Enid was soon fast asleep, breathing lightly. Carl was still in shock from this, but he was too amazed to answer it. She had been dead, yet, here she was, laying beside him.. with a heart beat, with exhales and inhales happily welcoming her to take. It was amazing.

There was a knock on the door that caused Carl to jump from his gaze. He slowly stood, and whispered a "come in".

"Carl," Rick said slowly, avoiding eye contact. "Please don't hide in here. I know that--" And once Rick saw Enid, he was overjoyed.

Everyone was wildly confused - especially Rick - but they flourished in happiness that the young mother was alive. Little Lori climbed onto her mom's lap, jolting Enid awake.

Tears spurred from Enid's eyes as she wrapped the baby in her arms and squeezed her to her stomach. The baby giggled happily and playfully as she was grasped in a tight hug from her mother.

"Oh, my precious baby.." Enid whispered in awe as the baby was chortling in her arms. "Thank goodness for you... I'm so proud of you!" Enid couldn't help but sob as the magical girl was held tightly. "So... so proud of you, baby.. my precious survivor."

Carl could only smile. Even though he would've  never dreamt to be a father at this age, and even though he didn't dream to be with Enid.. he knew that this was the life he had been wanting. A healthy, strong wife and a little peanut.

"Dad, I went out in the woods.." Carl said to his father, who could only smile as well.

"I'm not even gonna question it. You two are here now, right?" Rick said calmly.

"Right." Carl said.

A knocking sound from the front door echoed in the shallow, damp house. Everyone's heads shot up in fear and anxiousness.

Rick was the first one to make a move. The knocking sound came again, but now, it sounded more like nails on a chalkboard as something scraped the front door. Catiously, Rick took hold of a kitchen knife in his pocket. He held up a hand, signlaing for everyone to stay back. Aaron backed him up, another knife in his grasp.

Rick took hold of the handle, and the door swung open.

There stood the face of evil, with a large, slurky grin that caught the eyes of everyone. Negan, along with his barbed wire bat Lucille.

Enid and Carl stood in the other room, their hands clutched together. Carl, even though he was shaking with fear, managed to stand up a bit taller as he heard the echo of footsteps.

"What the hell have we got here?" A voice boomed, and Carl and Enid's shoulders tensed. They both knew exactly who it was.

Lori begin to sniffle, indicating she was about to cry. Enid held her tightly. "Shhh, it's okay Lori. Mommy's here, mommy's here..." But Lori wasn't reassured by that.

"What a damn of a place this is..." The cruel voice slurred, almost sounding drunk. "Broken down, filthy... phew. I thought you'd find a better place than this. But thanks to your little friend.. Carl... I was able to find you in a split second! Speaking of that rascal, where is he?"

"WAAAAAH!!"

The screaming bounced off the walls, and out into the woods. Negan smiled at everyone watching him, they stood stiffly in fear.

Negan's feet conveyed him to the shut door of the next room, where he gave everyone around him a grin as he reached for the doorknob. When it opened, Carl stood there, alone, and frozen.

"There he is! Well, well, well..." Negan looked around the room, but no one else could be seen. No crying babies. "I must be hearing things. Carl," Negan put his hand on Carl's shoulder. "Did you hear a baby cry?"

Carl hesitated, watching the man in fear. Carl had braveness in his eyes as he shook his head solemnly, eyes locked.

"Words." Neagn demanded.

"No..."

"Sir."

Carl flinched. "..sir. No sir. Not a sound."

Negan's eyes flickered around the room, and landed on a window. Cracked open a small bit. He smiled to himself and let out an evil chortle. For, he knew now. The baby and her mother had escaped through the window, and he was going to find them.
