Piece of Home

Meanwhile, Superman was flying out of Gotham, headed towards Metropolis. As he entered the city, Superman, with his super-hearing, suddenly heard Lois cry out, "HELP!!!"  Superman then flew towards the home that he and Lois lived in together. Once he flew in as fast as he could, Superman saw Lois being held at gunpoint by his arch-enemy, Lex Luthor! He was still in his prisoner uniform from Arkham Asylum, smiling evilly. "Luthor..." Superman said with a glare, gritting his teeth.

"Took you long enough, Clark..." Lex taunted. "Let her go right now..." Superman threatened. "Or what? You going to do to me what you did to Zod?" Lex taunted, a crazed look on his face. "Why are you doing this?" Clark asked. "Simple, I'm working for a new boss," beamed Luthor, "he's not happy about the idea of you stopping him from taking over the world. So to see to it he succeeds in his plan, I take care of you. And in return, Steppenwolf lets me live in the new apocalyptic world in his image. Now I get to kill God. Or at least contribute in his death."

"You would betray humanity for your own self-centered desires?" Clark asked angrily, "not only are you psychotic Lex, you're no better than Zod." Lex laughed incredulously, "says the guy who snapped his neck!" Clark's eyes turned red with heat ready to rise. "There are six ways I could stop you," said Clark. "Oh let me guess, all of them involve using deadly force?" Lex taunted. Clark smirked and said, "not all of them." He then used his super-speed to get Lois away from being held at gunpoint by Lex. He then lifted Lex from his collar.

"Stand down," he growled, "if I wanted it, you'd be dead already. Nobody hurts my girlfriend and gets away with it!" Lex chuckled and said, "that, we can agree on. The part where if I wanted it, you'd be dead already, that is." He then pulled the trigger at Clark. Clark then felt a sudden pain as he gripped his chest, blood on his hand, causing the Kryptonian to gasp and drop Lex. He moaned in pain. He dropped to his knees, bleeding. "What did you do to him?!?!?!" Lois demanded, trying to help Clark. "A gift from Steppenwolf," bragged Lex, "a piece of home from your big dumb Sweetheart's planet. Green Kryptonite. Magic may weaken him,  but this, this can straight up kill him. It's a good thing I have some spare Kryptonite before Batsy stole mine." He knocked Lois unconscious, then turned his back, leaving. He remarked, "you were never a man, Clark. You were never even a god. Now die, you alien scum."
