"It's ok darling seems you both were quite close" he comforted her, she slowly came out of his hug. Naira sniffed he shook his head wiping her tears.

"I'm more sad for papa and also ke I couldn't do anything for her what she asked of me"

"Why what did she ask of you?"

" a grandkid but I.. " 

"don't you dare feel guilty about this Naira, isme tumhari koi galti nai hai" he said holding her waist. She was quiet, he then released her to speak.

"I don't know why parents and family do this, yes there are some dreams that they want us to fulfil but some are our choice and our right" she nodded agreeing with him.

"Your right" she said agreeing with him, they heard shuffling on the terrace and quickly made a distance..

"Meow"

Kartik looked down.

"Sirf billi hai" he said.

"Right I better make an appearance at home and see Salil"

Hearing Salil's name he didn't feel great, She was hesitant to ask him she didn't know why..

"Um baby.. you want to accompany me?"

He looked up, and nodded

"Sure darling I should also see how my little brother is doing" they  said their goodbyes and left  her papa's house.

Kartik parked the car, they reached, her house. He pulled the key out, Naira didn't leave the car.

"So here we are, back home" she turned to him.

" don't you want to go in" he asked.

"Not particularly no" she replied.

" then don't.. come back to mine, you can stay in my room" he smiled.

" aww how cute" she reached her one hand and squeezed his cheek

 I wish mendak" she said.

They both knew it wasn't practical yet both wished they could. They left the car and he took her suitcase out. Naira pushed the door bell, the house maid answered it.

" welcome back ma'am" she said. Kartik placed her suitcase on the ground and shut the door.

" Naira your back!" Salil practically fell on her, and she held him from falling. Kartik turned around and saw Salil hugging her.

"Don't leave like that again" he tighten the hug. Kartik felt his hand turn into a fist, he was feeling jealous seeing him and Naira like this. Savitri came..

" bas Salil she is here now"  said Savitri with a laugh.

"Exactly now I won't go ok" she slowly removed her hands off him. Salil nodded like a child. Kartik walked forward.

"Naira so sorry about your nani, How is your family" Naira spoke and Savitri explained why they couldn't come as Salil is barely able to walk and Naira said it's fine she understands.

" Namaste bua" he said, making his presence known, Naira looked at him hoping he is ok..

"Salil what happened when we left you were in one piece na" he said standing next to him, patting him on the shoulder.

"Haan what happened we heard you were in hospital again" said Naira, he held her hand.

" yes sweetheart but I'm better now that your here" Naira looked to Kartik, she was feeling uncomfortable.

"I'm so glad your ok little bro" he took him in a bear hug and patted him separating them.

"Yes he was in a bad way couldn't even move, kept saying Naira's name" said Savitri.

" exactly so glad your back" he cupped her cheeks.

"Good I'm glad" she ruffled his hair. Kartik gave her a look.

"Ok well I'll leave you all to it, I will head off I'm glad your feeling better" he lied. Walking passed them, Naira sensed his mood.

"Kartik I left my phone in the car,I'll just come" she said following him  to the car.

She shut the door and sat next to him, he was quiet.

"Oi mendak what's wrong" she asked playfully. He didn't speak

"Ok I'm going back if your not going to speak"

Yeh Salu all chipka chipka on you sala!" She giggled.

"Aww mera baby Jealous?" He clicked his tongue. there was silence

"The phone was an excuse that is in my purse...I came to give you a goodnight kiss"

He turned to her, she looked at him and they came forward mutually and started kissing, he cushioned her head with his hand, whilst she cupped his right cheek. After some time they broke the kiss.

"I love kissing these lips" he said in a soft tone and then gave her another one.

She smiled kissing him back.

"Same here" she said, she felt his hand rest on her knee, she felt is slowly go up.

'Kartik I know where you want to take this, even I want to but we can't right now'

She slowly stopped the kiss

"ok my love I better go inside" she said, but he held her hand.

"Just a few more minutes' he pouted she smiled

"ok" she held his hand and he kissed it.

'I spent all this time with just us, I want to go back to Italy where it was just us baby' 

"Kartik, it's getting late mein jao?" He nodded understanding her situation.

 "sweet dreams my baby" she gave him a fly kiss. he nodded "you too"
 she opened the door, he heard it slam.

He drove off..he went home and took his suitcase in, it was late his dad was asleep.  He went to go to sleep, but he was missing her, he wanted her with him here beside him.

'What am I thinking Woh to kabki sogai hogi, you too go to sleep, you have work tomorrow, actually before I sleep I  will do one thing'

Naira was asleep in her room on the sofa, Salil was in the bed because of his bad back. Her phone beeped.

"Kartik's message at this time?" She opened the message.

"sweet dreams darling" she read then saw the photo he sent of them in the gondola. A shy smile spread on her lips at the memory. She punched the keys.

" I love this photo of us, missing you baby"

Kartik smiled seeing her reply. They both were tired and whilst messaging her back, sleep took over him. Naira woke up early it was weird she was use to having herself engulfed in his arms instead here she was on the sofa alone and in a room where she never felt at home. She got up and looked around, Salil wasn't there, she quickly showered and got ready for work. She was leaving she told the maid to let everyone know.

"Madam, ma'amsaab is outside with Salil" she said.

"Ok, but I'm getting late" she lied

"But she said once you  are awake to call you outside" Naira rolled her eyes..

"ok you go I'm coming"

I went outside and saw mummyji helping Salil walk..

"Good your here, you can take over come quick!" She yelled, Naira rushed over and her saas gave  his hand in hers.

"Here now small steps because there is still alot of pain" Salil gripped her hand.

"I have to go work I don't.."

"Come on Naira you just came from a business trip, now you take care of your husband, I'll tell your boss, lucky for you he is my nephew" she said and left from there.

"Thanks you know for this.." he smiled at her, and Naira felt slightly guilty.

'I'm deceiving him, seeing his state like this, so helpless in pain I'm feeling bad he doesn't deserve any of this'

"That's ok,come let's get this pain to dissappear" she smiled. She helped him walk and then she remembered to message her boss.

"Sir is Naira coming in today or.."

"No idea Nikki, half the day is gone so I guess not" he said, just then his phone beeped.

'Sorry mendak I'm house bound mummyji put me on duty to look after Salil.'

"She is busy,stuff at home, listen give Sriti her tasks" Nikki nodded and left.

Naira's phone beeped. She read the reply

"ok" sirf ok..is he annoyed with me?.. no mein bhi kya such rahi hu we are passed all that we love each other" she smiled and let go of the thoughts.

"Naira I need to go washroom" said Salil

"um mummyji will be back soon, I can help you get there but if you get problem going then.."

"Actually I can wait for her" she nodded thanking her lucky stars because she did not want to be in that situation.

She didn't know when it became night time, the next day she reached work nice and early. She went passed his cabin and smiled, She looked here and there then opened his door, he was on a call, she heard his deep projectile voice. She closed the door and slowly crept behind him, she pressed her cheek to his back.

"Yes sir Mil jayegi file" he looked down and saw her hands around his belly.

"Haan I'm saying na" he spoke she smiled feeling his free hand cover hers and hold it close.

"Yes sir thank you" he put the phone down. He turned around holding her hands

"Hello how is my darling" he said holding her hands close to his chest.

"Better now that I have seen your gorgeous face this morning, it's my medicine" she giggled at his words.

"and you are mine" she said then he took her in his arms. Naira smiled into his chest,holding him around the waist.

"You feel a bit warm are you ok" she asked, then touched his forehead.

"Yup I feel fine" he smiled reassuring her.

Kartik's office phone started to ring.

"Ek second darling" keeping one arm around her waist , he took the call. Naira smiled watching her man, she encircled him sideways, and leaned her cheek on his chest watching as he attended the call. He kissed her temple, she smiled closing her eyes.

"Hmm a call from home?" He asked

"Yes connect me" he gave Nikki permission. Naira was getting lost in him,she arched up and inhaled his neck.

"Ek, sec baby" he was losing concentration.. but she was in a teasing mood,  Kartik closed his eyes when he felt her sweet lips kiss him there.

"Bua It's Kartik..you want to speak with Naira?" he asked, when heard her name her head shot up.

"Yes um..I'll just connect you" he made a fake tapping noise. Then asked her to take it.

"Mummyji, sab theekh hai..hmm, ok.. sure I will..woh kese hai?" Kartik let her talk

"Kal raat Maine Salil ke nightdress badli?"

'She what she changed his nightdress seriously' he thought as he popped a pill and took water after it eavesdropping on her conversation.

"Nai mummyji maine nai badli woh apne help ki.. of course I would remember" she said. Kartik came back.

"Salil I don't know.. you feeling better?..good ok bye.." she hung up.

"I don't know how that is an emergency call seriously wasting our work time" she sighed. He was a bit quiet.

"Dont think I didn't notice" she said

"What?" He asked.

" you just took a pill that means your not feeling well" she said.

"Nai sherni yeh vitamin pills hai I them every now and then " he said.

" what was the big issue with Salil that the call came on the office phone, I heard nightdress something" Naira was about to answer, but then they got interrupted by a colleague, Kartik got busy and so did she with her backlog of work. After some time, she wanted to see him.

" he must be free now" she thought as she was going to his office.

"He isn't there Naira" said Nikki.

" oh, ok then where?"

"I don't really have to tell you but he went home he hasn't been feeling well since the morning, I told him then he shouldn't have come in when he said he was feeling dizzy" Naira nodded in annoyance. She went back to her cabin.

'My poor mendak, I knew he was not feeling well, Vitamins my foot, and Nikki she knew but didn't say anything I'm feeling a bit jealous he told her and not me! and what's her damn  attitude  about yes you do have to tell me because we are together and each other. Anyways I'll deal with her later.
I wonder how Kartik is ghar par kaun hai ke unka khayal rakhenge he doesn't have a mumma. Even I want to leave early without him my heart isn't at work, I'm a bit worried I will go by his house and check up on him.

Kartik reached his room coughing a little.. he was tired and just fell on his bed in his work clothes.

" hi um Kartik kese hai" she asked the house maid.

" woh kamre mein hai"

Naira thought no one is even bothered, has he eaten, or been seen by a doctor, but now she is here, she will take care of her man, her real man.

" ok thank you" the maid left.. and it was silent in the house, Naira saw the time it was coming to 6pm.

"I will go see him" she first placed a tiffin and bag in the kitchen, and then headed to his room. she knocked the door.

" Kartik?" She called she pushed the door slightly

There he was on the bed, no one has even checked in on him, he is still in his work clothes, she thought. She came in his room and closed door.

"Mendak" she said caressing his forehead. He stirred.

" Naira?" He said frowning.

" shh I'm here na I will look after you"  she went to the end of the bed and removed his shoes. She came back and undid two of his top shirt buttons. He held her hand.

"What time is it?" He asked.

"Forget the time, how are you feeling, did you eat anything, I was so worried baby" he sat up holding her hand.

"It's ok, mein theekh hu, but thank you for your concern" he said and kissed her cheek.

" but did you eat anything since the afternoon, did you see a doctor ?" He shook his head.

"Nai it's ok, I'm not that hungry and it's a simple cold you know I'm  just run down just a headache and a slight cough dont worry" he smiled weakly. She wasn't convinced.

"I was a bit hungry but didn't know who to ask" he said

"Me! Kartik we are together and_" she was about to let go of his hands because she was irritated by his opinion but he didn't let her.

"Darling I'm use to this I've been taking care of myself all my life" he said

" I want to take care of my man" she said in an assertive tone, this comment made him smile.

"Ok but you don't need to sweetie I.."

"Listen I'm going to make you something you need to keep your strength up, so you can fight this cold now you relax because this Sherni will scare away this cold" she cupped his chin and kissed his cheek.

"Now you just leave it all to me, I'll just be back baby" he nodded weakly. He smiled lying down again.
