Chapter: Let's be friends

James POV

Julian sat next to me once they kicked him out from the room. Mia went to the restroom. I sigh. I turn to Julian.

"Hey." I say awkwardly. He turns to head to me with a confused look.

"Hi?"

"Well. How are you doing?" I really haven't talked to Julian in a while, I don't know if he still hates me.

"I guess."

"Ok." I paused, "Julian, I'm sorry about me ruining you and Mias relationship. You probably hate me so much, and you don't want me to talk to you. Your probably thinking to tie me to a pole, and put fire under my feet so I can burn and die. But hear me out, I'll do anything, anything, please."

He didn't reply.

"Let's be friends" I say slowly.

He starts to laugh, I was confused, did I say something wrong?
"James, do you really think I hate you?"

What. Just. Happened.
Okayyyyyy backkkk up!!! Did he just say what I think he did.

I nod slowly.
He grins and I sit uncomfortably on the chair, not knowing what to say, or do.
"J, I don't hate you, I got over it a few months ago. And, there is a girl I like."

I smile.
"Now who is this girl?" I wiggle my eyebrows, "I'll play Cupid, what do you think?"
He laughs at me again. "No thanks, J. You'll probably ruin it. Just like you did last time."

I nod, smiling at the nickname he gave me. I hear footsteps, and I look to my left.
I see Mia holding 2 Gatorades, and 1 Arizona green tea.

"Hi guys." She smiles sitting to my left. She hands me a green Gatorade, and Julian a red one.

I nod, as a thanks. She opens her can of Arizona green tea and takes a sip.
It was quiet.

"Okay, so, what about we play I spy with my little eye?" I say, I don't wait and I start the game. I look around. "I spy with my little eye, something, white."

I hear Mia groan.
"Ok come on James. Probably everything here is white!"

I shrug an look at Julian.
"That white pot." Julian points to a white pot with a fake plant.
I was surprised.

"How'd you know?" I ask him.
He shrugs. "Well, there's gotta be a way you know?"

"I saw you look at it last so, I said it." I nod my head, he was right. I looked at it last and chose it. "I spy with my little eye something, pink."

Pink?
There was nothing pink around. I look around. Nothing, there's nothing.

"I give up." I say.
"Me too." Mia says.

"Look at Mias can, there's pink flowers." He says not looking but at the door.
I turn around and look at the drink, she holds it up.

Ooh.

"But you didn't even look?" Mia says curiously.
Julian sighs. "Guys, I know what a can of Arizona green tea looks like."

I nod.

The nurse opens the door, allowing all of us in.
There were two beds, a man and a female. The man was asleep but the woman wasn't.

"Mom." I hear Julian say softly. He walks up to her slowly.
She smiles at her son, and Julian hugs his mother. She accepts the hug and hugs him back. I smile.
