The next day

"You had a good day champ" said Kartuk parking up in their driveway he just picked Kittu up from daycare.

"Looks like nani is here" he said seeing her car in their driveway. He got out and then attended to his son by carrying him out of his car seat.

"Jaan we are back" he called.

"Jaan" said Kittu..Kartik chuckled " eh only daddy says jaan to mumma" he said tickling Kittu..  "chalo let's go find my jaan meaning your mumma" he kissed his cheek.

"I'm glad Anant that you came by it's good to see you" she said rubbing his arm, then removed it.

"You too Naira" he replied "you and Kartik are together it's great, I know how you were withiout him during Kittu's atleast this time you have him with you" said Anant

"So am I, this little one will have daddy from the very beginning" she smiled caressing her belly.

"Hey do you remember that time when you were in hospital and that guy" he said not being able to control his laughter

"shut up I can't I will wet myself" she said covering his mouth with her palm. They were both laughing.

"Well doesn't this look cosy" Kartik said coming into the room he just left Kittu with his nani in the hall she had mentioned Naira was with her friend, but forgot to mention which friend..

"Baby your here" she got up  with a smile and went to him. "Anant has come to India and he..come sit with us"  she said dragging him with her.

"Hey Kartik" he said

"Hey.." replied Kartik sluming down next to her.

"So..what brings you back here Anant" he said in a defensive tone.

"Kartik.. Anant was just saying that..well actually when he called last week I thought maybe"

"He called last week you never said.," questioned Kartik

"Oh didn't i,I  must've forgotten sorry I-

"Its ok Naira must've forgotten she-"

"I don't need you to tell me my wife forgotten thank you very much." He said in a sarcastic tone.. Naira gave him a look, there was a awkward silence in the room.

"Daddy Mumma" said a cute voice

"Kittu said Anant "wow he has grown Naira"

"I know na.." she smiling at her little boy.

"Kittu come here" called Anant but Kittu went straight to Kartik. "daddy"

""Aaja mera baccha" he carried him on to his lap.

"He's forgotten me" said Anant

" well you know kids out of sight out of mind" said Kartik. Kittu started t lean his head in Naira's shoulder.

"no he gets playful I'm sure he remembers you" said Naira.

"I can't believe how tiny he was in the hospital and now look at him" said Anant

"yeah the most gorgeous baby remember when he use to-

"chalo Kittu juice pena hai?" Said Kartik getting up and carrying him towards the kitchen..

"Sorry are you and Kartik not on good terms I just sense some tension" he said holding her hand

"I um.. she removed her hand.

"Please don't argue it can't be good for the baby" Anant put his hand on her bump

" Anant don't do that it's- she said trying to remove his hand but oh too late!

"take your damn hand off my wife's belly woh meri biwi hai!" yelled Kartik, when he saw Anant.

"Kartik what's wrong with you!" Shouted Naira

"Me are you serious?!" He shouted back. "Anant you've seen Naira now leave!" He said pulling him out of his seat.

"What's your problem leave my arm" yelled Anant.

"Get out of my house and keep away from my family do you understand this!" Naira saw the tension building!

"stop it, Kartik,Anant came to give this" she handed him a card. Kartik read the content of it.

"Your getting married?" He question

"Yes now would you please stop treating me like the obsessed ex I am not interested in her that way I've invited you all to my marriage it's in Australia" he revealed

"Sorry I um, don't know if we will come but all the best" he said and left from there. Kartik came in their room and shut the door. Shortly footsteps followed into that room.

"What the hell was that huh Kartik?!" She said and then stood in front of him.

"what, I said sorry what more do you want from me and he touched your bump" he said getting off the bed. Naira turned to him. "I moved his hand I didn't feel comfortable either, but was that necessary? Honey talk to me please?  asked him.

"Kittu is my son hearing about how he was there when you were expecting, and a gorgeous baby and all that I missed out on it all, hearing that how do you think that makes me feel Naira" he said.. Naira for a second felt bad but right now in their 2nd pregnancy he is behaving oddly what's that all about.

"But even now you are acting like your not happy.." she said to him.. "are you not happy with us? With this pregnancy?" She asked him. Kartik sighed she thought he will say something more but that's all she got out of him, come on say something Kartik! Her mind wanted to shake his thoughts!

"You know what I thought this pregnancy will be different because we are pregnant I thought we will go shopping and enjoy buying things for our baby, we would discuss baby names it would be a enjoyable time for me, but clearly your silence speaks voulme Kartik" He came and hovered around their the bed still being mute.

"Fine clearly your not happy with me around right now..so I'm um.. think it would be best to go stay with mumma for a few days and i-

"My papa contacted me" he said sitting down on the bed again

"what?!" She said a bit startled by the news. "When?" She asked coming over to him.

"Three days back" he said..

"So that's why you mood has been off lately?" She asked

"Hmm I didn't know how to deal with it I'm sorry.." he said then held her hand

"why didn't you tell me?" She sat down next to him.

"He wants to start again Naira he said he has changed but I know how you feel about my past so..I didn't have the courage to tell you" he admitted

"Am I that scary?" She asked playfully.

"I thought you might want to leave me if you knew that he wanted to talk with me"

"You idiot" she smacked his arm. "Is that what you think of my love for you? that weak, maybe you do then" she said getting up.

"jaan I'm sorry..I didn't mean to upset you" he said holding her hand "please don't go to stay with your mumma" he stood up "we are pregnant it's special that we share this time, these precious moments together" he said standing up.. but she remained quiet

" jaan" he turned her to him.

"I'll just go say bye to Anant come with me?" he shook his head and he pressed his lips on hers.

"Beta I'll go see where Naira is" said Anjali as she was holding Kittu.

"aunty it's ok let her be I'll be seeing you all at the wedding right?" He said giving her a hug. "Hopefully it's quite close to her due date"

"Hmm I hope for the best Bye Kittu he still doesn't remember me" he said as Kittu didn't come in his arms.

Meanwhile.. Kartik and Naira lost track of time they were on the bed kissing each other.

"ok..now shall we go say bye honey" she said after they broke the kiss. He clicked his tongue.

"We will go in 5 minutes" he said then kissed the crook of her neck sweetly which made her distracted by him.

"ok let's go" he said taking her hand..they started coming down the stairs. Kartik saw Anant carrying Kittu..

"Yes aunty of course Naira and Kartik are made for each other" he said.

"His mumma and papa are a match made from heaven,and Kartik has this moments but he is a lovely boy" she said caressing his little cheek. Naira smiled at the comment, leaning her cheek on his shoulder, he lovingly squeezed her hand. Hearing her mumma speaking about their relationship and him in a positive way it was nice to hear.

"Look who has made an appearance" said Anjali seeing them at the end of the steps, Anant turned with Kittu  In that moment Kittu saw his daddy and now he wanted him.

"Finally" said Anant

"daddy" said Kittu stretching for him. Anant gave him to Kartik.

"Anant sorry about today it's been a weird couple of days" he said "safe flight buddy" he stretched his hand out to him. He shook Kartik's hand

"No problem and you guys have to come to my wedding" Kartik nodded, they all said bye and he left with Anjali. Later that day Naira was on video chat with Maya..

"So have you guys decided where your going to go for your time away" Naira shook her head as she was chewing on the apple Kartik had cut for her..

"Nai yaar, I don't think so.."

"what do you mean Naira I thought this is the best moments of your life you were hoping for going on babymoon right?"

"So did I..maternity shopping i went on my own, babymoon forget it I don't have any high expectations for it." She said.

"But..

" aree chod na tell me what's happening in your life that guy you met kuch hua ya nai?"

'Babymoon what's that, and Naira looks sad, i thought after she showed me her maternity wear we were ok..this is my fault I made my jaan feel this way'

Kartik came into the kitchen.. he heard her laugh at something which made him smile he saw the empty bowl.. he kissed her head.

"Finished?" He asked which she nodded to..

"Yah thanks baby" she said and then resumed her talk with Maya. He then left and sank down on the couch as he searched a few things on his phone.

"oh ok that is what a babymoon is" he chuckled "nice" he then felt a soft touch on his knee, he looked away from his phone.

"You want to come in daddy's godi?..aaja" he said then lifted him up and sat him on his knee. He held him securely, whilst browsing his phone with the other hand.

"We needed a babymoon my wife wanted us to have sometime before our baby arrives.. he kept reading about husband's support at this time and screenshot an extract.

"Your wife needs support and encouragement at this stage of her life. Pregnancy is a time of several ups and downs on the one hand, she is happy and excited; on the other hand, there are physical changes, uncertainties, and fear. During the journey that is her pregnancy, it is important that you encourage her and remind her that you are with her and that she need not worry"

then his attention went to his son, who was falling asleep no wonder he was being oddly quiet.. Kartik put his phone to the side and made his son more comfortable by laying him across his lap.. He kissed his cheek.

"Soon I'll have two sleeping in my lap and I can't wait" he said with a wife grin then rocked Kittu to sleep. Kartik placed Kittu to sleep on the other couch and placed a blanket on him. He got back in his phone and started making some calls..

"Jaan I'm just nipping out" he said coming into the kitchen, she was off her video call.

"ok..is everything ok?" She asked him..

"Hmm all fine I'll see you in a bit, Kittu has gone to sleep on the couch I'll get him ready for bed once I get back home" he said

"no it's ok I can do that" she said

"jaan your over 3 months let me help you out ok" he said caressing her cheek.

"ok thanks" she said

"I'll see you in a bit" he gave a subtle smile. "ok" she replied they shared a quick kiss and then he left.

The next day Naira came home from work she told work that she is pregnant they were not so impressed with her timing..

"Jaan how was your day" he said.. she heard his voice "it could've been better I.. " she turned and her words trailed off when she saw him holding her favourite Roses.

"I'm sorry for being an idiot, this is for you" he said handing her the boquet of pink Roses and this too" he handed her a gift bag.

"aww they are beautiful and smell divine" she said inhaling the fragrance. "Thank you honey" she gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"Wait you were saying your day could've been better.." he asked with a concerned tone.

"You just made it better they are beautiful" she smiled

"jaan let's go sit you must be tired na" he held her hand and lead her to the couch, he sat her down and took a seat next to her. Naira noticed something on the table.

"Yeh kya hai patidev new book? The Expectant Father: The Ultimate Guide for Dads-to-Be aree wah" she giggled

"Don't take fun out of me, I'm serious I've started reading it too" he said in a tone she found cute.

"aww" she squeezed his cheeks and kissed the air at him.

"Um there is more.. see inside the bag" he said and kissed her hand. "ok honey" she started to open it, there was a cardboard box and a card too.

"Card" she was confused and then opened it.

She smiled seeing the card, then.. read the message from Kartik.

Dear Jaan..I'm going to make this pregnancy so special for you, I'll be by your side all the way" Naira's eyes started to tear and couldn't continue reading the rest.

"I love you so much mendak" she said and hugged him tightly.

"Love you more" he said holding her securely in his arms both were smiling in a loving embrace.
