Casino Night

Kai's POV

   Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital decided to throw a fundraiser event last week with a very unique theme to it, that being Casino Night. The fundraiser is being held tonight to help raise extra money for the hospital. This is the first fundraiser that the hospital has held in years. I'm Amelia's date for Casino Night and I'm both excited and nervous. We've come out as a couple to a few people in private, but tonight is the big night to reveal our truth to everyone. I've chosen out a navy blue suit with aqua blue dress shirt to complete the darker blue tones of my suit. I also have blue slacks and a wristwatch to complete my outfit. 

     Amelia is going to be wearing a dress for tonight's function but hasn't given me any hints as to what it looks like. She's currently getting ready right now. I'm already ready and am sitting on the edge of Amelia's bed waiting for her to finish up. 

About Fifteen Minutes Later...

    The bathroom door that's adjacent to Amelia's bedroom finally squeaks open and I immediately gasp at the sight of Amelia's beauty. She's wearing a long and flowy aqua blue dress that compliments my suit so well. Her dress has a few ruffles in it, making her look extra regal. She also has applied some light makeup and jewelry that help her dress pop even more, but yet aren't too much. I bite my lip and smile at her. "You look absolutely radiant Amelia, truly." She blushes and smiles back at me. "Thank you, you look so attractive Kai." I extend an elbow for her to take. Amelia giggles and loops her arm through my elbow after grabbing her purse. The two of us then head to the hospital to begin our Casino Night adventures.

About twenty minutes later...

  We arrive to Casino Night about five minutes due to city traffic tonight. There's already a pretty large crowd in the main lobby and numerous "casino" games occurring. The games appear to include Blackjack, Poker, a few slot machines in action, and Roulette. For food, there is a massive buffet spread that I am eager to hit up... along with an array of alcoholic beverage options. Amelia hugs me before letting me know that she's going to hang out with Meredith and Maggie for a few minutes before grabbing any food or drinks. I scoop up a bottle of Beer, a cheeseburger with french fries and steamed vegetables and make my way over to a table to begin eating. I watch Amelia fondly while I begin to down some food, which is absolutely delicious. 

    Amelia eventually makes her way over to me with a dish full of rice, beans, and a cup of chicken noodle soup. She also has a glass of strawberry sangria wine. "Hey Kai, I'm sorry for losing track of time with my sisters. We're known to do that. They'd like to come over and hang out with us after if that's okay. I nod with a smile. "That's absolutely okay. Meredith and Maggie are both awesome, they both know about us so I feel comfortable with them." Amelia and I enjoy our meal in our quaint corner table before getting back out onto the floor to socialize for the evening. 

       Meredith and Maggie join us soon after and the four of us get absolutely wasted together. Somewhere in our drunken states, I find the courage to bend Amelia over my knee and kiss her... in front of everyone. Instantly, all eyes are on us but I try to tune them as I continue to make out with Amelia in this position for another minute or so before gently lifting her back up. When we both come up for air, there's not a single hateful glare thrown our way but rather a lot of smiles and even some applause, which causes the both of us to blush. Amelia laughs. "I guess the cat's out of the bag, right Kai?" I laugh. "I guess so. I don't regret it though, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. How about you?" She nods in agreement. "I feel the exact same way. By the way, I adore you Kai." I poke her on the nose gently like the dork that I am. "And I'm smitten with you Amelia Shepherd." 

       I know that I'm gambling in giving love a chance again after nothing but extreme pain and anguish, but there's just something so special about Amelia that I'm willing to risk it all to get to be her partner... and I'm falling in love.
