"You said what?" Asked Naira,

"sorry I panicked and I wanted to help" said Sriti

" how by making me look like someone who just hook up with anyone that shows me attention?" Said Naira, Sriti went quiet..

"anyways what's done is done we can't undo it..so tell me how did he react when you told him about this?" She asked her

"He goes church but when I asked anything about you guys he didn't reveal anything talk about a closed book" she replied.

"Oh he looked shocked and a bit surprised and maybe a bit jealous" said Sriti

Kartik heard a knock on the door, he opened it.

"Kartik can we talk" she asked genuinely

"it's late I have classes tomorrow so do you."

"You know I still believe you werent't there with me in hospital when I needed you" she said 

"Naira I...listen" he said trying to hold her hand but she walked  off. He couldn't call after her as it was late and he couldn't scream her name, they were just two doors down from each other. He was feeling bad..he closed his door and walked down he saw her door slightly open.. he looked for her, for a few seconds

"What, why have you come here Kartik" she said walking up to him

" I.. "

"I knew it you couldn't stay away either" she said and pulled him close.

" Naira.." he said as she started to pull his t-shirt up.

"this rumour I heard..um I told you Vinnie he is a womaniser-  he stand holding her straight.

"Kya.. we can chat about this later.. she said trying to hug him.

" so it's fine what you did?" He asked holding her arms trying to get an answer

"I didn't do anything..it's not true but if it has been would you be bothered? She asked  he went quiet, they just stared at each other..

"Now that you know we can chat later right now.." she undid his jogging bottoms string.

"Stop this!" He said pushing her back, her eyes widened with shock.. he let go of her.

" sorry but I.. "  he began to apologise but only if she let him.

" Sorry but I can't haina? Why are you acting like you can't be near me?" She asked him directly, rather irritated with his moods.

"Because..

" because! Because what?" She fired at him

"I can't, Naira I've taken a celibacy vow" he said to her. Naira looked at him with a serious expression but then  burst out laughing.

" seriously Kartik sorry, but what does that even mean to you, you breath, live and sleep sex, celibate aur tum really?" She said

"It's true Naira, I haven't been with anyone since us that night" he revealed, but Naira just couldn't take this news seriously.

"ok..and what about now, Vishwamitra can this menaka entice you ?" She asked

"didn't you just hear me?" He said but she walked to him to hug him again

"Enough Naira, there will be no relation between us!" he said

" Kartik tum pagal ho chuke ho, a leopard can't change its spots!" She shouted

"Naira just stay away from me, keep your distance, I don't want you to come to my classes" he said in a angry tone, she felt hurt by his words, because he was damn serious the realisation of that was hard to digest, she slowly nodded

"ok fine" she said trying to control her tears.

"Hmm" he said and  left her room.

Naira stopped going to his classes, but she still wanted him, she couldn't help her feelings she just kept remembering their beautiful times together being intimate as well as just a couple, laughimg with each other, enjoying each others company, she was missing her Kartik, she was angry with him but she didn't hate him. Naira felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked up.

"Kartik?" She looked at him confused and then saw his eyes moist, she looked at him, his tears were threatening to come hard and fast, he didn't want to cry in front of her she is already so sad he couldnt add to her sadness.

"Naira, i.." she looked at him with sad eyes

"I'm so so..Sorry darling " he said ran away..

'Darling I haven't heard him call me that for so long'

Kartik started to punch the bag harder, as his tears started flowing.  " I couldn't protect them"

"I'm not worth it.im not,I'm not!  Soft hands held him back.

"Stop it" she said softly hugging his naked back, and learnt her cheek on his back.

"Shant ho jao Kartik" she said holding him around the waist, he stopped punching and he held her hands in his and turned.

" Naira" he took her in his arms  "I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me the most, I'm so sorry that you were alone when you were told that our baby didn't make it, I'm sorry..

"Shhh shant"" she buried her face in his bare chest and hugged him, they just held each other.

"I know you are, mujhe pata hai" she said hugging him more, he slowly released her, he wiped  her tears softly,he looked at her down to up. Their eyes met no words were exchanged

He looked at her closely then took her free hand and held it, Naira followed his lead they went behind a curtain, he let go of her hand, his attention went on her soft waist, he held it with both palms. Feeling his hand on her skin after all this time made  her breath hitch.

Naira was shocked she removed her hands and plucked up the courage to ask further, does she want to know..not really she just got the shock of finding out someone dileberate did this!

"Who do we know them or was it a random act?" She asked him..but he shook his head..that means someone she knows..or they know?

Not random it was Savitri bua and she is I.. found out.. my real.. my real  mumma " he said

"What?!" She was shocked, that Savitri can do such a heinous thing! But wait Kartik's mumma how is that possible.

"Your mumma how?" She asked him

Kartik ruffled his hair feeling stressed and weak,  he knew this blow would send her in to this state but he had to tell her. Sbe needed to know, but as predicted she wouldn't be able to take the news!

Naira stopped midway..

"Naira what ever  just happened between us I..i fell weak ..I  um i still can't be near you, I'm too tempted" he said

"It's ok I get it finally get  and it's ok Kartik, right now if you want to find peace then your free I won't make demands on you, I didn't realise what happened but now that I know I can understand alittle bit, if going church and staying away from me gives you solace then that is what you should do" she said

He looked at her how mature she is behaving it was beautiful to see this side.

"thank you Naira, and if you want you can join my classes again I won't object" he said  and she smiled at him.

"I will think about it" she smiled back

"Right I um..yeah" she said leaving, Kartik heard her payal jingling away..  he took his bag left for church, he needed to control his feelings!
