"Where were you? I was waiting for you since so long." Naira exclaimed as she saw Kartik.

"Don't you think, you're getting habitual of me?" He smirked.

"Oh shut up."

"Give in. We both know."

"Huh?"

"You like me."

"I don't."

"You do."

"No."

"Go out with me."

"What?" He raised his eyebrows at her.

"What, what? Go out with me." He said.

"Why would I do that?"

"Because you like me."

"Oof, don't you get this? I don't like you."

"We stay with each other for the whole day. We talk 24/7, even during classes we are still texting. You need more proof to say that you like me?"

"That doesn't mean that I like you." She rolled her eyes.

"The quiet Naira hanging out with a guy, spending weekends with a guy, doesn't feel like that." He said as he took steps closer to her.

"Shut up." She pushed him and sat down.

"Soon, you gonna confess it." He winked, she rolled her eyes.

"There's a party tonight. Are you coming?" Kartik asked her sipping on his drink.

"No, I've to work on a project."

"C'mon. You can do that later. Come to party." He said, she shook her head.

"Please, for me." He again insisted.

"Ugh, you know I don't like things there. Like all these elite people doing weird stuffs, alcohol, weed and making out at the entrance like literally." He chuckled.

"You can stay with me, or Viyaan would be there too, he's a fun company." He said.

It was a fact, she did felt secured around Kartik. He was rude, egoistc with others, but to her he was the nicest. She couldn't comprehend, whether he pretended or in real he was being genuine. But all the times, he held her hand while crossing the road, while standing in the queue, when he would always come by her side when she was walking alone, when he always messaged to check if she reached home safely, when he always waited outside the gate so that he could drop her, all these things made her think something else and feel something that she wasn't supposed to feel.

When she looked confused, he again spoke up, "I won't leave your hand in the crowd, I promise."
