Say hello to my adorable weirdo Kim! This is Jennifer's little sister, though she doesn't possess any of the bullheaded fire as her older sibling. Instead, Kim is quiet and reserved, and in the rare case that she does open her mouth, she says some very strange things. You absolutely cannot spot her without a Capri Sun in hand, as well. Don't ask where she gets them from. They just manifest out of thin air at this point.

In the previous chapter, I mentioned that Jennifer discovered the existence of demons when a Drainer attacked Kim. The specific demon is in the second picture, snuggling Kim (that demon's name is Bruno, I'll explain more about him later).

So now we must ask the Golden Question here: How can Kim see demons as well?

Well, her Spiritual Awakening happened... forcefully. Or should I say, it was reborn.

You see, a Drainer demon functions simply. They latch onto their host with their tail and drain them of energy, feeding their fill before hopping off. That is what they do. An easy enough objective. However, Bruno is a special case. He was born with a "deformity/malfunction", as his fellow demons like to put it, where he can only give energy rather than take. Desperate to prove himself, he goes on a draining spree, failing every single time and just leaving his targets feeling rejuvenated.

Then Kim is his next target.

Like always, Bruno pooled energy into Kim rather than drained, but the insertion of his demonic presence into her system triggered something. The breaking of a seal of some sort. Neither party realized until it was too late that they were now bound to a Demon Pact.

Thus, enter Kim the Demon Whisperer.

As you can see, this pact has granted Kim quite a few abilities. First off, she can adopt the core traits of any demon she has/has formed a pact with. In these two depictions, Kim is utilizing Demon Diffusion to use a Drainer Demon's talons, sharp fangs, and drainer tail. She retains awareness in this form, so long as the demon she's drawing from isn't overwhelmingly evil. She definitely got lucky in that department because Bruno is quite the sweet little Drainer demon.

It's not to say that Kim's ability doesn't come with any set backs. They definitely do.

Once a pact is made, it cannot be undone. For every bond made, a piece of Kim's soul is infected with demonic influence. The more this happens, the further she plummets into primal episodes, thirsting for blood and violence. At first, it won't be too much of a problem (because it's just Bruno), but then she'll begin to see hallucinations. See these horrific images and visions of the demonic influence craving release.

Kim's powers are more so a curse than a gift and the origins of it are a big plot spoiler that I shall keep a mystery.
