READ ME:
Hi, I will post the Vegas x Pete Special chapters 1 ~ 5. I don't know who wrote these translations, they were sent to me by someone on twitter, who also got the translations from someone else, and so on. I only corrected some things like words, phrases and sentence structures.
The Special Chapters can be found in book 3 and book 4 of KinnPorsche and is a continuation of Vegas and Pete's Side Story. You can read those chapters (1 ~ 10) here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/274302582-kinnporsche-side-story-vegaspete
I suggest reading the KinnPorsche novel too if you can find it somewhere. Even if you don't read the KinnPorsche Novel, you should read the VegasPete Side Story first or else, these Special Chapters won't make much sense since it continues after chapter 10 ended.

The special chapters starts with Porsche's POV. We will see Vegas and Pete through Porsche's POV. Later, it switches to Pete again.
WARNING: The special chapters have MAJOR spoilers for KinnPorsche novel ending, especially the mystery surrounding Porsche's parents. Read at your own risk.

Porsche POV
"Hey Pete, what are you so afraid of?"
"I told you. I don't wanna come out," Pete said, tightly holding Arm's arm.
"Can you let go of my arm, Pete?"
"I wanna go home," Pete insisted.
"Come on man, if you keep clinging on me like that, people will think we're dating. And that's not cool," Arm said and tried to rip off Pete's hands, but he was stuck to him like a gecko.
Pete was so anxious, he kept on looking from left to right as if someone might kidnap him again. I felt pity for him, but I just couldn't help but find it adorable whenever he does that. He might be one tough fighter, but seeing him like that made me want to protect him more.
"Hey, Pete! Come on!!!" Arm impatiently said, pushing Pete's face away. The latter then let go of his grip and was swatted away. Pete staggered, before eventually bumping into someone.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" Pete hurriedly apologized.
"Hey! Watch where you are goin- Oh, Pete..." Kinn, Kim, and Thankhun halted their quarrel as all the eyes stared at the person Pete had just bumped into.
"Macao."
The youngest son of the second family appeared in front of me. Pete only stood and trembled as if he saw a ghost for the first time.
Macao? Was Macao the reason for your paranoia?
"Out for a walk?" Macao talked past Pete and I then greeted Kinn.
"What about you? Out for a walk too?" Kinn replied in monotone.
"No. My brother has been missing since this afternoon, and the latest track of his GPS said that he was here. So, I hurriedly followed." Macao said and I immediately turned to look at Pete. He was sweating like hell, and his grip had tightened too.
"Vegas disappeared? Wasn't he just out for a walk too?"
"No Phi. He slipped and hit his head on the floor last night so we took him to the hospital. But they called, and they said that he escaped." Macao said with a dithered expression.
"What happened to him? Why did he suddenly want to escape?" Kinn said.
Macao then gradually turned his gaze to Pete, who also have an equal dithery expression,
"He had been through a lot, Phi. And the doctor advised me to watch over him, but I was too late."
"And?" Kinn said in a query but was eventually pushed aside by Thankhun's gesture.
"Kim, look at this! I couldn't believe they have this too, just like what they have on the temple!!!" Thankhun cheerfully said, while holding a large bandana that looks like what the monks wear. He then wrapped it around Kim's neck and dragged his little brother up to the crowd.
"H-hey! What the hell are you doing!?" Kim ranted but still went on with his brother's trip.
"Haha! It looks good on you my little brother. Now we don't need to visit the temple now, aren't we?"
"Hi Phi 'Khun. From a distance, Kim looks like a monk, and you as a sinner. Looks like you and Kim are having fun, aren't we?" Macao teased and Thankhun glared in reply.
"Macao you bastard!" Thankhun said and was about to lunge towards Macao's direction, but Pete and I held both of his arms.
"Calm the fuck down." I said.
"You really have a loose screw huh? Sigh... I better go find my brother now, or else I'll be infected by you." Macao dragged his voice and walked past Thankhun's face.
"W-what did you just say!? Are you mocking me!?" Thankhun brawled, but Pete immediately stopped him.
"That's enough 'Khun. People might hear you and it wouldn't be good for your image."
Pete said in a low voice.
"And why would I be embarrassed? They should be embarrassed by me instead! Now where the fuck did that Macao go!?" Thankhun said before following Macao and grabbing the latter on the shoulders. "You cannot enter!"
"Says who? I don't see any sign that says I cannot." Macao said in a smug face. Damn this kid got some talking skills. "What the hell is going on!?"
Jade's signature eight-octave voice rang out.
"Hey, you ladyboy! Why did you let people in!?" Thankhun immediately turned to Jade when he saw her.
"Wha-! Well I thought you guys will be coming late, and I also have to make a living for God's sake!" Jade replied dryly, turning his head in my direction for help.
"We're here already, so you don't have to anymore. And also, don't let this bastard in!"
Thankhun pointed at Macao, and everybody sighed in chorus.
"What the hell's wrong with you!? I'm trying to find my brother, goddammit!" Macao protested.
"Then go somewhere else! Cause I'll be buying this shop for my own! Pete! Go tell my dad to ready a check!"
"Kim please... stop your lunatic brother." Ché slightly pulled the hem of Kim's shirt, while the latter shook his head.
"Na-ah. I got no stupid brother like that. Kinn, go stop him." Kim turned to Kinn.
"Nope. I'll pass." Kinn said before hiding at my back. My eyes immediately followed Kinn's gesture, and the bastard only grinned at me. Shit! This can't get any worse, does it?
"You'll sell it for 10 million? Fine! Bring out the deed then!"
"Hey 'Khun, calm the fuck down! Who says I'll be selling my shop?" Jade brawled on Thankhun before turning to me with a whimper. "Porsche... Can you please stop this crazy bastard?"
Damn what a hassle!
"Jade, you go now and serve your customers, and as for you 'Khun, if you can't fucking shut up, I'll let you eat my foot instead!" I threatened, and the bastard pursed his lips sealed.
"And you. You can go home now. You're still too young to be lingering in this kind of place. Especially at times like this. It's way too dangerous." Kinn said to Macao, and he only nodded in reply.
"But Ché's underage too." Kim pointed at Ché.
"But he's your responsibility. So, take good care of him." As soon as Kinn finished his sentence, I glared at him again and the bastard slapped his mouth shut as if he had said something he shouldn't.
"I can take care of my own brother alright? So, get the fuck off!" I said, pulling my brother out of Kim's hand.
"I know, I know." Kinn said softly and Kim only raised his hands in defeat.
These fucking brothers really do share the same mental state of mind. If only Kinn and Kim didn't know how to socialize, they'd be sharing the same pot.
We stood outside. Waiting for Jade to clear out the shop like what Thankhun wanted. The bastard was clearly excited because he couldn't keep his hands to himself. One was on Ché's nape and the other was on Pete's arm. Kinn was no different, for his hand was on my head. We're like a bunch of kids waiting for the playground to open.
"Do you think he's in there?" Pete suddenly whispered to me.
"Who? And what are you so afraid of? If you don't calm down now, I'll slap the shit out of you." I said to Pete.
"I just... don't wanna see his face," Pete said softly, "And I fucking hate him." He added, and I only looked at him in reply without uttering a single word. He was so silent that I thought he'll be asking to go home again...
"Aren't we going in yet? I wanna drink."
But he immediately changed the topic like that.
"I thought you wanted to go home?"
"I changed my mind. I wanna get drunk tonight!!!" Pete exclaimed, fixing himself up.
It didn't take long for Jade to clear out the people. We then made our way to the tables with ease and with our heads up. 'Khun even asked for a karaoke set up in the middle and said that we should sing to our heart's content. Pete then took the initiative, and the karaoke party began.
"...memories of yesterday with the love that you left behind. Why would you still ask me how am I? I want to know why. I don't want to talk about it, because the more you seek it. The more it hurts. How long does it take to forget about the one you loved the most?"
Everyone took turns, a song by song. And the shop was filled with laughter and glass clanging together. Thankhun still chose to be the outcast, who kept on picking songs with an annoying beat. But it eventually subsided when he let Pete take the lead. As soon as the liquor hits Pete's mouth, the atmosphere around him turned into a Friday nightclub. He was so gloomy, and the songs that he kept on punching in were too sad as if he was lovelorn.
What's really up with you and Vegas huh, Pete?
"Keep that question aside before this person stops breathing..."
"Give Pete applause!!!" Thankhun said with his eyes drooping from boredom. He then looked at the music queue with anticipation, and his eyes widen when his song appeared on the screen. Thankhun immediately pulled the mic from Pete's hand and nodded to Arm to play the song.
"Can I sing another song, Khun?" Pete took the mic back.
"I've already had enough of your heartbreaking songs Pete! We're here to have fun! Not to be depressed, okay!?" Thankhun said to Pete, before stomping its feet to the beat of the music.
"Just let him be." Kinn said to Pete in apology.
"You already got 10 songs in a row! And any more of that will send me into complete misery. Don't you care about the others? They wanted to hear me sing so badly right now!" Thankhun said confidently.
"Says who?" Ché said, but Thankhun was unfazed. Pete and 'Khun were still holding on to the mic without anyone backing out. Please, someone, take away the mic from these two.
"Alright, that's enough! Your time is up already. It's our turn now." Pol and Arm said, immediately pulled out the mic from Pete and 'Khun's hand then punched in their song. The bastard protested, but Pete only lifted his glass and glugged out the liquor to the rim.
"Kinn, don't you think Pete was acting quiet, weird?" I nudged Kinn's side.
"Uhm... no?"
"What do you mean no?" I asked in disbelief, and I knew Kinn was hiding something from me the way he stared at Pete. As if he was also worried about the latter.
Pete took a deep breath, making Kinn and I pull away a little farther from each other.
"What's up?" I asked Pete.
"I wanna have a girlfriend." Pete suddenly muttered with his head all droopy and messy.
"What?" Kinn and I said in chorus.
"Huh?" Pete furrowed his eyebrows towards us, before continuing what he was trying to say. "I want a girlfriend; I want to get married and start over."
Pete kept on blabbering before shoving another shot of liquor in his mouth.
"You're drunk." I said, reaching for the glass he was holding.
"Who'll get married?" Thankhun overheard our conversation and immediately came in.
"Pete. He said he wanted to get married." Kinn pointed to Pete, who was now seated on the sofa with a lovelorn face.
"That's good! I'll then propose a grand dowry for you! Then who'll you marry? Should I pick my sister-in-law for you?"
"He's the man. He should be putting up a dowry instead."
"Then, who'll be your bride?"
Pete took another shot before replying, "I dunno either." Scrunching his nose up as his face blushed.
These bastards are way too drunk to function. I then pulled out my cigarette and nudged Kinn's side to let him know that I'll be going out for a while. He nodded and I immediately grabbed Pete to tag along, wrapping both of his arms around mine because he was clearly wasted as fuck.
We both made our way to the back, with the tiny veranda to step on. I lit out my cigarette and so as Pete then we both let ourselves get succumbed to the sudden solitude.
"Are you drunk?" I asked Pete, whose eyes were still gloomy and his back against the wall.
"Just a bit tipsy..." He shortly said, breathing the nicotine in and puffing a ball of smoke out. We both walked on eggshells as we tried to exchange little conversations.
"Pete, do you remember the thing that I asked you? Is there anyone else aside from P'Chan who knew the company well?" I said in a query. This has been bothering me for days already. And the more that I dug into it, the more I got curious.
"Why do you wanna know so bad, huh Porsche?" Pete raised an eyebrow, looking at me suspiciously.
"Pete, you know that I trust you a lot. No one knows about this aside from you. Not even my brother, Tem or Jom or even Kinn knows about this."
"Err... I dunno Porsche. I don't want to get myself in trouble again." Pete said kiddingly but a matter of factly.
"Please Pete. You gotta help me." I insisted.
"Do I even have a choice?" Pete sighed, and I smiled.
"Athi-who's addicted to gambling, gave this picture to me." I took out my wallet and pulled the said picture. I handed it to Pete, and the latter only frowned for a moment before turning towards the light for a better view.
"This was Khun Korn when he's still young. And, who's the young boy?" Pete said as he scanned the picture once again.
"It's me."
"You!?" Pete's eyes widened and turned to look at me.
"Yes, it's me." I repeated.
"W-what- Don't tell me you're Khun Korn's other son!? So, you and Khun Kinn are- Oh my God! You screwed your own brother!?"Pete exclaimed, overreacting.
"My parents are right behind Khun Korn, you dumbass!" I said.
"Ow. My bad." Pete scratched his head slightly, "And this is Khun Korn." He added.
"That's why I'm asking for your help. I wanna know what connection Khun Korn has with my parents." The picture sparked my interest, but my uncle's words drew me even further in.
"Why don't you ask Khun Kinn?"
"I was thinking about that too. But I dunno if Kinn's already aware of it. Or if he'll even tell me if he is."
"You should be careful, or you'll end up being manipulated by the main clan too, just like what happened to your parents."
The voice of my uncle echoed inside my head, as I tried to reanalyze everything. I don't even know if this was true or a fucking lie. What I just know now is that I can't trust anyone aside from Pete.
"I think you should at least ask Khun Kinn, Porsche." Pete said in a serious tone.
"I already told you, I can't." I said, puffing the last bits of my cigarettes.
"Would you rather hear it from other people than Khun Kinn instead?"
"I'm not even sure about everything anymore, Pete. But if this is really a lie, do you think Kinn would even bother to tell me the truth?" I stared at Pete's eyes, confused.
"Not to offend you or something, but it seems to me that you don't trust Khun Kinn at all." Pete said, and my gaze immediately landed on his serious eyes. Pete's words made me realize it. This may be hard to accept, but I really don't trust Kinn that much on this matter.
Damn this is giving me a headache! I just wanted some answers for Pete's sake!
"Just let that aside first. If you got something, anything, let me know."
"Most of the bodyguards from ten years ago-both main and minor- were either lost or dead. That's all I know."
"Why?" I quickly turned to Pete.
"I really don't know. But don't you remember when Big snitched on the Main family? He ended up..." Pete stopped talking and made a hand gesture across his neck.
"Pete please, you have to help me." I pressed. I could sense danger, and before we even fell into the trap, I had to find out the truth behind all of this.
"Fine. But you have to help me too." Pete said.
"How?" I frowned.
"I want to have a wife and get married. I want to forget everything that happened and just start over." Pete said with a grave look on his face. I don't know if he's serious or not, but I'll just let him do what he wants to help me.
"And where the hell would I get you a wife?"
"That's your job. You help me find a wife for my future and I'll help you gather information from your past. Deal?" Pete held out his hand in front of me.
[T/N: It's like saying, 'You plan my future, I'll fix your past.']
"Really now Pete?" I asked. Quite puzzled on his predetermination to find a wife.
"Come on Porsche. A deal is a deal."
"Fine. But where would I find you a wife?" I casually grabbed Pete's hand and pushed it down after.
"You got more opportunities to mingle with people. You even got a circle of friends. So, work your magic."
"Wha- but all of my friends are men. Would you like to date someone stupid like them?"
I teased Pete, but the bastard immediately burst my bubble.
"No! I'll date women. And women only!" Pete exclaimed before shaking my hand again and going back into the shop.
I sighed. Because instead of getting help, another problem came over to me. It just shows that Pete really wanted to turn a new leaf. He won't be acting all worked up to get a wife if this was just a small matter. What the fuck did you do to him to be this all worked up, Vegas?
I threw my last cigarette butt on the ground and gave it a light press to put out the fire. My feet were telling me to go in now because any later than this, Kinn will think that I already planted my own tobacco tree.
I was on my way in when suddenly a faint shadow appeared from my peripheral vision as if it was picking something up from the ground. I tried to readjust my position to get a better view of the alley, but it was so dimly lit so everything was blurry.
Suddenly my brain came up with a thought...
Was that really a person? Or a cat? Or... a ghost? Damn if it's just a regular person who's trying to spy on us, I'll immediately grab him. But if it's really a ghost... fuck I'll scream like hell!
Clack!
"Holy fuc-!"
"What the hell are you still doing there Porsche? Let's go in now." Pete said and immediately pulled my arm to go inside with him.
"You didn't wait for me, you fucking bastard!" I yelled at Pete as soon as we went in.
"Well, I thought you still wanted to think about your life decisions, so I didn't bother you!"
Pete and I were still arguing until we arrived at the table. And then the screaming sound of the ding dong bastard made me completely forget about the shadow behind the pillar.
"Hey, Pete and Porsche! This song is for both of you!" Thankhun cheered.
Damn, I still got a long way to go.
"Porsche! Been a long time!" Tem immediately runs towards us to greet me, along with Jom and some other unfamiliar faces.
"We just got here." I replied shortly.
Damn! Have I gone way long that these bastards have already made new friends? I mean we do share the same faculty, but I don't know any of them.
"Hello Pete, and P'Tae." Tem cheerfully said, but when his gaze landed on Tae, his smile faded. As if he saw a ghost.
"You're not with P'Time, P'Tae?" Jom asked, and Tae immediately frowned.
"Do we always need to be together?" Tae said dismissively.
"Oh! N-no! I just asked. I'm just not used to you being alone that's all." Jom replied, a little shaky.
Tae gave Jom a look before turning to me in annoyance, "So where are we gonna eat?"
"Uhmm... I'm with my classmates and after this, we'll go straight back to the club. So, we're just gonna sit on a different table." Tem said and I was about to nod in reply, but Pete's voice intervened.
"Why sit separately? Join us! The more the merrier."The latter said, and I immediately frowned at him. I was about to grab Pete, but the bastard grinned at me, paced towards me, and whispered something in my ear.
"Come on Porsche. Help me with this." Pete murmured, nudging his head towards the pretty girl with an innocent face, smiling sweetly behind Tem.
"But..."
I was about to say no, but on second thought, I'll just let him be. If this will help him feel better, then I'll just go with it. Saves me the trouble of finding someone for him.
"Na, Porsche? Let them sit with us." Whispered the bastard who was wagging his tails on me. Dang do I have a choice?
"Uhm... alright. Let's share a table in that restaurant." I pointed to the Korean resto located at my left. Tae and Ché immediately followed and checked the menu. We took a long table for us to fit in, as the ambiance got filled with loud chats and laughter. On the other hand, Tae and Ché kept on cursing, absolutely trashing Time and Kim.
"Hi. I'm Pete." My bastard of a friend went on the move to the Dao (star) of my group. This shithead really is trying. I'm not one hundred percent aware of what the hell is he up to, but if that's the way he can forget about Vegas, then better let the bastard be.
"I'm Praew." The lady answered, giving Pete a charming smile.
"You guys can order what you want. Porsche's treat," Pete said, before handing the menu to Praew. This bastard really is gonna get me in trouble.
"I'll just go to the restroom for a sec." I got up and made my way to the restroom. Looks like I won't be able to talk to Pete right now 'coz that bastard will definitely be occupied. Fuck! We went out to talk but ended up doing the opposite. Should I ask Arm and Pol instead? But I'm afraid that they can't answer me properly. Damn what a hassle!
As I was unbuttoning my pants and taking care of my personal affairs in the cubicle, my mind couldn't stop thinking about what to do next. Should I just tell Jom the whole thing? Or ask Ché to interrogate Kim? But that little devil is too young, he'll just end up being interrogated himself.
"There you are!"
My pants almost got wet with my piss when Pete suddenly emerged to my side.
"What the fuck! Pete!" I shouted in irritation.
"I think I like Praew." Pete immediately muttered.
W-wait... What!?
"You've just met her!" I snapped in disbelief.
"So what? You don't have to know someone for a long time to say that you love them, right?" The bastard said, before gently shaking my arm.
"Don't have to know for a long time my ass!" I yelled, swatting those filthy hands of his.
"Hehe. Sorry."Pete said while grinning,
"Ah! You promised you'll help me find a wife, then... Help me court Praew, I wanna marry her."
"Wait a damn minute, Pete! Are you insane? You guys just met for less than an hour and you already wanna marry her?"
"You promised me, Porsche. So, you have to help me. And besides, I won't ask for it for free. I'll help you with your investigation too."
I was about to curse at him, but the bastard whistled and walked away. "H-hey! Pete! Hold on! Damn this bastard is desperate. Wait for me!" I zipped my pants up and let out a long sigh. I just wish Praew will treat you right Pete, 'coz if she made you cry... I'll fucking let you drown on your own tears!
I stood in front of the bathroom sink, washing my hands. My mind was filled with thoughts of how to squeeze out the truth from the main family and also how the fuck am I gonna help Pete to court Praew. Well, she's interested in Pete... I guess? She won't entertain him if she's not, right? Fuck it! I'll just ask Tem for help if it doesn't go well on my side. I was preoccupied with thoughts when suddenly the door of the bathroom opened.
Clack!
My eyes immediately looked up at the reflection in the mirror, and when I realized who the person was... my eyes widened in shock.
"Vegas!" I muttered as I felt my blood surge up to my temple. I rolled up my sleeves and the impulse of hitting him right on his face was really tempting.
"Porsche." The bastard muttered my name with a sullen face. And I only raised my
eyebrow at him. I'm on my stance, ready if this bastard lunged towards me.
"Can I talk to you?" He suddenly asked out of topic, but I didn't answer. I only stared at him with hatred as I tried to suppress my raging anger.
Vegas, which was once so sly and confident, has now become shabby.
He then walked towards me, and I was ready to take him on, but I was caught off guard by his query.
"Porsche, can you say no to helping Pete with that woman?" He stated it with the most desperate tone imaginable.
I furrowed my brows in response to his request and the fist that was ready to strike him in the face hung in the air.
"W-what? What the hell do you mean by that!?" I clenched my hand once more and grabbed Vegas by the collar.
"Can you, please, do not help Pete to get that woman?" Vegas begged. And I was completely puzzled. What on earth do you mean by that Vegas? Do you really enjoy seeing my friend suffer!? Don't you have other things to do!? Were you fucking bored or something!!? Or- Wait the fuck up. Do you fucking feel the same as Pete?
"Please... don't help him. I beg you." Vegas' trembling voice took me out of my trance. It was as if his life depended on that single request. I thought he only enjoys seeing Pete suffer, but after the scene today... I guess I was wrong.
"Why the fuck do you have to ask me!?" As I tried to coax the truth out of Vegas, I felt like I was treading on eggshells. I don't know if he's just messing with me, or if he really liked Pete. But...
"Because I love him." Vegas said, and I was stunned.
W-what?
"Porsche, please... I beg you." Vegas reiterated as he stared at me directly in the eye.
"W-wha... I don't fucking understand."
"Please Porsche, I love him. And I can't live without him... please... help me." The bastard begged once more. I could see the shadow of tears seeping out of the reddened rim of his eyes.
"You've gotta be kidding me." I scoffed.
Don't take me as a fool Vegas. I may have trusted you before, but I know how you play now. Who knows if you just wanted to use to recapture Pete and torture him again!
"Believe me, Porsche. I won't cause any harm to him. I just want him back." Vegas bit his lip and took a fistful of his hair. He was anxious, uneasy, desperate.
"Enough with the fuckery Vegas! Even if you really do love Pete or not. I won't help you! Now get lost! Before I beat the shit out of you!" I yelled at him, trying my best to suppress my anger.
"You want to hit my face? Go ahead! Hit me as many as you want. Just please, help me..."
"You really are testing my patience Vegas."I gripped my fist tightly and was about to lunge on Vegas, however, the jerk stopped me in my tracks.
"Just promise me that if you hit me. You won't help Pete on that girl."
"Why? Why don't you just leave him alone and let him be happy!?" I shouted.
"I know I hurt him, and I regretted what I did. I just want him beside me... but I still chose to let him escape."
"You let him escape?" I narrowed my eyes at his statement.
"It's a long story." Vegas obviously wanted to dodge the topic.
"I've had enough of this." I replied. Completely done with his shits.
"B-but I promise you. What I'm saying is true. And I can help you find answers too if you want." Vegas said to me that I immediately turned to him.
"What do you mean...help me?" I asked in confusion.
"I heard that you wanted to know something from the main family's past. I can help you."
"What the fuck did you want from me?" I asked sternly this time. Vegas is clearly playing with me.
"Nothing. Just help me with Pete, and I'll do anything to help you too."
"I don't fucking need your help," Annoyed, I turned and was about to leave.
"I heard from Big that you were forced to work as a bodyguard of the main family because
your uncle used your house as collateral for his debts."
I immediately turned back to face Vegas,
"But that house is entitled to you. So, you clearly own the place. The thing is, are you aware that when you reach the right age, you won't need any guardian and that property will automatically be yours?" Vegas said seriously.
"What do you mean?"
"Do you think after all the years that the Main family stayed in this business, are you sure they are not aware of that fact?" His face, which looked sullen earlier, suddenly turned back to his old cunning self.
"So, what you mean to say is that... they knew about this all along?" I began to catch up on what Vegas was saying.
"And they still threatened you that they'll take it if you don't work for them, right?" Vegas said, and I only looked at him in reply. I am speechless because he is right.
"You may find it hard to believe. But I can tell you whatever you want to know. If you just agree to help me, Porsche."
"Kinn won't lie to me about that." I glared at Vegas. And he only scoffed in reply.
"I can take you to the old bodyguard that they fired, and still alive if you want. You still wanna know more about that main family's background, right?" Vegas walked past my shoulder to wash his hands. My gaze never left him, as I try to reorganize my thoughts.
Shall I believe him?
"What the fuck do you want!?"
"I've already told you, Porsche. Just help me with Pete. And you'll get your answers."
The bastard took a piece of tissue to wipe off his hands and gave me a cunning look.
"Damn you Vegas!" I whispered.
"You don't need to give me an answer now. But if you changed your mind... just call me."
Vegas patted my shoulder before turning around to walk away.
Damn this is all fucked up!He came to me begging about Pete, then suddenly opening up the topic about the deed of our house. I didn't give it much thought that time because I was too busy trying to pay up my uncle's debts and leave the main house as soon as possible. Then the threats happened, then Kinn, and the rest is history. Until now, I have not thought about the deed of the house.
Fuck! I just wanted answers, but with the mere thought of knowing the trickery that happened at the same time, I think I will lose my shit.
After washing my hands, I took a fistful of water and let it hit my face. Before turning back to the table with my friends. I then sat beside Pete, and the bastard immediately gave me a curious look.
"What took you so long? Come eat." Pete said with his mouth full of rice. I then stared at him in suspicion, as my head got filled with questions, I badly wanted some answers.
"What's wrong, Porsche?" Pete asked me worriedly.
"Nothing."
"Do you wanna go home? Or does your stomach hurts?" Jom butted in.
"Let's just finish this and go back." I shortly replied.
"Huh? But I wanted to see a movie, and everyone already agreed." Pete said, and I squinted my eyes towards him because I know his purpose.
"Then I'll go home. Y'all can stay."
"You have to stay too." Pete gently shook my arm.
"Did you ask for Kinn's permission? That bastard gave me 3 hours at the most." I quoted Kinn and Pete gave up right away, a frown plastered on his face.
"Damn man! I thought you'll help me?" Pete muttered, before turning back to what he was eating.
I didn't give him so much attention because my head was swirling with questions about our house deed. Am I tricked by the main family? I still couldn't believe that Khun Korn could do it to me. And most of all, I don't believe Kinn would keep this information from me. I mean, I should have known it, but since I'm naïve about these things, it's only normal that they tell me. Right?
After dinner, everyone agreed to go home, and the plan of my slick friend Pete, had failed. Tae and Ché sat at the back seat, immediately falling asleep after they ate. Pete was on cloud nine as he blabbered about Praew the whole ride. This may be out of context but, why do I feel that he's just pretending? The first time I saw him, he was all gloomy, and now he suddenly wanted to have a girlfriend. Had he already moved on that fast? Or was he's just trying to distract himself from the fact that he liked Vegas? Does he like Vegas? Or is it just Vegas liking Pete? Ugh, so annoying!
Added to that was the fact that Vegas told me. Did he really let Pete escape? Or Pete ran away by himself? Damn! It's all messed up!
I was busy driving when suddenly Pete exclaimed. "Praew replied to my line!"
Ahh. I did see them exchanging lines a while ago.
"Pete, can I ask you a question?" I said.
"Yeah?" Pete replied with eyes still glued on his phone screen.
"How did you get out of Vegas' house?" I've been meaning to ask him about this, I'm just afraid that he still wouldn't be able to handle it if I did. But now, I think it's time.
Pete suddenly halted his actions, before looking at me straight in the eyes.
"I've been meaning to ask you. I just wanted to know." I added.
"I... ran away." He replied shortly.
"Then what about Vegas' bodyguards? Did they let you out that easily?" I tried to be as casual as possible, but I still glanced periodically at him to check his reactions. The bastard only sighed, took down his phone, and looked outside the car window.
"Do you really want to know?" he added.
"I won't force you if you don't want to." I said with concern. I know that caused him trauma and reopening the topic will only mean he could be triggered and experience the same pain again.
"He let me escape." Pete said shortly.
"But your wrist, didn't he tie you up?" I asked when I got a better look at the bruise marks on Pete's wrist.
"He did. But he removed those for me." Pete said indifferently, and I felt a huge block on my throat, as if I wanted to know more about what happened, but I'm afraid I might dig on something I shouldn't be digging.
"Probably not because you said that it hurts, right?" I said, as I tried to figure out if Vegas' feelings were true. And if making a deal with him will help with my problems.
Pete stared at me before answering, "He took them off because I told him that if he won't let me go, I'll die in there." He said in a trembling voice. Pete then shut his eyes after and slumped his head on the side. I may have caused him to remember about the past, and I really felt sorry for him, but it only reinforces what Vegas has told me. That bastard really does have feelings for Pete. Fuck! why do I have the curiosity of a cat? But if I didn't ask him about it, I wouldn't know if I can trust Vegas even a little bit.
We reached the main gate of the house and I immediately headed for the garage.
"Are you okay?" I asked Pete, who was holding his temples tightly.
"Just a slight headache. Vegas must have imprisoned me for such a long time that a bit of sun and wind turns me off." Pete said jokingly, and I sighed in relief. At least my friend is making some progress.
"You can go back now and rest." I told him.
"Sorry. I couldn't help you today."
"It's fine. It's crowded too, so we can't really talk privately. Maybe next time." I said and Pete nodded.
I wandered around until I reached Pete's room, but when I was about to open the door, Arm immediately greeted me.
"Where's Pete?" I said in query.
"He got a fever from an infected wound on his wrist. I'll probably take him to the hospital after the meeting." Arm said warily lifting a damp towel and a bowl of water; probably those he used on Pete.
"Then, I'll leave him to you first Porsche." Arm said, and I nodded in reply.
I abruptly made my way to Pete's bed, and put my hands over his head, "What the hell happened Pete?" He was already warm to touch, probably because Arm tended him already.
"U-uh..." Pete softly moaned. I looked at my friend's face with turbulent thoughts. His eyes were closed and seemed like in the middle of a dream.
How're you handling this, Pete? How can you always view the positive side? I was in the middle of my mental trance when Pete suddenly muttered...
"V...Vegas... I'm sorry..."
My brows immediately frowned when I heard the bastard's name.
"W-where... are you... Doctor.....please.. Vegas is..." Pete reiterates, and my head immediately moves closer to Pete's face. Am I really hearing this right? Pete is... sleep talking about Vegas?
It wasn't even surprising that Pete sleep talked about Vegas, but one thing made me realize for sure...
'I'll help you with what you wanted to know about the main family... but you must do the same Porsche. Promise me you'll help me with Pete'
"Vegas... I don't wanna eat spaghetti..."
I need to talk to Vegas no matter what. I took out my phone, dialed the bastard's number, and the other line immediately answered...
"Let's talk."
[Alright.]
Today I made an appointment with Vegas to negotiate his offer, and I'm already running late. And it's because of Kinn's over protectiveness, and Arm-Pete's suspicious scenes.
I don't trust Vegas at all, but I have no choice but to tolerate him now. We set our meeting point here at the university because we are both afraid of getting caught. And besides, Kinn won't let me go that easily if he caught me making my way to the second family's home.
"Hey,"
As soon as my feet touched the ground, Vegas greeted me right away. He stood with its back to the hood of the car, holding a nearly empty cigarette.
"Yea."
I stood quite a distance away from him. Vegas smiled as he always did when he looked at me. Never have I imagined that he'll be two-faced as he is now. I've never been interested in Vegas, that's why I don't pay too much attention to him, but now that he's the key to the truth, I am well aware of him now. He was like a steady water, but if one gets a closer look, those waters were deep, dark. As if he has two personalities overlapping each other. No matter how you look at him, it doesn't feel real.
"You're late." Vegas said playfully. But I was still cautious. Eyeing every movement that he makes.
"What now?" I told him, placing my hands in my pocket.
"Get in the car. I'll take you." Vegas waved his hand towards his car.
"And where are you taking me?" My face must have been so worried that Vegas laughed drily.
"You don't need to be afraid of me."
"Who said that I'm afraid of you?!" You say that like you don't even know me. I'm not afraid of you, I just don't trust you!
"Then hop on, I'll take you to him." Vegas scuffed, before taking his keys and unlocked his car.
"Tell me first where we're going."
"I told you yesterday that I would take you to someone. I let my people find out if he's alive. If you wanna know anything about the main family, he might be able to help."
"Where?" I asked curiously.
"Hmmm..." Vegas picked up the phone and plowed its screen as if to check something.
"It's in the suburbs. Almost across the province as well. We should go now if I were you." Vegas looked at the map with a serious expression on his face.
"Who is it?" I continued to ask.
"An old bodyguard of the main family," Vegas said indifferently, calculating the route.
"So how did you get to know him?"
"I didn't, but I have my people to find him."
"So, what are you looking for?"
"If you ask again, I won't take you. It's really none of my business." Vegas sighed heavily, and suddenly a crazy idea popped into my mind.
"Pete is sick," I said casually. And of course, Vegas turned his head so fast that his neck almost broke. His face was in shock and stunned, as if the sentence I just said now meant Pete is dead.
"What happened to him?" The bastard said in a tone full of concern.
I whistled and rolled my eyes, completely ignoring the bastard. Honestly, I'm just checking his reaction to see if it's going to be as much as yesterday. In case something bad happens, I have something to negotiate with him.
"Porsche! What happened to Pete!?" Vegas's tone got higher, and his gestures got all jittery. From a broad-sly smile, he suddenly turned into an emotional ass. Damn, this jerk has a gift; it's as if turning on and off his character was as simple as turning on and off a light switch.
"Yea yea. Let's go for now." I told Vegas and made my way first to his car. I put a hanky on my nose, just in case he decided to put some chloroform or poison of the sort to dose me off.
Vegas took a deep breath, before following me inside the car. "Tell me, is Pete oka-" the bastard suddenly stopped talking as soon as he saw my gesture. "Does my car stink?"
he asked, starting up the engine and took a whiff on his air conditioning.
When I saw that nothing happened to him, I immediately removed my handkerchief.
"I thought you put some chloroform inside your car. I'm just protecting myself." I said to him, and the bastard scuffed.
"You watch too many movies, Porsche. Pete really is your friend." Vegas said, driving his car out of the university.
"What do you mean by that?" I narrowed my eyes towards him.
"You both have the same mindset. And a bit crazy sometimes."
"You're nuts." And I'm fucking way more sane than that bastard!
"Then... What happened to Pete?" Vegas suddenly turned serious again.
"You fucking kidnapped him, and even took him away from the outside world. And you even chained him up to boot! Now his wrist was inflamed, and he was burning with fever." I cursed at Vegas, and his face immediately dropped.
"How was he?" Vegas expressed his deep concern.
"This morning, the bastard went out for a smoke, even if the doctor clearly said he shouldn't. Good thing Arm was there to assist him." I replied curtly.
"Is he alright?"
"Well aside from his fever and inflamed wrist, he's fine."
"I want to take care of him." Vegas took a fistful of his hair and grazed his hands over his face. The bastard's face was all solemn, as if he was trying his best to hold on. I only stared at Vegas' action and let him say what he wanted to say. "I want to take care of him. What am I supposed to do?"
Vegas turned his gaze towards me for a bit, as if he was trying to get my opinion, before bringing it back to the road.
"How would I know? I'm in sports science, not medicine. Idiot."
Vegas can only sigh and suddenly turn quiet in response to my comment. "So, did you fight with Kinn because of the deed?" The bastard suddenly uttered, because he clearly knew he won't be able to get anymore from me if it's about Pete.
"A bit." I shortly replied.
"Huh. I thought you guys would fight to death and break the house." Vegas chuckled. Making the atmosphere lighter than a while ago. It made me a bit comfortable, as we both gradually opened up to each other.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked Vegas.
"You're already asking, aren't you?" Vegas sarcastically replied, but I couldn't care less.
"Why do you hate Kinn so much? And you even started to like me before?"
"Why not?"
"What do you mean why not?" I turned to him.
"You're hot, and good at fighting. I just don't know why the hell you choose Kinn over me when I'm clearly way better than him." Vegas boasted over, eyeing me from head to toe, before gently biting his lip.
"That's disgusting and annoying at the same time." I said to him, giving him a loathing gaze.
"Then let's find out." Vegas suddenly signaled to make a turn to the side and aim to park on the nearby hotel. I laughed at his gesture, before pulling out my phone and directed it to his face.
"What the hell are you doing?" Vegas asked in terror.
"Come on! This is good for Pete to hear!" I turned my screen towards Vegas, and when he saw that I was recording from the very start, his face froze and stepped on the brakes to park.
"Porsche! Why are you doing this?!" Vegas said angrily.
"Because you're fucking stupid." I replied to him, laughing.
"I was joking!" Vegas shook his head in extreme weariness before moving the car away again. "Don't send that to him, Porsche! It was just an old instinct of mine, nothing more!"
He paused. "I didn't even get a chance to explain to him so please, don't let Pete hear that clip." Vegas begged for the last time with his voice and expression both discouraged.
"If you do something stupid again, I'll make sure to send this clip to Pete and I assure you, you won't see him again." I threatened the bastard and put my phone back in my pocket. Vegas was too easy to read whenever it involved Pete.
"Did... he talk about me?" Vegas uttered, in a repenting tone.
"No..." I replied shortly.
"Not even a bit?" Vegas looked at me in anticipation.
"What do you want him to talk about? How had you kidnapped him? And how did you hurt him? Have you already lost your mind, Vegas?" I raised my eyebrow to him.
"He really wanted to forget about me huh...?"
No... maybe. But he's still talking about you whenever he's sick, and people tend to call out the one they love the most when they're at their weakest. I don't want Vegas for Pete, but I don't want my friend to keep lying to himself too.
"Serves you right." I said coldly, staring right out of the car's window.
We both went silent for a while before the bastard spoke again. "Can I ask something, Porsche?"
"You already are." I mimicked his answer a while ago, but Vegas seems not in the mood for jokes now.
"I don't know what might happen to me after this, but please... take care of Pete for me." Vegas said, as if this was the last time, I would see him. It doesn't confuse me though, because Kinn already said that they'll deal with the second clan as soon as possible.
"You watch too many soap operas, Vegas." I teased him.
"I'm serious, Porsche."
"And I am too! Pete's the vice-head of the main family's bodyguards. He's not gullible like anyone else. You should be concerned about yourself instead." I told him in annoyance.
"I know how strong he is, and what he has endured. I'm just worried about him."
"Whatever you say Vegas." I irked.
"And one more thing..."
"You're so demanding."
"Don't let him be with anyone else. You absolutely cannot!" He raised a finger to me, and I gritted.
"Wha- Are you fucking insane or something!? Even if you're already dead, Pete still can't have anyone else?" I said in disbelief.
"Of course!"
"You really have lost it, do you? Wouldn't it be fair if you just let him be happy with someone else when you die!?"
"No. I only want him for me. And you must forbid Pete even if I die!" Vegas pressed, I scuffed in awe.
"I would not! And even if you die or not, that's his choice to make! Not mine, and definitely not yours!" I exclaimed. But right after my sentence, Vegas veered to the side of the road, and suddenly stopped.
"Get out." Vegas said furiously. Eyes were cold, and terrifying.
"Are you crazy!? This is a highway!" I yelled, but Vegas was unfazed, and unlocked the car door.
"If you can't agree with my proposal, then get out of my car!" The bastard said and nudged his head towards the highway.
"Fuck! Our agreement was only with Praew. And I didn't help him with her!" I said in annoyance. This bastard was serious about kicking me outside the car.
"I mean everyone! Pete must not mess with anyone!"
"You're being unfair!" I exclaimed.
"Then get out!" Vegas yelled at me again.
Damn it! You're in luck, this was your own car. 'coz if it doesn't, I already threw you out too.
"Fine! I'll ban as much as I can! Fucking bastard!"
"And if I ever catch Pete messing with someone else, you can bet I'll find a way to get him back." Vegas said with conviction. Ruthlessly, and inhumanely.
"Damn it!" I cursed, looking outside as Vegas started the car again. I'm really sorry Pete.
"But I'm sure that even then. As long as I was around, he wouldn't be able to have anyone else."
"You're too confident. You're just lucky you got the stakes high."
"Despite the fact that I was terrified and even asked you to forbid Pete, I believe that as long as he doesn't forget about me, I still have a chance."
"Hmm. Setting aside your soiled attitude...You do have a face though." I said, with a hint of enthusiasm.
"Just enough."
"But Pete probably hates you so much..." I scuffed. And his confidence suddenly depleted.
"I know!" He uttered, lowering his head. "But I cannot lie that what happened between us was unforgettable." The bastard slyly said, smirking on the steering wheel.
"What do you mean? You're gonna show off to him? That alone won't impress him." I blurted out of the blue, and Vegas only looked at me in awe.
"Didn't Pete tell you about it?" Vegas said in pique.
"Tell me about what?" The only thing Pete told me was you fucking restrained him. And it's not like a good point to boast, damnass.
"Well, Pete is... a masochist." Vegas scuffed.
"Wh-what? What's that?" I raised an eyebrow to him.
"One who get aroused while being tortured. I already knew that from the first time I laid my eyes on him. But he's not completely aware of it yet." Vegas iterated, and I only stared at him in shock.
"W-wha..."
"And if my calculations were correct, he won't just give up on me."
I was completely silent and bewildered on what Vegas was saying.
"He wasn't feeling it at first, but after we made out countless times, he's starting to."
I gasped on his statement. Just what the hell are you guys playing?
"And...?" I don't know why I asked, as if Che's profanity has possessed me.
"He escaped because he misunderstood, not because he couldn't accept it himself." Vegas continued blabbing shits, but my brain couldn't keep up. "I just want to explain myself to him, Porsche. Please, help me."
My head hurts so much now. I was contemplating how I would react. I wanna know more about what happened to them, but at the same time my mind can't keep up with the words Vegas was using. I was in the middle of a mind battle when suddenly, my phone rang.
Ringg! Ringg!
I shuffled through my pocket and took out my phone. And when I saw the name of the caller, I immediately glanced at Vegas. His eyes were brimming with anticipation.
"Answer it. And put him on speakers." Vegas told me, and I just followed what the bastard said.
"What's up?" I muttered on the other end of the line. And noticed that Vegas pulled over again on the side. Damn, would this be my final destination?
[Where the fuck did you go? University?]
Pete playfully said, and it sends Vegas immediately on cloud nine. The latter was so out of it that he rested his head on the steering wheel, gazing deeply on my phone.
"Yea. What's up?" I replied shortly, periodically glancing at the love-struck bastard.
[Then you'll be seeing Praew too?]
Pete said cheerfully. Damn this bastard is really gonna get me in trouble. I sat still, glancing at the bastard beside me whose eyes were burning like hell. I didn't dare to answer Pete, because I'm afraid Vegas will throw me out of the car again.
[How is she? ]
Pete's sentence made Vegas look at me with a lot of pressure,
Whoa!!! All right, Porsche If you choose to help a friend from a destination where you might be able to clear your doubts even further, you will be left in the middle of the road. But if you choose to help Vegas, it's like betraying your friends, but...
"Praew already has a boyfriend!" I closed my eyes and said. I choose to clear my mind and then do something good to atone Pete later.
[Huh? But she told me that she was single!]
Pete protested on the other line.
"His boyfriend was brutal, and a boxer too! And he's quite possessive of Praew, so just give it up man!"
I'm really sorry, Praew!
[I am good at fighting too, Porsche! And you're lying to me!]
"I'm not lying Pete! So, stop messing around with her anymore! Bye now!"
I hurriedly cut the line and pressed the end button. Vegas then took a long sigh before giving me a look of disdain. The bastard remained silent throughout the ride. As if he was in such a deep, unpredictable state. I had to pretend that I was sleeping while looking at the road along the way.
Vegas steered the car further away from the map and out of town. It's not far from Bangkok, but the road is lined with grassy forests on either side, and the road is rough. The farther you go, the blockier it becomes.
"Porsche, I'll be right back." Vegas said to me, before he went out of the car.
I was silent the whole drive, and when I snapped out of my trance, we're already in the front of a southern restaurant. Vegas took a while, and I only slumped my head back on the seat.
Minutes passed, and the bastard was back with a cheerful face.
"He's hungry. Isn't he?" I muttered to myself.
Dang I haven't eaten anything all day. But that curry clearly wasn't for me.
"Here." As soon as Vegas came in the car, he put those curries on my lap.
"Not hungry." I was, but damn I'm way confused right now.
"I didn't say that's for you. It's for Pete." Vegas irked.
I held up the bag of curry and looked at about ten bags of rice. "Does he like this that much?"
"A lot. But you can't tell him that I bought it. If he knows it's from me, he'll just throw it away." Vegas said in a slight protest, before maneuvering the car away.
"Ahh. So that's why you're in a hurry. Afraid the shop will close?" I teased him, but Vegas was unfazed.
The translations stopped here, sorry, I don't know why it stops here. If I remember correctly, the remainder of the chapter is about Porsche trying to find out what happened to his parents and what secrets the main family holds.
I recommend reading the KinnPorsche novel to understand what is going on. You can buy the English translation on MEB, but it doesn't have all chapters. There must be English translations of those chapters somewhere, or you can read it in Thai on Tunwalai, buy coins for a few dollars, and use Google Translate to translate from Thai to English. I know many people read the official novel this way :) please support the original author!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The next chapter has major spoilers for the last chapters of KinnPorsche novel. In a nutshell, the main family and secondary family (in other words, Kinn's family and Vegas' family) have a bloody confrontation, Pete, Porsche and other characters are also there. The big secret revolving around Porsche's parents is revealed. It's a mess.

It's a very sad chapter :(
PETE POV
The day everything changed in everyone's life. That day all my emotions began to flare, what I had kept for myself for so many days, it was the moment when I began to take it out.
The confrontation between both families was too terrifying. The main family and the secondary family, had always faced each other in business, as in daily activities, everything was an endless and absurd competition.
However, on the day of the confrontation everything was different, the situations that took place there were unexpected for everyone. Suddenly, fear, panic, these emotions increased in my heart.
I tried to fulfill my duties all the time, trying to support Porsche in whatever way was necessary. However, the moment I tried to protect my brother and friend, something inside me began to emerge, the emotions that I had suppressed began to come out. I was in a panic, I was dumbfounded, suddenly as I was fighting, I looked up and saw him.
Vegas had just arrived surrounded by bodyguards. My heart was beating in an indescribable way, it just seemed like it would explode in my own chest. The truth is that I know that I have tried to deceive myself all this time, but I can no longer deny how much I like him.
That person is the owner of my whole being, in my heart the feelings do not stop flowing. All this time I have only focused on my work, just as he must fulfill his tasks. We have not yet had the courage to face our problems or at least I prefer it that way. At this moment he is in front of me, I know that he is looking at me, because I can feel his eyes on me, which causes my heart to fret even more. But I must stand firm and show no weakness in front of him.
Suddenly, the confusion and chaos worsened, as Korn and Khun Kan began stirring in the past. The truth is that I really cannot understand what is happening, but I am sure of one thing, it is that it is about the parents of Porsche. Without a doubt, it must be about the investigation Porsche was running, which had caused the problem between him and Mr. Kinn. I know at that time Porsche asked for my help, I tried to help him, but my mind and body were not right at all at that time.
In the middle of this dark and stormy night, while the rain was unstoppable, the confrontation between both families escelated even more, once the discussion between the brothers stopped, everyone's spirits worsened. Suddenly, the rounds of gunfire began, in which both groups were protected by bodyguards.
Bang bang bang!
In the midst of the ongoing battle, I began to prepare to aim and shoot all possible targets in the secondary family. However, the situation became somewhat strange, it was something curious, since all of them began to ignore me.
Paf, Punch, Paf.
"Come on ..."
"What ?!", between the punches and kicks, I turned, watching as everyone ran by my side.
This is too weird, I'm the head bodyguard of the main family, I am even Master Khun's first bodyguard and everyone here ignores me. "You bastards! You can't ignore me! You'll see what I can do with you Mudbloods."
"Really, I can't bear all this! I can't allow it"
Everyone ignores my presence, so I'm forced to attack first. By observing the situation, I can see how one of the bodyguards of the secondary family has trapped Arm. I cannot allow it, so I use all my strength and go to his rescue and grab his neck to separate him from Arm.
"Leave it to me, you protect Master Khun so he can get out of here", I held the man with all my strength, but the more time passed, my excitement and annoyance grew, because I noticed that this bodyguard was just trying to escape without the slightest intention of attacking me.
Surely, everyone thinks that I am weak because of my personality, but I am a strong person very capable of fighting. After Porsche, I am the bodyguard with the best defense skills!
Suddenly everything in my mind was destroyed, Master Kinn was pointing his gun at Vegas's head. At this moment my mind and heart were startled, my whole body ached, I was really dejected to observe such a cruel scene, even though I know that Mr. Kinn, he would never dispel Mr. Vegas, despite everything he is part of the family, but still so I can't help but be afraid.
"Second brother, just kill me! What will you leave for the others?"
"Go to hell!"
When observing said scene, my body could not be controlled anymore and ran to where they were. Vegas, I held him with such force that we both fell to the ground.
"Enough!!" Suddenly, my emotions exploded and I started hitting Vegas's face. I was mad, I could only hate him, because I hated what he had become, I hated the way he corrupted me and treated me. I don't think I can take it anymore.
"Pete ...!", My blows continued all over his face, so Vegas didn't have time to speak. I had to let all my fury and anger that I had been holding down come out at once.
"You bastard! It's your fault all this!"
"Pete! Take it easy! Please can you hear me? I'm sorry!" Vegas grabs my shoulders, pulling me away from him, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry!"
But I try not to listen to him using all my strength to let go of him. It really disgusted me, I don't want to have Vegas near me.
"Vegas, let me go!"
"Pete, what is it? Did someone try to attack you?" Vegas looked at me surprised, concerned, so, for a second, a minimum moment I was caught in his gaze, when I saw his eyes directly. Suddenly, all my serenity evaporated, my heart raced on the verge of collapse, when I remembered that this is the person who has hurt me so much, but also he is the person I love so much.
"Vegas, let go of me!" I lost my strength for a moment, and I almost collapsed. That moment gave Vegas the opportunity to turn me around, straddling me.
"Pete ... I ... I love you!" Vegas pressed all his body on me, preventing me from moving, his eyes fixed on me. Then he turned his gaze to observe everyone around him, including his father.
"Let go!"
"Pete, I may die today at the hands of the main family, but....if I can choose who will kill me, I only wish for the person who does it to be you. Only you."
As I listened to those absurd words, I took a big momentum, knocking Vegas to the ground. I grabbed him tightly by the neck and straddled him, reversing the situation.
"What stupid things are you saying ?! Do you really want to die ?!" I yelled.
An emotion was born in me, I had rage, anger and pain. Hearing that Vegas wanted to die shook my heart, causing it to hurt even more.
"I won't take it anymore, Pete. If you want me to die, I'll just die," Vegas said and his tone of voice was soft but serious.
I was really full of anger, so I could only use all my strength to hurt him. Without a doubt, I was hurting him a lot, but he did not look either angry or angry. Nor did he fight.
"Enough !! What are you saying?" I clenched my fist tightly, and directed it towards Vegas's face, but the instant I saw his eyes, my whole body went weak, so I could only deflect my fist and hit the ground hard, next to Vegas's face.
"Why?! Why?! Why?!" Over and over I hit the hard ground, so hard that I started to bleed.
"Pete! Stop...Pete! Stop it!! You're hurting yourself!", Vegas tried to stop my fist, but it was impossible and he couldn't, so he used all his strength to subdue me.
"Stop!!", Vegas yelled out loud, grabbing my wrists. "Pete, why are you doing this...? Don't do it anymore. Are you hurting like that day...?"
As I listened to Vegas's words, little by little my repressed feelings began to come out completely, the pain, the anguish, the regret, the anger that I have for what I have become, they were all outside.
I pulled away from Vegas immediately, tossing him to the side. Suddenly, I hear everything around me again, the sounds of everyone hitting each other, the sounds of falling to the ground, the argument between Khun Korn and Khun Kan. Vegas continues to focus on me, in the same way I can notice how his gaze strays to his father.
From one moment to another, Phi Chan approached Khun Kan with a weapon, Vegas quickly got up from the ground running to protect him.
In that instant I was able to react, I held Vegas with my hands, preventing him from running towards his father.
"Pete ...", Vegas whispered and said my name. His look was puzzled, but still I held him tightly to hold him on the ground, but he moved so strongly that it was impossible for me to stop him. Suddenly, he begins to lose control. I saw how he clenched his jaw with force, while he looked at me implacably, a hundred who wanted to say something, but only directed his gaze to where his father was.
"If you had to choose today...who would you choose?" Vegas asked me
But his look of pain confused me even more.'If I had to choose...' Would I really want to be next to the man who has hurt me so much?

For a moment, I was distracted by his question, Vegas breaking free from my grip, rushing quickly to where Khun Kan was standing.
"Vegas!" I hurried up and ran after him, chaos in my head. First of all I must protect Vegas and the first family. Second... I'm too scared that Vegas will get hurt.
'What should I do? Should I become a traitor? Should I betray the first family that I love and respect so much? Or ... Should I betray my feelings?'
I ran trying to stop Vegas, when I was about to take his arm, suddenly, everything stopped, there was a great silence in the place. What I never could have imagined, was happening at this moment. Porsche was pointing a gun at Khun Korn's head.
I tried to understand the situation, but I really don't know what will happen, will Porsche really do it? Khun Kan's image worsened. But also, I could see the pain between those three people, Khun Korn, Khun Kan and Porsche, every time the name of Porsche's mother was mentioned.
Khun Kan's eyes were filled with pain, that powerful and unshakable man began to collapse, in a creepy way. Vegas, he looked completely confused, despite always repeating that he hates his father, deep in his heart he has always kept his great love for him.
Looking at the Vegas situation, I wanted to ask him, 'How do you feel right now?' No matter how rigorous their upbringing is, every child must be devastated to see their father cry and break down like that.
"Honey, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," Khun Kan said hoarsely.
(Note: Honey is Porsche's mother)
At that moment everything was chaos again, when Khun Kan snatched a weapon from one of the bodyguards and pointed it at Khun Korn. From one second to the next, Phi Chan attacked, causing the entire battle to begin again.
"To the greenhouse!" Khun Korn shouted loudly, all the bodyguards from the secondary family rushed to help Kan, including Vegas, but it was already too late. The greenhouse had been blocked from the inside, making it impossible to get through.
"Tear it all down!!", Vegas tried to break it.
After a moment, the bodyguards of the main family continued to arrive. Now they were led by Mr. Kim and the fight started again.
"Don't move, or I'll shoot!" Master Kim said in a thick voice, causing the people of the second family to surrender.
"So... can I go out now? It's all over now." Master Khun's voice was heard loudly, but no one paid any attention, not even Master Kim.
"Put down your weapons, now! And raise your hands!", The bodyguards of the second family do what Master Kim orders.
At this moment I was still next to Vegas, which was somewhat uncomfortable when Mr. Kim put his gaze on me, since I could feel a strong pressure in his gaze. Vegas froze, his head propped on the door, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, flashes of sadness spread across his face, accompanied by emotions that I already know.
The emotions he was showing now were the same emotions I saw on his face the day he locked me up. The demon Vegas had returned ....
"..."
Suddenly I reacted, grabbed my gun and pointed at Vegas from behind. Now that I think about it, 'The way my gun is aimed at his back, I really like it.'
Vegas didn't even look at me at all, the only person who could react right now was Mister Khun fluttering very cheerfully.
I perfectly remembered that day when Vegas hit me and locked me up. I can remember every wound, every bad word and every mistreatment that he inflicted on me, all those unfortunate memories. But the moment that my eyes observed his face, his smile, the images began to float.
Dealing with Vegas's personality was a constant torture, the moment he came home frustrated, everything changed, he could change from anger to pain in a second. He always repeated that no one loved him, how difficult it was to live that way, lonely and abandoned. Each of those days that he held me in seclusion, I could hear and feel the true emotions that came from his heart.
In the beginning, when he had me trapped, I used to pretend to be okay with him, to stay alive and not have to deal with his anger either. But every day I woke up with the disappointment that I was a simple prisoner who had no choice but to survive. But when the look in his eyes began to change, suddenly I could feel calmer, every detail of him or simple words he spoke made me feel comfortable.
"Vegas?"
It was still raining heavily, but I still spoke his name in a whisper. But Vegas was still dazed, which made my nerves and mood sharpen even more.
"Do you want to eat something?" I gulped down my throat.
I know that what I said is something stupid and dangerous, because if it was the Vegas that I remember, without thinking he would turn around and hit me. So I can only wish in my heart for you to understand what I am doing.... I just wish you to be calm. Unlike other times, I wasn't pretending, I wasn't expecting anything in return, and I didn't want to earn his trust either. 'I just want him to be fine.'
Suddenly he smiled ...
"Are you hungry?" Vegas turned his face, staying right in front of me, I could see how he could shake, since his entire body was soaked by the rain.
"Yes. I'm hungry, I can eat whatever you have, it doesn't matter." I bit my lips hard, unable to believe what I was saying. Even if Vegas ran up to me and hit me, I really wouldn't care. I can only think that I want him to be okay.
"I can't cook noodles for you now, Wait a bit.... be patient," Vegas said with concern. But then, he looked away from me, sighing long, like he was relieved.
"I ... I don't want to be the same as before," he said with a trembling voice, moving away his eyes and tilting his head.
"Why?"
Thick tears began to flow from his eyes, tears that flowed inexhaustibly all over his cheekbones and joined the drops of water from the rain that hit him.
"I told you once Pete, eating instant noodles will quickly kill you, but I want you to stay with me. For a long time Pete. You may never forgive me, but for me it is enough that you are happy and I can watch you from a distance every day." Vegas was murmuring in a pleading voice with his head bowed.
In these moments I can feel that all his sincerity and simplicity is transmitted to me, but also his anguish...
Vegas turned his gaze to the door again, even though the glass was too thick to see anything inside. His hands held the door tightly, as if he would break it with a single touch. Honestly, none of us out here can understand what's happening there. But, that was not very relevant to me, since all I had in mind was Vegas and what he was feeling at the moment.
Since childhood, Vegas and Khun Kan have maintained a distance in their relationship. However, the father and son connection only appeared in business and in front of the company's investors. They never managed to unite as their bond should be. They just kept distant from each other, with no approach for conversations. They never showed their emotions to each other.
Bang !!!
A shot rang out from within. Vegas began to shake and lowered his head, to hide his emotions for a little longer. 'What happened to Khun Kan..?' He the only member of the second family who was in there.
The rest of the people were desperate when they heard the sound, they began to collapse on the ground defeated. Since everyone guessed the fate of Khun Khan's life, even though the heavy door was still closed.
"Now, I have nothing left. I always hoped that the day would come when he would acknowledge me. Now, I'm sure that day will never come," said Vegas slowly, as his tears fell in despair.
Vegas's mind began to collapse, his stability beginning to dissipate. Now Vegas was completely destroyed. I felt powerless, my hand was holding the gun pointed at him and he didn't even react to it.
His head continued to look at the ground, he was frozen. Suddenly, I felt myself weakening, my arms began to weigh more and more, as if the iron of the weapon became too heavy.
This weapon, I no longer wanted to hold it. I wanted to hug him, contain him. I want to see him smile again. I want Vegas to look at me and be glad I'm by his side. I want him to be able to see in my eyes that I love him, that I am suffering together with him. I want you to know....
I immediately withdrew my weapon from his back. Vegas took a deep breath and closed his eyes.. it was clear that his head hurt.
"Ah!!" Vegas seemed unable to suppress his emotions, starting to slam his fists on the door hard
"Father!! Father!!" He began to call his father screaming desperately, his face was completely flooded, either by tears or rain. Vegas was in a completely unbalanced and fragile state, something I never thought I would see. I could feel how his emotions were skyrocketing, how he was beginning to be a simple and fragile person. This image of Vegas in this state, caused my heart to collapse again, it felt tight and pain would not stop flowing, leaving my heart to feel tightly tight, so much that it hurts. At this point Vegas couldn't even stand.
After a while, Phi Chan opened the thick greenhouse door, what appeared in front of everyone ... was Khun Kan's body lying motionless on the ground. Next to him was Khun Korn standing like an oak.
You could also see Porsche standing firm and ready, but giving Vegas a pitying look. Porsche never wanted this to end like this, despite all the harm Vegas did to him.
Vegas was dumbfounded to see the image that appeared in front of his eyes. Khun Kan's corpse was in front of him, he could only shake his head from side to side inadvertently to the cruel reality. The person who lay there was his carefree father, his father, the culprit of the thousands of wounds that were repressed in the heart of Vegas. But despite all this, Vegas longed for his acceptance ... more than that, he always wanted the love of Khun Kan.
"Vegas!!"
Vegas turned his back on such a heartbreaking image, right now... there there was nothing left to do... not even crying would change the situation. No matter how loud I called his name, Vegas was devastated, I could not assimilate or accept what was happening there, much less hear my call.
Suddenly, Vegas ran out of there, all his subordinates from the second family followed him and went after him. The whole atmosphere had turned into a deep silence, only cries could be heard, suddenly we were all facing an emptiness that could not be described.
Even knowing my choice up to this point, the words of Vegas today bounced through my head. Suddenly Vegas's back vanished and he disappeared into the middle of nowhere. The heavy rain was so heavy that it didn't let me see anything at all.
As he continued, his words echoing in my head, my heart began to clear. Suddenly, I slowly brought my hand up to my chest, grabbed the brooch that represented being a member of the main family and removed it. Right now I was making the most difficult decision of my life. I was renouncing the allegiance of the main family, to which I always gave my devotion and loyalty to.
I began to look for the most important person there, the one in whom I blindly believed and respected to return this precious symbol. I will never forget your gratitude and the great appreciation you showed me throughout this time. All his kindness towards my family, since he was always concerned about the well-being of my grandparents. However, now my heart was broken, I couldn't continue to deceive myself anymore. I must accept my feelings. 'How long will I continue in this endless agony?'
I will always end up hurting myself over and over again, because if I have to protect one side, I would hurt myself by hurting the other side. Both families mean a lot to me, I can't really hurt anyone else.
This time, I let the main family go. They already have talented and loyal subordinates like me. But Vegas has no one left.... I'm certainly not feeling pity for him, I am just following my heart. I'm sure that if I stayed here doing nothing, my heart would end up even more hurt.
'No legacy, of no family is as valuable as the value of honesty'
"My lord, I'm sorry ...." I handed him the brooch that I carried in my hands, that brooch that was given to me out of trust and loyalty. I never imagined that it would be me who would make the important decision to abandon them, this is too much pain that I cannot resist. But it would cause me more pain if I didn't go after that person. The person that I really love.
"I quit," I said firmly. I don't know what he will thin, 'Will he be disappointed in me? I do not know.' But I must persevere and withdraw from here.
Everyone around me was watching without understanding, but he just smiled at me ...
"Go take care of him."
Khun Korn was always a cold person but discreet when making decisions. I bowed my head and nodded. I then retired from the scene, turning my back on the position of chief bodyguard and first bodyguard of the first son of the main family. What I am leaving behind now is a devastated first family mired in its own grief.
"Pete!" Master Khun was shouting my name, the usual sound of his voice ringing in my ears. It made me shiver, I couldn't imagine the state he'd be in.
'I'm sorry but I love him. The young master will always remain someone important to me. But now he has Arm and Phon, who love him too. Young master, you don't need me anymore to live. I love him, I promise never to forget him for a second of my life. His warmth and the moments we live together has undoubtedly been the best thing I could experience....'
(Note: Young master = Khun I think)
"Vegas, Vegas!" I started screaming, seeing that Vegas kept walking away.
Vegas got into a car, without even looking back. He started the car and sped off, while the incessant rain and strong wind did not stop.
I tried to go after him, quickly took the keys to the main family's car and followed him, accelerating without worrying about anything else. My heart knew that his anger was growing more and more.
'Pete... I'm sorry. Stay with me. Can you promise me that you will never leave me?'
Vegas'words echoed in my head, everything he's done to me is unforgivable, I shouldn't even be going after him. But...Vegas is Vegas'.
At first it was all heartbreak after heartbreak, pain after pain. He was really a very bad person, even though I still haven't forgotten and it hurts all the damage he did to me, I still can't let go.
"Vegas. I won't let you ever feel lonely again. Shit!" My foot hit the gas fully trying to keep up with the other car. My hands held tightly, in the distance I could see Vegas escaping from me.
"I'm here!! What the hell are you doing? You fucking bastard!" I kept yelling inside the car, hoping that he could hear everything I was saying.
I am scared, terrified, too nervous about what is going to happen. Vegas will carry all of this embedded in his heart for the rest of his entire life.
The highway is too slippery, due to the rain not stopping, which worries me even more, but 'What should I do? Vegas never gave me his phone number, so I can't even call him. '
"Vegas, please. Here I am."
As I was about to reach Vegas, an incident suddenly made me lose my mind. A Sedan got too close to Vegas causing him to dodge it and thus he completely lost control of his own car...
Crash!!! Boom!!!
Suddenly, loud sounds resonated outside. My feet tried to stop as fast as possible. However, what I had been dreading happened right in front of my eyes. Vegas's car went flying through the air, making a frontal turn, then hitting the side of the road. My mind disconnected, for a moment all my senses were almost completely gone. My brain was blank, what was throbbing on the left side of my chest seems to want to suddenly stop working.
I wasn't aware of what is happening, I could only think that I should get out of the car immediately to run to his aid. Suddenly, I was caught by a crowd of people. My mouth kept screaming his name nonstop. Multi colored lights were flashing everywhere, everyone in the place was trying to keep me away from the scene. I couldn't process anything, I just wanted to get to him. Suddenly my body felt covered with hands that held me so as not to go after him.
The cold air began to hit my body, which made me regain consciousness. When I looked around, I was sitting in front of the emergency room at the hospital.
"Vegas," I whispered his name.
Even though I couldn't feel anything from my body at all, I could only wish that he was okay. I am afraid, I am afraid that I will never see him again.
"Hey!!" Let me come in!!" The loud cry belonged to the figure of a child. That person rushed straight into the emergency room.
"Khun Macao, you can't come in. Khun Macao...", Noph called his name.
"Stop it, let me go... Leave me! Let go of me! Let go of me! "
"Hey, Khun Macao ... "
Khun Macao clings to the door keeping his face firmly glued to the glass, while his voice called out to his older brother with loud and uncontrollable sobs.
"Khun Macao, sit down and wait. Khun Macao, please." The subordinates said as they tried to get him away from the door, but that didn't work.
"Who's going to take care of me now? Wake up!! You must wake up!! Wake up .. are you going to abandon me too?"
The sad image was the tragic story of a boy who had just lost his father. Even worse, now fate was taking away his older brother, who was the only person he had left in this world.
Seeing such a situation, I could only walk to where Khun Macao was, being close to him I could see his desolation. The tears ran down his face, just like mine. Noph turned to look at me, slowly releasing Khun Macao. Suddenly, he took a step back and got out of my way. I knelt on the ground in front of Macao, held his legs, then he turned to look at me, completely shocked to see my actions.
"Khun Macao need not worry. Vegas is going to be fine." I said, forging a subtle smile on my face. Seeing his face completely wet with tears, I reached out to gently caress his back. Macao just cried, he cried so much until he was powerless and his body stopped resisting and then he hugged me.
"Don't lie, it will really be fine, right?" Khun Macao said, supporting his body next to mine. Khun Macao is as lonely now, as lonely as Vegas has been all this time.
Being on my knees in front of Khun Macao, it is a promise, a promise that I will be with him, as well as with that person, Vegas.
At the moment, I am not sure if Vegas will accept me with him, but without hesitation I will stay with him.
I will take care of our love as much as I can, because I already know that my life without him will no longer have meaning.

VegasPete Special Chapters [KP] - Vegas Pete Special Chapter 3 & 4

PETE POV
"Khun Macao, what would you like to eat? I can ask Arm to bring some food," I said as I handed Arm a glass of water. Arm wanted to accompany me these days, and he had also brought some things from the main family's house.
"How can you call me 'Khun' Macao? Just call me Macao, you are my older brother's wife, right?"
(Note: "Khun" is formal and means something like Mister, so Macau tells Pete he can ditch the formalities because Pete is his older brother's wife haha!!)
Arm choked in the glass of water he was drinking. His face and body froze, he was completely shocked.
"Who told you that ?!" I was really embarrassed, 'Damn! How can you say something like that in front of Arm? What will he think when he hears this? '
"Noph, he said that brother Vegas loves brother Pete very much, is that true?" Macao said standing in front of me.
"I don't know. No! Vegas and me, there is nothing!" I said. I may not be the bodyguard of the main family anymore, but still I must act correctly.
"It's not true! Then why have you been here all this time...?" Macao said, as sadness clouded his face once again.
"...."
Khun Macao is a good boy, although he is a spoiled and immature boy, he has managed to handle the whole situation in a very good way. I could see had a few friends, because he did not have many people around him. However, because of that, Khun Macao opened up so easily to me.
"Nong Macao....can you hear me?" I took Macao to the sofa and we sat next to Arm, he really was a loving and well-mannered boy.
"......"
"I have to say something important, I know I'm not close to the family but..."
"What's wrong? Phi Pete?" He interrupted my words. Arm, who was next to us, his look told me I should leave the room which I refused.
"I know you're upset, because you can't forget everything Khun Kan did, but he's your father. Nong Macao, you must say his last goodbye, in order to forgive Khun Kan. Forgiveness will always make Nong Macao feel better."

"...."
"Vegas, if he were awake, he would want it that way. He would definitely go see his father off one last time. Nong Macau, just do it for him. Vegas has always cared and protected Macau, now is the time that you can do the same for him."
I held Macau's hand, the whole time as he listened to me with his head lowered. Finally, he lifted his face and smiled.
Macau is not a bad boy or liar, despite everything Master Khun said. Like his brother, he only shows a wall to protect himself. Vegas, I think you have taken good care of your brother, he is a calm and charismatic boy.
"So... you don't want to go looking for someone," Arm said with a big smile.
(Note: took me a while to understand this, but I think Arm means Dr. Top. Both Macau and Tankhun have a crush on that Doctor.).
"Will Phi Khun be upset?" Macao asked Arm, asking for his opinion.
"He didn't come with me, even if he burns the house later, he can't do anything now."
"Poor Doctor Top!" I said smiling, as Macao got up and followed Arm to the hospital cafeteria. The two left the room, I immediately closed the door, I drew the curtains of the room, to calmly approach the person who was lying there in the hospital bed.
Today is the fifth day since everything happened. I have not left this room at any time, I think this waiting is the most difficult thing that I have had to live with.
I sit by the bed, staring at the person lying there fast asleep. A few weeks ago, this was the person I wanted to get away from the most. I hated him deeply, but now...if he lets me escape to the end of the world, without hesitation I would go after him. My feelings float on a huge ocean, therefore, I would swim everywhere just to be with him.
On the day of the accident, I tried to stay calm as much as possible and accept the reality of what was happening. Finally, I could only appreciate how valuable time is. That is why we should all do what we love and not remain in deep regrets about what we could have done. Since, from one moment to another, your life can change forever.
"Vegas... Nong Macao, he's getting more and more mature." I reached out to take his hand, gently rubbing it. Then I leaned closer to his ear and whispered. "Vegas, I will try to take care of Nong as much as I can. But you have to wake up. I miss you too much..."
I rubbed his cheek lightly with the palm of my hand, every day of these long and endless five days, I said the same thing over and over again, waiting for you to wake up. I want to leave the past behind and move forward with our future.
"Vegas... I've come back for you. Will... will you leave me alone?"
At that time, when you were taken to the emergency room, I felt that I would go crazy. The doctor said that the patient had lost a lot of blood and that he could not assure anything, which tore my heart. During that night, I was with Nong Macao in the waiting room, walking endlessly from one side to the other.
As the following days passed, we took shifts, going home and back. So we could eat, shower and change. On the third day, the doctor approached to give more information: Vegas had a broken arm, two broken ribs, but that was irrelevant. What was complicated, were the blows he had received to his head.
After a few days of observation, Vegas was transferred to a personal room. The doctor's recommendations were that we had to talk to him even though he was sleeping, it would encourage him to open his eyes...
'When will he wake up?'
According to the doctor's instructions, everything depends on the patient, on their physical and mental state. I could only think that due to the latest events, Vegas may never wake up.
Despite all the worries, Nong Macao and I tried to speak to him calmly, so as not to affect Vegas at all. We never left him alone and massaged his body constantly. But as the days went by, the fear in my heart increased and my silent crying became too difficult to control, but I still had to do everything I could to bring Vegas back.

"....."

The days passed with the monotony of being in the hospital, without any news. But I could be proud of something, I finally convinced Nong Macao to attend the funeral of his father Khun Kan.
--
"Vegas is beginning to respond, there is nothing to worry about anymore, Pete. He is no longer refusing any medications and the neurological exams are in the normal range. What will you do now?" Doctor Top said in front of me and Nong Macao. Then he fell silent and approached Nong Macao.
"Macau, do you want to eat something with me?" Dr. Top invited Nong Macao, who kept his head down.
"I want to be with him," Macao said in a shaky voice.
"Come on. Phi Pete will take care of him. We'll just have a drink for a moment and come back. You need to get some fresh air and let go of anything bad so let's go ..." Doctor Top reached out and patted Nong Macao's head.
"Nong Macao, just go to Dr. Top. I'll take care of everything." I said approaching the people in front of me.
"Phi Pete......"
"Just go. Don't worry about anything, everything will be fine. He will wake up." I told him, trying to comfort myself as well.
[One week earlier]
Dr. Top called to discuss the state of Vegas to explain that his body was in good shape. But the problem was his head, his mind was not responding well to treatment. However, everything was fine. I really felt that in this whole situation Dr. Top was not concerned with Vegas, but with Nong Macao.
"I consulted a nearby psychiatrist. Nong Macao suffers from depression. Therefore, you have to observe his behavior."
"Depression?"
"Yes! His disorder is caused by an abnormal secretion of substances in his brain, in addition to his mental instability. If it is not treated properly, it can end very badly."
"So what is there to do?"
"At the moment that is happening, it is all very complicated. He must be in a familiar place, to feel comfortable and protected. Pete, you must not abandon him."
"Doctor Top, tell me what to do."
"Just do not leave him alone. So that he does not try to do crazy things. He should not be exposed to stressful situations so that they do not affect his emotions. He must face reality, but for that you must teach him. This way his symptoms will improve."
"Will he get over it?
"Yes "
[Back to the present]
"Vegas, I feel sorry for Macau. Why must he go through all this? What should I do? "
I flopped onto the side of his bed, while my shaking hands wrapped around his waist. I just wanted to hug him, never letting go again.
'When will this end? I'm tired...do I still have hope?'
These days, I can't sleep anymore. I'm afraid to wake up and not find him next to me. Or that Vegas will wake up at night, and that he does not find anyone by his side.
'Will you really leave me?' I'm afraid that if I take my eyes off him and I'm not here, he'll just leave me.
'Do you think I want to be alone again?' I fear his situation will decline and he will not recover.
'I want you to know that I am still here and I will not give up.' I hugged Vegas tightly, letting my tears flow down my face, to let out some pain drowned in my heart.
"I'm not going anywhere," suddenly a hoarse voice rang out, as he touched my arm with his hands to restrain me.
My body and thoughts stopped for an instant, my heart was pounding, I could hardly breathe. I felt that my throat was tight, preventing my mouth from speaking.
"What!?" I lifted my body quickly, exalting myself with excitement, I didn't even have time to be ashamed, I could only lean in to hug Vegas's body. His smiling eyes just looked at me sweetly.
"Pete, why are you crying?" Vegas brought his hand up to my head and gently caressed it.
At this time, I could not form a word, only my loud sobs were heard inside the room. I felt light, as if the great mountain of problems that made me collapse had been lifted from me. The anguish, pain, and despair vanished from one moment to the next. Finally it was all over. Now I could feel my body next to his, I could feel the warmth of his embrace. Now, without hesitation, I was willing to face what love means, along with Vegas.
I will hold on to it for as long as it takes. This time, it will be forever.
"What's wrong ... why are you crying?" Vegas asked. I just shook my head as I leaned against his chest, which was totally wet from my tears that continued to flow.
"Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?" Vegas stared at my face, as his fingers glided gently over my cheek to prevent my tears from continuing to fall.
"Uh ... I'm not hallucinating, am I?" I said incredulously. Vegas smiled slightly. "Vegas .... you really aren't leaving, are you?"
"I'm not...going anywhere. Did you get tired of waiting? I'm sorry I left you alone."
I brought his hands up to mine and held them. "Are you hungry? I'll bring something for you. Yes, you're hungry, aren't you?" I said getting up from the bed.
All this time I've been asking for Vegas to wake up, it finally came true, but 'what should I do now that he has awakened?' I knew exactly what to do when Vegas woke up, I had practiced it many times. But... now it was real... Shiaa! 'What do I do now?'
"Pete, I'm fine..." Vegas said as I stood up.
For a moment I thought about what I should do, but my brain didn't react. So, I just leaned over to him, to continue in a warm hug, hoping everything would be like this forever.
"Thanks, thanks." Vegas held me tightly, kissing me softly on the face over and over again.
"Brother!" Right at the time I was holding Vegas's hand tightly, Nong Macao and Dr. Top returned, with the nurse.
"How are you, stubborn boy?" Vegas brought his hand to Nong Macao holding his arm tightly.
"Pete took good care of Nong."
Vegas turned to smile at me.
"Now that the patient has woken up, I will carry out the corresponding examinations. A nurse will take him to the exam room. To check that all is well. Understood?" Dr. Top took note of the symptoms. and reviewed his external condition before turning to the nurse.
"Okay," I escorted Vegas to the exam room and they checked if everything in him was fine, if his brain responded according to the synapses.
His general condition was fine, he had to keep his arm in a cast, but otherwise everyone was in perfect condition.
Vegas must stay in the hospital to continue physical therapy for a while, before returning home. After this day, I felt really happy that everything was over.
Vegas returned to his room, even though he was still sedated. He began asking questions, such as how long he had been unconscious, where Nong Macao had been.
Nong Macao replied that he had been asleep for a whole month and that he had been cared for by everyone and that he came to visit him daily.
'Bastard! You damn Macao! You never took care of anything, I am the one who took care of everything and everyone. I'm here twenty four hours a day.....whatever. I will continue to do so, as long as it takes... '
"Pete ... if I fall asleep again, you won't disappear, will you?" Vegas said as he settled into bed. He had been given a lot of meds so he was pretty sleepy.
"I will stay by your side. I promise. Even if you forget me today, tomorrow or the next day, I will stay by your side forever." I said as I turned off the lights in the room and Vegas fell asleep.
'Just wake up soon!' Otherwise ....
It was getting dark and Nong Macao received a phone call and left the room to talk.
"The main family prepared a party, will you go?" Macao asked me.
"No. I won't leave Vegas alone."
"The first brother said we should be there."
"Nong, do you want to go? If Nong wants to go, just go. I'll stay here."
"I want to stay with Phi Pete and Phi Vegas."
"Nong Macao. Just go. You must have fun too." I told Macau, but he shook his head.
Knock Knock
"Pete, this is great. Good morning Macau." Che said, as he entered along with Khun Kim. I waved to him and nodded to Khun Kim.
"Dad asked me to bring you some fruit." Khun Kim put the fruit on the dining room table. His demeanor was as distant and cold as usual.
"Phi Khun said to take Macau home." Ché said smiling at Nong Macao, who turned to ask my opinion.
"Go and have fun. Give the good news, that he woke up."
"Hmm! Vegas woke up? "
"Yes, but he took his medicine and fell asleep again. "
"Congratulations, Pete, Macau. " Che said, smiling. Then he reached out and stroked my arm lightly.
"Congratulations Pete. I thought you would end up as a widow." Mr Kim said laughing.
"Maybe the one who ends up like this is me, Kim." Che turned to look at Mr. Kim and continued talking to Macao.
"You don't have to worry. We will go have fun." Che told Nong Macao.
I always knew they went to the same school, but I never imagined that they would be so close. After that kidnapping incident, maybe they became closer.
"But I won't go." Macao frowned and said.
"If listening to older brother Khun bores you, you can just go back. It will all be fun if we are together." Che said.
"Just let Nong Macao stay with the main family. There will be no one at home. I will stay here tonight." Nong Macao became uncomfortable, but then agreed to share Che's room.
Now everything seemed fine... I would like to see how the main family and the second family are doing, see that everyone is happy.
Knock Knock Knock
After the sound of the door, Doctor Top appeared.
"What's wrong Doctor Top?"
"Khun Kan's wife has given birth, it was a boy, and...."
I bit my lip hard, afraid of what may happen.
"Both the mother and the newborn are in perfect shape."
I sighed, but I don't know what will happen when Vegas finds out all this.
"But..."
I immediately looked at Dr. Top, who gave me an uncertain look, as if to say: "That's not all"
'What is it now?!'
"After giving birth, she just disappeared, no one can find her."
"What?!" 'Hell! This can not be happening...'
"She left the baby with the nurse and just disappeared."
I was stunned, I could not think clearly. "What should I do?" I sighed heavily. If that baby is the son of Khun Kan Teerapanyakun, then....
"The baby should be cared for by a secondary family."
I felt like I was about to collapse again. Khun Kan just passed away, Vegas had an accident, Macau has a mental disorder... now a newborn appeared who was abandoned by his mother, and I..
Pete Phongsakorn, the former head of the bodyguards And Master Khun's chief bodyguard, I have now established myself as a fundamental pillar of the second family. This really is too much for just one month.
'I will go crazy!'
'Karma, what debts do I have to live my life like this?
'Khun Kan's revenge on me for being here with Vegas?!'
Dr. Top took me to the newborn area. I was completely puzzled. Vegas and Macau should have the last decision on this, but ...
'Would they be able to abandon a defenseless baby?!'
Shiaaaa !!
I watched the babies in their cribs, and could only think 'What will I do now?' Vegas was in no condition to go back to work, I couldn't ask the main family for help either. The newborn would end up in an orphanage.
'What will I do now?' ....
My eyes could only look at the fragile image of that little person. Without a doubt, he must be special, because I could not take my eyes off him. His delicate skin is white and smooth, small mouth, small nose, his arms and legs move slowly. And he has incredible gray eyes ...
"....then, I will do it."
I took a deep breath and immediately assumed what was the right thing to do.

Three days later.

"Vegas ..." I sat on Vagas's bed and shook his arm slightly,
"Are you crazy?!" Vegas frowned after hearing what happened with his new baby brother.
For the past days. I had been in charge of caring for and feeding the baby, with the help of the nurses.
"Nong Pete give him the bottle.."
"He is restless, he won't stop crying!!"
I know that at this age he can't recognize someone yet, but even so, I wanted to be by his side as long as possible.......
"You went crazy!!"
Why did I feel this way? It was like an unbreakable bond, it's strange.
"But he's your little brother Vegas. Don't you have feelings for your blood?"
"I don't want to have anything to do with that woman, do you think I'll forget what she did? Never!!" Vegas said resentfully.
"So what will you do with him?" I said in a sad voice. Vegas has not accepted the adoption.
"I'll take care of taking him to a safe place. As a family member, I'll sort it out." Vegas said without concern. Now, I really felt upset.
'I can't let you push him away! Never!'
"Then I'll take care of him. Damn!!" I yelled out loud.
'Damn you, bastard! You will really do something like that, don't you have a heart? '
I was about to get out of bed, then Vegas grabbed my waist tightly, we both fell on the bed, me straddling him.
"Do you want a baby?" Vegas leaned in and whispered in my ear.
"Let go of me!" I turned my head away, resisting. I wanted to hit him, but I couldn't do anything, Vegas was still recovering.
"Why want someone else's baby? We better make ours." Vegas slid his face down my neck and said it. It makes me flinch, so I just backed away.
"It's not fun!! Let go of me!" I pushed his body hard, but before I could get up Vegas gently kissed my mouth, causing my body to go weak,
'Idiot Pete, react!'
Vegas inserted his tongue in my mouth, and I could feel him play inside of my mouth, moving it from one side to the other, stimulating each of my senses. I could feel my body melt away, completely surrendering to the heat of this moment.
Knock Knock Knock
I hurried away from Vegas, got out of bed, settling into the chair again.
"Come in," I said nervously.
"I brought the baby," the nurse entered with the little boy in her arms. I almost forgot he was asked to be brought in, so Vegas could meet him.
"Who ordered to bring him?" Vegas asked angrily, but I walked straight to take him in my arms.
"Come see your little brother," If Vegas sees his eyes, I'm sure he'll change his mind.
"Take it away!"
"Come here and look at him," I laid him next to Vegas on the bed, for him to see him. But he just dodged the situation.
"Pete!"
"No!! Calm down, don't cry, don't cry."
In all these days he had not cried. But I think Vegas provoked his crying...
"It is very noisy!" he said irritably. I went back to the nurse and gestured for her to leave, then she left the room.
"Vegas, he's just a baby, he can't be blamed for the problems of adults..."
The baby calmed down a bit.
"Vegas, he may be that woman's child, but he carries your blood. Your father's blood. He is now dead, only you and Macao remain ... don't you think you can take care of him?"
"Macau and I grew up together, don't compare me to him," Vegas said. No matter what happens, this person will never stop being who he is ...
"I know, but ... if you could choose, you wouldn't want Macau to go through something like that. It's the same, don't you think? Vegas, don't let the boy suffer."
Vegas let out a sigh. This was definitely a good sign, so I continued.
"I know you feel resentment, like your father, so now is the time to fix everything. The baby will be different, we will give him our love. Would you like to do what your father did? So Vegas, we'll raise him together, right...? The bad times will end with the arrival of this baby, Vegas," I said as I looked at the little baby who was now asleep.
"What if in the future he becomes like his mother? "
"Why would he be like her? You don't have the confidence to raise him...so we'll do it together. Don't worry, "I said, resting my head on his shoulder.
"We'll take good care of him, even if he's stubborn and headstrong like you. I'll take care of him..." I said enthusiastically.
"I know..."
As soon as Vegas finished speaking, I kissed his face sweetly. "Thanks."
"What? I still don't accept it."
"Don't evade the situation." I said hoarsely.
"Even if I don't accept it, I trust you Pete. I'll agree."
I smiled and kissed his lips boldly. "So what will we call him?" I looked at the face of the baby sleeping in my arms.
"You little bastard," Vegas said hoarsely.
"Hey, don't curse...we'll find a name to represent us." He thought carefully.
"Don't get me involved in that!" Vegas said.
"Hmm!" I hit his ribs for the refusal to help me. "... I know, Venice? It relates to your name and Macau's."
I'm really excited but Vegas just sighs, then looks at me somewhat annoyed.
"Macau won't accept this," Vegas said, annoyed.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of Macau." I said, enthusiastically.
"Who are you? Maybe you're a spiritual leader, that's why you're good at persuading people."
I smiled at Vegas's words. I think it's thanks to the many books I read while he kept me in captivity.
"I'll leave baby Venice in his crib." I walk to the crib, putting him in it gently.
"We will be your family now. When people ask what happened to your parents? Just tell them about your older brothers. Despite the age difference."
"Shouldn't he call you mother? Come here," Vegas told me to approach him. "Sit here."
I walked to the bed and lied down next to him and Vegas hugged me tightly.
"What?"
Vegas leaned in and kissed my face, "Now, you must stay with me for the rest of your life." His words echoed in my heart. I was really happy.
"You'll be my boyfriend?" My mouth spoke without thinking, I really don't know why I asked that question.
"No," Vegas said. I was immediately upset.
"Then let go of me!" I pulled away from him.
"I want you to be my wife. I think that the term of boyfriends has already passed between us. Now, we will even adopt a little demon."
"Don't talk about him like that!!" I said.
"So, do you think we are more than boyfriends?" Vegas said as he kissed my forehead.
"Certainly, you are obliged to stay with me forever." Certainly couldn't wait for a better proposition from Vegas. But in a way, his way makes me happy.
"Umm.. for the rest of my life and until the day I die." I wrapped my arms around him and laid my face on his chest.
Look at the boy in the crib, he's adorable...but ...why does this situation seem so strange and familiar to me? Vegas lying on the bed, the baby in the crib, it's like...
"Hehe...it's like you gave birth to Venice and the nurse left him with his parents." I said jokingly.
Vegas shook his head, before leading me to him. Being in the arms of Vegas, with Venice to one side, represents my safe place. All of this is like describing happiness.
From now on our new family will only bring happiness. Nothing can separate us.

--
In a spacious and luxurious room two people argued.
You could smell a nice flower scent. There was a silhouette of a person of great power. As everything glittered in that hall, only the awesome evil of a heartless being could be felt. The atmosphere, totally cold and dark, flooded the room. It didn't matter how luxurious and well cared for everything there was. The mere fact of approaching there, only caused that all the skin will bristle.
"Definitely, you will not be able to escape from me. You will never make it. Even though I do not have your body, I will take care of your soul ....." were the words that came from the mouth of the person who was there.
Khun Korn was at his desk in front of a chess board. In his hands he held pieces of walnuts (Asian nuts, used as a stimulant) which he constantly chewed as a stimulant.
"...."
"You have always said that I would only get your body, but never your soul. But now your spirit lies in my hands." He said while moving the pieces on the chessboard.
"Do you understand? Chan .... What is happening is just a simple chess move from real life." Smiling, he spoke to his main subordinate.
"That's right Mr. Korn."
"Constantly professional players only use the queen to create their checkmate, since she moves in a straight line, avoiding being touched by simple pawns, thus avoiding being touched by pawns. Others use the knight, removing pieces on their way. Now the important thing is ... What move comes next? How will the board be organized? Now, it is our time to prepare that new path...".
"Now, who will it be, the lady or the horse? "
"It all depends on the strongest ......." he said as he stared at the luxurious chessboard.
"For the moment, only the useless pieces should disappear ... the rest will come alone." With his strong hands, he knocked down each of the pieces that remained on the board.
...
At the hospital.
In the private hospital room, everything was bleak. The curtains were completely closed, preventing sunlight from entering. The atmosphere was off, and it conveyed an eerie situation.
'Succession of rights'
It was the words written on the documents in front of him. In that document, all the rights of the companies, casinos and other activities that were in charge of the second family were established. Which would pass to the power of the main family. Everything was now under the power of Korn Teerapanyakun.
"You know how everything works, Vegas. This is our family tradition, the winner will get everything" said the cold voice, with a hostile face, as he crossed his legs next to Vegas' bed.
"Now.... will you be the leader of both families?" Vegas said mockingly.
"The truth is more complicated than you think."
"It's not over yet, is it?" a deadpan Vegas said.
For all generations of the Teerapanyakun family, this eerie dynamic has played out. They have always lived through the game of their ancestors, with the belief that only the strongest will survive, because only they deserve to be on top of success. Allowing the weak to only kill each other.
Khun Korn had played his cards meticulously, using Honey to manipulate them all. Thus obtaining the long-awaited summit.
"Let's finish this soon."
"This is all part of the game."
"The second family would certainly have done the same."
"I've never wanted any of this." Vegas responded with nothing to lose.
"Didn't you want it? If you've always dedicated yourself to stealing the important documents of the first family. You took it upon yourself to leak our information to all potential clients to destroy the company" Khun Korn said sarcastically.
Vegas, who could no longer bear the unexpected visit, only signed the documents once, so that the other person would get out of there quickly. He could only admit that the first family had won. Khun Korn and his subordinates only left the room leaving Vegas behind, in a dream of no return.
"Vegas, are you awake?" a familiar voice echoed in his ears. The owner of that voice flooded the room with a welcoming clarity. He began to open the curtains, letting in the bright rays of the sun.
"I must say something important to my older brother." Macao entered the room, while Pete continued to open the curtains.
"Nong Macao! Didn't we have an agreement?" Pete said annoyed and quickly approached Macao so that he would not say anything.
"While waiting outside of school .... Phi ... Aww! Phi Pete went back to eating the instant noodles!"
Vegas smiled at the sight, the close relationship between his younger brother and his special person. By analyzing the situation, Vegas was finally able to understand that he did not need anything more in his life than those two people.
"Pete, do you want to die?" Vegas said in a serious voice.
"Instant noodles are delicious. Why do you have to treat me like this? You are plotting against my weakness." Heartbroken, Pete walked over to the bed, sitting on the side.
"Phi Pete, always says that promises are to be kept."
"Well, has anyone got close to Pete today?" Vegas said, turning his gaze to Pete.
"No!" Vegas listened to Macau, without taking his eyes off Pete. "Since I warned my friends, no one's ever got close to Pete again." Macao replied, turning on the television.
"You bastard! Who would look at me other than you?"
"I was unconscious for a whole month. So, I'm not sure. At any moment someone might come and rob you. If that were true, I would destroy every place they take you."
"Hey!! No need to worry. Only Master Khun tried to take me away."
"What?" Vegas was exalted. Causing a slight excitement in Pete. He loved when Vegas was unable to restrain his emotions.
"What's with that?" Pete said, leaning back into Vegas's arms.
"You fucking fool! That bastard won't rest until...."
"There is no other place where I want to be. I have said it countless times to Master Khun, I have already decided to stay by your side." Pete brought his fingers up to Vegas's face and stroked him gently.
Pete was the only person in the world who could ease Vegas' frustrations. He was his special person, the one who gave him comfort in the storms, also gave him the hope of continuing to live. Completing his new world of eternal happiness.

VEGAS POV
6 months later
For the past few days, I felt very uneasy with Pete's strange behavior. He walked back and forth in the bedroom, his hands rubbing his head, holding his temples, as if he was about to go crazy. Whenever I asked him a question he wouldn't answer, just shake his head and say there's nothing. It's like there's something he's worried about that he can't tell me. Honestly, I'm quite worried, because Pete is everything to me in my life, and he's been acting a little strange.
"Pete, what's wrong?" I saw Pete sitting still, one arm holding Venice while the other hand was stuffing a bottle of milk into his mouth. The kid looked at Pete with wide eyes like he wanted to ask him a question, as if he was wondering like me what's going on with him!
"Nothing," Pete quickly replied and shook his head. His eyes glanced at Venice and he smiled at him.
We've been together for several months now, Venice will soon be able to talk. I'm still not used to Pete focusing all his attention on that boy alone! I envy the kid, very envious! Because out of twenty-four hours, Pete gave twenty hours to Venice, two hours was spent sleeping, one hour bathing and playing games with him and the rest of the time was mine! I begged him to hire a nanny, but he didn't want it. He said he wants to raise Venice with his own hands. Sometimes, he'd follow me to help at the company and agree to leave Venice at the main family's house so they could babysit him, but they're idiots. Have you seen the future of Venice! He's not likely to grow up with the quality you intended.
"Vegas, give the dinosaur doll to Venice." Pete walked to the other side of the bed and I let out a heavy sigh. This room that used to be orderly, was now scattered with children's toys and plush dolls, and the black, gray and blue theme was now transformed into a colorful Alice in Wonderland theme.
"Let him go and pick it up, he's grown up." I said, leaving with frustration. But in the end, I lost to the pressure of Pete's eyes and went to pick up the silly green dinosaur doll to give to Venice, who immediately grabbed it.
"Very good. I think you can stay with Venice now." I was a bit puzzled by Pete's sparkling eyes. When Venice saw me walking to grab another doll, he looked delighted. What! I can stay with him anytime!
"What are you talking about Pete?"
"Well, tomorrow I'm going back to my hometown Chumphon and I'm not taking Venice with me," Pete smiled at me dryly.
That was another thing I was confused about. He often said he didn't want me to go home with him. The other day, Pete's grandmother called because she wanted to see his face. Since the misunderstanding with the funeral and him rising from the dead, they still haven't had the chance to meet each other. When I heard that, I wanted to pay homage to Grandma, because everything that happened was my fault. I wanted to go and ask for her forgiveness or talk with her for once. I still felt guilty in my heart, but it had gone down a bit.
"Venice doesn't have to go with you, but I must go with you," I said with a serious look on my face. Pete was acting suspicious, like he was keeping secrets from me. Or was he hiding someone at his house? Don't let me find out! Someone will surely die!
"And who will stay with Venice? Macau went to Dhamma camp for five days. The day he comes home would be the same day we come back from Chumphon. Only you can stay with Venice." Pete put Venice on the ground, because he was squirming in his lap to grab the toys on the floor.
"I can stay because this is my house. But can he stay?" I pointed at Venice who was holding two toy cars in his hands.
"You can stay here, right...Venice, Venice?" Pete asked Venice, who turned to smile at Pete brightly, and then laughed as he held up his hand to try share the toy with him. "Pete will not be here, can Venice stay with Vegas?" Pete asked the child with eyes full of hope. Venice seemed to understand what Pete said. He smiled before turning to look at me and with gloomy eyes and....

"AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!" He cried through the house.
"Well, that's his answer." I said, shaking my head. Come on, what was Pete thinking? That Venice would be able to stay with me? He can't even come near me without opening his mouth to cry. Forget it.
"Ok, be quiet...ohhh." Pete got up from the bed and walked straight to Venice to hold him and console him. That kid knows the job. As soon as Pete held him, he stopped crying and hiccupped, trying to get pity scores. Demanding my wife's attention until the very end. "So can Venice stay with Tankhun instead of Vegas? Would you like that?" When he heard that name, Venice acted like the whole word had collapsed again, with a face that couldn't believe his mother would ask him that.
"UUuuugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" He cried out again.
"Even louder," I said jokingly.
"Oh, don't cry....be quiet...Oh, what's wrong?" Pete still thought he could go without Venice. And he probably wouldn't let me follow him.
"What secrets do you have hidden in Ban Bueng? You don't want me or the child to follow you to your hometown, what's going on? Don't tell me you have another child and wife on your island?" I said what was on my mind. Since I started living together with Pete, I felt that I fell in love with him more and more every day, loved him more than before, loved him until I couldn't imagine how I would live without him in this life. I want everything important. Call him for everything. I think a lot like this.
(Note: Ban Bueng is the district where Pete's hometown Chumphon is located)
"No! Yes!!! Let's all go. Let's all go to my house, shall we? Let's all go out." Pete suddenly picked up his stuff and walked into the bathroom while carrying Venice with such anger that it left me feeling confused.
"What's his problem?" I looked after him and shook my head. Okay, what's Pete up to?
[ The next day ]

We drove by car to Chomphon, Pete had booked a hotel for one night there and from there we took a boat to the island. Since yesterday, Pete rarely talked to me. Not because he was angry, but because he was thinking in his head, I don't know. Sometimes, he talked to himself. As soon as I walked over to him to listen closely, he walked away.
We were on a private boat and Pete was walking around in circles while holding Venice in his arms. I didn't know if Venice was dizzy because of seasickness or because Pete kept walking around back and forth.
"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly and looked at Venice, who seemed lethargic and close to passing out.
"Not okay!" Pete replied hurriedly.
"Come sit down! Venice looks so dizzy, he's gonna pass out. Is he just sleepy or is he seasick?" I moved Pete next to me, who held Venice in his arms while lying on his side and he occasionally looked at me.
"Sigh." Pete let out a deep sigh.
"If you have something to say, just say it." I was completely uncomfortable with this situation. I already knew that what stressed Pete out and bothered him mentally the past few days must be the same reason he didn't want me to come home with him.
"Vegas, do you love me?" Pete suddenly blurted out, which surprised me quite a bit.
"I do."
"Do you love me a lot?" The question sounded more heart-breaking than the waves of the sea pouring non-stop.
"Very, very much." I emphasized the words.
"What can stop you from loving me?"
"Nothing," I said as I thought. Even though I still didn't understand anything.
"Okay...can you promise me that no matter what happens on the island, you'll still love me a lot?"
"Pete, it's better to say it." Pete then said to Venice like he was trying to convince him of something. His face turned outside the boat, looking at the waves and the wind, as if he was trying to gather his courage.
"Come on! What will happen, will happen Pete!" He talked to himself again and sighed every ten minutes. Pete's actions made me think, he affects how I feel about everything. Even now, he wouldn't say any more, and I also didn't ask for answers. But I looked at every gesture, every action he made with concern.
"What's that?" I was staring at the sea and the sky, empty and blank, when my eyes suddenly fell upon a large rock that had a large white slogan with a handwritten message in beautiful letters saying "Welcome, Pete Phongsakorn." I read it out loud, then quickly turned to look at Pete, who turned pale and unable to calm down again.
"So what!"
"We're almost there," the driver of the boat shouted. The closer we got, the more Pete looked like he wanted to die. He wiped his sweat profusely, even though the sea breeze that hit his face was cool and made the chaos in my heart calm down.
"Heey!!!!! Pete!!" The closer to the shore, the louder and louder the drums, music, and cheering crowd sounded. I leaned over the railing of the ship to take a closer look.
"I told them not to make it too grand!"
"Welcome back to the Island, handsome Nong Pete, to the embrace of Grandma Jie and Grandpa Ta." I read a large message on the shore, which dozens of people were holding and waving. The length was about ten meters, and the letters were very prominent.
Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum. The drumbeats sounded relentlessly. The closer the boat got to the shore, the louder the voices of the villagers became. I was beginning to understand the complete story. I took our bags, smiled and turned to stroke Pete's head, who didn't dare to face me.
"Here we go....let's go down." I grabbed Pete's hand so he could stand up. The loud rumbling of the drums and crowd was so intense that Venice also began to slowly wake up. "I told you, you didn't have to come." Pete yelled due to the noise, looking like he was about to cry.
"I don't see anything," I said, patting his shoulders to console him.
"Quickly come down, little Pete! Sigh! Grandma missed you with her whole heart! Whose child are you carrying?" An elderly woman dressed in a beautiful dress waded through the water, approaching Pete with joy. "Oh my!! Grandma's beloved grandson has arrived! I thought he was already dead or forgot his house number! It's so nice to see him come again!"
(Note: The islanders speak the Southern language/dialect with Pete. Each sentence that was spoken in dialect was written twice in the novel, once in Southern language and once in standard Thai. But I translated all sentences that are spoken in the Southern language only once and wrote them in italics.)

Venice looked at everything in panic, but he didn't cry from shock at all.
"Grandma! Didn't I tell you not to make it too grand. What are these signs?" Pete spoke back in the Southern language, looking at the gathered crowd in despair.
"It's a year since you came back to the Island, so I had to give a big welcome ceremony worthy of Grandma's handsome grandson!"
I couldn't understand everything, but I understood this woman was Pete's grandmother. I'm surprised! I thought his grandmother would be like any regular old woman, but she looked agile, strong, and sassy with her hair up and face full of make-up. She also wore a golden necklace on her neck, the kind that if the sun shines on it, the reflection would hurt one's eyes.
"Hello," I tried to smile broadly to greet grandmother Jui. I knew her name because it was written on one of the signs.
"Who did you bring along? Come ashore first! Let's help each other carry all the things, quickly!" Grandma Jui waved her hand and called some people from the crowd to come help us carry our stuff.
"What!? What are you doing?" As soon as we reached the shore, Pete's uncles and aunts came toward us and hung an orchid garland around Pete's neck. Some people put an orchid garland around my neck as well [1].
I could only smile dryly, Pete standing in front of me.
"You didn't have to do any of this."
"Hey, why are you holding someone's child? Hey, he's so cute!! Don't tell me you made a woman pregnant?" Grandma pulled Venice into her arms. He didn't open his mouth to cry but remained stiff, mouth turned slightly downwards as he kept staring at Pete woefully.
"Uhh, the child, the child!" Pete began to panic, "He's my friend's son."
Pete gave me a remorseful look.
"Oh! And who is this? How handsome! Pete, is he your friend?" Grandma brought her face closer, examining my body from head to toe. Seriously, I started to understand why Venice was so tense.
"Uhm!! Hey!! What's all of this, Grandma?" Pete tried to change the subject.
I didn't feel upset by his words. If Pete had told her that Venice was his son, it would shock the whole island for sure.
"All of this was arranged in a hurry, you only told me a few days ago you're coming home so I didn't have a lot of time to prepare."
I looked around the splendor of the island. To be honest, I expected that this would be a quiet place, and wanted to take the opportunity of visiting the island with Pete to rest. But it's nothing like that. The beach is full of tents, there is a small stage with musical instruments, decorated with paper flowers and rainbow colored paper ornaments, dangling majestically. I also saw multicolored light bulbs tied to poles and trees. This place was probably even more crowded at night.
"Are you a celebrity on this island?" I whispered softly to Pete. I actually wanted to make fun of him, but when I saw his face he looked like he was about to cry, so I pitied him.
"I'm sorry, Vegas." Pete made a guilty face.
"I thought you were a big politician visiting the island."
"Let's go and bring the stuff to the house, then sit down and eat dinner together." Grandma Jie carried Venice with her and ordered the villagers around with her finger. Venice looked at Pete, with the eyes of someone crying out for help, but who cannot speak.
"Is this child your son? Did you get married?"
"I said the child is my friend's son. Let's go already. Grandpa is probably collecting coconuts, let's just go home quickly to see him!!" Pete walked unsteadily and didn't dare to look at me. As for me, I must admit I wasn't doing well, but I didn't hate it. All of this was new to me, I never experienced something like this before.
We didn't have to walk very long from the shore to reach Pete's house. Pete's house was very big, like the house of a celebrity. His house was more grandiose than any other house in the neighborhood. I almost forgot he used to be the chief bodyguard of the eldest son of the main family. His salary should have been enough to send money home and take care of his grandparents so they could live a happy and comfortable life. Pete's house is a white building with a blue roof, one-story high but was grand in width. There was an area around the fence where various flowers were planted. A long table was placed outside with fish, shrimps and various other seafood. As for the other houses, some were wooden, some were cement, but they didn't take up space or were lavishly decorated like Pete's house
"Come here! Your grandson has finally arrived! Where did you go?! Did you go climb a coconut tree? You can get coconuts from the market! You're old enough to end up in a coffin!"
Grandma Jie's voice was loud, and she complained non-stop to Pete about grandpa, about the bags, about everything. I usually don't show much sympathy to Venice, but today I pitied him. I'm sorry, When we're at home there is no shouting, we live together in peace, so this whole situation is quite shocking.
"Come, come, come," Pete couldn't bear the sight of Venice suffering any longer, so he took Venice from grandma to hold him like before. Venice looked relieved and immediately jumped into Pete's arms.
"Very cute. So is your friend here the child's father?"
"Um," Pete turned to look at me and nodded.
"And the child's mother didn't come?"
Pete made a confused face, before his eyes fell on the back of the house. Grandpa walked over with two coconuts and straws in both hands.
"Hello grandpa, I brought a lot of things." Pete smiled, and looked at Venice with affection. And before Grandpa could open his mouth to say something, Grandma Jie started speaking again.
"Hey, Pete brought his friend and his friend's son with him, and he is very handsome," Grandma Jie pointed at me and I hurriedly raised my hand to greet grandpa.
"Your friend's son is very cute." Pete's eyes smiled as grandpa patted Venice's shoulder twice. Grandpa then went to grab a machete and sat down to open the coconut, smiling. Pete's eyes looked calm and I could understand why, because grandma Jie who had been rambling all this time seemed to have nothing left to say anymore.
"It's late in the evening, we will have a good time and have dinner later. Go take a shower and get ready." Grandma pushed me and Pete into a bedroom and put the bags on the chair in the room. Finally, it was over.
"The green curry is ready!!! Will you come take a look at it?" Someone's voice shouted from outside.
"Wait a minute, I'll go and see myself!!!" Grandma Jui walked out of the room, and as soon as we heard the closing sound of the door, Pete and I sighed together. I sat down at the foot of the bed, along with Pete, who put Venice beside him.
(Note: I didn't really understand who was yelling, or what they were yelling about, but it was something about green curry that made Grandma leave the room)
Nobody talked and the two of us and Venice sat motionless. Grandma Jui did something good, Venice was very tired and calm. Usually, he'd be crawling all over the bed or the floor, but now there was not any movement left in him.
"I'm sorry, are you OK?" Pete lowered the air conditioner temperature and I hoped the cold air would ease the confusion in my heart.
"I'm okay," I said in a flat tone, looking straight ahead to the walls until I couldn't focus.
"Patient!! Be patient, Venice!! This is just the beginning! After this, it's the real thing!!" Pete walked over to me to sit on my lap and embraced me with his arms around my neck. I tucked my head into his chest firmly. "Only two days, only two days."
"Don't think too much." I wrapped my arms around Pete's waist and held him tightly. Venice was slumped on the bed and close to falling asleep.
Creaaak. The sound of the door startled Pete, he jumped off my lap, barely in time, and grandma Jui showed up with a smile and continued talking again.
"I forgot to ask! Will you sleep together in this room, or should grandma prepare the living room for your friend?"
"We can sleep together."
"Or will Pete sleep with me, and give this room to your friend and his son?"
"It's alright, you can leave now." Pete pushed grandma Jui out of the room, and this time he securely locked the door and we both let out another sigh of relief.
"Can't we go down to eat later in the evening?" I lay down on the bed from exhaustion.
"Sorry, but if we don't go, grandma will just come up to bother us until we go." The three of us lay side by side on the bed, physically and mentally tired.
We were able to rest our eyes for almost two hours. Pete woke up to prepare milk for Venice, bathe him and change his clothes, before going to the war zone. Loud noise was already blasting from outside, which started one hour ago. I took a long time to leave this room.
"This welcome party is even bigger than a highschool graduation party." I teased Pete as we walked along the shore in mourning.
"We have to hold on. Venice must stay strong."
"Venice seems terrified from what I can see."
"No, Venice, no!!! You have to fight, son!" Pete held Venice tightly, then kissed his left and right cheeks to send encouragement to him.
As our feet reached the island's dazzling lights, the chatter was so loud that it was incomprehensible. Nearly fifty people sat together on a round table that had been prepared earlier and bands and singers were singing in the Southern language with joy.
"Pete, hey!! Come pay respect to Grandma Jiw quickly! Are you still handsome as usual? We haven't seen each other in years!" Grandma Jie dragged Pete to Grandma Jiw and I followed along.
"Oh, whose child is this?"
"He's the son of Pete's friend, this guy." Grandma Jie pointed at me and I raised both of my hands to pay homage to all the relatives at the table.
"You should get one too, Pete. Do you have a wife yet? Grandma might die tomorrow. Hurry up and give your grandmother a grandchild."
"Oh, he hasn't found a wife yet." Grandma Jie turned to look at Pete, who looked like his soul had left his body.
"I can see Pete works hard. Do you remember Nong Nui? You used to play together when you were young."
(Note: I think her name is Ni or Nui, or maybe even Yui, I'm not sure, so I'm just going with Nui)
I squinted my eyes to look at a slim teenage girl dressed up beautifully, who gave a shy smile.
"I can't remember." Pete quickly shook his head.
"She grew up to be a beautiful woman. You know each other."
Pete glanced at me with concern. I don't know what kind of face I was making right now but I stared relentlessly at the girl named Nui until she turned around and looked at me in horror.
"I'm hungry, let's go eat first." Pete quickly cut the conversation and looked for an empty spot at the table. One hand held Venice, and the other hand pulled the hem of my shirt to follow him.
"You can sit at the front of the table, walk, walk, grandma has prepared it for you."
I followed and sat at the round table, where several other people were seated. The food was set up in a dazzling array, all of which were Southern food. I like Pete, but it looks like I can't eat any of this.
"Eat up, it's delicious, all of Pete's favorites. Yam soup, Kua Kling, Khao Yam, eat it, eat it." Grandma put all kinds of things on my plate, until I thought it was a Buddhist monk's alms bowl.
"You definitely can't eat it." Pete looked at the food and made a thoughtful face. He was right, but I still sat and placed the food on my plate out of respect.
"Oh my, why can't he eat it? Try it! When you come to Chumphon, you have to eat Southern food, otherwise, you're not allowed to go back! It's delicious. Grandma woke up at 2 AM and made the curry paste herself with the curry machine, my hands hurt."
"Let's try it then." I said and scooped a little bit of Khua Kling. I didn't want to make Pete feel too awkward, because his grandma had good intentions.
"No, no, no! You can't eat it, Vegas." Pete tried to hold my wrist to prevent me from putting the spoon in my mouth.
"Come on, Pete, I can eat it. I feel sorry for your grandmother," I whispered to Pete in a low voice. Pete made a troubled face and let go of my wrist, so I lifted up the spoon, bit into the food slowly and started to chew. The smell of curry paste penetrated my nose. I felt a spiciness at the tip of my tongue and it stung all over my mouth.
"Have some water..." Pete handed me a glass of water.
"You look like you're about to die! Bangkokians can't eat Southern curry paste without crying."
"Isn't this the same as what we have in Bangkok?" I turned to ask Pete.
"Well, curry in Bangkok isn't hand-made, and the taste is very mild so everyone of all ages can eat it."
"I didn't know that."
"You're forbidden from eating this. There's nothing you can eat here, take Venice from me and I'll go and fry an omelet for you." Pete spoke in a quiet voice, put Venice on my lap and immediately walked back.
"Don't cry, Pete will come back soon." Venice lifted his head before turning his head around, and pulled the corners of his mouth slightly downwards. It was the second time that I was able to sympathize with his feelings very well.
Suddenly, two interested people appeared to sit near me. Grandma Jie and Grandma Jiw dragged their chairs towards me and surrounded me on both sides. I knew my fate at that point and counted down in my head, 5 4 3 2 1. Start!
"What is your name?" They asked, not in Southern language, with their eyes widened and gazing at me from head to toe.
"V...Vegas." Damnit! I talked to so many clients and customers, but I never felt so nervous before. Why am I so tense? I feel like I'm about to be interviewed for the front page of a newspaper, which will be read by people all over the country. I didn't know what to do, so I just held Venice and hugged him tightly.
"Ve..Ve..Va..what?" Grandma Jiw made a confused face.
"Vegas, the name of the city, ha ha." I said with a dry face. No one has ever made me feel so intimidated before. I clenched my fingers tightly and sweat started to seep through my body.
"And what's the little one's name?"
I looked down at Venice on my lap who had his head down and sat still. I don't think I can help you at all.
"Venice."
"What, oh, such a strange name and difficult to pronounce." Grandma Jui said, waving her hand in front of her face.
"What kind of work do you do?"
I took a deep breath and tried to be as conscious as possible.
"Personal business."
"What kind of personal business? What's that? Grandma is confused." Grandma Jie asked while Grandma Jiw was listening with a concentrated and serious face.
"Uhm, just family business, logistics, ah...transportation, import, export, all kinds of goods?" I didn't know how to form my words and tried to explain it in the easiest way possible. I really didn't expect to be stared at closely and asked such personal questions with such determination.
"What kind of products, son?"
I can't tell the truth, it would shock the whole island.
"Well, a lot of things, like iron, metals, land."
"Who do you sell it to?"

I blinked to the question that made my migraine go to a higher level.
"It depends on who's ordering."
"Ugh, doing business sounds difficult. And who are your parents?" Grandma Jui continued to search for questions to ask me.
"My father's name is Kan, my mother's name is In." I don't understand why they want to know this. Oh!!!!
"Have you been friends with Pete for a long time? Isn't Pete a bodyguard? So how did you two get to know each other?"
"Oh." I paused for a moment, how should I answer? I was more confused than during an exam.
"Grandma Jui and Grandma Jiw, get up quickly!" Pete arrived holding a place of omelet rice and placed it in front of me as he pulled the grandma's off the chair.
"I was asking your good looking friend how he became your friend." Grandma Jie turned around and looked at Pete.
"That's enough. You don't have to ask anymore." Even though Pete said this, it didn't stop Grandma Jie and Grandma Jiw.
"How do you know each other?"
"Uh..." I looked at Pete for help. Venice saw Pete and immediately opened his arms to be held by him.
"We just met and became friends, satisfied? Can you please go sit with Grandpa?" Pete turned to look at his grandpa who sat still and didn't talk with anyone, as if all the words in grandpa Ta's mouth were swallowed by grandma Jie.
"You say that, but I want to hear the conclusion."
Grandma was so excited that I didn't know how to behave. Pete took a deep breath before speaking.
"He's Khun Kan's son, Khun Korn Teerapanyakun's brother. I met him at my job as a bodyguard. He's the boss' nephew. Are you satisfied?" Pete explained and Grandma Jui and Grandma Jiw looked shocked.
"Hello, so why didn't you tell me you're Khun Korn's nephew? Would you like anything else? Oh my god, Jiw, let's go find some snacks and sweets!" Then, Grandma Jui and Grandma Jiw immediately ran around so I hurriedly raised my hand to stop them.
"It's alright, it's alright, please sit down."
"I'm sorry, Pete didn't say Khun Korn's nephew was coming with him or else I would have made the event today bigger."
"Bigger than this?" I said in disbelief. I remembered Pete once told me that Khun Korn used to help the people here from capitalists, so the islanders respected him very much.
"Go now, and sit somewhere else, I'll give this to Vegas so he can eat."
"How can you speak to Khun Korn's nephew like that? You have no manners, I swear. I apologize on behalf of Pete, please forgive me. Grandma and grandpa raised him since birth because his parents weren't there for him. He's a smart kid and he always sends back money too, so people here are always jealous. Grandma Jui raised her grandchild well." Grandma Jui smiled with a shy expression and bowed, but I didn't want her to do that.
"Pete is lucky, his boss is so good to him and he managed to become friends with someone like you. Actually, his horoscope predicted he would be lucky."
Pete, who couldn't stop his grandma from talking, shook his head and took Venice who was starting to reach for the colored paper used to decorate the table.
"What did it say?" I asked as if it was something that I was interested in.
"Oh, it happened a long time ago, when Pete moved to Bangkok to work. Grandma was so worried about him...so I went to a fortune teller. He said Pete would be fine, he could survive but he would go through great difficulties at first, but after a while, he would gain great power and prestige."
Who is this fortune teller? He's so accurate! Because Pete is the dominant one in the house. Me, Macau, Venice, the bodyguards, we're all at his feet.
(Note: Good job Pete, good job hahaha XD)
"Look, Pete takes good care of grandma and grandpa so we can live comfortably. But grandma is worried about one thing. About Pete finding a wife and getting kids. Look at how Pete is holding the child, there is fatherhood inside of him. Grandma really wants to hold and carry her grandson."
I only smiled dryly. I wanted to tell her that she already carried her grandson, even though he's not really our child, we raise him like we're his parents.
"When Pete was still in school, all the girls loved him. On Valentine's Day, he brought so many flowers and chocolates back to the house, they were all over the place! Grandpa Ta picked him up from school once and he was shocked. All the girls put stickers on Pete's head, ears, eyes, until he couldn't see in front of him. He was so charming, but Grandma was surprised that he never brought a girl home to visit his grandparents."
"Oh, really?"
"Don't forget to help him find a wife. And what about young master Tankhun? He didn't come with you? Why?"
"He's busy." I said, even though I didn't know whether it's true or not.
"It's always fun talking to Tankhun. When he came to visit grandma we talked happily for hours until he fell asleep and snored loudly. Really cute."
Oh.... Grandma talked with Tankhun until he fell asleep? I really respect Grandma Jie. Grandma Jie is the best, above everyone else.
"Come on, grandma will take you to dance. Let's dance with all the brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews."
"I'll eat first, I'll follow you later." I pointed at the plate with rice in front of me. Then, Grandma Jie and Grandma Jiw walked to the dance floor, which had a giant mortar placed in the middle, and danced in a circle around it with other people. [2]
"Sigh...are you still okay?" Pete sat down next to me and made a face as if he's about to die again.
"Hmm, I'm okay...what's that called?" I said and scooped the omelet rice into my mouth. Pete's eyes turned to look at what I was asking about.
"It's our traditional Southern folk dance named Ramwong. Why? Do you want to dance?" Pete's expression improved when he saw me beginning to relax.
"No!!!! Why is there a mortar in the middle?"
"That's none of your business!" Pete let out a wide smile and sighed in relief.
"Woah! I was asking seriously." I was a bit uncomfortable with such a big crowd, but I tried to learn the essence that made Pete grow up to be like he is today.
"I don't know. Maybe they just put it there for people to ask about it. Well, if you don't want to dance or be forced to, just pretend you have a headache and go home." Even though it's something lighthearted, it is still worrying. I'm not surprised that Pete can get along with Tankhun. Maybe because of the environment he grew up in.
Around three o'clock, some villagers began to return to their homes gradually. I thought that during this time of the night the island would be the most peaceful, so I walked along the dimly lit beach, enjoying the sea breeze with a peace of mind.

I didn't feel uncomfortable, I just wasn't used to having so many relatives gathered together and having fun. It seemed strange to me and more unexpected that I had imagined.
I waited for Pete while he was showering and putting Venice to bed, and sat down on the sand. I released all of my emotions and relaxed. I felt comfortable, content and happy, all at the same time. I felt this way when I was with Pete. And I could understand how he grew up to be such a good person with positive energy, just by being here on this island I also felt good.
"Vegas..." A voice came from behind me, so I turned around and smiled. I invited him with one arm to sit next me.
"Venice is asleep?"
"Yes. He must be tired from the long journey." Pete sank down to sit next to me and put his arms around my neck.
"What's wrong?" I asked as I stared at his face because he still looked unsettled.
"I'm sorry," he said slowly.
"Sorry about?"
"Sigh...I know Vegas, that you don't like crowded places or loud noises, or other people swarming around you and messing with you. I know you must feel uncomfortable and it must be difficult for you...it's just how my relatives are. I tried to tell you not to come for this reason but in the end...you came. And the house is really chaotic as well," said Pete with a guilty face so I used my hand to gently push his head on my shoulder.
Even though I'm afraid people will see us like this, I saw earlier how everyone, especially Grandma Jie, danced until they're tired and panting, so I didn't think they would have the energy to walk all the way over here.
"You think too much...I haven't said anything yet."
"I've been stressed for days. I tried to remind Grandma that we don't need such a grand party, that she doesn't need to prepare so much food, but did she even listen?"
"Huh, so you've been acting strange for days because of this? What are you exactly afraid of Pete? You haven't told me." I looked down at him and he removed his head off my shoulder and made a serious face.
"I'm very afraid."
"Of what?"
"I'm afraid you will feel uncomfortable being here, I'm afraid that being here is difficult for you and you can't eat anything here, I'm afraid that you won't like Grandma, and I'm afraid that you won't love me anymore."
I smiled at my lover's thoughts, and moved my hand to caress his face and brought my face closer.
"Listen, Pete. There is no way I can stop loving you. Even if it's more chaotic at your house, even if your house is in the forest and I have to climb up with difficulty, even if I can't eat anything at your house, even if your grandfather and grandmother hates me. No matter which relative of you does something crazy, there is no way to stop loving you. You don't have to worry. I will adapt to anything. I will do whatever it takes to be with you. Even if there was no omelet today and I had to eat something spicy, I could do it. As long as I have you." I bent down and kissed my lover's cheek gently.
"Really....I was worried about everything. Life has never been as difficult as it was today. It must be hard to stay here with me."
"I didn't have any trouble, Pete. Besides, we're only here for three days and then we'll go back. It's not a problem at all. Seriously, grandma and grandpa are so cute, and your relatives were just curious about me, they asked all of those things out of curiosity. And the event that was organized, although it was a bit grand, it was sweet. I admit, I'm not used to it. It may look like I'm tense but that's because I can't keep up with everything, but I don't mind anything about you."
"Thank you, Vegas."
"Why do you thank me? I'm the one who should thank you. I'm so happy I came here, I learned more about you and got to know where you grew up. And I believe you will raise Venice very well."
"Ooh, I love you, Vegas. Whatever affects you will also affect me." Pete put both his arms around my neck and pulled my face closer to kiss my lips lightly.
I moved my hand to hug him tightly. The two of us kissed, snuggled together without anyone thinking of backing away. We both let the sky, the water, the wind and the sound of the waves be the witness of our unfailing love. This time, no matter how difficult it gets, neither one of us will go their separate ways...
"What are you guys doing!!!!!!!!!!!!" It seems that our love was not only witnessed by nature, but also by Grandma Jie. How unlucky!
...
..
.
Pete and I sat down on our knees in front of Grandma Jui and Grandpa Ta on the sofa in the middle of the house. Earlier, Pete pushed me away with wide eyes, looking shocked and flabbergasted, as if he wanted to run toward the sea, dive in and escape from here. But for me, I felt that sooner or later, Pete's grandmother would have found out about us anyway.
"What's going on? Tell Grandma the whole story." Grandpa Ta brought a fan to Grandma Jie's face and waved it, while she held an inhaler in both hands.
"Grandma...." Pete bit his lip tightly. I could see that he didn't know where to start.
"Have you two gone crazy? What did you do just now..? Tell me."
"It's me..."
"I love Pete." I decided to say it out loud, without making excuses. Accepting the truth was probably the best solution.
When Grandma heard me say that, she almost snapped her neck. Pete turned to look at me and quickly shook his head, like he was trying to tell me he didn't want me to tell her...
"I love Pete so much...we've been living together for a while now."
"So...that means Vegas is...." Grandma Jui spoke without the Southern dialect and pointed at me and Pete with sorrow.
"Pete is my lover. And I'm Pete's lover." I spoke with confidence, with a face that looked up at Pete's grandparents with sincerity.
"What about your job as a bodyguard?" Grandma asked Pete. He sniffed, took a deep breath and spoke out as well...
"I have resigned from the main family home, Grandma."
"So you became his wife...then what are you going to do next?"
"Help Vegas with running the family business....and raise... a child." Pete said in a low voice.
"Child? Oh, that little guy! Where did he even come from, Pete? Both of you are men...how is this possible...ohhh I might faint again." Grandma Jie inhaled heavily through her nose.
"Grandma, I'm sorry...."
"Have you really fallen in love with each other? Or are you being forced!!!" Grandma Jie spoke again, but this time I couldn't understand the question entirely. But when I heard Pete's answer, I let out a smile.
"I love Vegas! I love him so much!!!" Pete replied firmly like me. He didn't dare to meet his grandmother's eyes at first, but he lifted his face and looked at her with seriousness. Grandma and grandpa were silent, they both looked at me and Pete alternately before sighing.
"You really love him, don't you?"
"Yes!" Pete replied.
"Grandma knows that two men can love each other. The world is speeding up faster and faster every day, I can't keep up Pete, sigh! But anyway, I'm sorry I had to ask, but since Pete has made his choice ...." Grandma extended her hand and touched Pete's head affectionately, "Whoever you love, Grandma loves him too."
"Grandma..." Pete called Grandma with a trembling voice, then walked straight to her to hug her waist tightly.
"Come on Little Pete, you've done so much for us. Whatever it is, if it is happiness, then go for it."
"Oh, it's all good, son. Grandma and grandpa don't mind anything," Grandpa Ta said in a kind tone and rubbed Pete's shoulder. I gathered all the courage I had to bow at Grandpa and Grandma's feet with determination, but also remorse for the bad things I had done to Pete.
"I would like to apologize for the things that I have done wrong to Pete. From now on, I'll take good care of him." I put my hands on my chest, and Grandma and Grandpa smiled and nodded at me.
"Hey Pete...you can stop crying now. You've got a husband and a child. What are you doing?" But Pete still kept his head down and cried as he buried his face in his grandmother's chest.
"But that child.....where did he come out of? Grandma is still a little confused. Answer me clearly."
"It's a long story. I'll tell you one day, but for now, Venice is grandma's grandchild."
"Oh, he's such a cute grandson, I'm so excited. Bring him over often, not just once a year!"
"Yes." Pete and I responded in unison.
"And next time, give him a name that's simple and easier to pronounce, cause I can't pronounce it right."

All the three days I've been here, Grandma and Grandpa were very welcoming. They took care of me like I'm their grandchild, and most importantly, they seemed very fond of Venice and believed in Pete and respected his choice without a doubt. Pete grew up well with the love of this grandfather and grandmother, this place was filled with comfort. Even though it was chaotic, it was so warm and I learned the true meaning of the word 'family' for the first time. By any means, I will bring Pete and Venice back here often, to be filled with love, and I will make sure both of them will live a happy life forever....
