How is she?

She is stable but for now you need to get some rest yourself dear

But she needs someone there for her in case she wakes up

Honey, you've been up here for nearly 48 hours and not to mention having been interrogated by police

I slowly began to wake up, becoming aware of my situation, I was in a hospital bed, wrapped entirely in bandages, and(y/n) was talking to someone.

(y/n)?! She's alive?!

I tried to make a sound to say I was awake but everything began to spin. All the pain I hadn't noticed suddenly hit me in a giant wave, it hurt to do even the simplest of things like breathing and blinking. Though it hurt, I glanced to the door and saw a nurse finally convincing (y/n) to leave. I groaned begging her to turn around but I guess she was already too far away to hear or my bandages muffled the sound too much for her tired ears. However, the nurse whipped around.

It hurts so much...

In a soft gentle voice, she spoke to me, "Jane? Can you hear me? I know this will hurt but blink once for yes or twice for no." I blinked once, noticing the room began to spin more with each movement. "Okay dear, that's good news. I'm your nurse, Jackie. I know this may be too soon but I must tell you, you were the lone survivor... I'm sorry for your loss dear"  I already knew no one else would've been found alive in the aftermath of that fire, but to hear it set in stone... I felt nothing but excruciating pain as tears began to stream from my eyes, wetting my bandaged face. I gave a strangled sob as the nurse tried to comfort me. "Oh, honey... Don't cry, it'll just be harder on your body right now." I understood where she was coming from but I couldn't stop. That monster had taken everything from me. My burned body shook with pain and despair. "Jane I'm going to give you something to help you calm down alright?" I didn't acknowledge her as I felt a new sensation seeping through my veins. The room slowly stopped spinning and my eyelids felt very heavy.
