"I don't think its wise for us to be training together." Nicole huffed after dropping her weights and I rolled my eyes before deciding to pay her attention as I stepped off the treadmill.
"Afraid you'll regret your choice?" I breath as I slowly made my way towards her.
"Ew! No! I meant with us both returning from injuries but we're ten minutes in, so whatever" She shrugged as she had returned a couple weeks back at Summerslam where I had gotten my ass handed to me by a certain Beast. A bloody mess which left me with who knows how many stitches and basically on the shelve doing nothing.
I pointed towards my stitches and she pouted slightly, "okay you're still injured. I still can't believe Brock did that to you, I was really shocked."
"Shocked that a Beast busted me open?" I chuckled as while they seemed to be able to talk I wasn't sure what their friendship made her miss.
"I mean he hadn't mentioned anything when I bumped into him."
"Bumping how?"
"Randy!" She snapped. "How many times do I have to tell you? I am in love with your best friend!"
"But you have a crush on Brock Lesnar, just admit it." I smirked.
"So what if I do? We're both in love with other people and its not like we flirt, we just hang out. Maybe if you did then he wouldn't have done that to you" She smiled before moving onto her next rep.
"I have enough trouble speaking to people that I actually would love to keep me company so the last thing I am going to do is add a Beast into that mix." I shook my head which caused her to set the weights down.
"Is that a hint to a certain woman who has actually caught your snake eyes?"
It was definitely a hint towards the Kitty who I had gone too far with, I mean the way I saw things she was definitely willing to do a lot but maybe my mouth just wasn't made for talking. I could never say anything right and she clearly knew how to say shit that angered me. I knew she hardly ever meant any of the shit she said because she'd cut herself off halfway through it or begin an apology before immediately after.
I wasn't one to take things personally, I had a pretty thick skin but I guess it only applied to my career as her claims of me being lonely or desperate had gotten to me. I mean I guess I was, when I got home I got home to an empty house and with my injury I was off for most of the time but I hadn't been back to what had become my favourite place to let my mind wander. You could say my ego was bruised after I basically stuck my snake inside her and she didn't want it...
"I tried being nice. It doesn't suit me and she doesn't want anything to do with me." I shrugged, accepting it or trying to accept it, there was only so much a man could do.
"Well that sucks" She folded her arms and sat down on an exercise ball.
"It certainly does" I smiled a bit and made my way over to the weights section.
"So you're just giving up? Doesn't the snake love a challenge?" She followed.
"He does but its been quite a few months now and she hasn't batted an eyelash and if she has she showed she regrets it. She doesn't want me, she thinks I'm some fucking annoying pest" I muttered.
"Oh we all do, Rando!" I heard the voice of Baron Corbin and flipped him off while he caught a water Nicole tossed his way as he moved on.
"What?" She frowned before sighing. "See, this is why you're still single. With Sammy you were on the road and in your own world so you never had time to be the jealous snake or even work for it cause you were home twice a week. Now you're not dating someone, just trying to get her and you want to give up. If you had thought it was such a hopeless case you would have given up after the first month"
"I'm out of options, Nikki. I fucking annoy her by showing up almost every fucking week. She slips into me each and very time but then the next week... its just a fight everytime. Even if she does want me, she doesn't want herself to.." The frustration filled my voice and more so annoyance with myself for letting the woman become a sort of addiction when my time at the club had initially been a thing to kill time.
"If only she knew how mad she was driving you. Its quite adorable, I have never seen you like this. If I met her I could put in a good word for you as I have said before..."
"And as I have said no." I half glared at her through the mirror.
"Just because you constantly hear no from her doesn't mean that you have to take it out on me. Maybe some girl to girl talk would help the situation, despite my clear annoyance for you at times I would not tell her that. I'd talk you up so good" She smiled and I rolled my eyes.
"Fine. What's her name though?"
I stopped my rep before continuing and realized that was something I had yet to uncover or would never uncover with me giving up and all.
"So you can attempt to track her down? I don't think so." I narrowed my eyes and she sighed picking up her bottle of water and turning around.
"I'm sure I'll have better luck asking the lone wolf about his fiance."
"Yeah ask him how she got him to propose" I smirked and saw her hand go up in the air but focused on my weights instead of the finger raised.

"Yeah I have to get checked out." I spoke to Samantha knowing the only reason for the phone call had been because Alanna was worried.
She'd always sneak in and watch and I hadn't visited since before the brutal attack so knew she had to have caught Smackdown this past week.
"Okay well, you can call in a few hours. She should be home from practice then."
"Will do" I nodded as my eyes fell over the people going about their day in the afternoon.
I heard her say a few more things but knew I wouldn't be remembering them as I caught the familiar black waves or hoped its what they were as I hung up.
"Kitty!" I heard myself scream before I quickly ran across the road just in time to land in front of her. Well almost as my race across the street had been halted by a cab driver who hooted and as soon as she realized it was me attempted to turn the other way.
"Kitty" I breath and immediately moved to face her which ended up being a short game of her turning back and forth to avoid me until she stopped and glanced to the ground.
"You're even more beautiful in daylight" I blurted out taking this as some stupid sign that there was still hope for us. And I wasn't lying, I was used to the dim room but her long locks were endless and she was fucking beautiful.
"I'm not who you think I am, sorry" She finally mumbled, avoiding my eyes.
"Oh I definitely know who you are, Kitty" I wasn't exactly being surprised that she would deny my presence. She hadn't liked that she almost gave into me, basically gave into me. Her pride wouldn't let her live it down and I would be suffering due to it.
"Please move" She slightly begged while I frowned having hoped we were past the stage of her just dismissing me completely. Maybe if I believed she was a woman who led on other guys or let them cross the line as I had I would have let her go. But I didn't believe there was anyone else, she couldn't even convince me she had a boyfriend when I had dared to ask.
"I'm sorry for not coming back" My words caused her to focus on me and my eyes widened slightly. She didn't really like eye contact in the club, any of it was hidden by her locks but this time she simply pushed any strands back.
"Its fine, I didn't expect more" She stated and glanced behind her as if someone was watching when we were practically alone.
"Seriously, after everything? You don't expect more?"
"There is nothing, Randy." I was sure she had probably used my name before but was used to the Viper rolling off of her lips.
"I fucked you" I whispered realizing I was letting my faint anger take control but she didn't seem affected by it, didn't seem to get riled up.
My eyes trailed her body as there was no coat or lingerie, simply her dressed as simply as she could be with her body practically drowning in a jersey but still making me want to rip all her clothes off because it was not what I was used to.
"Technically, you didn't."
"Seriously?" I scoffed.
"Yes. And stop leaving me money. I don't need your money, it just leads to assumptions by my boss that I don't need." She attempted to turn but I pulled on her bag and she turned to face me again.
"Kitty.."
"Don't call me that please" She whispered briefly shutting her eyes.
"Why no..."
"Mommy! Mommy, there's a car I want!" I heard a little voice and saw an older woman running after him which confused me as to why he was approaching us...
He clutched her leg and she nervously glanced at me.
No no no...
He glanced up at me and then hid behind her legs once he was sure of my presence. "Let abolita see it and we can get it tomorrow."
I stood awkwardly a bit stunned as I watched her eyes fall down to him while his eyes were focused on me despite appearing to be afraid of me.
"Who is this man, Lyla?" The older woman questioned who I now assumed was her mother.
"He is..uhm.. He has been in the diner a couple times, recognized me and wanted to know about the times." She quickly rambled and her eyes focused on me and I realized everyone was now focused on me.
"Yes, I only get in town a couple times a month and then I get sidetracked with..."
"Mommy, he has tattoos like Randy" he mumbled into her leg between peeks at me.
"That's because I am Randy" I winked and he frowned letting his grip on her go as he eyed me as if inspecting every inch of me to sense whether I was telling the truth or not.
"No you're not, Randy wears a hoodie and.." He began to protest.
"We need to go, come on Luca" She took his hand in a gesture to move.
"But the car, Mommy" He whined which caused me to look at her but she wanted to get as far away from me as possible.
It didn't offend me because I doubt it was me she wanted to get away from but what I represented. The hidden part which made me realize why she had dismissed me even more when I had practically ambushed her.
"We can see it some other time, come on" She lifted him into her arms and stared at me. "Uhm goodbye."
I cleared my throat not wanting her to leave but knowing I couldn't stop her.
Her mom eyed me up and down not really seeming that impressed with me, "nice meeting you Randy Orton"
I watched as they walked on with her son's eyes focused on me as he rested his chin on her shoulder. I sent him a small wave and realized there was much more to my little dancer. And I wasn't done with her yet.
Lyla...
