I laid down on the black quilt, staring at the blank ceiling of my new bedroom.

We had certainly received more money. This house in New York was a double-story modern mansion, completed with a pool. Much better than the old apartment we lived in, even if it was a penthouse.

We arrived yesterday in the afternoon by Japan Airlines. Even though we've been here for about a day, it's still hard to get used to the time difference. And the total change of landscape. Japan is busy, but Beigoma is one of the lesser cities. I'm pretty sure nobody knew about it until the beyblade tournament. Now, we're in one of the biggest cities in America.

Wow.

Ding dong.

I sat up quickly, peering out into the hallway stairs that dipped down onto the lower floor. Who could it be? It's right in the middle of a business week, but my parents don't start lawyer work until next week. I heard a few panic cries, a rustle of clothes and bedsheets and a spritz of hairspray. Mother and Father were probably napping. I was about to go open the door myself, when my mum in light jeans, yellow v-neck and a slightly messy pony tail sprinted to the door.

"Oh!" I heard her say in surprise. I clenched my hands in frustration. The wall blocked me from seeing the person, and I didn't want to look some weirdo spying on them. "What are you doing here?"

I heard an exchange of words, but I couldn't quite catch the voice of whoever that person was. I was about to go back to lying down my bed when I heard my mum call out. "Shu! It's for you!"

I saw my mother retreat from the person, probably going back to sleep. I stood up and walked towards the stairs, wondering who it was.

I froze on the top stair when I saw who.

I blinked my eyes for a couple of times before realizing that I wasn't hallucinating. Then I thought maybe I missed him so much I was mistaking people for him. But who else would have spiky blue hair, happy chocolate eyes and an energetic smile?

Why was he here? I thought as I continued walking down the stairs after pausing for quite some time. His smile didn't waver but rather grew as I got closer. Was he here to reject me? What was with that smile?

"Ha!" he laughed, slapping my shoulder gently as I neared him. "Your face is hilarious!"

I watched as he laughed even harder before calming down and wiping tears out of the corner of his eyes. "Valt. Why are you here?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" he grinned.

"Because today is a Tuesday and you should be at school?" I reasoned. He only laughed again before grabbing my hand. I would've blushed if this situation wasn't so confusing.

"C'mon, lighten up," his eyes sparkled as he continued dragging me. "I need to tell you something."

He dragged me to this nearby park about three houses down the road. Like everything in America, the park was huge. It didn't have a playground but rather a pond with lilies and a veranda with white poles lacing with vines. He pulled me towards the veranda, his smile never leaving his face.

"Sit down," he patted the spot next to him on an oak bench. I obeyed and sat down. I turned to face him. Happiness and amusement glittered in his eyes.

"You don't have to look so happy when you reject me," I rolled my eyes. "You could've just texted me, you know."

"I can't text you something I want to give to you," he said. He opened the flap of the brown satchel across his shoulder. A stack of letters was in his hands.

"So, you came halfway across the world just to give me my own letters back?" I raised my eyebrows. He roared with laughter again. Jeez, I swear he finds everything I do amusing.

"Silly, they're not yours," he chuckled. I frowned in confusion. He handed them to me. In my hands were a lot more envelopes than I had, all bound together with a blue string.

"Whose are they, then?" I questioned him.

"They're mine."

------------------

So I'm pretty much do the whole story again, but this time it's Valt writing the letters and addressing them to Shu. His letters began when Shu left for America the first time, but I won't be writing about every single day, only the important days until I get to the point where Shu comes back.

I was originally going to finish the story in the next chapter, but I like writing these types of books where each chapter is short but important and things like unsent emails or letters, even if I can't really put a lot of detail into them.
