Saturday evening
Dear Valt,
I finally told you and everyone the news.
I invited you all over to my house this Saturday, our friendship group and Xander. before we could even say hello to each other, I told everyone. When I finished, I glanced at everyone in the circle we were sitting in, looking at their reactions.
Wakiya looked absolutely livid, glaring at me. Daigo seemed in denial as he sat there in shock, blinking. Ken gaped and hugged his puppets closer to him. Honcho hammered me with questions, like why I can't I stay here and who cares about work and family, but I ignored him. Xander seemed like he wanted to argue, but he knew that there was nothing that could be done. But what surprised me was your reaction Valt.
You cried.
It seemed almost as much as when Free broke up with you. And the fact that you cried, shocked me. It had only been a month I had been back in Japan. We were supposed to be best friends, but everyone knew we had a fallout. Yet here you were, crying.
No one else had cried, not even Ken. The person I had talked to least this month was the same person that was crying. And what you did next surprised me even more. You hugged me.
You leaned over and hugged me tightly, your face buried in my shoulder. Everyone sensed that this was a private moment and left my room. And here you were, arms wrapped tightly around me, your tears staining my shirt and a faint tint of pink on my cheeks.
I was in shock. This wasn't the first time you had hugged me, but perhaps it was the most meaningful. After a moment, I felt like you weren't just crying because I was leaving, but because of the whole drama. My heart suddenly clenched in guilt.
Here you were, having lost your boyfriend to somebody else because of a misunderstanding. And now you were about to lose your best friend too. I hugged you tighter and let your tears fall.
As I'm lying in bed right now, about to go to sleep, I can't stop thinking about that moment. I still really love you. I tried to ignore it, let it fade away, but I just can't. I need you to know.
You know what?
This is going to be my last letter to you.
I know I'm probably going to regret this, but I'll be in America by then. Away from your rejection.
Tomorrow, I'm going to send you all of my letters.
Love,
Shu.

This is the last letter, the next chapters are going to be in Shu's POV. Yes, the end of the book is coming soon. It was short, but fun writing this.
