Chapter 2

Word of the chapter: Memories

------

She screamed when a hand made it's way through the portal.. A hand human like instead of the occasional pigman.

----

He stood like a deer in headlights, seeing the white eyes he'd have nightmares of.

------

A young girl, a younger Battle to be exact, sat at the bottom of a nether portal. Her legs were folded, hidden under a giant red and gray striped hoodie, her gray skinny jeans doing not much to her different appearance. She was never allowed to go in to the Nether, her parents forbade it.

"F." She heard her mother called, her small light voice making home in her memories. Battle stood up, a smile on her face as she tried to move her hair out of her eyes. "Papa is coming home for your Tenth birthday, it's special for a girl your age."

"Yeah! Double numbers!" Battle smiled, looking over at her mother.

Alice Tron, blonde hair, dark tanned skin. Battle's mother was a well known tamer, always having animals around her - but she never tamed animals to eat them, her father hunted and did all of that.

"Alright, F, get into your favorite clothes for papa." Alice smiled, patting her daughter's head. Battle nodded, smiling under her brown hair. She ran into her room, leaving her mother watching.

The Nether portal groaned, Alice going over to it and kicking the bottom. It only groaned louder, making Alice back up in astonishment.

"What.. What's happening?" She stuttered, pulling her vest hoodie closer to her. She whipped her head to the door as a man with ash gray hair walked in, burn marks covering his body that could be see. "Aaron.. The portal!"

He looked over at it, the portal now shaking and groaning louder. He stared in astonishment through piercing red eyes, dropping the bags he had hoisted on his shoulders.

"He's trying to break through." Aaron said, walking over to the portal and sliding his fingers along the obsidian. "He's mad.. Still mad at me for leaving.."

It died down after a minute, but after a few Battle walked back into the room she had been previously in.

"Mama, I can't find my green shirt a-" She was cut off by the portal screeching, wailing, groaning, just about everything Battle could think of. She screamed when a hand made it's way through the portal.. A hand human like instead of the occasional pigman.

"F!" Her father yelled, running over to her, picking her up with gloved hands. He held her to his chest, burying her head in his shirt. She soon felt his arms loosen around her, making her look up at him and then her mother. "ALICE! NO!" Aaron cried out, the demon furious. "Herobrine, you fucking asshole!"

In the man with the white eye's, Herobrine, arms, was her own mother.. Blood flowing out of her neck slowly.. She was.. Dead.

"Mama!" Battle cried, trying to get out of her father's arms. Aaron only wrapped his arms around his daughter tighter so she wouldn't fall, running out of the house.

"You can't run from me forever, Aaron! I will have your head mounted on my wall for betraying the Nether!" A demonic voice shouted out. Her father ran at top speed, everything going in a blur.

"Alright, baby girl.. You have to promise me something.." Aaron whispered lowly to Battle. She nodded, tears falling out of her eyes heavily. "Promise me you aren't going to look back, just keep flying.."

"Flying..?" Battle asked, confused. Her father brought up her head while keeping the quick pace, touching his forehead to hers.

"This will hurt, but by this." Claws replaced fingers on his hands, the hand getting slightly bigger. He dragged a single claw down the center of her back, shredding the jacket and shirt in the process. Battle cried out in pain as she shifted, her father stopping and putting her down.

She curled up on the forest floor, crying out in pain as her fingers and toes were replaced with claws, shredding the sleeves of her jacket, the bottom of her pants, and ripping apart her shoes. It grown black along middle of both of her arms and legs. Two wings ripped out of her back with an even higher pitch scream, wings pure white.

Aaron stared in astonishment until he head grass crumbling behind them. He shot his head in that direction, red eyes meeting with white ones.

"Papa.. Papa.. It hurts.." Battle cried from the floor, her crystal blue eyes squeezed shut.

"Fae Bethany Cross! Your mother or myself never taught you to cry! If you should be crying, it would be your battle cry!" Aaron hissed out, his eyes not being torn away from the white eyed bastard. "Now stop crying!" She stopped, her eyes still closed in pain. "Stand up and show you're not afraid!" She obeyed, hoisting herself up from all fours. She stood at three blocks, taller than her father. Her eyes opened slowly, revealing read instead of the soft blue. "Baby girl, be safe.. Now fly."

"Papa.. I'll miss you though.." Battle, Fae, said, looking at her father.

"You emotions will hold humor and small sadness sometimes and some other emotions, nothing to drastic, other than that it's practically nothing besides anger." Her father spoke, glancing back at her before looking back at Herobrine.

"You know, Aaron Cross, you are a traitor.. With that, I will have your head, the girl's too." Herobrine hissed out, walking closer.

"Fly Fae! Don't look back!" The girl nodded sadly, wings flapping as if out of instinct. She slowly rose up, flying fastly in a random directly. "You will not have her, Herobrine."

"Oh, but not now, no.. You come first." The sound of lightning quick steps surprised Aaron.. The bastard grew faster, he thought. "Say bye-bye."

The sound of metal hitting flesh sounded out, a gurgling curse coming from Aaron's mouth before he fell to the ground, dead.. A sword pierced through his neck.

"Fae belongs to a family of traitors, her head will be mine."

Hello

-------

A young boy, whose facial features were similar to those of Rainbow's, sat near the fireplace, drawing on a piece of paper. He drew a dragon, colored red and black, blue piercing eyes.

"James, come on, food's done." A woman said, walking into the living area. "What are you drawing this time?"

"A dragon." He answered, laying down the blue colored pencil and showed it to his mother.

"Looks good, baby boy." The woman said with a smile. "Especially for something drawn at your age."

"Mom, what's for dinner anyway?" He asked the lady. Rose, his mother, smiled slightly.

"Mushroom soup and bread, the way you like it, James." She smiled.

"Why don't you call me Rainbow? James sounds too.. Royal I guess?" He asked. Rainbow had brown hair then, it stuck up with gel. He wore a dark blue hoodie over a white shirt, black jeans too.

"Where in the world do you get the idea for you to be called Rainbow?" Rose asked, laughing lightly.

"I don't know, I just like it." Rainbow said with a shrug, placing the paper on the table as he walked into the kitchen. His father sat in there, reading a book in a different language.

"Daniel, no reading sorcery at the table!" Rose said, slapping the man's shoulder lightly.

Daniel then mumbled something under his breath and five bowls rose up from the counter, floating over to the table. They sat down in front of everyone plus two empty seats.

"James-"

"Rainbow!" Rainbow said with a smile.

"James, go get your sisters." Daniel said, sternly. Rainbow pouted, but nonetheless following his father's orders. He stood up from the table, walking down the hall to a birch wood door.

"Marcie! Marie! Food!" Rainbow said, knocking on the girl's door. It opened, showing two girls with light blonde hair, dressed in pink sweaters and red skinny jeans.

"Move it, bro." They pushed him aside, walking into the kitchen, him following with a frown. He sat down in the chair he had previously been on.

They ate in silence after, Rainbow sat most of the time drenching pieces of his bread with the soup then stuffing it in his mouth.

"You're going to choke, James." Daniel said, glaring at his son. Rainbow made a face, eating his food more slowly after. He ran up to his room once he finished, literally throwing his bowl in the sink.

He closed his door, walking over to the bookshelves in the room and grabbing a single, black book. On the cover, in white shining letters, there were multiple words in a different language.

Ọkachamara Ịgba Afa Nkà {¹}

Rainbow opened up to a random page, page 53 to be exact. He wasn't supposed to read such professional books, but he had flown through all the others, his father decided to teach him harder things.

His father, Daniel, was the most powerful sorcerer in Minevania, Dirtminn, and Craftopia; their house being smack in the middle of all three cities. His mother, Rose, was a witch, skilled in potion brewery. She often had him help her, so he knew some things in the skill.

He read over a paragraph, mumbling some things so he would remember it. Rainbow had always done this since the day he could read. This page held paragraphs of opening purely anything out of thin air, so he tried it out.

"Kpọọ .. ọlaedo ego! {²}" He said, waving his hands in the air for practically no reason. A white hole appeared, scaring Rainbow at first before one hundred or so golden coins fell out. "YES!" He yelled out in excitement, grabbing the golden coins in his twelve year old hands. He let them fall on to a desk before pushing them in a dark red bag. "Savin' these for later!"

"JAMES!" A panicked female voice yelled. It was his mother, Rainbow immediately knew it. He grabbed his bag, running over to the book shelf and throwing four other black covered books in it along with the one he had previously read from.

He opened his door to see a man in a blue shirt, turquoise pants, and gray boots. His skin was tanned, brown hair topping it off. The man walked past him like he was not there at first before turning and seeing the boy. He stood like a deer in headlights, seeing the white eyes he'd have nightmares of.

"He-Herobrine." Rainbow stuttered, backing away from the smiling man.

"Now, James, don't try and run to your mommy.. She's dead, so are your sisters." The man said, cracking a smile. Rainbow's eyes widened with tears threatening to spill as he ran down the hall and outside. His father came from behind a tree, grabbing the boy and throwing a hand over his mouth.

"Shut up, boy." Daniel cursed, looking over to edge of the tree. The white-eyed man walked casually out the house, singing out.

"Come out~ Come out wherever you are~!" The man sang, uprooting trees with a single flick of his finger.

"I'm going to teleport you somewhere and I will warn you now, don't ever repeat it.." Daniel said, removing his hand from the boy's mouth. "Today, your new name is Rainbow, don't let anyone know your real name unless it's a life and death situation."

"What.. What about you?" Rainbow stuttered out, looking up at his father.

"I won't go down without a fight." His father spoke with a smile. "Send onye ebe dị anya .. {³}" And like that, Rainbow was gone.. Unconsciousness was a side effect of the teleportation spell, but he was far, far away from here. "Herobrine.. m akọcha gị azụ hell, na-eji onwe m dị ka àjà mezue a anwansị. {⁴}."

"Not so strong, sorcerer.." The tree behind him flew up, landing thousands of blocks away, surely scaring some unknowing, innocent villagers.

"Neither are you, Herobrine." Daniel turned and spat, glaring through sapphire blue eyes. Herobrine lunged forward, just as his sword made contact with Daniel, he breathed out one last thing. "Laghachi hell na m. {5}"

Red smoke flew up from the ground, Herobrine gasped as a portal opened up under them, sending them both in before the portal disappeared. Both Herobrine and Daniel were gone, Herobrine cursed that he will return.

-----

Time skip, two years

-----

Battle trudged her feet along the river, her wings and claws gone, she was back human looking. The only things different, though, were her eyes and hair. What once was a peaceful light blue, now piercing red with anger; her light brown hair was replaced with dark brown.

She hadn't seemed to be paying attention to where she was walking when she tripped over something.. Or rather someone. She looked back ready to kick whatever had tripped her, only to be met with dark red eyes. What she tripped over was, in fact, a boy with multi colored hair.

He wore a black hoodie and black jeans, looking slightly more cleaner than herself, slightly more tanned.

"Are you real..?" She stuttered, surprised at the stutter at first.

"When am I not..?" Rainbow questioned, looking over the girl. Other than the red eyes he was met with and the dark brown hair, she was pretty pale to him. She was dressed in a light purple shirt that seemed to be ripped at the bottom, a striped red and dray hoodie on top of that, sleeves torn. She had no shoes. "Where are your shoes.. And why do you look so dirty?"

"I haven't met another person in six months.." Rainbow gasped at what Battle had said, it had only been a few weeks since "It's.. Kind of a long story.. My name is F- no, it's Battle Cry."

"I'm Jam- Rainbow, yeah, Rainbow, I have a small house not to far if you want to get yourself cleaned up.." Rainbow suggested. Battle nodded, suddenly missing the sound of clean, running water.

"That would be nice.."

-----

Another time skip, sorry - Panda.

-----

Battle walked out the bathroom, hair slightly wet. She was dressed in new clothes, an oversized dark purple, zip up hoodie over a dark green shirt, a size too big dark blue jeans.

"Don't you look clean?" Rainbow asked with a laugh.

"Definitely feel it.. Do you mind if I live here with you? I mean, I have no one else to go to.. But it's alright if you don't want me to, since I just met you and all.." Battle's words were spoken fast, some mixed together but Rainbow heard her clearly.

"Yeah, you can stay.. We're far from any villages or cities or kingdoms though, and I have no one else too, so it would be nice for some company other than some animals." Rainbow smiled, nodding. Battle had a small smile on her face, one thing she hadn't done for a while.
