-one day you sent a carrier pigeon to a nearby country

-you were sending it to someone who was born in your country

-worked for your country

-and everything

-but it didn't seem to make it to the right person

-since a couple of days later you got a pigeon back

-with a letter of course

-saying

-"Dear whoever this originally came from
I'm Lee Taemin from (country). I figured the letter that was originally sent was not sent to me. So I wanted to send you a letter back saying that it does not seem that it made it there. Sorry for the struggle, I wish you luck in sending the letter,
Lee Taemin"

-you smiled at the letter

-at least someone was nice enough to say it hadn't arrived properly

-so you decided to send a litter back to this Taemin guy

-he didn't seem bad

-at all

-he seemed pretty nice actually

-"Dear Taemin,
This is the sender of the message, (Y/N). I'd just like to say thank you for telling me that my letter did not get to the right person, especially since most people would not even care.
Thank you for the help,
(Y/N)"

-when he got the letter

-he realized it was from you again

-Partially because it said your name

-and partly because handwriting is a thing

-but anyway

-the two of you decided why not just keep sending letters back and forth

-it wasn't doing anyone any harm

-and it was actually rather calming to read each other's messages

-and then respond

-most times you'd write about what had been going on in your country

-and then write a few questions below

-and in his letter

-he'd answer the questions

-ask you some questions

-and then tell about what's happening where he is

-overtime

-the letters became less and less formal

-since the two of you had started to get to know each other

-and because no one likes writing formal letters in the first place

-so you both jumped at the opportunity to just write casual letters

-the only problem was

-he didn't know you were a princess

-and you didn't know what he did for a living

-not saying that you would mind if he was a commoner

-if anything you preferred that

-because you just wanted to be treated as a human

-not as a perfect being

-which you weren't

-nor was he

-nor was anyone

-anyway

-time came for the royals of the two countries to meet

-so of course you had to be there

-there'd be the royals

-and top knights of both countries

-for safety

-and for a show of power

-of sorts at least

-no wars were to be started

-in hopes

-so on the day of the meeting

-you made your way to the room of which the meeting would be held

-and took your seat

-you and Taemin hadn't been able to send letters recently because he had to come to your country for a job

-which you wished him well on

-but sadly didn't expect to see him

-until everyone at the table was being introduced

-"This is our strongest knight, Lee Taemin."

-as soon as that was said

-you sent him a knowing look

-in hopes that he would catch it

-and ask you about it later

-which he did

-you both waited until everyone else left the meeting room

-"You are the Lee Taemin that's been sending letters to (Y/N), right?"

-"I've only ever met one (Y/N), so I do hope you're them."

-you nod

-causing the both of you to smile

-"Well, I'm sorry for me being so informal then, I didn't realize you were a princess."

-"stay informal. It's nice and refreshing. It makes me feel human."

-"as long as that's fine with you, it's fine with me."

-you both laughed

-"I guess we no longer need to hid what we do as a living," you say

-"I guess not. Anything else you've been hiding from me? Other than how good looking you are?"

-"you're the good looking one here, Taemin. Beautiful face and you have muscles."
