Naira cut the call and then got dressed up she wore a red dress with spaghetti straps and black heels, her hair in a hairband and su tle make up and soon after that she left to go in her car, soon she arrived at bar 22.

"Naira come" they both walked into the bar and Naira saw a banner "happy 21st birthday Naira?"

"Surprise" she heard and the lights came on.

"Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you" she knew that voice in her heart.

"You.. she said seeing him like how did he pull this off.

"What you really think I wouldn't do anything for your 21st" he put a arm around her shoulder.

"Smile" he took their selfie

"Ajay music lagao" he said then turned to her "meri Sherni ka 21st hai" she smiled at him "thank you" she said a tear spilled from her eye.

"Aree nai" he wiped her tear "Naira" said her friends "come cut your cake" she nodded "haan"

"Chalo" she held his hand and took him along with her to the table her 10 girl friends and 2 guy friends were waiting for her, he let go of her hand so she could greet her friends she chatted a bit with them.

"Kartik come cut the cake with me" he nodded they cut her cake together their friends took their clicks as they cut it and then fed each other.

"Right" Kartik unscrewed the champagne bottle and it popped open.

"Woohoo" they cheered

" 1st drink for the birthday girl" he made her drink from the bottle then she made him drink it.

"I am finally 21 ki yay!" She said Kartik hugged her "yes cuddles finally you are 21" he said

"Now this is what I call a party, tell me when did you organise all this?"

"I'll tell you when the day you guys came to my party he told me to book a reservation for this bar for your party" she said

"Itna advance mein?" She looked at Kartik who had a little smile on his lips.

"Hmm actually Naira mein abhi ayi hmm" said Kajal

"Thank you mendak mera birthday ko itna special banane ke liye"

"Chup yeh kya thank you, thank you rulayegi kya"  he gave her a side hug and took her to have some food everyone was enjoying the party.

"Ok birthday girl Naira Singhania let's get some legs shaking everyone the dance floor is open"  said DJ Ajay.

"Sherni come"

"ek second Rahul just sent me a friend request on Facebook and insta"

"ok.. add then let's go"

"Hmm..she did that but her phone froze

"its froze the phone it's been acting weird for the passed few days"

"Instead of the teddy I should've got you a phone"

"no ways I love the teddy, oh its working now done"

"chalo" they went on the floor and started dancing and having fun with each other and their friends.

"Sherni smile"  she put her hand on his chest and they smiled for the photo.

"Kajal take our photos" she said. they held each other closely and then all their friends started clicking them and taking videos her party was a blast.

"Rahul your milk will get cold"

"Haan maa aya.. first I'll see my soon to be wife's photos aree wah she is very pretty and cute" he said seeing her ig account. "Kuch comment likhu" but then he saw something he didn't like.

"Itne sare photos I know they are close and what's this Sherni mendak #shernimendakforever" he went to Facebook instead. "Tagged 10 minutes ago Naira's 21st birthday party and of course Kartik to hoga waha I asked to go out she said headache hai" he shook his head and closed his phone.

"Mendak kya surprise de mujhe" she said with a smile coming into the house

"Naira beta did you go out?"

"Yes papa my friends kept a party for me bahut maza aya tha"

"Accha beta come sit with me..

"Papa I am so tired can we talk tomorrow?"

"Ok princess sweet dreams"

"Love you papa" she said then headed upstairs the next day Naira did her dance practice

"Wow I didn't know you dance so nicely" Naira stopped seeing a stranger seeing her dance was weird.

"Hey.. you here?" She said wearing her duppata properly.

"Kartik beta tumne shaadi ke bare mein socha kuch ab Naira ka bhi rishta tai hochuka tume bhi sochna chaiye I have one girl in mind..

"Kartik organised it so obviously he would know come inside I'll make some tea or coffee what do you drink?" She said walking off changing the topic which she was good at.

"I'll have a black coffee" he said in silence she made it for him they spoke about general stuff but then he asked her something which annoyed her.

"Why you so interested to know about Kartik he is my childhood friend so I am close to him I always will be" she said

"Naira Suvarna aunty ka phone aya Kartik ka rishta te hogaya"

"Wow really papa that's great" she said

"You seem very happy for your friend" he said he was glad to know that Kartik was also getting engaged.

"Obviously I will be" she said she then decided to go for coffee with Rahul because her dad insisted on it.

"Beta I am glad Naira has gone out with Rahul and Kartik ne ladki pasand karli"

"Maa ji accha hai if they are happy bas meri princess khush rahe aur Kartik bhi"

"Haan haan" said dadi, just then the door clicked Naira sneaked upstairs

"World's most boring date ever! 0 connection" she said changing her Jeans and wearing her shorts.

"Mendak ko konsi ladki pasand ayi" she thought, the next day she went to his house.

"Hello maa Kartik hai ghar pe?"

"Naira my dear how are you congratulations on your rishta your dadi informed me"

"Thanks aunty I heard about Kartik too..

"He is upstairs go meet him he will tell you about her" Naira climbed up the stairs and opened his door

"Mendak ko mendaki mubarak" she said

"Mumma ki friend ki beti Tisha she seems alright I guess" he said

"So when do I get to meet this Tisha by the way I had my 1st date yesterday "

"Esa kuch bhi nai" she smacked him when he started laughing. "Accha suno mujhe milna hai Tisha ko"

"Yah soon"

"Fine if you don't want me to meet her then I won't" she said getting off his bed.

"Cuddles" he held her hand stopping her from leaving.

"I have an idea you call Rahul and I'll call her we can all go out" he said but she clicked her tongue in refusal.

"nai we don't know each other that well ke hum chaaro bahar jaye"

"ok..yah your right"

"Look papa is coming and his birthday is this weekend you can meet her then" he said  the weekend came quick.

"Mendak!" She said covering his eyes with her palms

"Sherni" he smiled

"Hi" she said he hasn't seen her since a few days he they smiled with full teeth they hugged

"Mmm itni busy hogaye" he said squeezing her.

"Hey tujhe milna hai kisi se"

"Papa Naira is here" he said taking her through.

"Naira beta"

"Hi papa" Manish hugged her. "Kaisa hai bacha?"

"I am good" she said with a smile his family adore her. "Hey Tisha when did you come?" He said they were not at the holding hands or hugging stage.

"Abhi who's that"

"Naira hai wait I'll call her" he said

"Naira you want to meet Tisha come" he took her hand

"Tisha this is my Sherni Naira"

"So my mendak has found someone finally it's nice to meet you Tisha" she said she shook her hand.

"Mendak come ek second kuch baat karni hai" she took him by the hand.

"Bol"

"Acchi hai good choice" he hugged her "thank you, your opinion counts alot"

"Accha suno mein na change karke ati hu" she said

"Haan but hurry we will cut the cake soon" he said

"Haan" she kissed his cheek "see you in a bit" Naira went home and got changed quickly.

"Naira where are you going?"

"Kartik's house its papa's birthday"

"Naira ruko tujhe waha jane ki koi zarurat nai hai Kartik is there with his to be wife" she said

"Haan I know I just met her..

"I am not against your friendship but after marriage you both will go your separate ways"

"Esa kuch nai hoga.. theekh hai aaj nai jaungi but we will stay friends always" she said

Naira didn't go to the party somewhere her dadi's  words bothered her mind.

"Naira abhi tak nai aye" he said looking at his watch.

"Beta where is Naira?" Said Suvarna

"Pata nai mumma maybe something came up..but it's not like her to not call me."

"Does she always call you?" Said Tisha "relax she has her own family your dad is waiting to cut the cake" said Tisha

"Hmm ok.." he said

" why didn't you come to the party you know I waited for you" he said when she finally picked up his call.

"Sorry actually come over kuch baat karni hai" she told him, he went over to hers dadi wasn't home and her papa was at work.

"Come in" she said

"Kya baat hai" he held her shoulders from the back "I was just sketching.. she said "let's sit inside" he released her and they sat on the sofa.

"Shernimendakfoever?" She asked

"Yes of course your my partner in crime" he said

"Haan but after we are married will we meet like this?"

"Yes why not your my best friend Naira"

"Par dadi said marriage ke baad priority changes"

"To be honest she is right but we are not just any people" he said

"We are shernimendak cuddlesnuggles"

"Haan but I don't want to lose this bond" she said then hugged him.

"Nai hoga" he kissed the top of her head.. "so have you sorted your engagement date it better not clash with mine"

"Tumne date fix kardi?" She asked

"nai abhi tak nai" he held her hand "I'll always be there for you married or not" she squeezed his.

"Me too" she hugged him again.

Some days passed they both got busy in their lives..

"Naira please stop comparing me to Kartik and after we get married you can't meet with him"

"what why do you have such an issue I even told you why and my bond with him..

"Yeah fair enough but even he is getting married don't be around him too much he may not like it" he said

"He may not like it? You don't even know him I want you to leave my home right now" she said

" I didn't want to upset you but..

"Rahul leave mujhe abhi tumhe koi baat hi nai karni" she said and he left. He really irritated her mood and now she was feeling down.

"Teddy mein aur mendak ki friendship hamesha rehegi na" she was talking to her bear she didn't even have dinner she was feeling low about what the future may have in store.

Kartik was asleep it was around 11pm..

"Kartik?" He stirred "Naira what time is it?"

"Kartik can I sleep here tonight I've had a bad day"

"Do you have to even ask? Come here" he said she came next to him and got on the bed.

"we will stay friends na" she said with tear escaping

"Sherni he pulled her closer "come into my arms and forget all this rubbish talk" she felt relieved at his words she came closer burying her face in his t-shirt he cushioned her head and kissed her temple holding each other they fell asleep.
