"You don't need to drop me everyday, my hostel is at walking distance from college, I can manage." Naira said to Kartik, who was hell bent on dropping her to hostel, even tho her hostel was at walking distance, but he was walking besides her.

"I need to make sure that you reach safely." He replied.

"Why is that?"

"My heart says that." He said and grinned, she couldn't help but to smile at him.

He came to the other side, and now started walking on right side, shifting her to left side.

"Why you came this side?" She asked.

"There's alot of traffic this side." He replied, and she just looked at him at his care, he exchanged sides with her because at her side there was a lot of traffic. He was surely making her weak to get a grip on her feelings.

In her thoughts, she didn't realize they had already reached her hostel. Time spent with him could never be enough.

"You're coming to party, right?" He asked her, she nodded with a smile.

His eyes were continuously looking for her in the place filled with people. Loud music, banging out of speakers, and everyone swaying their bodies according to its beat.

There he found her, standing with Viyaan. Looking so beautiful in her shimmery baggy dress.

He went towards them.

"Hey." He said and she looked at him.

"Here you look after her now." Viyaan said and left.

"You're looking pretty."

"Thankyou." She said tucking her hair behind her ear.

They just stood there in silence. Different boys and girls kept coming to meet Kartik, but he only stood by her side, holding her hand, fulfilling his promise.

Naira saw Liha shooting daggers at her but ignored her.

"So, you still don't like me?" He asked, but this time genuinely.

"Why you always bring it in?"

"Because I know you like me." She rolled her eyes at him.

"Tell me, why are you afraid?" He asked holding her hand.

"I'm not. I just don't like you." She replied.

"C'mon, we both know, you lying."

"I'm not."

"Look at me, and say you don't like me." He said.

"Ugh, what do you want? Stop clinging to me."

"Just look at me and say you don't like me, I promise I'll catch my way, separate." He said this time serious, looking at her.

She was confused, she couldn't like him, she loathed such people, but it didn't look like whenever she was with him.

She looked at him, and forcefully said those words, "I don't like you."

He looked at her for a good one minute and then walked past her brushing his shoulder with hers. She looked at his back, and he left the place, going outside, leaving her alone behind in a crowd of unknown people, breaking his promise.
