Mac & Cheese by @voidkoganes
voidkoganes wrote this funny, dramatic and exciting piece surrounding the delicious meal of Mac & Cheese. It may also leave you with a slight existential crisis!
Jack looked at his dinner. It was very plain, and he didn't really really want to eat it. It was Mac & Cheese again.
Although. Everyone else was eating it. His Mom was, his Dad was. Maybe everyone in the world was eating Mac & Cheese right now.
Well, maybe not people in Germany. Because people in Germany were sleeping right now. And they can't eat and sleep at the same time.
"Are you going to eat your food Jack?" His mother asked him, looking at him.
"No. I don't wanna!" He whined, he really didn't. "We ate Mac and cheese last Wednesday!"
"Yes, we did and you didn't complain. Did you?" She shot back.
Jack just crossed his arms. He didn't want to eat the Mac and cheese.
Maybe he wanted a Grilled cheese sandwich.
Maybe he wanted some Cereal.
HE WANTED ANYTHING EXCEPT MAC. AND. CHEESE.
Staring at the Mac and cheese he almost felt asleep.
He starred into it more. It was almost hypnotic.
It was weird. At first her peripheral vision started to blur and turn black.
Then his vision, started to blur, disappear and turn black.
It almost felt as if he wasn't at the dinner table anymore.
No Mom & Dad. No Dinner. No Mac & Cheese. No Sleeping. No Germany. Just a hole of black. A black hole.
Is this what a black hole was supposed to look like?
He felt his body spin round & round. It was an endless cycle.
His Mother looked up from her dinner.
Jack was gone.
"Jack? Baby, where are you?" She asked. Her Husband looked up from his dinner.
His Mother looked around the house, but came back. And still no Jack.
She sat back down at her place at the Dinner table and looked in his spot.
The Mac and cheese was still there, yet now steaming hot. It was untouched as was the silverware, his chair, and anything else around his side of the the table.
Soon, she forgot about it. Forgot about Jack and anything else about the boy.
Eventually his room was a memory. The toys & toybox, the bed, his desk, they all disappeared over time.
And soon, the whole room disappeared.
Where was Jack? Did anyone know?
Did his Mother? His Father? Grandmother? You? The reader?
No. Nobody knew where Jack had gone.
