"Naira!" Kartik ran towards her, taking her frame in his arms, people started to surround them. He couldn't quite believe what just happened.

"Mera phone kaha hai" he pulled it from his pocket and called an ambulance.

He saw from the same car at a distance it opened and then slammed again, it drove off, but before it did he took a photo of the license plate, why did it feel familiar was this deliberately! He then looked down at her helpless situation.

"Where  is the damn ambulance, mein kya karu oh God aur baby!" He decided to take her to the hospital himself, a couple seeing their state  helped them out, he sat in the back with her head in his lap, while they drove his car to the hospital. He carried Naira through the doors.

" doctor Smita!" She yelled

" Kartik beta what happened oh God, this is Naira na" he nodded with tears streaming down his face.

"Please help her" he said.

"Yes sister please take her through, she is pregnant" a stretcher came and Naira was placed on it.

"don't worry we will look after her" said Smita patting his arm, reassuring him and left. Kartik's mind kept replaying the events, and that license plate has seen it before.. he made a quick call. just then the doctor called him.

"Kartik we checked Naira over, she is fine no internal injury she fainted due to shock that impacted on her mind however she has a injury on her leg which may need stitches, but nothing life threatening" she said

"thank you aunty meri Naira theekh hai" he said hugging her.

"yes beta..but"

"but kya Smita aunty?" He asked

"but baby ka I can't say..we will check once she is awake" she said, Kartik nodded weakly

"Can I see Naira?" She nodded, he started walking but then his phone beeped, incoming sms. 

"Don't you want to know what her name is?" He read

'Oh God what does he want, I don't have time for this! I thought it was a message about that license plate but  it's just Mr Goenka  playing mind games and wasting my time I don't fucking need this right now!'

"NO I don't! and send" he slipped the phone back in his pocket.

Naira stirred and her eyes opened..

"Where am I?" She said seeing the nurses and why is my leg paining ,why am I here and Kartik and oh god'

"Mera bacha?" She said clutching her belly.

"Please calm down stay in laying position" said the nurse

 "Kartik!, Kar--

"I'm here Naira" he said and gripped her hand.

"Kya hua mein hospital mein aur Dr Smita?" She said seeing her enter next.. he cupped her face

"Darling,you were involved in an accident but you are ok thankfully" he said

"Aur baby?" She asked looking to dr Smita and then to him.

"Now that your awake we can check that now" said the dr

"Kartik I'm scared" she clutched his waist crying into him

"Naira" he said trying to see her face, he wiped her tears

"We have to be strong what ever the outcome" he said trying to give her courage

"I feel fine so I'm sure sab kuch theekh hi hoga" she said to him.

"Dr please check" she told her and held Kartik's hand reassuring him, the nurse applied gel on her tummy. Naira saw him look at his phone for the 2nd time.

"Why do you keep checking that did something happen?" She asked, he shook his head.

"nothing darling sorry I've put it away now" he held her hand again, the monitor came on..

"see Kartik just like last time and then we saw our baby"  she said looking at him, but by the nurse and dr faces, Kartik could see something was wrong

"What's wrong sister?" Asked Naira seeing her troubled face.

"I can't find a heart beat" she said, looking to them both, they both looked at each other, Kartik pressed his temple to Naira

"Wait let me try"  said Dr Smita, Kartik phone started ringing.

"Kartik your phone is ringing attend it" said Naira

"I can do that later" he said

"Nai it's ok, dr Smita haina we will be fine" she said

"ok I won't be long, please look after her this is very urgent" dr Smita nodded

"Hurry up I'm in the middle of something do you know who that car belongs to?" He asked he was quite shocked but not as much he had his doubts already. He cut the call then he had another incoming call!

"Kya hai papa nai Jana mujhe so please! But when his dad told him this revelation the phone dropped out of his hand, he couldn't believe it, his face lost colour, the room was spinning, was what he heard true, unfortunately 100% Mr Goenka never takes fake oath on his maa, he tried to gather his thoughts and left for a few seconds.

"Kartik beta, where have you been" said Dr Smita

"sorry..I Naira how is she?" She shook her head

"Shocked, devastated, I'm sorry you lost the baby" said the dr and Kartik just broke down and fell to his knees crying, he couldn't take anymore shocks and this one sent him off.

" Kartik beta, please utho beta, esa hota hai sometimes we can't control what God has written"  shall I call Manish or someone" Kartik got up quickly his tears turned to anger, then again to sadness.

"I'll go see Naira, and I'm fine now Smita aunty dad doesn't need to be here he himself just came out of hospital" he said because he didn't want anyone, he doesn't trust anyone that's why he broke down.

"ok beta come, sister take him to the room where Naira is shifted too. Kartik went with the nurse .

"she is resting" said the nurse that had just attended to her Kartik nodded, he saw that she was asleep.

'I wasn't even with her when she was told about losing our baby..I'm no good to her right now and actually she should have someone with her. But I should see her atleast kya karu mein.'

"Naira my darling" I kissed her cheek, she stirred and her eyes opened

"We lost the baby" she said with slight tears, seeing her condition he couldn't control his tears, he wiped her tears and she wiped his. She held his hand and fell asleep again.

'I just watched her sleep, my phone beeped again, I actually felt like smashing it to pieces but I need some answers, but I can't leave her alone, I slowly removed my hand from hers, I will call someone.

"hello Kavya it's Kartik, listen your sister needs you right now" he explained to her what happened. Kavya came shortly but not alone, she had Arohi too.

"I needed some help Arohi di is better at these things" she said,

"Arohi please don't bring Kiran in front of her she just lost the baby" said Kartik, Arohi nodded and handed him to Kartik, Kartik looked at Kiran and hugged him. Kavya saw his face..

" di was  carrying your baby am I right?" Kartik looked at her and he nodded.

"Pleass take him,I need to take care of something" he handed her the baby as he was leaving he saw more people come including Salil.

"Salil, bua nai aye?" He asked , he ignored and enquired about Naira. I really don't want him anywhere near her, but right now I need to something sorted out.

"Beta how is Naira" said Savitri making an enterance, Kartik lost his cool.

"GU2134" is your license plate haina bua?" He said walking up to them

"Yes why?" Said Salil

"shut up Salil, yeah so what Kartik I have nothing to say to you, I've come to see how my bahu is" she said

"After trying to kill her you have come to enquire how she is doing!" Shouted Kartik

"Stop accusing my maa of such bakwas now i am going to see how Naira is" said Salil walking off..

"Anyway  how is Naira doing?" Savitri asked me

"I had an interesting call from dad yesterday except he isn't my dad is he"

" what?" She asked

" sleep peacefully tonight you killed your own grandchild, your blood hmm, not bua  mumma!"

"What did Manish tell you?" She asked casually

"Ek second you don't seem very shocked" he said seeing her tension free face

"Your right, I know but no one else can especially not Salil it would kill him" she said

"Salil,Salil, that's all you care about, because he was born when you were in a marriage and me I was a one night!

"watch your mouth, I may not have a properly relationship with you  but I'm still your mother Kartik! Kartik chuckled

"You called Naira characterless, look in the mirror mumma when you had me what kind of relationship were you in you disgust me!" Then it dawned on Savitri!

Naira looked around for Kartik but she couldn't see him, Kavya told her what happened when Kartik saw Kiran, Naira sobbed again and now was feeling suffocated. Kartik was also feeling sad and trapped he broke down in Manish's arms, he calmed him and sent him to sleep.

"Manish I need to speak with you" Manish rolled his eyes hearing Savitri he attended the door anyway.

"What have you told Kartik about his real dad?" She asked him "He hates you so don't bother" said Manish

"Look I made a mistake yes I never wanted him to know but now that he does I can't handle this hatred from him, Kartik is my son he is Salil's brother, I have to fix this" said Savitri

"Savi, Kartik will never be yours he is my shadow, my everything and he just told me how much he hates you, now if you don't mind I'm busy with my son's wedding preparations. He made Savitri leave.

"Manish I won't forgive you for this!" She yelled outside the door

Naira felt alone and irritated she just wanted to be left alone, she discharged herself from hospital. Naira took her bag and pressed the doorbell the door opened.

"Naira dear?"

"Who is it John?" Naira heard her loving voice

"Look Jenna" Jenna looked.

"Masimaa I'm sorry " said Naira her eyes filled instantly

"Mumma" she said and threw herself on her masi.

" Naira beta what happened?" she asked but she kept crying, her masi hugged her tightly.

"Na,na mera baccha" she wiped her tears off

"John take her bag, come in beta" she said she made Naira comfortable and Naira explained everything having a heart to heart with her.

"and then masimaa I fell pregnant, Kartik was so happy, i had left Salil to live with him, we went to do shopping yesterday and then in an accident I had a miscarriage masimaa" she started crying again

"I'm so sorry beta" she said holding her close.

"So where is Kartik now?" Naira wiped her tears

"I don't know, he is just as devastated in this as much as me, he was so excited for this baby" she said

" beta you both lost this child you should be together supporting each other" said masimaa

"I'm really tired can you sing to me maa that lori like you use to when I was little" she said lying her head in her lap, Jenna caressed her head and put her to sleep. The next day Kartik wanted to go see her but Manish stopped him by some sob story a few days passed like this.

"I heard the bell it has to be Kartik" she said going to the door.

"Oh hi.." she said seeing Salil her face dropped

"How are you feeling" he said seeing her, Naira remained quiet, then her masimaa came in and let them talk.

"So Kartik not been in touch..?" She looked at him

"It's ok, it's been a shock for him he will when he is ready"

" hmm Naira I'm your friend despite anything so I wanted to show you this" he handed Naira something.

2 weeks later..

"I'm worried about her John she just stays in her room, she has her shower and then just stays there, then only comes and eats a little,  Salil is being great coming everyday but now she is refusing to see anyone." Said Jenna to her husband, the doorbell rang, Salil went to attend it

"wow look who finally got the time" said Salil

" what are you doing here?" Asked Kartik

"I've been at Naira's side she is my friend" he said

" yes friend that's all she will ever be to you!" Said Kartik

"You can't come in we are busy.. he said

" who is there.." Kartik? come in, Naira is upstairs " said Jenna, Salil got irritated, Kartik left and went upstairs.

"Aunty why did you do that, you know she didn't want to see anyone" he yelled

"Salil, they both suffered a loss, maybe this is exactly what Naira needs" she said walking off, Kartik.

Kartik saw her room was open..he took a step in she was sitting on the bed in her pjs.

Kartik!" She said seeing him, he walked to her bed,she walked kneeling to him with a smile.

"Where have you been?" She asked She stood up on the bed with her.

"Pata hai maine kitna miss kiya" he saw her arms open. He looked up and hugged her around the waist he missed her too they just hugged. "Maine bhi darling"  he said she clinged to him and he carried her up she wrapped her legs around his waist, her face in the crook of his neck. He closed his eyes just holding her closely, Naira inhaled his scent and it felt so good to be in his arms. She lifted her head and ruffled his hair

" tum kaisi ho?" He said

" I'm ok" she said fiddling with his shirt collar,

" Naira I'm so sorry how are you?" he said

" ek sec hmm" she got down, "take seat" she said as she locked the door.  But Kartik remained standing, he needed to tell her who did this to them.

"Baby come sit with me" she said pulling him on the bed with her.

"Naira I need to tell you something" she turned and put her finger to his lips.

"Kartik abhi mujhe kuch nai suna please, I just want to be with you" she said.

'She isn't dealing with this, so right now I can't tell her that Savitri did this to us.

"ok darling" she smiled and came into his arms.

"Good" she leaned her head on his chest,

"You asked me how I'm feeling, I'm feeling nothing, I'm all numb" she said, he nodded and sighed holding her closer.

"We lost our baby and"

"I don't want to talk about it please..I just" she looked up at him, leaned in and took his lips for a kiss.

"I just want to forget everything for a bit" she said unbuttoning his shirt, he held her hand

"Naira are you sure isn't it too soon?" He asked.

"It's fine I'm saying na" she placed his hands on her shirt buttons, making him undo the first one, they started kissing each other eagerly as they unbuttoned each others shirts, she pushed his off fast. He gently removed hers off, breaking the very heated kiss, he hugged her, their upper naked bodies caressed intimately, He then laid her on her back he started to kiss and suck her boobs, Naira sighed in pleasure, rubbing the back of his neck, he kept trailing kisses down her chest, going lower.

"Shall I go check on her it's very quiet and late" said Salil

"Boy I think you should go home" said John, and Jenna agreed with him, Salil left from there.

"we should sleep it's late if Naira needs you she will let you know right now it seems Kartik will be joining us for breakfast. Said John, Jenna nodded.

"Hmm I'm not worried Naira is an adult she knows what she wants, I'm fine with it, whatever makes my betiyarani happy.

They had just made love, Kartik held her waist, and was falling asleep.

"Kartik, it's getting late you should go" she said turning to him, he held her face

"Something wrong baby?" He asked, she moved a bit back removing his hand

"no I just want to be on my own" he nodded and got up, he started getting dressed and she went to the washroom and cried her eyes out, not understanding what she was feeling, she slipped her gown on and came out, he was fully dressed.

"Ek second I want to give you something" he was clueless as to what..

"Have a nice wedding tomorrow Kartik, I thought you were in shock that's why you didn't see me but instead it seems you were planning this?!" She said

"where did you get this?" He asked.

"Salil gave it" she said

"Of course he did, he can't stand the fact that we are together he is jealous!" He yelled

"Are you getting married tomorrow? See I knew it you were with me for the baby now no baby no us" she said in a mixture of anger and sadness, Kartik was shocked as to her thoughts

"We just made love, you really think!

"Oh please it's just sex for you, it's always sex, you have never loved me Kartik" she said with tears forming in her eyes. Kartik controlled his own tears from coming he was feeling angry at her soch"

"Fine if that's what you think then fine" he said

"What?" She asked

"Well you have made your mind up about me, then your right and thanks I will have a brilliant wedding tomorrow" he said

"Good I wish you both goodluck" she said, without another word Kartik left from there.  Jenna saw Kartik come down the stairs she called but he left through the front door.

" Naira beta?" Said her masimaa,

"I'm such an idiot, I know he loves me but I just pushed him away and now it's too late kal uski shaadi hai and mein kitni stupid hu" she said falling to the floor, masimaa cradled her in her arms.

Kartik wiped his tears and just continued crying in the car, things were just spiralling out of control did he just lose Naira?
