JWF Thunder Ep.38 Pt.1
Pyro rockets as the camera pans down to Chad Darby, smiling while adjusting his headset.
Darby: Welcome back everyone! To the greatest show I'm the Galaxy; JWF Thunder! Except I'm not sure we can call ourselves that anymore. Because just 5 days ago, "Jack's Wrestling Federation" lost its first inter-promotional contest, to "Supreme Championship Wrestling." And sadly, that was just one of the tragedies that happened in Albany. Another one, which you'll be hearing about in only a few moments, is when John Super suffered a presumed knee injury during his match against SCW United States Champion, Jefferson Hart on Night One. Thankfully, he wad able to fight through the pain and get the victory, but we still do not know the severity of the injury.
During JWF X SCW; Forbidden Worlds Night One:
[The match reached a fever pitch, both men exhausted, rolled out of the ring. Super's frustration mounted as he realized that Hart was still in the fight. He rushed at Hart, aiming to finish him off once and for all. But in a surprising twist, Hart ducked a vicious jumping knee from Super, causing the champion to collide hard with the steel steps at ringside.
The impact echoed throughout the arena as Super crumpled to the floor, clutching his injured knee. The referee rushed over, but Super waved him off, gritting his teeth and insisting he could continue while pulling himself into the ring.]
[Hart, instinctively knowing he had to counter, threw a desperate haymaker, but Super ducked, wrapping Hart up once again and sending him crashing to the mat with another spinebuster.
But Hart wasn't done yet. As he hit the canvas, he quickly rolled through, locking his legs around Super's body in a sudden and slick transition into a triangle choke! The crowd gasped as Hart pulled tight, squeezing with all his might, determined to force the larger champion to tap out.
Super's face contorted with effort as he fought against the pressure. He could feel the weight of the SCW United States Champion bearing down on him, but his spirit refused to break. He reached for the ropes, but they were too far away. Instead, he gritted his teeth, channeling every ounce of strength left in his body.
In a desperate maneuver, Super began to lift Hart off the mat while still trapped in the hold. The crowd roared with disbelief as the JWF champion used his immense power to rise to his feet, lifting Hart high into the air despite the choke.
With an explosive surge, Super adjusted his grip and drove Hart down into the canvas with a third and final Super-Bomb! The impact shook the ring, and Hart's hold instantly broke as he fell limp onto the mat.
Super, gasping for breath and clutching his injured knee, rolled over and draped himself over Hart, desperate to secure the win.
1... 2... 3!
DING DING DING!
The arena erupted in a cacophony of cheers as the referee called for the bell, declaring John Super the victor once again.
Samantha Irvin: Here is your winner, tye JWF HBO Champion; "The Black Superman" JOHN SUPER!]
The arena lights dimmed as the opening notes of John Super's entrance theme blared through the speakers. The crowd buzzed with anticipation, knowing something was different. John Super, the JWF HBO Champion, slowly emerged from backstage, his presence still commanding despite the obvious signs of injury. His championship gleamed around his waist, but what captured the audience's attention was the knee brace strapped tightly around his leg and the crutch tucked under his arm.
The camera zoomed in on his face, a mix of determination and frustration etched into his features. His steps were slow and deliberate as he made his way down the ramp, the crutch assisting his injured knee. The fans' cheers never wavered, showing their support for their champion, but there was an undercurrent of concern.
Chad Darby: Here he is, folks - our HBO Champion, John Super, but not under the best circumstances. He fought through the pain in his match against Jefferson Hart, but from what we've seen, the injury to his knee looks severe. And from what I've been told, we're about to hear some news none of us wanted to hear.
Super finally made it to the ring, taking his time climbing up the steps and through the ropes. Once inside, he adjusted the championship around his waist, looking out at the crowd with a heavy sigh. He raised his crutch, signaling for the music to cut. The audience quieted down, waiting for him to speak.
Super: Fresno...
The fans erupted into cheers, and he nodded in appreciation, though there was a somberness behind his usual bravado.
Super: Five days ago, I went to war with Jefferson Hart. And I did what I always do - I gave it everything I had. I walked in that ring, fought through hell, and walked out with a point for JWF.
The crowd cheered again, a "Superman!" chant breaking out. He smiled, though it was a brief, pained one.
Super: But... not without a price.
He paused, adjusting the crutch under his arm as the reality of the situation seemed to weigh on him.
Super: You all saw it - the knee, the steel steps. When I hit those steps, I knew something wasn't right. But I'm John Super. I don't quit, I don't stop. I fought through the pain, and I beat Hart. But after the match... the doctors told me the news I didn't want to hear. I've torn my medial meniscus.
A collective gasp rippled through the audience. Super let it sink in, his expression unreadable as he stared down at the mat.
Super: And because of that... I have to make a decision that no champion ever wants to make. I can't defend this title with this injury.
The crowd grew silent, fully grasping what was about to happen.
Super: So, tonight... I have to forfeit the JWF HBO Championship.
A wave of boos and groans filled the arena, fans expressing their disappointment and frustration. Super raised his hand, asking for calm, though his own frustration was evident.
Super: Trust me, I don't like it either. This isn't how I wanted my reign to end. But you all deserve a champion who can fight, a champion who can defend this title night in and night out, and right now, I'm not that guy.
He unclipped the HBO Championship from around his waist, looking down at it for a moment before holding it up for the crowd to see.
Super: This... this belongs to you. To every single one of you who believed in me, who chanted my name, who had my back. I'll be back. Stronger. Better. But for now, it's time for someone else to carry this.
With a heavy heart, Super placed the championship in the center of the ring. The crowd's applause was deafening as they showed their respect for the champion who fought so hard to keep the title. Super nodded, his jaw set in determination, as he slowly made his way out of the ring, limping but proud, knowing this was just the end of one chapter.
As he reached the top of the ramp, Super turned back one last time, saluting the fans before disappearing behind the curtain, leaving behind the championship - and the promise that one day, he would return.
Darby: You heard it here, folks. John Super is out of action, and for the first time in a long time, the HBO Championship is vacant.
