If any of you are familiar with the Netflix series "The Hollow"--just know that I am obsessed. I literally cannot wait for the second season! A friend of mines ran an RP with the same premises but, of course, we replaced the characters with our own and forged quite an interesting journey. Unfortunately, it died off before it could finish but lots of amazing memories, character development, love, heartbreak, and "omg" moments happened!

Without further ado, let's get to my Hollow children!

Title: "The Hollow: Corben"

Here's my first child! Corben Mongdala. In the real world, he was once a super popular athlete, the star member of his basketball team. Was with the girl of his dreams--his forever, in fact. He saw himself settling down with her and everything. And scholarships for college basketball were rolling in... Until that all changed.

One car accident. Both of his parents died in the crash, but he survived. And from that day forth, he lost all functioning in his body from the waist down, forever bound in a wheelchair. His future was dashed to dust, his younger sister resented him, and his girlfriend gradually ghosted him.

Within the game "The Hollow", Corben is a rough, moody, and constantly angry young man. But don't worry, he's a big ole softy teddy bear once you wiggle into his heart.

Power

Earth Manipulation | Anger fuels the power behind his earth manipulation.

Sub-Power

Animal Speak | He can speak, comprehend, and befriend animals... but only when he's calm and at peace. Animals refuse to deal with him when he's angry.

Title: "The Hollow: Precious"

My second Hollow child--Precious "Presh" Ngoye! Inside of the game, she's a calm, cool, and confident young woman, a witty comeback always resting on the tip of her tongue. Oddly enough, her insults feel like honey rolling down your back... until you realize how badly she burned you (with love). Regardless, she's fiercely protective of her friends and always puts their safety above her own. Seriously, I cannot count how many times this girl has injured herself in the process of saving/protecting someone.

Outside of the game... Presh is a notorious bully at her school. Always starting fights, never going a day without punching out somebody's teeth. And she's never sorry about it. Behind closed doors, Presh is a victim of physical and emotional abuse from her uncle, while her mother is completely ignorant to the situation. While the woman is running through the streets, trying to escape adulthood, Presh's uncle reduces her to an obedient, beaten lap dog.

Power

Ice Manipulation | She can produce and manipulate ice, along with freezing all forms of water around her.

Sub-Power

Physical Endurance | To put simply, she's incredible sturdy. This does not mean that she doesn't take damage; rather, she can tune out the pain it causes far easier than the normal human being.

Title: "The Hollow: Dee Dee Benayoun"

Honestly... This airheaded sweetheart weirdo deserves the world and more. In The Hollow, Dee Dee is an eccentric young woman who claims that she can hear "spirits" talking to her. All. The. Time. And yes, she definitely has full blown conversations with them while the rest of the group looks at her like she's crazy. It's literally impossible to upset her--the optimism never dies and she's a tad too... dumb to be offended. Rude, but it's true.

Outside the game, Dee is currently living a good life. Her foster parents (two dads) literally drown her in love and attention, and they live in a financially comfortable position. However, Dee volunteers all of her free time into supporting and caring for the homeless. There's a handful of homeless shelters that she likes to visit and lend her services to (such as soup lines, charity drives, etc) because they were her family before adoption. At the time, it'd just been Dee and her father Joseph, struggling to survive without a roof over their heads...

Until Joseph walked Dee to school.

And never came back.

...She was six.

If you look closely at her arm, you can see scars represent her past struggles with depression and self-harm. She fully intends to get a tattoo over them someday.

Power

Laser Vision | Very much like Cyclops from "X-Men", Dee shoots laser beams from her eyes when she removes her glasses. It's insanely dangerous and powerful.

Sub-Power

Hyper-Sympathy | An odd power--and difficult to use, at that. The "spirits" that Dee hears are actually the thoughts of people nearby, but she cannot read their minds completely. Thoughts directly linked with intense emotions bombard her senses. For example, someone next to her could be experiencing grief; thus, she would hear their thoughts of, "I miss them" and "I can't believe they're gone".

And now a sketch of the entire crew! Of course, only three of the characters belong to me, while the other three belong to my RP partner! This is seriously an amazing cast. These goobers will always hold a special place in my heart... *Sniffle.*
