Extra update because I feel guilty for luring you in with adorable fluff before doing a 180 and making it horrific

"What in the world?" Saguru couldn't help the exclamation, Kaito was sitting on his desk. However the situation was different than usual. Kaito was tiny! Not in the way that Shinichi had become Conan, no, the magician looked to be exactly the same age that he normally was. Except his friend seemed to only be approximately 5 inches tall.

Kaito raised a brow, looking very unimpressed with one leg crossed over the other as they both hung from the very thick book that he'd decided to sit on "Don't you think that I should be the one saying that instead?" Kaito deadpanned, fiddling with his outfit. He'd cut off a part of one of his many purple silk scarves and had fashioned it into a dress of sorts for himself, held together by many tiny knots since a sewing needle was currently much too big for him.

"I-" Saguru spluttered "How did you become like that?" The last time he'd seen the other, Kaito had been his normal size.

"I don't know" Kaito crossed his arms, feeling very annoyed by the situation "But I shrunk like this just moments after I put Watson back into her enclosure" He was thankful that it hadn't been before that, he was tiny enough that Watson could easily eat him. The hawk just barely tolerated him as it was.

The blond hummed, intrigued "Did you steal anything without a notice?"

Kaito scowled "Of course not, there's no point in stealing if I do it that way"

"So it was Koizumi-chan then" Which meant that the effect probably wouldn't last too long. The witch just liked to test out new spells on people, especially Kaito. It was harder for her to cast spells on the magician so she attempted it more often for a challenge.

"How am I supposed to do a heist like this!?" Kaito whined, he had a heist tonight. It wasn't a Pandora candidate but it was still a heist. His reputation would be on the line if he missed it!

Saguru was silent for a few moments before a small smile spread across his lips "Maybe you could still do the heist"

Indigos narrowed "How? I'm tiny! Kid can't make an appearance" Both Jii and his mother were out of town at the moment.

"You could mess with them by pretending to be a very advanced mini-Kid robot" Saguru offered.

Robot... Yeah Kaito didn't like thinking about robots of himself but... A wide grin slowly spread across his face "I could mock them by saying that I can use remote controlled things to get a gem" He was practically buzzing with excitement now "I made tiny drones a few weeks ago!" He could ride them! He turned towards the blond "I need your help to make a suit to fit me"

Saguru smiled "Don't glitter bomb me for the next few heists and it's a deal" Glitter got absolutely everywhere. He really really didn't like it, at all.

Kaito nodded "Okay"

Kid was grinning from where he was hidden, head just barely peeking out of Saguru's chest pocket. The target was a small sapphire ring, he'd easily be able to snatch it and escape with it. The inspector was running around yelling as he tugged on everyone's faces. Kid stifled a giggle, that was completely useless tonight. Since it was nearing the time, he slipped away, clad in makeshift black poncho that his his Kid outfit. He had a microphone tucked into his tie, for obvious reasons.

When the heist time officially came, Kid struck. A large white smokescreen and lights allowed him to cast his shadow "I don't really need to be here" He teased playfully "I think I'll just let my doll do the work for me tonight" Ginzo was screaming something but he paid it no mind. He turned off the shadow casting lights, slipped the wring around his waist, and then leapt up onto his surveillance drone.

Ginzo growled, looking extremely pissed off "Get that doll and find Kid!" How dare that thief just decide to barely show up! He watched as the doll just laughed gleefully as it's ride expertly avoided each and every one of their efforts to obtain it. What the hell... This wasn't like that damn thief at all!

Eventually, Kid started to tire of the task force's repeated failures, so he directed the drone out the window. He recovered himself with the black poncho before slipping away to where he'd planned to meet up with Saguru. The thief managed to get halfway there before he felt himself getting picked up by the scruff "Put me down!" Kid flailed a bit before recomposing himself when he realized just who had picked him up. It was Shinichi.

"...I can't believe You actually did a heist like this" The sleuth breathed, a little dumbfounded "You do know that they could have killed you since they think you're just a doll right?" One wrong swipe, or one wrong step...

Kid grimaced "That's why I stayed on the drone Meitantei" He could be reckless yes, but he wasn't a complete idiot.

Shinichi just sighed at the response "I really can't believe you sometimes..." He lifted Kaito up a bit more to deposit him into his pocket "Just stay in there until it's all clear, I don't want an accident to cause your untimely death"

The thief let out a huff but stayed put, Shinichi was just showing that he cared about him "I'm sure I would have been fine"

"Probably, but I'd still rather not have you risk your safety" The sleuth replied under his breath as he pretended to join the search for both Kid and the doll. Eventually everyone ended up getting dismissed after finding nothing that led them to the thief. So Shinichi regrouped with Saguru and they headed out together "Here's your thief"

Kaito yelped as he felt himself being picked up "Oi!"

"Thank you" Saguru held out his hand and Shinichi deposited Kaito onto it.

Azure gleamed "No problem, just keep a better eye on him will you?"

Kaito grumbled as he was stuffed into Saguru's pocket, how rude!

"I do what I can, but he's a handful to deal with"

The sleuth snorted at the joke.

Me: So a cute tiny non-child Kaito fic~ The prompt word was 'Elf' ~ I like having him just passed around at the end XD
