They couldn't pass through. It just wouldn't work. "Okay I guess I'll come out?" Robin said in confusion.  "Not the first time," Kid Flash muttered, earning a laugh from Robin and a dig from Artemis. He put his hand on the surface but unlike before it didn't pass through. "That's a problem." he stated. 

"No shit!" Artemis exclaimed. M'gann shot her a disapproving glare and was about to scold her when Robin interrupted, "Okay both of you calm down. This is clearly a trap now we just have to work out how to get me out. I'm not in any immediate danger so there's no need to panic," he explained, calming them down. However, his statement was instantly proved wrong when a green gas began to fill the dome. "What is that?" Aqualad asked, pointing behind Robin. 

"Fear toxin," he replied under his breath. Life really loved to be a bitch to him.

"Just take your antidote and you'll be fine, right?" Kid Flash stated. Robin flashed him a nervous smile and scratched the back of his neck. "About that. When I said I had enough for you guys, I meant that literally. I only had enough for all of you," he answered. 

"Robin what the hell!" Artemis yelled. 

"I'm not the priority here! If one of you guys got hit with the toxin we'd all be screwed!" he yelled back as though it was obvious. "Of course you're priority," Aqualad insisted. 

"Oh really? A thirteen year old kid in a suit isn't exactly as much as a threat as Mr I-can-snap-you-in-half-with-one-move over there is it?" he answered gesturing to Superboy. 

"What about me Rob? You could've taken mine," Artemis added.

"Oh yeah because you'd just love to have your worst nightmare come true." He paused and calmed himself down. "I'm not getting into this right now, just try to get me out whilst I stay whelmed." he ordered. They nodded, watching him sit down and breathe slowly.

The gas kicked in soon after that explosive conversation. Robin remained silent as Superboy and Aqualad rammed into the dome. The effects started slowly. There was a familiar voice, a voice he loved and missed dearly. "Richard," the voice called out softly. The team heard it too. They looked to where it came from. A woman wearing a circus performers outfit stood in front of Robin with a smile. Her blonde hair was tied up tightly and she stared at Robin fondly. "Who's that?" M'gann asked. Robin took a deep breath. 

"My Mama, you'll see my Tati soon," he said through the mind-link. His voice was stuck in his throat so speaking aloud wasn't an option. "Richard look at me." She instructed as a large man wearing a similar costume appeared beside her. They assumed this was Robin's dad. "Please son." His father begged. Despite his best efforts, Robin looked. He couldn't disobey his parents like this. His parents soon became bloodied and bruised, his father's mouth filling with blood. "Stop it Grayson, everything's fine," Robin told himself as he felt fear rise in his chest. 

"You could've saved us!" They screamed. He put his hands over his ears and squeezed his eyes shut. "You don't scare me. Not anymore." he whispered back, unable to raise his voice. 

"You're alright Robin just hold on for us," Aqualad assured him. He hoped Robin could last.

The pair kept screaming at him but Robin remained an eerie calm. They began to fade away and in their place was Batman. "Robin get up," he ordered. Robin looked up and smiled. 

"Caring as ever," he joked, thinking it was over. "How worthless can you get? This is pathetic," Batman told him. He was shocked and stood up. "What're you talking about? I just faced my dead parents," he asked.

"It was a mistake to adopt you and even more of a mistake to not give you back after all these years," his mentor told him bluntly. Tears threatened to spill over but Robin held them back. "You're joking right? This is just one of your poor attempts at joking?" Batman swiftly pushed him onto the ground harshly as members of the League surrounded him. "Robin they're not real-" M'ganns voice was cut off due to Robin's panic. "I've lost contact!" M'gann informed the others. "Get back in contact then!" Kid Flash shrieked, seeing Robin in pain. He just wanted to hold him and keep him safe. "It's not that simple. His mind is panicking, I can't make contact with it like that." she explained, scared for Robin's safety. Kid Flash was desperate to help his friend. "Superboy hurry up and break this thing!"

Meanwhile the Leaguers began to scream things at Robin. "Stop yelling at me! You've dealt with me for so long, why are you acting like this now?" he asked, regaining little composure. 

"We've had enough that's why! And so has your team!" Wonder Woman shrieked. The team appeared clear as day. Their faces in grimaces as though the mere sight of Robin disgusted them. "Guys that's not true, is it?" he asked, not wanting the answer. 

"Of course it is Robin. Why do you think Speedy left? He was trying to get away from you!" Kid Flash told him. "Wally stop it! You don't mean it! This isn't right!" he yelled trying to convince himself. "Why would I lie? You'll end us all Robin." Kid Flash's voice was confident and blunt which scared Robin. "W-"

"Why are you so naive to what is right in front of you? What do we have to do to prove this to you?" M'gann questioned, the happy tone was gone. Silence. He couldn't speak or breathe. It hurt to do anything other than stare at the people he thought was his family. Wait his breathing. It was quick and he couldn't catch up. That's when he noticed the blood gradually spill over their lips. It ran down their chins only to stain their uniforms. "You'll kill us too!" They screamed at him, some choking on their blood. They took steps forward as Robin desperately backwards crawled away from them. His back hit the dome and he could only freeze in place watching the bloody sight.

The team was distraught. They banged on the dome as hard as they could in some attempt to save him. Watching themselves bleed and scream at Robin made them want to throw up. "Robin listen to us! Please notice we're the real ones! Please!" Kid Flash shrieked through tears. He dropped to his knees and pleaded but there was no use. "This is no use, M'gann contact the League now!" Aqualad commanded. She nodded through tears and immediately went to the ship to send the distress signal. "Hold on Robin, please." she whispered under her breath. 

Moments later Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, Superman, Red Tornado and Black Canary descended from the sky. They knew what to do instantly and got to work. Red Tornado got in position as Batman nodded to his fellow Leaguers. On his signal they hit the dome with all their force, successfully smashing it. Flash ran through the shards and picked up Robin before he could be cut by the falling glass. "You alright buddy?" he asked. Robin shook and his eyes were wide with fright. He didn't notice Flash's voice so Flash repeated his question. "Rob, are you alright?" He shook his head and broke out into sobs, seeking comfort in Flash's chest. 

"It's okay, Uncle Flash has got ya. You're safe now," Flash told him comfortingly.

Kid Flash ran up to his mentor and hugged Robin tightly. "Never do that again!" Flash passed the sobbing teen over to him. M'gann went over and hugged Robin along with Artemis. Superboy and Aqualad watched on worriedly. "Y-you kn-know h-how I sa-said I was-wasn't scar-ed of a-anything?" Robin asked through tears. Kid Flash nodded cautiously. "I-I l-lied." M'gann shushed him lightly and stroked his hair soothingly. "I-I'm sc-scared." he whispered. Batman watched the team comfort his ward, feeling his heart ache. He was about to go over when Black Canary stopped him. "Leave them to it." she told him. He sighed and nodded. 

"He was really scared back there Batman," Flash stated joining them. 

"Even Robin gets scared." he replied.
