"Now Kartik will put the ring on Tara" said her dad. Kartik went to do so, and saw her in the corner of his eye.

'Naira what is she doing here! She doesn't even know!'

" did you invite Naira?" He said under his breath

"Yeah Salil called me.."she said

"Come on son" said Manish and prompted him

" I'm leaving I can't stay here" she said to Salil in a broken tone. Naira ran from there,

Kartik dropped the ring, everyone started making a commotion, but his eyes were searching for her. Kartik didnt know, when Tara's mum gave him the ring again and without looking even he slipped it on, everyone cheered. Only when everyone cheered and he saw his dad's face he realised the engagement was done, he excused himself.

"You did this on purpose!" he said to Salil

"Congrats bhaiya, and she had to know" he said being smug

where did she go" he asked Salil shrugged his shoulders. Kartik left from there he called her but no answer.

"She will be so hurt, I can't believe Salil can do this to her!" He started searching, he reached the 2nd floor of the hotel. He looked down and saw an object.

"yeh to Naira ka phone hai" he picked up her cell, it was near the freezer.

"Oh God, please don't this" he saw the door, and pulled it open and his eyes widened with shock seeing her on the floor. He ran to her at rocket speed.

"Naira, Naira!" He picked her up and placed her head on his lap.

"Oh God no you can't do this to me, esa nai please baby wake up" he said rubbing her arms, she was very cold, he lifted her up and took her out of there.

He then placed her down, and rubbed her hands and her feet, he touched her wrist, he found a weak pulse.

"Thank God she is breathing" he rubbed her cheeks to try and make her warm, he carried her up and took her into the nearest room he could find.

He held her frame and placed her into the bed and wrapped her up in the blanket.

"you will be fine" he said then his phone started ringing but he ignored it, his priority was her!

"She is still very cold, I need to make her warm but what shall I do" he said, then an idea came to his mind. He removed his shirt and vest, he got into the bed and held her close to his chest, trying to make her warm by his body heat.

"Naira please do something hosh mein avo" he said as he kept rubbing her arms and face.

" I'm so sorry this is all happening because of me" he said he was flat and placed her on to himself, he kept rubbing her back and waist, now his mind was wondering to ring an ambulance, he placed her on her back, touched her face, he then kissed her forehead.

"Naira my darling, my love please wake up" he said in a broken tone. He kissed her cheek it was less cold than before, he kissed her other cheek and then he touched her lips which were still cold. He leaned down and and took her bottom lip into his mouth, he sucked it trying to heat her through his own mouth . He did the same to her to her upper lip.

"I'm not waiting now I need to call an ambulance" he said,in that instance her lids fluttered.

" Naira, can you hear me?" He said holding her trying to make her more warm.

" K-artik?" She asked.

" thank God your awake" he said showering her face with warm kisses.

" thank god darling" he said and hugged her. His skin felt nice and warm on her, she was feeling cold still so she wrapped her arms around him, they just held each other.

"I thought I would never see you again, or hear your voice" he said seeing her innocent eyes and face.

"What happened?" She said in a weak voice.

"First how are you feeling shall I call an ambulance?" She shook her head.

"Nai, I'm fine, I'm a bit warm now" he took her in a side hug and pulled her into his arms.

"why are you telling lies your arms are cold still" he said hugging her close and for a second Naira just wanted to forget she snuggled into him, he kept rubbing her cheek and face.

" I think once a doctor should check you please" he said

"What happened?" She asked

"you got stuck in the freezer I don't know how long you were there for, I would feel better if you saw a doctor" said Kartik, Naira nodded and he quickly helped her up and drove them to the nearest hospital.

"Thank you for bringing me, now you can go back to your fiance" she said in a bitter tone, as she could recall everything in the car.

" Naira I.. " but she ignored him, she Informed Salil what happened and he came to pick her up.

The next day Naira got ready and left early. She came into her work place she went past the kitchen.

" yes Kartik is my all time crush I told papa if I get married i want it to be with him,  and soon we will set a date" Naira heard a excited Tara say, she left from there Immediately. Naira knocked on the door.

"I've come to get my phone." she said to Kartik

"How are you feeling?" He asked her, she ignored his question.

" phone?" She placed her hand out. Kartik gave her the phone. As she was leaving she saw a few  magazine on side table.

" whats this?" She asked him, then someone took it from her.

"Honeymoon plans we are thinking of Italy" said Tara taking the magazine from her, " haina baby" she said and Naira couldn't take it anymore, she ran from there and pressed the lift button. She wiped her streaming tears.

"How could you Kartik, Italy of all places" she wiped her eyes the lift doors opened, she got in and..

"Naira please wait"

"get out Kartik I have nothing to say to you!" She said in a hurt tone, he ignored her and came in the lift.

" leave me Kartik" but the lift started going down.

" listen to me" he said trying to hold her wrist

" Of all places Italy, that was our special place and your going to be!" Naira couldn't complete her sentence she felt her lose her balance as the lift haulted.

" what happened?" She asked him

"I don't know, I think we are stuck" he said seeing as no buttons were responding.

" oh shit" she said looking at the jammed door, she tried to open, it she didn't want to be here with him.

"Naira it won't open" he said seeing her struggle.

"Lag jayegi leave it" he said taking her hand from it.

"don't touch me!" She flinched, he saw her reaction so kept quiet.

"press the emergency button it will inform everyone" he said, she did that, and they were told the lift may take 2-3 hours to get open. Kartik went and sat down

"Come, you will feel tired just standing bab..Naira" he corrected himself.

" I'm fine,I'll wait" she said folding her arms not looking at him, soon her feet did feel tired and she went and sat down keeping a gap between them, he fell asleep, and she did too, Naira felt her head on his shoulder. His eyes opened, and she got up making distance from him.

"It must be over an hour now" she said

"Naira, calm down.."

" you don't have any right over me, you lost that! She screamed. He took her frame and pushed her against the wall.

"Just calm the f*ck down would you" he said, if looks could kill.. she was fuming.

"you break my heart, get engaged to someone else and I should calm down, didn't know what a good liar you are, I really fell for you!" She said and her words hurt him, she removed his hands off her.

"Tara means so much to you, you just used me" she said with her back to him, she was swiftly turned by him.

"I didn't use you, I stil.. "

"Did you take her to our house?" she said clearly in mode of his betrayal.

"What?" He asked

"Well your taking her to Italy so you must've done everything else with her, you must've slept with her, because you think with that then your brain when any girl is around!" She spat

"You know what if that's what you think of me then fine, your right it's all true yes we have done it all" he said raising his voice. Naira couldn't control her tears, just then the doors opened.

"Sorry for the wait sir" said a man, he had come to fix the lift. They both came out of the lift

" I'm done with this place and you " she said walking ahead.

"Come have some water we were in there for long" he said to Naira.

"I don't want anything from you ever, mein washroom jaa rahi hu"  she said leaving from there, Kartik sighed deeply. He pulled her and pinned her to the wall.

" you don't know anything ok and I said I would never intentionally hurt you" his eyes softened meeting her  confused ones..

"I meant that" he cupped her face and kissed her temple. Then left from there, leaving her puzzled. She then heard voices..

"Nikki you said Kartik is a play boy, he can't keep his hands off a girl, well he hasn't tried anything with me" said Tara

"Seriously?" Said nikki

"Yah he wont even let me kiss him on the cheek even, when I try he says all after marriage" said Tara

" oh.." said Nikki

"I think its special he wants to wait"

"This is Kartik we are talking about, he doesn't believe in all that, but yeah maybe" she said reassuring her.

Naira heard everything, but nothing came of it, they both kept their distance and didn't speak. A few weeks passed, a wedding invitation came through the door. Salil picked up the envelope.

"Preeti's wedding invitation aya ma" said Salil, handing her the invite

"oh wow wedding in Kolkata oh  it's this weekend the invite came late" said Savitri.

"yes ma but we should all go" she nodded

" yes I agree, also it will be good for both you and Naira to spend some time together, I mean she just seems a bit to herself after leaving her job with Kartik" she said.

"Nai maa she is fine, we are fine" he said a bit annoyed because the truth was even after these few weeks getting close to Naira has been a big failure.

Meanwhile Kartik was in hospital his dad had a fall and hurt his arm, he lost a lot of blood, Kartik was in a state of panic.

" doctor how is dad?" He asked him

"Don't worry he is stable now just a few days here we will keep him in for monitoring" the doctor said

"Thank God, thank you so much doctor" he smiled feeling relieved, as his dad meant everything to him.

Naira came out of the garden.

"Naira Preeti's wedding invite has arrived it's taken place in Kolkata"

"Salil I have no interest what so ever to attend a family wedding, where your whole family will be there and you know who i am talking about" she said

"so your going to avoid it, you don't know if he will even attend since Mansish uncle has been in hospital I don't think woh ayega" he said. Naira was quiet..

"ok fine I'll come" she replied

"Great babes, it's very soon this weekend we have to leave for pre functions which start day after tomorrow" he said

"ok well..we should start packing now i hope Arohi di comes" she said

" well the baby is quite small so I don't think it's likely" he said

" Kavya isn't attending due to her exams, di has to come I'll just call her" she said walking off.

Two days passed, Kartik came to talk to his father.

"Great news dad! I just had a chat with your doctor he said you can come home tonight" he said in an excitement.

" that's great son" he hugged his son. In the evening Kartik bought his dad home.

"Beta are you going to Preeti's wedding?" He asked him

"no dad I want to stay with you only, if I'm there I will worry na" he said

"nonsense beta, I'm fine one of us should go and represent it doesn't look nice na, tomorrow night is the cocktail and then shaadi" he said, Kartik nodded,

"Yah ok I'll think about it..

" good let Tara know she will accompany you" he smiled. Kartik nodded, he didn't want to take Tara but he was feeling obliged to do so. The next day Kartik gathered his things, he was getting ready to leave for the airport but before that he wanted to say bye to the house staff they were like family to him. He peered his head in the kitchen.

"Chote malik is so good he takes so much care of bade saab" said Vikram

"Yes at this time apne hi saath dete hai" said Mohan

"Hmm but that's just it apne to woh hai nai"

"shh Vikram that's a family secret Kartik can never know that bhai Saab  isn't really"

"His real?" Said Mohan

"chup kar bas don't say anymore the walls have ears, wait you've drunk na go and get sober or you will get us fired!"  He snapped

Kartik looked puzzled but then realised he is thinking rubbish.

"Mohan is drunk again when does he ever talk sense when he is like that I don't know why dad doesn't just fire him, but then don't people talk the truth when they are drunk?"
He questioned.
