Chapter 2

Chapter 2

"... and that's how World War 2 started in American history!" Koro-sensei said as each student scanned their worn down textbook. They're textbooks were usually the rejected ones, the regular school had a better quality and usually more in detail information.

Nagisa sighed for the nth time that day. It didn't take a genius to know that the blunette was distracted. He gazed out the window with droopy eyes.

"Alright class! Lunch time! And today, it's Italy for me! I heard they got a new flavor of gelato today..." and with that, he burst out of the run down classroom window with a few giggles.

"Oi! Nagisa!" Sugino said with a bento in hand. The small boys head whipped to the side to see his friend. He put on a small smile as Sugino pushed some desks together. Kayano sat in one of them with a pink bento, a grin playing across her lips as she opened it and devoured her food.

Okuda shyly came over, a light purple bento in hand. They all opened up their food. Nagisa leaned over to grab his when he stopped.

I don't have lunch.

He straightened up his back, a frown on his face. "Where's your lunch, Nagisa?" Sugino asked between bites.

Nagisa chuckled nervously. "Hah, must have forgot it at home..."

The blunette leaned back in his chair with another sigh.

Maybe if I do something wrong again, I won't have dinner.

He chuckled darkly to himself.

Won't that be amazing...

Just as he was going to go have a walk around, red clouded his vision.

"Oi! Nagisa-kun!" Nagisa's head snapped towards the voice that was right next to his head. Karma had leaned in right next to him. Their cheeks brushed. Nagisa recoiled at the sudden closeness, a small blush dusted his cheeks. Karma smiled sweetly and opened his red bento, revealing his food half-eaten.

"I heard you forgot your lunch, you can have mine." Nagisa glanced at the food, before blinking at Karma. It took maybe 3 seconds to piece together what he was saying. Immediately his face turned red and flustered. He waved his hands, trying to act polite.

"N-nah! Its okay! You don't have to do anything! I just forgot it because I was rushing myself!"

Karma gave him a hard stare. Nagisa gulped. Did he see past my white lie?

Karma then gave him a small smile. "Its okay. I packed too much for myself. I wasn't very hungry."

Nagisa hesitatedly grabbed the bento, saying a small thanks. He blushed at the taste. DID HE MAKE THIS HIMSELF?

It practically melted in Nagisa's mouth.

This... this is amazing!

He gobbled up the rest in a rush, since most of lunch time was spent moping about his hunger.

His other friends gaped at him. Nagisa soon noticed their silence and glanced up, taking another bite of his sushi.

"H-he could have poisoned that! H-how can you eat it so freely!?" said Sugino. Nagisa stared and shrugged.

"At this point, I don't really care. Plus, I trust Karma."

Kinda.

Well, there was that one time he thought it was funny to switch my boys PE clothes to girls PE clothes. That somehow got a reaction out of the guys. Something about feminine hips and a huge butt.

Or that one time Karma thought it was hilarious when I came to school in a baby blue dress because it was graduation for our middle school and my mom would not let me wear a tux, he teased me beyond end.

Or that time...

People didn't understand that his mom wanted him to be a girl. Usually they would brush it off. No one really questioned Nagisa as to why he had long hair or was sometimes caught in girl clothing.

Maybe I shouldn't trust Karma so easily.

Nagisa made his way home with his friends. He listened to their excited chatter of the weekend since today was Friday. Nagisa dreaded Fridays. He didn't like staying home with his mom.

"Nagisa! Wanna come with us to the mall?" The blunette snapped out of his thoughts and gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry, I'm a bit busy this weekend."

Kayano pouted. "But your always busy on the weekend!"

Nagisa laughed lightly. "Sorry again."

As they reached the train station, Sugino, Kayano, and Okuda spread their ways while Karma and Nagisa waited for the train. Like Nagisa, the red head seemed to be lost in thought.

Nagisa glanced up shyly at him in curiosity.

Karma had a look of concentration. He was biting his inner cheek and his eye brows were furrowed. The blunette bit his lip.

The train soon arrived to Nagisa's relief. They made their way to their normal seats and like earlier, Karma still seemed lost in thought.

What's he thinking about?

Nagisa leaned his head on the chilled window glass. Starting a conversation with Karma like this was simply impossible.

He closed his eyes, letting the tension in his shoulder loosen. Throughout the whole day, Nagisa was afraid to move his shoulder. His tail bone had been hurting all day, but there wasn't a nurses office in the run down building. Nagisa sucked it up throughout the whole day.

The shoulder wound stang, but the blood seemed to be making a scab. He would have to treat it when he got home.

Karma realized this and softly placed his hand on Nagisa's shoulder. Not only was Nagisa shocked, but the wound seemed to flare once Karma touched it.

Nagisa flinched and moved away quickly, pressing his back up against the wall for support. His eyes formed tears as the wound ached and howled.

The red head was concerned. "What's wrong?" Nagisa blinked a few times to rid of tears. He then smiled at Karma to cover his pain.

"Nothing! I'm completely fine. You just caught me off guard for a second.." If he told Karma what really happened, his mother would probably do something that wouldn't just heal magically by a first aid kit.

The train came to a halt and Nagisa bolted, saying a quick goodbye to Karma before dashing home.

Once safe and sound in his bedroom, he collapsed. And hit his tail bone. Nagisa's eyes widened and tears flew out. He couldn't take this pain anymore. The scratches from yesterday and the day before hadn't even healed yet! Now he had to deal with a badly bruised tail bone (which he did not want to look at) and the piercing of his own mother's nails on his shoulder. He dragged himself into his bathroom and grabbed some pillows.

He didn't care about his mountains of homework. He could do those tomorrow. On Saturday.

Nagisa didn't bother to treat his wounds. Since they closed up and seemed like his other wounds, they would just heal eventually.

The blunette set up his pillows and changed into pajamas. He was exhausted. He didn't want dinner.

He just slept.
