A week later

Aleysa's pov

Today is my mother's birthday and she decided to get everyone together for dinner at a fancy restaurant.

"Why did you invite my dad?", I scoff sitting next to her.

"Aleysa he's still your father you know and I would like the whole family to get together on my day.. can you be polite for me?", my mom smiles beaming at me.

I still haven't talked to my father for three months now and I am still not planning to whatsoever.

At work I avoid him at all times. I make sure I'm busy with work. If I need certain files I send Jacky or my assistant Ruth. There's been times he has tried to talk to me, but I ignore him like he's not even there until he leaves.

Suddenly, a tall tan guy with chestnut combed hair enters the restaurant greeting my mom.

My mom instantly smiles her eyes twinkling as she beams at this mysterious guy who just kissed her cheek.

"Aleysa honey this is my boyfriend William", my mom nervously says.

"Boyfriend?", I splutter a baffled expression on my face.

"Nice to finally meet you Aleysa your mom always talks about you", William smiles extending his hand to shake mine.

"Your the chief in her department aren't you?", I waggle my brows at them both.

"Yes ma'am", he chuckles.

"How long have you two been dating behind my back huh?", I smirk.

"We were getting to know each other first and barely became official a month ago", my mom chirps completely blushing like crazy.

"Oh really?", my father's deep voice butts in from behind us causing us to snap our heads back seeing him and Alessandra.

"Yes Benjamin... William hun this is Aleysa's father and his fiancé Alessandra", my mom responds smiling.

Awkward

My dad stays quiet throwing a dirty look at William.

"Congratulations to you two love birds! It's about time you get snatched Angela", Alessandra smiles greeting William and my mom.

However my father doesn't say a word and just is fuming in anger. My dad is light tan, so trust me when I say I can tell he's fuming in anger since his face is so red like a tomato right now.

Is my father possibly jealous?

"Welcome to the family William", I splutter grinning.

My father quickly throws me a stern glare which I ignore.

My mom deserves to be happy after everything she's been through thanks to my stupid father who broke us up as a family.

We are halfway into our dinner when my phone vibrates in my pants. I take my iPhone out from my pocket seeing a unknown text message.

I miss you

I furrow my brows reading the text message over and over again until it hits me it has to be Jason.

A week ago he called me and now I'm sure it's him again texting me. It has to be him.

Text message sent

Don't text me

Jason made his choice a week ago when he hanged up on me dismissing everything I spluttered to him.

I will not let him play with my heart anymore. All of the pain, hurt, heartbreak, and tears I've been feeling these past three months is indescribable.

Unknown text message received

I'm so sorry babe I really am

I roll my eyes deleting the text. I join the family dinner brushing Jason off of my mind.

My phone starts to ring on the table and I grab it seeing the screen flash.

Incoming call: Unknown caller

I quickly forward the call knowing it's Jason since I haven't replied to him.

After a few seconds pass of me forwarding his call. My phone starts to ring again showing the same caller id as a few seconds ago.

"Who is it hun?", my mother asks smiling at me.

"Jacky", I lie standing up from the chair heading outside of the restaurant to take the call.

"Stop calling Jason I've moved on!", I mutter through the phone pressing the end button heading back into the restaurant.

Jason's pov

"Stop calling Jason I've moved on!"

My heart falls down to my stomach hearing Aleysa say those dry words to me on the phone. However what hurt the most was her hanging up right after not caring what I had to say.

A week ago she begged for me to speak and now she didn't even care to hear my voice. This scared me so much.

What if Aleysa did mean what she said and moved on?

There's no way she could of moved on so fast in just a week right? I mean I did hurt her more by calling and being a damn coward hanging up on her all because touch guy McCann couldn't speak.

My heart aches fearing the worst. What if I'm too late? What if I lost her for good now?

I was planning on heading to New York tomorrow night to get Aleysa, but after what just happened I'm not lagging it anymore.

"Ace, I'm leaving right now!", I shout getting my stuff ready for the long trip.

"What?! I thought we were leaving tomorrow?", Ace groans hanged over from the previous night.

"Change of plans.. you don't have to come you can stay"

"No I'm coming", he firmly responds.

"Text Rex and Isaac to expect us to arrive soon", I order as I throw everything in the trunk.

"Rex? Isaac? Wait a minute! We're going back to New York?!", Ace splutters.

I ignore him to busy to respond as I fix everything.

"Are you going back to New York because of her?", Ace scoffs.

"Shut up and do as I say if your tagging along", I scold annoyed by his questions.

Ace doesn't say a word and just does what I originally told him to do.
