An Anthology Of Poems by @MuniqueKarrington
MuniqueKarrington wrote this amazing anthology of poems which truly blew me away. They are thought provoking and inspiring, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them!
Colorless tears on colorful faces
Our eyes see everything,
Every person, every color.
Yet they don't judge,
So why do we?
Our ears hear everything
Every sound, every sight
Yet they don't judge,
So why do we?
Our hearts feel everything
Every joy, every tear.
It beats the same
In you and me.
These don't judge nor fight nor label
So why do we?
These are united
Yet We claim to be
Like a Dove, Burned for the Very First Time
This is just a dedication,
Not reality, just inspiration.
Why you ask? Life is like a dove,
Once it's burned, it can only be healed by love!
A sweet luxurious night
Could result in such a terrible fright.
A burden created by a seed
Will soon be loved through need.
Soon the seed's guardian will leave,
With every intention to deceive.
The dove, now knowing what to do,
Will know why he came without residue.
After some time, the burden will grow.
An angel will appear and make everything glow.
A new mother she will be
And a new love will sparkle in thee.
Burn bright, young angel when darkness comes
May your light not dwindle upon their sight,
May stars bow down and praise your might,
May the darkness recede back to their tombs!
An angel who was born from a dove
Burns bright through need and love.
Will fate be kind to the new found flight?
Or will the cycle restart with a new found fright?
Remember it as it was
What do you remember about summer?
Was it the cold water? The July heat?
Was it watching your childhood play
Slowly drift away in a summer's day?
What do you remember about spring?
Was it the flowers blooming?
School ending? Summer beginning?
Was it realizing the years flew by
As if time ceased to comply?
Why is autumn so intriguing
Yet fall is so depressing?
Is it autumn's reddish brown
Leaves that turn its annual glow?
Is it her change of temperature?
What is common about winter than any other season?
Is there a why to give a reason?
Is it autumn's color change? Or the fall of white?
Is it Spring's warm weather? Or Summer's blazing light?
Whatever the reason, Winter's white holds the kids' delight.
Plain Jane
No one special, just your typical teen,
Bored and alone, wishing she had a dream.
So many people in a crowded room,
Yet, all she sees are clouds of doom.
A famous celebrity on her own,
Just waiting on that right moment.
A moment for the right word, time or unknown,
A moment to be enthroned.
A talent not taught in school,
Would be the most useful tool.
Could it be her dream come true?
Or something she ought not to brew?
Plain, average and simple
With amazing talents oblivious
To all which intermingle,
Into one that made her twinkle.
A Mother
Any woman can birth a child
Any woman can neglect
It takes a special someone
To care and protect
Even though, the ride can be wild,
Even though, things might not go their way,
They stay,
But do not back away.
Any woman can choose their path,
Some might not do the math.
Not all expect God's gift of love,
The heavenly light sent from God above.
Some neglect and go their own way,
Others take charge and deal with it all.
A mother will stay
And love their infant and watch them crawl.
Growing up Takes Time
Youth is not forever.
Games don't have age limits.
Being a child is not so bad,
Everything we do has it's benefits.
There's always room for play,
Even if it can not stay.
Not everyone is ready,
To keep a job that is steady.
Growing up isn't always easy.
It comes rules and responsibility.
Everybody looks th the future,
Hoping to find it in a brochure.
Not everyone wants to take the plunge,
Into a life that might not be fun.
Being a child is OK,
Where life is a debt, one we don't have to pay.
Growing up takes time,
A ladder which we all have to climb,
One things for certain,
We will all meet that curtain.
Depart and Reunite
School has taught us much,
Our friends were our teachers of life.
The building was nearly a mold
And our instructors are our vessels of knowledge.
It's time to move on.
It's time to say good bye to a trial
And open our eyes to the final exam of time,
Where none pass or fail, just seize the moment at hand.
Years spent in books and homework
Will test the knowledge you've learned in school.
Life will test you in performance
And performance will judge on experience.
Be ready for a fight
Because life won't be easy.
Several challenges it will be
But together we shall triumph.
Let us not be a burden
But a blessing on a seed.
That seed will grow into a tree
And may that tree spread many more seeds.
In the end, we will be together
And reminisce on the years below.
Let us be happy wherever we blow
And blessed we shall be in anything we do.
Love
Love comes and goes,
From one person to another as it grows.
It's a beautiful thing,
It can be harmless or come with a sting.
It's not rich or poor,
It doesn't care if you live on the sea shore.
It comes in all sizes,
It can be dull or with romantic surprises.
Love doesn't care about appearance
Nor about attendance.
It doesn't care if you drive an ambulance,
Just as long as there's acceptance.
The choice of expression is up to you.
It can be simple and dressy
Or reckless and messy.
But remember, your intent is to pursue.
The Moon Side of Him
Like black soiling white, he stole from me
Like a vampire draining a girl, he stole from me
As the Moon shone bright, he stole from me
And as a candle, barely lit, he smothered me.
Mindless Desire
You're impressed by with what you see,
You're fooled by what you hear.
Rumors spread like wildfire,
But the truth is the water for what you desire.
Junky, Trashy, Messy
Filth under sleep; sleep under filth,
Peels, spiders and skunks in the quilt.
Not trashy, but peaceful with a smell
Of a soft and squishy something that fell.
Snakes, rats and "pets" in the couch,
Oh my! I heard something scream "Ouch!"
Clothes, boxes and paper arm high,
It's so stuffy, we can't see nearby!
Something in the corner just moved.
It whimpered, pleaded and shoved
Until out burst a hairy grey ball
who kept shivering till something gave a fall.
