"I'll go outside and then come in" she nodded leaving their home office and stood outside it.

"ok next come on through" he said

"Hi there take a seat Mrs Naira Goenka?

"I heard he is a stern boss and it's hard to impress him he doesn't easily pass people for work" she said

"Baby why you panicking you will be fine" he said whilst holding her hand across the table and then let go as he cleared his throat.

"Take a seat Miss Singhania" she did as he said

"Hmm so your resume seems good.. he knotted his fingers and rested his hands on the table.

"Why should I give you the job I mean there are many people who can do it..so why should you be selected?"

"Umm.." she said and he started taping the end of his pen on the table..

"Miss Singhania very quickly tell me a bit about yourself" he asked

"Mendak please..ek minute!" She said snapping at him.

"Is this how you will behave on the day" he scolded

"Kartik?" they turned and saw Tara

"You stalking us now" said Kartik clearly irritated they were more or less finished with their food.

"Kartik we need to talk Salil is waiting for me but..

"This has become some joke so.. he said getting up then went behind Naira and helped her out of her seat whilst holding her hand.

"We are busy chalo darling" he took his girl by the hand and went out of the hotel.

"Sorry to both of you, my dad did this" they heard Tara speak and turned around

"I know we never saw eye to eye Naira but even I don't believe this  wedding my dad did all this I know he said it was your mumma but she told me ke Naira and you are happy together this all was a mistake" Kartik and Naira exchanged looks.

"personally I have no Interest in Kartik the fact that we took saath phera doesn't hold much value but papa is another level in time he will understand too..so no hard feelings guys that's all I wanted to say"

"Tara..thanks now it's less awkward"

"Yeah Tara Salil and you are married in the eyes of the public" she said whilst leaning her head on Kartik's shoulder.

"Yes exactly now we know what is what I better get back to Salil see you guys around" she said leaving them to it. Kartik smiled squeezing her hand which was lovingly intertwined with his.

"Bechari kesa baap hai..and he blamed the entire thing on Savitri ji" 

"Hmm pagal aadmi.." she said agreeing

"Come let's go home" he kissed her head, she lifted it up to face him.

Sargi is given by the mother in-law?" Kartik was reading about the rituals as it was important to his Sherni. "Koi baat nai  I will handle it all" he said as he was leaving from his yoga session he put his phone back in his pocket.

" tara what are you doing here?"

"Can we talk there is just something I need to tell you" she said.

"Ok guys see you all for the puja tomorrow and masimaa I told you John uncle will find it interesting"

"What mother in law..I don't know I'll have to sort something"

"Dinner was great with you di"

"Yes Kavya it was like old times" she smiled, Arohi had to get home to Kiran it was quite late now Naira left too after saying bye to her sister, John uncle and masimaa.

"Darling I am home" he yelled closing the front door, he took some stuff in the kitchen then came into their room.

"Yeah I got busy..actually Tara met with me to apologise again"

"Oh..right anything else" he shook his head  "I'll get changed and join you" he said then removed his t-shirt and jogging pants.

"Actually I'll go do my brush and then we can chat" he said standing near her. "Yah ok"

"Kiss" he said leaning in he looked cute in just his boxers actually he looked gorgeous every night and day. They lip locked and then he went in the washroom a few minutes.

"So what you doing for your sargi?"he said as he came out.

"You know about Sargi?" She said and then put her magazine down.

"Yes do you have?" He asked her

"Its by the mother in law..so no" she commented

"Ok well let's sleep it will be fine hmm" he got into bed and pulled her close.

"I have set the alarm for 3:30am so I can wake up and be on time" she said whilst drawing patterns on his waist.

"Well we better sleep good night sherni" he said then gave her a soft lip kiss.

"Yah" she snuggled more in his arms and fell asleep kissing his pec.

The next day Naira's alarm rang she saw the time it was around 3 she then saw she was still in arms she smiled then untangled herself without waking him, she quickly had a bath and got changed and then went into the kitchen

"Of course meri biwi ka pehla karvachauth" he gave her a back hug "come sit" she nodded with a smile  holding his hand and then sat her down there was a plate full of food, she picked up a piece of apple.

"Allow me" he said taking it and then fed her. "Thank you baby by the way how did you do all this?" She said eating some almonds.

"I had it made yesterday and also I got a kit where it has your essential things I think our garden will be the perfect place just the 2 of us" he said then kissed her cheek.

"Actually I am na going to masimaa house for it where I will get my mehendi done and then their is a Puja and then you can join to break my fast with the others" she said whilst eating more food.

"Its our 1st Karvachauth darling its special and I want to break your fast with just us" he said

"Oh..I didn't know you felt that way.. he was quiet after a few seconds passed she put her hand on his.

"Look I'll tell you what. I will do my mehendi there and then I'll come home and we can have our moment in the garden"

"Ok if your sure only..

"You just said na..

"Yah but you sound like you have a plan in place I don't want to ruin"

"Mendak, I love you and this is our 1st one after marriage it should be just us " he smiled at her words, she resumed eating whilst he lovingly fed her they giggled about things and enjoyed the morning, but later that morning Naira got a call to come in for her interview.

"Darling just refuse it your fasting as well" he said whilst she changed.

"Nai I can't I'll be ok I have eaten heaps I am not even hungry right now I'm ready"

"ok babes but let me drive you please" he said whilst moving her to the back she nodded

"I'd like that baby" she held his hand they left for her interview, they soon reached the place.

"We're here" he said then looked at her.

"I um.."

"Hey..he cupped her face "you are going to smash this baby" He touched his forehead to hers.

"Yes I am" she said he released her and held her hands

"Right I'll see you in the evening" she said "yes darling"

"See you mendak" they leaned in and kissed bye, she then came out of the car and went into the huge building that said Starlight newspaper, feeling confident and happy she walked in and was called shortly.

"Next!" She walked into the interview room

"Hi Naira Singhania take a seat I am Ashok Choudhury"

"Hi Sir..here is my resume

"no I don't need to see all that their are many people who have applied so let's just get to the point! tell me why should you be made junior editor of our new column"

"Thank you bhagvanji" she prayed at the temple "things are feeling great I am getting my dream job and I have an amazing pati" she thanked God and then started leaving to go to her masimaa's home.

"Naira hi so are you fasting.. probably not you and Kartik are not actually married"  the comment irritated Naira but she didn't let it show.

"Yeah but soon..So are you fasting but you and Salil didn't do the whole marriage thing? So I guess not"

"Yah..probably but I did do saath phere with someone  and um Kartik met me yesterday"

"Yes I know" he said

"Oh he told you then? Naira didn't have a clue what she was talking about but she didn't want her to know.

"Yes its call trust anyways I have to be someone where..

"so I guess you have seen this too?" She shoved the picture in her face,  Naira saw a photo of them hugging?

"ok a photo of you guys"

"Yeah but it's no big deal he loves you and your engaged" she said Naira nodded "exactly we are" she said then her phone beeped she left without another word she opened her message.

'Hey darling i was thinking about you all afternoon I hope you have some good news for me' instead she called him.

"Hey babe" he answered "so..

"Your looking at the new junior editor of Starlight's new column" she said in an upbeat tone.

"Yes" he punched his fist in the air with a wide grin "I knew my darling will do it I am so proud of you" he said with such warmth in his tone.

"Thanks my love" she kissed the air to him.

"I love you" they said in unison then laughed "I am missing you" he pouted

"Me too I am just on my way to masimaa's place"

"Listen send me a photo of your mehendi" she nodded with a grin "haan ok" she was happily talking with her mendak and forgot all about Tara she trusts Kartik and she'd be damn if anyone ruined her relationship. She went over to her masimaa and they all had a great time applying mehendi and hearing the story behind the rituals.

Kartik was sitting in a white and red kurta waiting for her to come home instead he got another call Savitri flashed on the screen he just cut the call, he then heard the front door.

"Darling your here and Haaye" he smiled seeing her come through in a red sari looking all decked up.

"Hi sorry I got busy" she walked forward "to send a picture" he took her hands "wow and it's dark in colour sherni" she smiled as he kissed both palms. "Come let's go in the garden your samaan is there" they came outside and so did the moon

"Perfect timing" he said seeing the moon

"This all looks beautiful" she said seeing the decorated table with flowers and candles lighting up the scene. "You stand here in front of my eyes" she did his aarti then poured water,he smiled seeing her devotion to the ritual for him she then took the chani and saw the moon 1st and said a prayer for his wellbeing and then shifted it to his handsome face, then she brought it down.

"Do I take the water now?" she nodded "hmm then feed me some sweets and that will break my fast" he made her drink water followed by mithai.

"Happy Karvachauth baby" she said then encircled his neck

"Happy happy Karvachauth gorgoeous" he said holding her waist and then their lips met in 3 soft tender kisses.

"You must be starving come darling you can eat properly now" he said "take a seat I'll be right back" she nodded sitting down..5 minutes passed and she came back in the house.

"I know but Tara doesn't understand?"

"I know Naira is the one your with but her father insists that you come and break her fast"

"And Tara she wants that I break her fast too..hmm ok bye" he cut the call

"That was Savitri can you believe Tara's father insist that I break her fast" he shook his head.

"so you will go break her fast?"

"Naira..its just formalty..

"and then next she will demand suhagraat with you then what you will say that's also formality!

"Now your being silly" he said

"I saw her today in the temple she told me that you both met and talked.. he walked forward.

"It was just about her father bas aur kuch nai"

"She showed me a photo of you both you were holding her.. she said and then walked off. "What when Naira?" He sighed to get something, she was sat on the bed wiping a escaping tear.

"Hey look I have food" he said

"Mujhe bhukh nai hai" he put the plate on the table

"Naira..look at me" she shook her head he cupped her chin "you need to eat please you will fall weak otherwise" his phone rang "what! No I can't come I know..its not my problem well give her a bottle of water I'll pay for that" he said cutting the call he then picked up the plate.

"Now here open your mouth this food is tasty I was planning to do dinner with you in the garden but. a small bite for me for your mendak?" She looked up and opened her mouth he placed a piece in her mouth

"That's better" he wiped her tears she felt a little better

"Have you eaten? He shook his head " i thought we will eat together" she took a piece and fed him.

"I  have another plate outside I thought we were going to eat in the garden

"Let's go then" she said getting up she held his hand and they ate at the table she didn't say much she was busy eating once they finished she got up and took the plates Inside.

"That was tasty na" she nodded

"Naira.." he said in an emotional tone

"I am sorry mendak but I am tired of this, these mind games of hers"

"One sec sweetheart Hello listen sir..but,.or what, you'll have me arrested dream on"

"Kartik go break her fast then" she said walking off..he raced behind her seated on the bed again.

"This was suppose to be our happy day, you got  a new job our 1st Karvachauth" she wiped her tears at his words.

"But she is playing some game and her father he just threatened you I can't compete with that"

"She isn't it's her father"

"Really well then why show me the photo"

"I don't know what photo it was I asked but you won't tell" he said

"The wedding day you both looked close" she revealed

"We just can't get a break! if not her then her father and I don't want for you to even give her a bottle of water on your name it will still stand as a ritual"  "darling"he sat next to her on their bed.

"You know what let's do it" he said

"Do what?" She asked him.

"That's enough I am calling the police he humiliated my daughter again" said her dad and drove to their place but it was locked.

"That's our flight call mendak" she smiled holding his hand

"Yes Sherni let's go" he walked holding her waist as they neared towards the gates.
