Naira let him kiss her..he lightly caressed her cheek whilst they were kissing, which made her conscious to the moment, she broke the kiss,

" Kartik" she said

" thank God humara baby ache se develope ho raha hai" he said, she nodded

" haan, I got scared when she was checking the normality of the baby"

" mein bhi, accha hai baby" he said placing his hand lightly on her belly

" Naira i-

"I'm going to get changed" she said getting up from the bed, he held her hand and helped her off the bed

" thanks.." she said and went to get changed

Naira took off the blue gown and started wearing her dress.

'What am I doing I don't know anymore, I'm living with Salil still as his wife, I'm pregnant with Kartik's baby, i'm a damn mess where do I go from here, what is best for my baby. Kartik is being very supportive, but that is just love for the baby or.. he so easily broke our relationship and now I'm not sure what he wants. But this baby, she said slipping her ear-rings on, it's our baby, made from our love, when it was conceived, we were very much in a loving relationship' she said touching her belly.

"is she ok, why is she taking so long to get dressed?" He said to himself, just then he saw her come out of the room, with her dress back on and her hair as it was already open.

"Tum theekh ho, you were taking some time-

"I'm fine relax Kartik" she said

"Hi guys sorry for the wait but our printer is down, you can collect it tomorrow" said a nurse

"ok no problem sister" said Naira, she turned to Kartik

"Chale?" He nodded

"Haan, sister just give me a call I will collect it along with her report" he said, Naira walked ahead

"Naira..where are you going wait up" he said walking to her, she was heading to his car

"I'll collect the report and photos you don't need to, now please drop me back" she said to him and without listening she sat in the car, Kartik sat and closed the door

"ok as you wish I don't want to add to your stress" he said starting up the car, he dropped her home and parked a bit further so it didn't look like he dropped her off, without a word she got back and closed the door. As soon as she was in the door Salil started asking her questions

"I was worried you shouldn't be out in this condition" he said

"shh" she said seeing her mother in law

"don't worry ma is very happy for us" said Salil

'Why did he have to tell her all this I don't understand what he wants but I'm frustrated'

"Naira I can't believe it, congratulations beta" she hugged her tightly, for the first time her saas excepted her fully. Naira just nodded

"Accha bas ma, she is probably tired and should be resting" he said, Savitri agreed and Naira stormed up the stairs, she heard the door click

"Why did you tell your mumma about this pregnancy?" She snapped

"Calm down it's no big deal, she would have found out anyway, everyone else knows" he said

"Salil, this is not your baby, we are not together even and you do know na ke Kartik will play a very vital part in his/her life when-

"How can you?" He asked

"Sorry?"

"Yeah how can you be so connected to him after he is engaged to someone else, and he has messed you about" he said she was quiet

"I know this baby isn't mine,but how will you handle all this Naira? What will you do?" He asked her, she started to think on his question.

"I have love for the both of you, I want to be a father to this baby, i know I can't biologically but I would like to be there for you, please think about it hmm?" he said and left her with those thoughts

The next day Kartik messaged Naira to meet her the driver drove and dropped her to a cafe

" I could've picked you up" he said once he saw her, walking with her sling purse.

"It's fine chale?" She said turning to leave, "Ek second" he said he held her arm and turned her to him

"why are you behaving cold with me hmm, first you say I can be part of our baby's life and-?"

" Salil wants to bring up the baby with me" she said

" What?! He said

"But you can still a part of the baby's life" she replied

"Just in secret right, so for the world the baby will have his name and-

"Please Kartik I'm thinking practically, if this comes out now then papa, Arohi, masimaa sab kya sochenge, and mein yeh stress" Kartik saw her troubled face.

"ok I'll agree for now because i don't want you to take on any stress but I can't promise anything" he said and she nodded

"Let's go get your report" he said and he drove them to the hospital , they both came there he was quiet and only spoke when they reached.

" hi I'm here to collect, reports and sonography" said Kartik

" and the dvd" she said coming next to him.

"Yes ma'am just a minute" said the receptionist, she came back quickly

" thank you" said Kartik taking the stuff.

" yeh hai tumhari report, and here is the DVD" he said

"Aur yeh" he said opening the flap of the photo

"Humara baby" she said touching the photo. He turned to her and she looked up

" Haan humara baby" he said,she smiled and side hugged him holding him around the waist, feeling this mutual feeling which only they could understand, he wrapped his free arm around her shoulders.

"it's crazy na ke one day this little size bean will become an actual baby" she said as they walked out

"I know right" he said then noticing their position she removed his arm from her, he did the same.

"Um I should go now here is your copy" she said

"and DVD you can keep for now" he said, and then they sat in the car, again they were silent

"Naira listen" he said

"Kartik please not right now please drop me home I'm tired" she said, he wanted to talk but she was falling a asleep, after driving they reached.

"Come on wakey wakey meri sleeping beauty" he said, Naira opened her eyes

"Wait this isn't home" she said

"It is the home the home I bought for you for us..Listen I want to show you something please manaa maat karna" he said.She was quiet for a few seconds.

"ok fine I'll come with you for a few minutes" she said

Kartik walked in and she followed behind, he holds her hand and takes her through. She came to their bedroom, he pushed the door open. He went in first, she saw that photo above their bed, and her mind started going through memories of that wonderful trip, where they were so happy. She could feel the sting of hot tears.

"Naira look at me" he said coming in front of her

"I love you, and we should be together!" He said

"Ka-rtik" she said in a it's too late tone.

"see and imagine a bassinet here, where our baby would be fast asleep, and us in this bed watching over him or her. Naira's eyes followed his direction and words, then found a tear escape her eye.

"Haina darling" he said coming behind her. He placed his hand on her belly.

"me, you and our baby" he lightly caressed her belly near her navel

"in our little world, isn't this worth exploring then staying in a loveless marriage " he said, he heard her sigh, and gently turned her.

" hey.." he cupped her face.

"please don't cry" he removed his hands

" right now I just want to concentrate on my pregnancy and you should focus..on tara you promised marriage with her remember" she said feeling a bitter taste when she uttered those words.

"And you on who Salil?" He asked feeling irritated.

"What?" She asked

" you know what, get in the car I'm dropping you home" he said storming out of the house, Naira found him really irritating when he gave her the silent treatment, and it's what he did all the way there.

" your here" he said unlocking the locks, she placed her hand on his.

"I'm sorry but we can't go back to what we were, and Salil it isn't the same as you and Tara, but she doesn't deserve to be messed around like I was" she said and opened the door. Once she lefted he hit the steering wheel

" she is f*cking right, and clearly made up her mind!" Then his phone rang

" hey Vikas, yes I know he is in hospital.." he said then remembered the other headache at home, he couldn't confront his dad just yet..but he will do soon

"Beta" Naira was a bit startled,

"Papa?" She said in his tight hug

"I'm so happy for you both, mein nana bane wala hu" he said, Naira forced a smile

She thought how did he know.. then her Saas and Salil emerged and Naira understood how he got the news.

"I'm so proud of my girls all of them" he said and Naira felt guilty.

The next day Naira and Salil were getting ready. Arjun had organised a party for Arohi's birthday in a hotel. Naira reached and saw Kartik his arm was around Tara's waist, they were talking.. Kartik saw Naira and Salil arrive, he greeted them, then passing he said something in Naira's ear

"You want this baby you can keep it I don't want any part of it and Tara is a really sweet girl, how lucky am i" he said and gave a smug smile, tears threatened her eyes but she kept them from coming.

"by the way your looking gorgeous in this dress" he said and when she blinked he was gone far to the other side of the hall

'He doesn't want this baby means what? ok I said he will be a secret but I didn't mean for him to completely cut ties, did I make him this helpless to do this'

"where are you lost their cutting the cake come on" said Salil, for a few seconds Naira concentrated on her di but then her mind went to Kartik who was laughing with Tara, she was feeling completely ignored by him.

'Well what did you expect you can't have your cake and eat it Naira'

Naira followed Kartik she didn't know why, she saw Tara leave his side,

"what?- he said, when he saw her hold his hand

"come with me" she said, Kartik was confused, she walked and then she stopped when she saw a empty foyer

" tara will, be waiting- she took his hands and placed them around her waist, he looked into her eyes, his phone rang

"Oh ta-
She looped his neck and kissed his lips, he reciprocated the kiss, it turned passionate when she pushed him to the wall.

"Naira stop this" he said pulling back, holding her wrists, she felt a weird sensation, yes she was going to be sick.

"Excuse me" She ran to a toilet that said private. She started vomiting in the toilet. She found her hair being pushed back and her back being rubbed.

She turned and saw Kartik

" I thought you didn't want any part of this baby's life" she said breathless from being sick, he took a tissue from the side.

"You really think I would want that" he said as he dabbed her sweaty forehead.

" I just said it because you were being cold with me I would never want that" " he said wiping her mouth, then he helped her on her feet.

"Thanks for you k-" she said but got cut off..

"But it obviously doesn't make a difference to you how I feel" he said throwing the tissue in the toilet and left the cubical. Naira got out and rinsed her mouth her mind riddled with thoughts.

Kartik needed air he went into the lawn at the back of the hotel, the cool air was a comforting relief

"Oi mendak" she called, he heard her voice but didn't turn around

"Salil is inside..he commented

"But the one my heart is looking for is out here" she yelled, but still he didn't turn.

"Tell me will you come to every appointment with me to see how our baby is growing" she yelled, he slowly turned

"Whatever crazy food cravings I have in the middle of the night you will get for me?" She said taking small step towards him, He was puzzled but listened

"What?" He asked

"When I'm a size of a beach whale will you still love me?" She yelled, Kartik smiled a little

"Of course I will darling" he yelled, Naira smiled, then Kartik saw that the sprinklers were coming on.

" Naira wait there" he called, but she didn't understand and the sprinklers came on, making them both wet,

"Naira thand lag jayegi" he said seeing her dress and hair getting wet. But she just smiled at him.

"It's fine we are liking it, she said holding her belly referring to their growing little human. Kartik smiled fully and she smiled at him, admiring his form, his smile and most importantly the amazing person he is. The sprinklers got more powerful.

"Darling now move away from there please" he said, but she was in a trance watching her Kartik.

I love you mendak!" She shouted

" I love love love you sherni" he said, and they ran towards each other and hugged the embrace was pure love and care. He released her frame and kissed her wet forehead. She encircled his waist, as he showered kisses on her cheeks.

"I don't know how this will work but I want us to be a family Kartik" she said

"I want that too Naira more than anything" he said and she nodded

"Good" she replied and their lips met, the sprinklers came back on, and drenched them but their kiss was a long passionate one they didn't even notice the water, it just added to this moment.
