"Follow me," The man said, smiling with all his teeth. I look up at him, dazed. He looked like a clown. He had red hair everywhere, a large nose, and very red lips. Maybe he was the Joker?

"Excuse me?" My voice comes out hoarse. He is scurrying away, fast. I try to run and catch up to him.

Mister, if you please," I try again, tugging on his long white lab coat. He stops abruptly and slowly looks at me. I shudder and sub-conciously take a step back.

"Why am I here? Who are you?" I ask. He crinkles his nose and cackles. A deep, rich laughter fills the hallway until it's echoing over and over. I scream at the horrible sound and put my hand over my ears.

"Please stop!' I yell. He shakes his head and checks his clipboard. The sound finally stops. I breath a sigh of relief.

We start walking faster and faster, until I'm panting.

I look around me. Nothing. No walls. Nothing.

It's all just white. Every single thing is white. It's like I'm in a world coloured white.

"Now we will walk deeper into your coma," He mutters.

But I don't hear what he has said.

It's like I am forgetting everything.

He said it one second ago.

What did he say?

Suddenly I'm being dragged down.

My scream fills the air as I go spiralling deeper and deeper.

I feel like Alice when she fell down the hole.

"Hurry up, we haven't got forever," The man tuts, as he marks something off his clipboard. I check my surroundings, confused.

Now I am suddenly in a old Victorian house hallway. The walls are painted deep brown and there are pieces of random furniture everywhere.

He pauses, causing me to bump into him.

Wait..

I didn't bump into him.

If I did, I would of felt something.

It felt like...

He was a cloud.

He wasn't...

tangible.

I shake my head to clear my thoughts and hear a phone ringing in the distance.

The man smiles at me again, and picks up the old telephone. One with a spirally line.

I always asked Mum for one of those.

I widen my eyes.

Why was I suddenly remembering Mum?

"It's for you," He says, handing it to me. He leans on the telephone table and watches me curiously.

I take a deep breath and carefully put the huge receiver near my ear. All I hear is static and beeping. I look up at the man again, blinking.

He urges me to listen.

So I do.

"Anna?"  The familiar voice sounds so distant.

I gape at the man cluelessly.

"Mum?"

"Anna, I don't know if you can hear me but..." I hear sobbing and look at the phone in question.

Why was she sobbing?

"Mum, I can hear you! What do you mean?"

"I love you Anna. Please come back. Please."

Why wasn't she answering my question?

Suddenly, the man starts running. My eyes widen as I grab on to the phone for dear life.

I start chasing him, and everything is becoming blurry and dark.

"MUM! Help me! Where am I?" I scream frantically.

"Oh my god! Doctor! Help! Look what's happening to my baby! The beeping!"

Her voice becomes more distant and the phone starts slipping out of my hands. I gasp and try and grab it, but it's gone. It's lost into nothingness.

Just like me.
