He doesn't know from how long he had been staring blankly at the wall like his eyes are gonna bore a hole inside the wall unless his eyes emitted laser. He let out few sighs just to let the breath leave his body and stir in his position. If it wasn't for his mother's shrill Sanskar would have never even thought of blinking at that time.
Now when his prolonged staring business was disturbed he took a deep breath and his chest beamed and fell after a second and his shoulders dropped following. “Yeah mom” he just replied to his mother not even knowing what she actually asked him just guessing her usual rants.
After a hot water shower he walked out and dressed himself in a white full sleeve shirt and black pants. As he strode down the staircase his father who was enjoying his toast just dropped it looking at his son. Sanskar sat beside his father and grabbed a glass and poured himself mixed fruit juice. He felt a pair of eyes looking at him and turned to find his father gaping at him.
He cocked his one eye brow not understanding why was his father was giving that look. “You never wear this combo” he said finally gulping down that piece of bread which seemed like it was stuck forever in the old man's throat. His father reached for his glass to gulp down the juice in still staring at his son and hoping for an answer.
“I.. I just felt like wearing it” he took the glass and placed it near his lips to gulp the juice down his throat in a go. “Oh you are finally here? Thank you for blessing us with your presence” his mother walked from the kitchen with a plate of breakfast along with few of her signature taunts. Surprisingly Sanskar did not even flinch as he broke a piece of bread and stuffed it in his mouth. His father narrowed his eyes a bit finding his son's behavior odd.
“Bye” Sanskar got up from his seat and walked out holding his coat. His mother's mouth was still open as she did not expected her son to walk off without reverting a word while they were in the middle of a conversation. This was so unlikely of Sanskar. However annoyed he was he was not heartless enough to get up when his mother was talking to him though none of it made sense to him he still used to respect her.
His father's gaze followed his son's back completely not understanding why was he behaving so strange all of a sudden. Sanskar drove off to college and walked to the staff room where his colleagues were discussing something which anyways never bothered him. He opened his drawer and took out some papers he had to grade.
Ragini was walking in the hallway absent minded. Why has her life turned this way? What has she ever done to deserve all this. Rabecca was talking something which was far from entering her brain right now. Her steps stopped at the door of the staff room without asking for her consent. She peered her eyes to look inside and her eyes scanned the whole room and caught a sight of him.
Sanskar was engrossed in his work completely. Her eyes started to tear and she felt a sore lump forming in her throat. Suddenly his touch, cologne, lips, eyes everything made her feel numb. She couldn't deny the fact that her heart galloped whenever she even thought about him. Her vision was blurring with each passing second.
Sanskar felt someone's presence at the door and looked up and their eyes painfully locked. He so much wanted to drift his gaze but could he really do that right now? Not at this moment when his mind only wanted to drown in her brown orbs for forever. Suddenly his brain replayed all the moments when his heart was racing due to her closeness, his uncontrollable mind when he kissed her and that was one hell of a kiss. The moment when he saw her hugging Karan and confessing her feelings to him made the pen in his hand brake and hurt his hand.
His eyebrows furrowed as the pain shot up. He winced in pain and looked at his hand which was bleeding. Ragini's heart stopped beating when she found the blood in his hand. She readied herself to run to him but she stopped when she looked at the teachers who started to surround Sanskar due to the sound of the breaking pen and at the sight of his bleeding hand.
His lips stretched to for a thin line. It wasn't the pain of the bleeding hand but for the sight of Ragini's restlessness when she saw him hurt. The emotions he just noticed right now were making him feel her pain surprisingly more than his own pain. Was she sad? But why? She did not wanted him around. That's what she implied every time they met.
One of his colleagues insisted and took him to the medical room and while he walked out from there his gaze was fixed on Ragini who was still looking at his bleeding hand like all the air inside her was sucked and it was not just the pen which pierced his palm but a huge poisonous dagger which sunk just inside her heart.
“Ragzy” Rebecca who walked back to Ragini saw her running towards the medical room. She stared in confusion for a while and then shrugged her shoulders walking towards the class hoping Ragini might join her later. She met Karan on her way who was obviously searching Ragini.
“Hey” he greeted Rebecca with a smile who smiled back at him. “You must be searching Ragzee” she looked at him and he shyly nodded his head scratching the back of his neck. “Um.. I don't know she went somewhere suddenly and I could not follow her” she said pursing her lips forming a thin line. “Which way can you tell?” he asked. “Towards the medical room. I don't know why she went that way? Oh wait. Library is on the same way. I'm so stupid. She might have gone for a book” Rebecca slapped her forehead lightly.
“Thanks” Karan smiled at her and walked towards the library. Rebecca nodded her head as she walked towards the classroom. “She is not gonna come back then” she told to herself when she took a book from her bag and placed it on the desk. “I wonder why is Diya taken off today? She was so regular to college lately and again started with her business of procrastinating the assignments I guess” she nodded her head when she drifted her gaze from the spot where Diya used to sit.

This was the tenth time that Ragini stopped herself from entering the medical room and just stood near the door watching as the nurse wrapped the band aid across Sanskar's palm. She turned to look at the other side whenever someone walked out of the room and stood pretending that she was there for some purpose but definitely not due to her concern for Sanskar.
When the treatment was done Sanskar lightly smiled at his colleague who walked from there leaving him to take some rest. As he reached the door Ragini again turned and stood looking around again with her pretending skills.
“What are you doing here Ms. Kapoor?” he asked when he found Ragini. She weakly smiled at him. “Sir. Wo I was just out on a project” she said struggling to think. “Project like?” he crossed his arms. It was Professor Dan. There was slight possibility that she could get away from his deadly anger when he found students roaming around missing classes. It was his skill to be horrifying to the students that he was made the in charge of evening detention classes every evening.
“Professor” he heard Sanskar call when he was ready to take all his anger on Ragini for staying out of the class. “I... I had called her as I needed some help to grade the papers. I was feeling over worked lately. Probably she headed straight from the staff room” Sanskar gave a warm smile to Dan. He cooled down and nodded his head and walked from there and Ragini left out a breath she was holding from so long thinking if she was possibly unable to convince Professor Dan that was going to be her last breath.
She closed her eyes for once and then opened them and turned her head to look at Sanskar. He was staring her still which stirred her heart. She walked in hesitantly. She was feeling embarrassed that now she was caught just waiting for him out of the medical room. “Thanks” she said in a low voice. Sanskar stretched his lips forming a thin line. “That's fine.. I mean I am fine... You can leave” he said coldly.
Ragini narrowed her eyes at him. How dare he treat her so rudely. Doesn't he have a little courtesy to thank her for her concern. Why was she even expecting him to be moved by her care. “Sure. If that's all you want” she turned quickly but stopped as her legs could no more listen to her. She closed her eyes frustrated.
“Ms. Kapoor” she heard the nurse's voice and turned with a formal smile. “Thank god you're here” the nurse sighed as she walked to Ragini. “Actually the nurse on the next schedule is running late and I have my son waiting. So can you please take care of professor for a while? I'm sorry I am making you do this but I don't want to miss on my ride” she pleaded and Ragini could not refuse it. She knows Nurse Stacy from the time she started her college and was involved with many charity works outside the college. Right now she was not in a position to refuse her so nodded her head lightly with a warm smile. Nurse Stacy caressed her cheek thanking her for being so understanding. Sanskar watched her silently.
Ragini let out a sigh as she sat on the stool beside his bed. “Really no need to bother. I'm leaving anyways” Sanskar got up from his place to leave but felt a soft touch of a skin a firm grip on his wrist. He looked over his shoulder and found Ragini staring him with stern look.
“You may do that later when your hand gotten enough rest not to infect itself. Besides I don't really bite” she looked away leaving his hand and he sat down still looking at her. “Even if I go chop my hand off my shoulder I really wonder why do you care?” he mocked to which he garnered another look of I am gonna rip you off look from Ragini. Sure she was scary right now.
“Oh please don't think so high of yourself. I'm just here for Nurse Stacy. That kind woman doesn't need to get fired from her job for treating an epitome of duffer like you” Ragini looked away. Sanskar's fumed listening to her.
“You called me what?” he asked raising his eyebrow and hovering her. She felt so tiny in front of him. Though she wanted to scream and run away from there all she could do was just sit watching him. “Ms. Freak out all the time... I see you are speechless” he smirked and Ragini felt an urge to slap him hard. But she realized it was an idiotic professor she was talking to more precisely a jerk who was not afraid of her ruining her Ms. Goody Woody image. She balled her fist and took a real sharp breath closing her eyes.
“You know....” she stood but she tripped over the stool and fell backwards but his strong arms held her waist right on time preventing her back hit the stool. She looked at her back and then turned her head to look at Sanskar who was concerned. “You're okay?” he made her stand straight. She was still breathing heavily. “Yeah” she shook her head. “Until I am away from you I'm just fine” she said bitterly. Sanskar stared her in disbelief. Why was her every word was poking his heart and making it bleed more and more. He has heard worse all his life but suddenly this girl who has entered his life making him feel vulnerable for absolutely no reason.
They heard the door creaking sound and found the next shift nurse enter looking at them. “I will be glad to fulfill this wish of yours as soon as possible” he leaned a bit closer to her. His cologne again filled her nostrils and she felt her hold on herself loosening. She stared him quite as he cast her a angry look and walked away from there in a brisk movement.
She just stood there processing her thoughts to understand what he meant or what he really wanted. She was all calm and prepared all her life and this man made her unprepared for every second which followed after she met him that horrible night.
She closed her eyes and threw her hand in frustration and walked from there not having any clue where she headed. She was clueless for the first time in her life and all that to jerk of a professor.

Karan searched every spot where he could find Ragini but she was no where to be seen in the library. He sighed as his shoulders dropped and he walked out of the library. He walked in the hallway and saw the detention room and remembered his time with Diya. A smile crept on his lips and he nodded his head lightly.
Though Ragini was all around him most of the time he felt he was missing her. And he could not understand why was he feeling so. She was there just in front of him when he talked to her but felt like he was talking to someone else. While they practiced the dance she was right in his arms but like earlier he couldn't hear the music when her fingers interlaced perfectly with his and they moved. All felt more mechanical lately and he was not understanding why was it happening to him.
He sighed and looked at the gate of the college and found Ragini's car disappearing. “Where is she going so soon?” he thought to himself. “Is she alright? I think she went towards the medical room due to some emergency. And I am such a stupid I reached the library from the other way and wasted my time searching her” he nodded his head as he headed towards the parking.

Her eyes really did not wanted to move while her eyes were filled and the tears were ready to drop. She took one more breath to sink in the water rather than wiping those hot tears.
The words kept ringing in her head every time the second hand of the clocked clicked. There was nothing she could do other than just staring the sky from the window of her room.
“D... Will you come down for the lunch at least? I don't know what are you doing in that room from morning though you look all fine” she heard her mother and got up from her place and walked out of the room. She sat on her chair and poked the food with the fork not really willing to eat but to kill the scrambled eggs which were anyways had no life. Her dad watched her concerned. It could never happen in million years that Diya would so silently for such a long time while her mother nagged her continuously.
“Honey” he placed his hand over his wife's to calm her down. Diya watched it while her eye lashes lifted a little up. “No... It's fine” she whispered while she rubbed her nose dropping the fork on the plate.
“It's totally fine dad” she smiled at her father who looked at her with confusion. “I am sorry mom. I can never be the daughter you ever wanted” she then turned her gaze to her mother whose mouth remained open till she gathered herself.
“And I guess I will never want to be like your great daughter” she said getting up. “I precisely have absolutely no clue why is that I'm not accepted. My presence is never approved of her... It is always Ragini... Ragini and Ragini....” she said as she tried to hold the sore lump in her throat.
“Ms. Topper .. Ragini... The gorgeous... Ragini.... The smartest girl of the college... Ragini.... The most talented one... Ragini.... the good daughter... Ragini... She is so perfect.. The one who never disappoints you” she looked at her mother who watched her dazed.
“The one who is always loved” she looked down and Karan's words came running to her as she closed her eyes. “The one with the good fortunes...” she ran from there as she no more could hold her tears from flowing out. Her father was ready to follow her when his eyes fell on Ragini who was standing at the door. Her eyes dropped that tear she was holding and looked baffled. Sure Diya always behaved like she did not liked Ragini from childhood but she was never this bitter.
She could not take this behavior of her twin sister who was like her soul all these years but suddenly what happened? She assured her father that she will manage this and walked towards their room.
“D” Ragini placed her hand over her twin sister's shoulder. Diya pushed it away without turning to face Ragini. Ragini stared her hand for a good amount of time before walking closer to her sister. “Stop... just stop” Diya closed her eyes.
“Don't you try to be the goody woody all the time. I'm not the one who will for this” Diya spoke and Ragini looked at her confused. “But why are so bitter lately D. What happened to you?” she asked concerned.
“You happened” Diya turned sharply facing Ragini who was staring in disbelief. “Why are you in my life? All you did was ruining my life nothing else? Why don't you just die?” Diya burst out and collapsed on the floor as she no more could hold the pain her heart was drowning itself in.
“Just leave me alone” Diya screamed. “I can't” Ragini knelt in front of her placing a hand over her shoulder. “Fine. I really don't want to watch your face right now” Diya stood up and walked out of the home slamming the door behind her. Her parent kept looking at her then they looked up at the twin's room from where they heard now Ragini's sobs. Their mother was about to walk to the room but their father stopped her. “Let them solve it on their own this time. We can't possibly be around them like forever” he said and she nodded her head lightly hoping her family turned normal again.
Diya was furiously walking over the foot path. She felt she was going nowhere and stopped at a bench and sat down as her legs hurt.
She buried her head in her palms as she took deep breaths. She felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped in her place but soon cooled down as she saw the person who was sitting next to her.
“I so knew you aren't well Sunshine” Karan spoke. Strangely he did not feel that she was away from him this time. “What happened to you? Why are you so pale?” he asked concerned. Diya lost herself for the moment when his sweet voice made her heart jump in its rib cage.
She immediately hugged him feeling an urge to pour her heart out. All she could do was cry over his chest. Karan felt his heart dying as every tear left her eye. He rubbed her shoulder trying to make her feel right but he wasn't sure he was successful in doing so till she moved away from him wiping her face.
“That's okay... you can stay like this for as long as you want” he looked down at her. “Is that even possible?” she asked with a sad smile. “It is. And why are you so reluctant about it?” he asked confused. She looked away from him.
“Hey” he said cupping her one cheek and made her to face him. “Don't do this with me” she requested. “Do what?” asked he as his nose wrinkled. She closed her eyes gulping the sore lump down.
“I am already a horrible person” she said as her voice cracked remembering how she behaved with her twin sister just some time ago.
“Shhhh” he placed his finger over her lips slightly touching them. Diya locked her eyes with his. “You are most amazing person I have ever known. Just when I was so disappointed about myself you made me realize how perfect I was. So how can you say you are horrible?” he whispered and she tried hard not to drop those tears out of her eyes looking painfully at him.
“You are misunderstanding me for someone else...” she was cut in again when he leaned to kiss her forehead warmly. “As far as my eyes are concerned they might misunderstand. But as far as my heart is concerned it never tells lie” he smiled at her.
“And there is always time to fix the mess we create only if we have a will to do it” he smiled at her answering her questions even before she shared what was bothering her. How could he just sense what she was feeling right then.
“Why are you so good to me?” she asked shrinking her eyes as the pain shot up realizing she could never have the person who was in front of her as he already belonged to her twin sister from whom she could never even think of snatching him away.
“Because you are good to me. You made me not to give up when all I could do was fret over my flaws. You made me feel how can I have flaws yet be loved” he smiled at her.
He looked into her eyes. “Do you wear lenses?” he asked and Diya stood wiping her face. “Thank you Mr. Prince Charming” she back walked a bit and then ran towards her home.
Karan stood there and again the feeling came alive that he missed an important part of his life. Though he was alive he felt his heart wasn't with him anymore.
Diya hugged Ragini who was standing near the window where earlier Diya stood blankly. She was taken a back. “I am so happy for you twin sister” she said and Ragini turned to her twin sister holding her arm.
She looked confused as she saw a heavenly smile on Diya's face. She cupped Diya's face with one hand. “D...” she was cut in when Diya spoke. “You are so lucky to have jeejs in your life” she smiled and her heart felt a pinch as she addressed Karan that way while Ragini kept gazing at her sister.
“He really cares for you” she said with a wide smile and Ragini smiled sadly as Sanskar's thought flooded and she shook her head landing back to the real world. “I wish I could feel it often” she said lowly as she remembered Sanskar and a tear tripped her eye.
“I am sorry for what I told you” Diya held her ears cutely. Ragini nodded her head bringing her hands down. “It's fine. And it is unlikely of you if you apologize” Ragini chuckled and Diya huffed as her nose flared up. Soon she joined Ragini and they fell on the bed. Diya dangled hand across Ragini's neck. She was not going to let her stupid one sided love to ruin her relationship with her sister at any cost. And she made her decision more firm as she smiled at her sister who was staring the ceiling as emptiness crawled upon her heart.

Freaking 4000+ words 😯😱
I rarely get so immersed in a story 😂😂😂😂
I think that's the side effects of long break. Hope you are liking this.
So is that the end for RagSan and Diran. I would say just wait and watch what's stored more as all the hearts broken and one Bechara unaware soul.
I would like to give more updates but I don't know the stress is too much that let's me just drop my lashes and drift to sleep as I walk back home every day from work.
I will work out something soon as my frustration is a never ending story. I just wonder I was such a good student to my teachers then why I'm getting so annoyed as the day pass by with my students.
I will try to give an update in the middle of the week as the tests are going to start and I might get a bit of free head space to think about the stories.
😆
