Paper Cut

Kai's POV

  Amelia and I are sitting in the lab reviewing some reports from an experimental trial we did involving cells the other day. It was a very minor experiment, but it's always good practice conduct minor experiments in addition to major ones and/or trials. I'm trying to focus on reading the copy of the notes I printed out, but Amelia's beauty keeps distracting me. I avoid her gaze for a minute so I can properly conclude whether our experiment had an overall positive or negative result. Amelia puts her head on my shoulder and looks at the notes. "It looks like our cell experiment was a success." 

     Just as I'm about to conclude that for myself also, my left thumb is scraped by the staple in the notes and blood gushes out. I blurt out "Shit!" and look around for a band-aid. Amelia smirks at me as she manages to find a first-aid kit right by her feet. "Kai, you're so stinking adorable, even when you curse over getting a paper cut. I roll my eyes playfully and let Amelia nurse me back to health, which includes cleaning my cut and applying two band-aids on my thumb. Once the bleeding begins to subside, she pulls my hand her to mouth. She presses soft kisses onto each of my fingers, giving me a long and passionate one on my injured thumb. 

     My heart melts and I stare at Amelia with all of the love I feel in my heart for her. "Thank you babe. I love you." She cups my face gently and pulls me in for a passionate kiss. I kiss her back with an equal amount of passion and am breathless when we pull apart. "I love you too Kai, so very much." And to think that a stupid paper cut triggered this beautiful moment between us... gosh I'm so lucky. 

*Quick Author's Note: I am leaving for a week long vacation early Tuesday morning so I most likely will not be posting any updates during that period. I look forward to posting again upon my return! :) -Mary
