"It's not the first time I have left Kailash" I thought while being in the office of the director of the college looking at shuban handling all the formalities with ease

I was playing in my room when a loud noise came from the mansarovar lake. I tried to ask nandi baba about it but I couldn't find him, so I ran towards mansarovar lake and saw my mother crying next to a dead body.

My whole body numbed seeing the scene in front of my eyes, I can't see my maa crying like that, never until I am alive, then why is she crying right now, what is troubling her so much when her son is here to take away all her worries.

I was moving ahead to just run to her and hug her but just as I moved a bit forward, I saw many other people were also standing there. I don't know anyone of them, and they don't matter, I have to go to my maa, but just as I was taking another step I saw maa ran towards pitashree

"Yeh aapne kya kiya pranath, krudh mai apne hi putr ka vadh kardiya"

Apne hi putr kar vadh, I looked at my hands and touched my face

"Parantu mai toh purn roop se kushal hu maa" I thought to myself

"Aur aap sab devgan, chup chap khade apni aankho ke saamne yeh sab hota hua dekhte rahe" Maa said to the other people standing this

But I was still confused, my mind was not processing what she just said

"Apne putr ka vadh"

Mere paschat koi aur putr? Par kab? Kaise? Aur kyu? I always thought that my parents will not need another son.

"Kisi ko iss nanhe se balak par daya nahi aayi? Kya ek nadhan balak ko harana itna awashayak tha ki sab devta yaha ekhata huye hai?" Maa asked everyone

I was on the verge of crying, how could my maa love someone else so much

"Boliye aap sab chup kyu hai?" My maa's cries brought me back from my thoughts

"If he is so loved by my maa, he will be loved by me as well" I decided

"But he is not anymore, and who is he anyway" my mind said to me

"Shaant hogaya aapka krudh? Iss nanhe se balak ke pran lekar? Nahi hua toh mere bhi pran lelijiye" Maa said to pitashree

"Maa, kadhachit nahi" I wanted to shout but couldn't

"Mujhe apna putr wapas chaiye, Jeevit" Maa ordered

"Aapko isse pran daan dena hoga, anayatha mai bhi yaha pran tyaag dungi" she continued looking towards pitashree

I have to do something, I can't let anything happen to maa.

"Yeh aap kya keh rahi hai devi" Someone said to maa

"Mai nayah maang rahi hu bramh dev, mera Putr nirdush tha, woh meri aagya ka palan kar raha tha"

"Shama kar devi, par kisi mrit prani ko jeevit karna asambhav hai" Pitashree said

No I can't see my maa like this , you will have to do something about it pitashree

"Toh mera jeevit rehna bhi asambhav hai" Maa declared

"Yadi issi samay mere putr ko punar jeevit nahi kiya gaya toh mai bhi pran tyaag dungi"

As much as I was hating the fact of her calling someone other than me her putr, I can't let anything happen to her

"Aapne krodh vash apne hi putr ka vadh kardiya bholenath, ab aapko devi parvati ka agray sweekar kar, Balak ganesh ko jeevan daa dena hi hoga, anayta unki krodh ki aagni, saari srishti ko tehas nehas kar degi" someone said

"Devi Lakshmi uchit keh rahi hai bholenath, Devi parvati ka agray anuchit nahi hai" the one maa addressed as brahma dev said

"Krudh mai aapne jo anuchit karya kiya hai uska yahi prayashcit ho sakta hai bholenath, anhankar tyaag kar devi parvati ki prathana sweekar kijiye bholenath" Another person said

"Yeh sambhav nahi hai Narayan, mere shastr ke prahar se jo sar dhar se alag hogaya, woh dobara jodha nahi jaa sakta"

"Tab toh ek hi upay hai, kisi aur balak ka mastak, jo aapke shastr se nah kata gaya ho, balak ganesh ke dhar se jodha jaa sakta hai" Brahma dev explained

Pitashree was looking unsure of the suggestion
"Sochne mai samay vyast mat kijiye turant apne gano ko aadesh dijiye"

"Jao kisi aise balak ka sir lekar aao jiska chehra utar disha mai ho aur jiski maa apne putr ki taraf peeth karke so rahi ho, der mat karo, agar samay nikal gaya toh yeh kabhi jeevit nahi ho payega" Pitashree ordered

"Can I also go for the search?" I thought, no you are young, you shouldn't leave kailash, I knew that would be the answer

When waiting for them, maa was continously crying while pitashree was passing around. After a while all the gans of Kailash came back with a mastaksh of a gajah. Everyone was shocked to see them

"Aree murkho, yeh kya le aaye" pitashree asked them

"Prabhu, aapne jo aadesh diya tha, uske anusar yahi ek balak mila, hum uska mastak le aaye" one of the gans said

"Soch ne ka samay nahi hai bholenath, issi mastak ko jod ke balak ganesh ko jeevit kijiye" Brahma dev said

"Gajah ka mastak, mera bhai ek gajah hoga" I thought absorbing my shock

Pitashree placed the mastak alongside the body lying and started chanting some mantras

"Om namah shivay, Om namah shivay, Om namah shiavay"

And some light started illuminating from that head and the body of ganesh, and slowly that head attached to the body and the body started waking up and a smile crept on maa's face and I was so happy to see that

Everyone was so happy, their faces glowing with the satisfaction and joyfulness and then maa kneeled and opened her arms for him to come and hug

"Maa" ganesh said and ran to hug her.

Tears pooled in my eyes on the scene, as much as I don't like anyone else calling her maa, the emotions playing on her face and the scene playing in front of me made me happy for her. It could be fun to have a younger brother I thought.

I was just thinking this when pitashree came near maa and said

"Lo devi yeh jeevit hogaya"

"Aapne isse jeevit toh kardiya prabhu, parantu isse roop mai sab isse dekhkar iska mazak banayenge" maa replied to pitashree to which Bramha dev replied

"Chinta mat kijiye devi, mai isse vardhan deta hu Ki yugo yugo tak log iski pooja karenge, yeh adbhut balak prithvi wasiyo ka kalyan karega"

"Mai isse vardhan deti hu, ki jab bhi koi shubh kary hoga sabse phele ganesh ka pujan kiya jayega" Devi Lakshmi said

"Yeh balak vidhaya aur bhudhi ka data hoga, har mandir aur ghar mai iski sathpana ki jayegi, log isse humesha ladoo ka bhog lagayenge" Shri Narayan said

I didn't liked it much though I didn't said anything either.

Ganesh was always engrossed in books and granths and purans and I was a warrior so he didn't affected me much.

One day I was practicing my skills along with some gans and when I came back from the practice I saw Ganesh lying on the swing and eating his ladoos and mushak while I arrived there with my Paravani (peacock).

"You have became really lazy by just sitting and eating" I said to him
"You don't have the knowledge of my powers" he commented when Pitashree called us both to him

"Pranam Pitashree" we both said in unison

"Ayushmaan bhav putaro"

"Narad Muni had visited and gave me a mango. Now this was not an ordinary mango but a special one given to him by Lord Brahma. The one who ate it would gain knowledge and wisdom. But only one person can consume it"

Now Pitashree was in a predicament. Which of his two sons should he give the mango to? After consulting with Maa , he decided to hold a competition between the us and make the mango the prize.

"Boys, here is your challenge," Pitashree told us. "The first person to go around the world three times will win this mango."

I knew I could easily win this challenge, I mean I am obviously more quick than ganesh and I have my Paravani and no chance that mushak can compete with my paravani.

I jumped on the Paravani's back and we flew high into the sky.

Ganesh, calmly sitting on his mouse, didn't move at all.

"Just let me think for a moment," Ganesh said to his parents.

As Ganesh thought, Kartikeya zoomed past in a blur of feathers.

"I've been around the world once already, Ganesh! Better get moving," Kartikeya laughed.

Ganesh had another idea. He stood up and walked in a circle around his parents three times. They didn't understand what he was doing. Ganesh looked at their puzzled faces and said,

"You are my parents. You are my whole world! And if that is not enought you are the source and creators of the whole world. Walking around you three times is the same as going around the world."

"How clever!" they said, and they gave him the prize of the golden mango. Shiva and Parvati were amazed by Ganesh's idea. They thought he deserved the prize of the golden mango and the power of knowledge and wisdom. When Kartikeya saw the mango in Ganesh's hands, he was upset.

I was not liking the fact that Ganesh won, he might have a great thinking but that was not what the competition was about. I was really upset and left Kailash. I can't bear the sight of my parents loving someone else more than me.
