Silent Night
~|Cyrus POV|~

As I wandered down the street, I wasn't quite sure what had just happened. While I was attempting to forget, I just could not drag the feeling into the pit of misery as I'd like to. Had I just made peace with the man who punched me only a few hours ago? I wondered. I honestly couldn't understand this turn of events.
My ambition to meet him and to take revenge for his mockery of me was so strong. Why?! Now I knew why he did it and now I was just in a state of pure wonder. Who was this person and why was my head so fascinated by him? It was almost like at the beginning of the day he was a different person to the end.
Everybody has to get the chance to tell their story. Else, what's the point of all the experiences we go through? We would meet again! I was sure of it. And with this thought dancing through my head, I danced home.
Walking is easy; dancing is harder. Whilst dancing is usually rather formal and intimate, when you're by yourself it is very freeing. A little twirl as you pull yourself down a corner can lift your mood just a tiny bit higher. After all, you never know when you'll need to cash more happiness in.
I decided to take one more stroll down the path I like to take, past the bench and through the arch of beautiful greenery. The bench looked as much like a murdered tree as it usually did, but that was what I liked to see. Everything staying similar; nothing moving on too quickly without me. Like father did.
I walked back down the path, passing the bench again, and then entered the house which I had exited with my newspapers only the morning before. As I entered, I glanced down to the newspaper I left for ma. In big bold letters, it said "INDIA WAR OVER". I slapped my hand onto my face; I had handed out a hundred or so of these and hadn't noticed the headline news. This whole thing could've been different if it weren't for my incompetence. I sighed and moved on into mother's bedroom. She lay as she had this morning.
"You alright, ma?" I greeted, walking in slowly. She opened her eyes and nodded, weakly. I frowned because I knew she wasn't. "I'll get you some more medicine tomorrow." I decided. She smiled, though not the smile I wanted.
"You're a good boy." She whispered, closing her eyes to return to her sleep. I left the room, closing the door gently behind me. The medicine was not cheap; I would have to find an actual job now. This prospect had been one I had seen coming for a long time now.
I suppose it was time. But what was I supposed to be? What was my destiny?

A/N
Hi guys, have a nice day.
I was gonna introduce a new character this chapter, but I decided that I needed to make a kinda epilogue to the day first. That character might be delayed for a while until everything is kinda in a boring spot. Long story short, my friend is weird and that gave me the idea to name a character after a place to make fun.
Bye for now!
Edit: I edited it slightly, but not too much, do not worry! I just cut the loose end from the beginning and that was that. Might make it a tiny bit shorter, but oh well. The only chapter I really had a problem with was 'Worlds Collide', but I had to edit this one slightly since it worked as a kind of reprise. Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
