"3...2...1!" someone counted as my eyes were closed, "Surprise!"

I opened my eyes as people jumped out of nowhere. The one thing that caught my attention was the little puppy inside a pretty decorated box. On the spur of the momment, I picked up the puppy.

"Umm..." I mumbled, not knowing what to do with the adorable little puppy.

"Who's is this?" I shouted curiously loud enough for half of the huge room to hear me.

Everyone shouted back, "Yours!"

I had gotten a puppy? At last, I got one after waiting for 5 years.

"What are you waiting for birthday girl? Name him!" My aunt, Jenna, told me as I looked up, away from the puppy which was still in my arms.

"I will name him..." I thought for a second.

"Josh!" I exclaimed. It was perfect- to me.

I looked back down towards the tiny golden retriver puppy that was probably a month old.

"Is he related to your dog?" I asked.

"Yes darling, he is related to Sarah," Jenna replied. I placed Josh down and the second he touched the ground he ran towards the open door behind me. Oh no.

I ran after him but he was too fast. How was such a little puppy faster than me? I stopped to catch my breath then realised Josh was out of sight. Great, my birthday was ruined once again.
