Once there was a farmer named Kabeer. He was very poor but he was honest and hard working. He lived with his old parents. His parents were very weak and could not do any work. They were completely dependent on Kabeer.

Kabeer also had an ox. He lovingly called it Lala. He loved the Ox very much. He took his goods to the city on Lala and sold them in the city. He took great care of Lala and gave it proper food on time. Lala also loved Kabeer very much. Lala was a strong ox. He happily carried the weight of Kabeer's goods and never complained because he knew that he was Kabeer's only source of transport.
Kabeer and Lala were very close to each other and they understood each other's feelings and signals. Whenever Lala shook his head, Kabeer understood him. Whenever Kabeer said something in his language, Lala also understood what he wanted to say. They played together when they had free time and also respected each other very much. Kabeer also talked with Lala about his problems because Lala was his only friend. Lala always listened to Kabeer and stayed with him whenever he talked.

One day when returning from the city, Lala was injured. Kabeer became very worried. He took Lala to the doctor and put bandages and ointment on his wounds. He took great care of Lala. He was worried that if something happened to Lala then he would lose his only friend. Lala was his friend from his birth and Kabeer and Lala had spent so much time together. Kabeer was so worried about Lala that he forgot to take care of his own health and became very weak. Slowly Lala became healthy again. Kabeer became happy and they again started going to the city to sell their goods.

One day when Kabeer was delivering some sand bags to a person, he discovered jewels in them. He demanded extra money from the person who was buying the goods. That man became greedy and refused to give Kabeer any money. He beat Kabeer and told him to get lost. Poor Kabeer returned home empty handed. Lala was also sad because Kabeer was sad. He reached home and went to sleep early.
The greedy man in the city became afraid that Kabeer would tell someone about the jewels. He decided to kill Kabeer. At night, he came to Kabeer's house with his friends and took him away.

Next morning, when Lala could not find Kabeer he became worried. He broke his rope and ran here and there to search for Kabeer but could not find him.

Suddenly he remembered the greedy man who did not give them money yesterday. He became worried that maybe he had taken kabeer away. He began running towards the city to find kabeer. When he reached the city, he found kabeer near the greedy man's house breathing his last. Lala began to cry. People heard him and gathered around. They put kabeer on Lala's back. Lala began running back to his home to help kabeer drink some water. On the way people called him but he was very worried and didn't stop or give them any attention. He finally reached his home and put kabeer down but he was not breathing anymore. Lala began to cry. Lala lays next to kabeer and then kabeer says 'I love you' and then dies. Then lala rests his head in him and falls asleep. He didn't eat or drink for many days and just lay next to kabeer. He became too weak and one day he also died. His dead body was next to kabeer.

Both friends lived together, laughed together and finally died together. True love is called friendship which creates harmony among friends that if one gets hurt the other one feels the pain. Life has no meaning without friends.
