This book is designed to showcase pieces of short, creative writing from the Wattpad community which can help writers get noticed as well as helping writers get some critique on their work. The work submitted should be original work (not plagiarised) and can't already be posted on Wattpad!

I thought this would just be a nice way for writers to write short stories/poems without having to make the commitment of making a whole new book for the short story or for their collection of short stories, as well as building a platform for people to showcase their work.

So 'how does this work?' you may ask. Well first there are some rules to follow before you start writing your masterpiece.

• The piece of creative writing can be anything from a short story to a poem to even a song! However, your piece of writing must be under 5000 words!

• The piece of writing cannot be an extract from a novel that you've posted on Wattpad, or a short story that you've already posted on Wattpad!

• You can write a story in any genre, however if there are any mature scenes, please place a warning at the start of your piece of writing.

• I will read all the entries before posting them, and if I deem it inappropriate or insensitive I will tell you. You then have the choice to change parts of the piece of writing or choose to withdraw it from being posted in this book.

The pieces of creative writing can really be about anything, so write a horror story or a romance story. Write whatever you want!

With your piece of creative writing, please add any comments you want to about the piece you're showcasing or about your account. Also, please include your Wattpad username somewhere in the email if you would like me to tag you in the chapter with your piece of writing. If you would like to stay anonymous, please let me know before I post the work.

There has been a lot of confusion concerning what you can and can't send to me. I will not be posting short stories/ extracts of books that have already been posted on Wattpad.

Why?

It's actually more for the benefit of the writer, because if their short story is already posted in this book, people won't see the need to read the actual short story book on the author's account.

The purpose of this book is to showcase new, original short stories/ poems which show the talent of the writers.
