Born to a wonderful family,
Raman was fortunate indeed.
He was loved even when he behaved silly,
And forgiven for all his bad deeds.

He grew up to be a spoilt boy,
With values and manners absolutely nil.
He was loud and in no way coy,
But if tried could be improved still.

Years passed, Raman grew,
And was now a big businessman.
But the fact still held true,
That he belonged to the proud and haughty clan.

He did not respect his parents,
And threw them out of their own
home.
To an old age home he had them sent,
And shamelessly around the city he roamed.

He soon got married to a beautiful lady,
Who had great love for him in her Heart.
God now blessed them with a cute little baby,
And filled his happiness's cart.

Raman brought up his son with great care,
And did all that was in his hands.
But his son's blunt behaviour was too much for him to bear,
That not even for a minute he could stand.

Raman's son was unfortunately like him,
With no love for his mother and father.
In his heart, the light of respect was dim,
But he did not care and bother.

Raman and his wife were thrown into an old age home too,
Though late, Raman realised the pain his own parents had gone through.
His son did what he had done,
And seeing this he wished he had no son.

It is, in the end, our "Karma" that matters,
God punishes the wrong-doer, sooner or later.
And tears of guilt from Raman's eyes did trickle,
As his life completed a full circle.

And I'm back.. This poem is really close to my heart. I had written this after visiting an Old-Age Home.. And seeing the faces of the old couples, I felt so upset and hurt. It is indeed very sad, that children have started taking there parents for granted.. It is really heart breaking.
Our parents do so much for us, and once we grow up, our parents our are responsibility and not a liability or punishment. Nobody in this world thinks the best for us, other than our parents. They deserve a lot of love, care, affection and respect from us.. So value your precious relation with your parents... They won't come back once they leave us... And then there'll be nothing else to do but regret...

By the way... I had a question for all you guys...
