song: the killing moon by echo and the bunnymen

HIS BLOOD HIT HER FIRST, A WARM WELCOME INTO THE LIFE SHE HAD JUST CHOSEN. It spurted from his throat, covering her face, her clothes. Daisy stumbled back a bit as she watched Tommy fall down onto the ground under his feet. Her eyes wide, she slowly lifted them up from Tommy and too Kai, too petrified to move from the position she stayed frozen in.

Kai breathed heavily, a smile twitching at his lips as he watched the last glimpse of life fall from Tommy's eyes. He didn't expect it to happen this fast, but he couldn't say he wasn't glad it did. His eyes flicked up from Tommy to see a terrified Daisy standing over his body.

Kai steppes towards her hesitantly, not wanting to startle her by any sudden movement. Even in the pitch black woods, he could see the blood that drenched her body. She shook her head quickly, "I—" She struggled for words. "I don't—"

"It's okay." Kai nodded cautiously, continuing to walk towards her. Her body trembled as she brought the knife back into her line of sight, examining it with frantic eyes. "It's okay." He whispered, slowly reaching his hand out and taking the knife from her. "You did good." He nodded, unsure what to say.

Daisy brought a hand up to her throat, itching at it as she felt the inability to breathe creep up on her body. She quickly stumbled backwards and turned around, coiling over and vomiting onto the dead leaves of the woods.

Kai watched contently, he expected this reaction for her first time, but he also knew she had to get past this if they were to be together. He'd be patient for now.

Daisy wiped her mouth, only smearing more blood onto her face, as she turned back to face Kai again. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped when they both turned their head to the road as the sound of a car zoomed past.

"Shit. Shit." Daisy spoke frantically, starting to pace.

Kai grabbed onto her shoulders, stopping her from freaking herself out even more. "We're fine." He raises his eyebrows, getting in her face and making sure she really heard him. Kai could feel Daisy shake under his touch, her wide eyes in contrast to his calm composure. "Come on." He nodded back to where they left the car, starting to walk towards it.

"But—" Daisy says, motioning towards Tommy's lifeless body that lay still under their feet.

Kai clenched his jaw, wondering how many times he was going to have to tell her that he had everything figured out. If she trusted him, like she said, then she wouldn't be freaking out so bad. "Leave it." Kai says, grabbing her hand and leading her back to the car.

The car. The same car that Kai flicked a hand and disappeared on sight. Daisy squeezed her eyes shut, trying to think if she really saw that happen only five minutes ago. "How did you... the car— you froze him." Daisy stumbled on her words. As they got to the edge of the woods, Kai looked around for any passing cars before waving a hand— the car reappearing. "What the fuck?!" Daisy scoffs nervously, in complete disbelief.

"Get in, quickly." Kai says, opening the drivers seat and getting in his car.

Daisy swallows, rushing over to the other side of the car and sitting down beside him. "Please tell me what— how you just did that?" She asked, her words actually beginning to sound like sentences.

Kai tossed the knife back into the glove compartment and Daisy clenched her jaw as she watched him shut it. He turned the car on. "I'm a witch." He spoke nonchalantly. "Whole family is."

Daisy shook her head, her body still trembling as Kai started driving. It was odd, as his response was one of the more believable excuses that she thought up. She would've argued with him, told him he was crazy, but she just saw upfront that he wasn't lying. "Josette?" Was the only thing she could think to say back.

Kai nods. "Yes."

Daisy face turned back to the road. She couldn't relax, she could barely breathe. So much had just happened in only an hour, and she had no idea what to do next. She had just murdered her boyfriend.

Her eyes trailed down to the blood on her hands, she examined them shakily. "I can't go home." She spoke, not to Kai, mostly to herself.

"I know." Kai says, turning into their neighborhood. "You can clean up at my place, no one's home."

She could feel it, building like an unstoppable snowball in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't concentrate on anything else that she was doing. Daisy had completely destroyed all progress she had made in making herself better, and she didn't know if she was relieved or terrified.

Watching as Kai pulled into his driveway, she caught glance of her house. The Jack-o-lanterns's candles, that she had carved with her family only that morning, were slowly fading as the Halloween came to an end.

There was no coming back from this.

Kai turned the car off, got out, and came to the other side of the car to get Daisy. He opened her door, and gently grabbed her hand, helping her out. Blood covered his seats from where she sat, but he'd get it later.

He led her inside, shutting and locking the front door behind him. He didn't bother to turn on any lights, but guided her right upstairs to his room.

Kai shut his bedroom door, then walked right into his bathroom to wash off the little amount of blood he had on his hands.

He glanced in his mirror to see Daisy still near his door, frozen in place, staring at the ground. Kai smiled to himself, proud that he had constructed this so perfectly. He turned the sink off, wiping his hands on a towel, and leaning against the bathroom doorway to watch her.

The sigh that escaped her lips was slow, as if her brain needed that time to process what had happened. Her eyes remained fixed on the ground, only to flicker up to Kai, a grin appearing on her face.

"Fuck." She said, a laugh escaping her lips. Her body relaxed as she brought her hands up to her blood soaked hair. "Fuck." She repeated, chuckling. Kai leaned off the doorway, smiling proudly back at her as he stepped closer. "What the fuck did we just do?" She shook her head in disbelief, the smile still on her lips.

Kai threw the towel he was still drying his hands with on his dresser and shrugged. "That was fun." He nodded, then taking his long coat off and tossing it onto a chair.

Daisy was feeling a lot of things right now, fun was not something she had considered, but when he said it, she agreed. "It was." She replied. She brought her hands up into view, examining them. Her nerves still lingered, as her body shivered, but she felt pleased.

Kai cocked his head to the side and studied her, trying to read her blank expression. He stepped closer to her, and she looked up at him as he slowly and gently grabbed her blood covered hands, their bodies only inches from each other. Neither of them dared to break eye contact, as he brought her hand up to his mouth, kissing her knuckles gently.

Daisy's body fluttered at his touch, staring into blue eyes that looked much darker than usual. She felt his coarse hands hold hers, readjusting their position so he could place gentle kisses onto every inch of them. The acceleration of her heart-rate had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with what her body really wanted. There is no smile on his lips, only the hot intensity of his gaze that they both knew is the start of the inferno to come.

As if a switch had flipped in both of their heads at the same time, Kai quickly grabbed her lower back, forcefully pulling her closer towards his body. Daisy gasped at the sudden change, but melted into his him as she felt his hand gently grip her throat, pushing her up against his bedroom wall.

She hardly had a moment to react before he pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips and, at her grant of access, delved inside her mouth. It was a very strong kiss, with the scent of alcohol being exchanged in the intermingling of their billowing breaths. Her arms reached up and tangled around his shoulders. In an instant she had pulled away and arched up into his broad chest, moaning in the contact of body heat against her own, before she drew back into his lips. Daisy could nearly feel the slight burn of the alcohol as it rolled off her tongue and seeped down her throat with every push of his tongue against hers.

When she kissed him his brain lit on fire and the warmth spread throughout his entire body. These kisses were his salvation and his torment.

Kai brought his kisses down to her neck, practically devouring her as she gripped onto his back, digging her nails into his skin as he got himself covered in the blood, too. He drew back again and spent a moment studying her face. Daisy felt her blush deepen under his scrutiny. He tilted her head to the side and kissed her again, his lips demanding. Daisy felt a smoldering heat deep within her as Kai's grip tightened, crushing her body to his, gentle yet firm. He slanted her head further, deepening the kiss.

Daisy pushed him off of her quickly, earning a confused and panicked look from him. Blood covered his face, his back, his arms, every inch of both of them. He studied her face as it shifted into a menacing expression, and he shared it with her as he realized what she was doing.

Daisy stepped off the wall and towards him, Kai's heart beat rapidly in his chest as he backed up onto his bed. Sitting down quickly as she slowly, torturously, leaned back into him. Kai slowly lowered his back onto his bed, breathing heavily as he felt Daisy straddle his body. She sat up, unzipping her bloodied dress and slowly pulling it off her. Kai leaned back and watched, eagerly waiting for her touch again.

She grazed a hand over his cheek as she leaned down, connecting their lips. She tugged at his shirt, pulling it up and off his head.
He goes to sit up, an attempt to deepen the kiss, eager and impatient. Daisy pushed him back down.

"Daisy—" Kai whispered, she cut him off by kissing his lips. He kisses back, his hands come up to her neck and hair. She pulls away, grabbing his hands gently and placing them back down by his sides.

"No touching." She whispers.

"That's not fair." He sulks.

She kisses him again. It's a slow process but she wanted to enjoy it, she wanted him to enjoy it. She stopped kissing his lips and moved to his jawline, neck, and collarbone. Kissing every inch, she could feel the struggle to keep his hands down.

Daisy pulled away for a second to come up for air, and Kai took it as his chance. He firmly grabbed her arms, flipping her over onto the bed into the position he was just previously in. Her eyes widen in frustration for only a second before she relaxed again. She leaned up off the bed, keeping balance on her elbows as she brought a hand up to his toned body. She fumbled with his assortment of necklaces, before slowly dragging her hand down his chest, blood smearing onto his skin. He breathed heavily, watching her with dark eyes, before quickly leaning back down to her.

Every kiss had a raw intensity— breathing fast, heart rates faster. Then before they knew how it happened, they were naked and their skin was moving softly together. She felt his hand enter from below moving fast, their tongues entwined in a kiss, and then he's inside, changing her breathing with every thrust, hearing her moans timed to his body. Then all at once he stops and kisses from her breasts to her stomach, his hands light; then he's licking and using his fingers all at once, watching her reaction, feeling how her legs move, watching her body writhe.

Kai had wanted this for so long now, craved her body, her tongue tasting his breath. Daisy had just done the one thing that ties you to a person forever, and he knew she would never leave him now.

She couldn't.

here's a lil reminder about this book if you've forgotten :)

this story is loosely based on many other iconic movies and shows and stories, so if anything sounds familiar— it was on purpose. :)

i also want to note that this relationship does get very toxic as the story continues— so just a little warning ahead of time. i thought this relationship would be a very interesting dynamic, and something a lot darker than i've written before. i don't condone relationships like the one's in this book.
