Kaia

Dani and I watched the sun set from out on the balcony. She couldn't believe how beautiful the sight was. I had such a good time with her today just catching up. I told her all my problems and she listened without judging, as usual. She offered advice wherever she could and I'm happy she came by today. I would've had a mental breakdown if I spent the day alone, especially with how Ash was acting.

We were now all laid up in my bed, just staring out the huge window.

"This place is breathtaking. You could easily clear your mind just walking by the water" Dani tells me, beaming.

"I know" I respond in a low tone, giving her half a smile.

"What's the rent like?" she asks, turning over sideways to face me.

"I actually have no idea, to be honest. Ashton never gave me a straight answer about it" I inform her. Although we were living together, there were some things that he never shared. Like how much this place costs, for example.

"Oh, I see" Dani answers quietly.

"Why? Are you and West looking to move in together?" I quickly ask before the topic would change.

"Girl, no way. I don't wanna live with West. He's too...messy" she complains, scrunching her nose up.

We stay silent for a couple of seconds before bursting out in laughter.

"But he's your boyfriend. How can you say that?" I say in between laughs, unable to control it.

"I know, I know" Dani answers, her laughter dying down but face still red. "But for real girl, he can't clean up after himself. He always eats out 'cause he can't cook and the list goes on."

I sit up and fix my hair, tying it in a neat bun.

"Well, that's why he needs you" I tell her sweetly, placing a hand on her shoulder. I give her the biggest smile but really it's covering up the laugh I really want to let out.

"He needs a nanny" Dani says firmly, rolling her eyes.

"It must be miserable being here on your own. You could always come back to me, you know" Dani tells me, gripping my hand even tighter as we wait outside for her taxi.

"Well, I haven't actually been all alone. Umm, Axel's here. Yeah" I say awkwardly, tucking absolutely nothing behind my ear. I've developed such an annoying habit of doing that.

"Hold the phone!" Dani announces, holding up both hands infront of me. I look at her in confusion. What?

"You mean to tell me that oh you just casually forgot to mention that Axel Parker was here?" Dani asks me, wide-eyed.

"It slipped my mind. It's not that important, anyway" I tell her, chuckling nervously.

Dani folds her arms and gives me a stern look. I tense up and swallow hard, ready to expect the unexpected. But to my suprise her face changes into a giant smirk.

"You had the whole day to tell me but I'm guessing you saved the best for last. Now spill, what's happened between you two?" Dani asks curiously, moving closer to fill the space between us. Her inner journalist is out again and this time I'm it's victim.

"Nothing has happened. There are some rules concerning boundaries that need to be set but other than tha---"

"Ohhhh! He tried it, didn't he? Oh my gosh, now you bring up this juicy scandal. When I'm about to leave?! Cancel that taxi, I'm not going anywhere" Dani says firmly, sitting on the steps.

"Dani! Really, there's no need. And there's certainly no scandal here. Axel's behaving himself, believe it or not. He just has to learn to put some clothes on"

"Oh my goodness! You've seen him naked?! Kaia, what?" Dani gasps, covering her mouth with her hands. Her eyes wide like this was her next big story.

"God, no! I haven't seen him naked. I haven't seen anyone naked, Dani. Keep your mouth down!" I half-shout back, looking around to see if anyone was listening in to our silly conversation.

"Ay, now who has Kaia seen naked around here?" A loud voice suddenly greets us.

"No one" Dani and I say in unison before turning to see who it was.

"Axel, what a pleasant suprise" Dani says breathlessly, reaching out to shake Axel's hand.

"Always nice to see you, Danielle" Axel greets her. He takes her hand up to his lips and places a gentle peck on it. Dani eyes me with a raised eyebrow and mouthes 'wow', a suprised look on her face. In return I roll my eyes at her.

"Kaia was just seeing me off. My taxi should be here any minute now" Dani informs Axel. I stand idly with my arms crossed, pretending to look out for the taxi. This is so awkward.

"Oh, what a shame. We must have a proper catch up some other time" He tells her, flashing a brilliant smile.

"Yeah, sure thing" Dani replies quickly, smiling up at him.

I pull out my phone and send her a quick text.

Are you forgetting that you have a boyfriend? I could remind you out loud if you'd like :p

Dani's phone pings once and she quickly reads my text. She snorts and types back before putting her phone away. A second later my phone vibrates.

OH SHUT UP! :D

On cue, her taxi arrives and I'm quickly pulled into the tightest hug.

"See you on campus" she says before getting into the taxi.

I nod my head and shut the door for her. Soon as the car disappears, I turn to face Axel who was still standing there.

"How's that head of yours?" He asks, giving me a nod.

Thinking of what to say, I decide to make him feel worse by pretending it still hurts. This should be fun.

"Worse. It's gotten worse" I tell him, touching my head as I walked up the stairs. I wanted to smile when I saw a look of concern on his face but I played it off by clearing my throat. 

"Well, have you had any painkillers? Besides the one this morning" He asks quickly, remaining closely behind me like a lost puppy.

"Yep" I answer unenthusiastically. "Didn't work."

I unlock the door and step inside, Axel follows me in and shuts the door behind him, locking it. I walk into the living room and plonk myself on the couch. Axel takes off his jacket and tosses it carelessly on the armchair.

My eyes grew wide with shock as he came closer to me, standing infront of me. I looked up at him, clueless.

"What?" I ask, rolling my eyes at him. I wanted to switch on the TV but he was clearly blocking the way.

Axel sighs and pushes me to the side, occupying the space next to me. He looks at me sideways and opens his arms.

"Lay down, I'm going to give you a head massage."
