A wedding to remember
I love this so much and dar-draws does a lot of art of Tam!Dick as well as Demon!Dick it's just so amazing! *Cough cough* okay so I'm back with another spicy Batfam fic and it's time for some pure unadulterated fluffy content. Mostly coz infinity war fucked me up.
The morning of every wedding is stressful. With the Batfamily though, everything is twenty times more stressful but also twenty times more rewarding.
Dick was pacing his room whilst Kori kept trying to fix his tie and M'gann repeatedly told him he'll wrinkle his suit if he keeps pacing. "Stop moving, you're making this incredibly hard," she complained after fixing the darn thing for the sixth time. "Sorry, Kori. I'm just worried about today," he replied. He managed to stay still long enough for her to finally finish her job. She smiled at him reassuringly then went to the mirror to fix her dress. Floating apparently wasn't good for the material. "You worry too much. Today is a day of happiness," M'gann said with her terminally delightful attitude. "I know but what if he stands me up? What is the press find us? What if Jason shoots someone at the reception? What if Talia lets her father come? What if Diana tries to fight Selina again?" Kori sat him down to stop his questions and looked him in the eyes. "Everything will be fine. You will have the greatest day of your life and the most sleepless night of your life," she said, winking.
"Kori stop," he replied. An embarrassed blush spread across his face following his awkward laugh. "Like I said everything will be fine."
"Damian, get that knife away from his throat he's the gardener!" Bruce yelled. Damian glared at the worker but did as he was told. The gardener ran off in hopes of getting a pay rise from nearly being killed by the boy and Damian strolled confidently to his father's side. " He looked suspicious hiding in the bushes like that," he replied. He put the blade back in his boots, saving his wrath for when the right time came. "He wasn't hiding in the bushes he was cutting them," Tim reasoned. He finished ticking off the things on the checklist and handed it over to Bruce. His organisation skills meant that he was the first choice for checking over events and making sure things went reasonably smoothly. That meant keeping the trouble-prone heroes out of said trouble. So far he had stopped three fires, stopped Jason and Roy drinking the entire bar and managed to keep the inseparable grooms separate. "The only thing we need now is the guests and the grooms to gather in the chapel," he said.
Jason ran in, patting his jacket down to quell the flame. His leather jacket how had a hole in it from the fire. "Who invited Blue Beetle? That kid nearly killed me!" he exclaimed.
"Do you have your gun?" Tim asked.
"Of course, why wouldn't I?" Tim face-palmed as he had specifically told all guests to leave weapons at the door to prevent such an incident. A threat was a threat to the bug. "Hand it over," Bruce ordered. He did but not without mumbled of swears under his breath. As much as he loved his guns, he also loved keeping his head. "You too Damian," he added. Damian had a similar reaction and handed it over. "And both of you at least smile once today." They both groaned simultaneously. They got that today was Dick's special day but even he wasn't expecting this much out of them. "Where's Barry?"
"Gushing over Wally in his dressing room," Tim replied. Bruce sighed loudly and made his way to the dressing rooms. "Is he going to be like that all day?" Jason muttered.
"Yes," his younger brothers replied.
Bruce knocked on the dressing room door to check up on the speedsters. As Tim had said, Barry was gushing over Wally in his wedding suit. They were both vibrating from excitement. Great. Two excited speedsters didn't normally end well. He noticed Bart in the corner, also looking very excited. Scratch that. Three excited speedsters guaranteed disaster. "Are we going soon?" Bart asked eagerly. "Yeah, Bruce is it nearly time? I want to see my son-in-law all glammed up," Barry added just as eagerly. Their excitement was already tiring. Sure Dick had been a very excitable kid when he was younger but he was never like this thank God. "We're starting to bring guests in now. Tim will give me the signal once we're ready for you to come in. You all need to calm down first, however," Bruce informed them. Wally smiled mischievously at him.
"Maybe if you let me see Dick I'll calm down," he suggested. With another loud sigh, Bruce agreed on the plea that he didn't let anyone else know. These traditions were taken pretty seriously by the ladies and a few gents of the league. Bruce never saw the point in them.
"Who's at the door?" Dick asked upon hearing rapid knocking. He had been trying to hack into Tim's comm unit just in case there were any problems he needed to help with. "Wally get out!" M'gann shouted. "You're going against the traditions of the ceremony!" Kori added. Dick chuckled to himself and walked to where the door was. The pair were blocking the entire doorway so that Wally couldn't weasel his way through. He couldn't help but laugh and waved from over their alien shoulders. "Let him in girls. When have we ever upheld traditions?" he reasoned. They glared at Wally then moved to let him through. "Two minutes then you're out," M'gann warned. He grinned at her and was at his fiancé's side in a heartbeat. "You look perfect," he said breathlessly. Dick beamed at him and held his hand. "You look perfect too," he replied. Wally smiled at him, cupping his face lovingly. "Can I get a kiss?"
"Not before the ceremony you can't. Although, you do look very kissable right now," Dick teased. He rolled his eyes and snaked his arms around the younger's waist. "I'll make sure to get that kiss tonight then," he replied.
"He'll be getting more than a kiss tonight I'm sure," Kori muttered from across the room.
"What is it with you today?" M'gann scolded as blushes covered the couple's faces.
"She is right though," Wally laughed. "I'll make sure of sharing more than a kiss." Dick huffed and wiggled out of his lover's grip. "You should get back before anyone else finds out you saw me. They'll have your head," he joked. They held hands for a few moments longer. The next time they would hold hands would be at the altar. "See you out there babe," Wally said, getting a quick peck on the cheek in. "Alright out with you," Kori announced. She picked him up and placed him outside, slamming the door. "Honestly, why do you even have traditions if you don't follow them?"
The chapel soon filled with heroes and civilian friends alike although it was hard to get some of them to leave their drinks at the bar. An almost silent hush fell over then as Wally walked out with Barry and Bart. It took Tim ten minutes to convince them to not wear sunglasses with ass printed on each lens. However, he couldn't get them to take off the caps that had "Fuck Bitches" on one and "Get Money" on the other. Why were they like this? The wedding photos were going to look terrible. Wally was proud of them though and walked down the aisle with a proud smirk.
Damian had to be restrained from throwing a ninja star at their heads to knock the caps off by Talia. "I'll only aim for the caps."
"We both know that's not true now sit down," she whisper-yelled. He sat down, pouting, and put the ninja star back in his pocket.
Once they got to the altar, Tim gave the signal for Bruce to bring Dick through. They all turned and saw Dick beaming like never before. "Have you got the camera?" Kori asked Cyborg quietly. "My eye is the camera," he deadpanned. She concealed a laugh but still got a glare from Raven. Garfield was bored out of his mind and thought back to a dumb video he watched. "I heard if you say something over and over again it will happen in real life," he whispered to Barbara. She raised an eyebrow. "What're you trying to make happen?"
"I'm trying to get Bruce to trip over," he replied, staring at the billionaire's feet intensely. Barbara shrugged, failing to stop the temptation of trying the same thing. He didn't fall over much to their disappointment and the ceremony began.
They said their vows, a few league members cried with happiness and it came to an end rather smoothly. "I know pronounce you husband and husband." There was a pause as the man read further on the script Tim gave him. "You may now top the bottom."
"Goddamnit, Jason I knew you changed it!" Tim shouted from the back of the room. Jason and most of the chapel were now erupting with laughter whilst the remaining few looked like death would be a blessing. "Don't you dare Wally," Dick said through a laugh. His now husband was stepping forward with a devilish grin on his face. "We have to kiss or else it doesn't count," Wally teased. "And you are the bottom." He swiftly grabbed Dick by the waist and kissed him passionately. Dick smiled into the kiss, wrapping his arms around his neck. The laughs turned to cheers as Wally picked his husband up bridal style. "Dumbass," Dick muttered. The words held no value with that big grin on his face. "You love me really."
It was time for the speeches and all in all it went better than expected. M'gann and Kori prepared a speech together, a sweet gesture yes but Kori had snuck innuendoes in at any moment and M'gann hadn't noticed half of them. Instead, she opted to laugh with the audience and committed them to memory so she could look them up later.
Then it was Jason's turn. He drank a little too much and Damian had to sit him down once his speech turned into a rant about how he wasn't the perfect child because he wasn't gay like Dick. It was confusing as hell but to a drunken Jason, it made sense.
Finally, Bruce stood up and unfolded a piece of paper. "I've known Dick since he was nine. Back then his smiles were few and far apart until he created a title that has now become a legacy. Those smiles got more frequent with time but to this day I haven't seen him smile as much with anyone else other than Wally," he started. Bruce noticed the bright smile of his ward in the corner of his eye and let a small smirk grow on his lips. "Those smiles helped in times of need. I'm sure everyone has benefited from how contagious the damn thing is. Dick wasn't the same without Wally in his life. Those years were hard and I didn't help by forcing my mantle onto you. When I saw him after my absence, I thought back to the nine-year-old I adopted. The smile we loved wasn't the back until Wally returned. That's why I have to thank you for bringing my boy back." He was tearing up at this point and picked up a glass. "A toast to the man who started a legacy and his now husband who received a sight I'm thankful for every day." They all held up their glasses, lightly clinking them together and cheering. Diana stood up from her seat with a grin. "To their union!"
"And the hope that they provide!" Roy added jokingly. The aliens looked to their human counterparts for the reassurance that in fact, it was impossible for one of them to get pregnant. "May you always be satisfied," Bruce finished. Dick grinned at him, side hugging him.
As the party raged on and the couple danced, Artemis watched on. She and Wally shared a dark secret she hoped nobody would find out about. "Can I steal you for a moment darling?" Selina asked sweetly. Assuming she wanted help, Artemis complied and followed her to the kitchen. "What can I help you with?"
"You can help me by never speaking of the affair you had with Wally," Selina replied. Her sweetness was all but gone and there was a fire in her eyes of pure contempt. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course you don't. If you have any hope of clearing your conscience, you will never lay a finger on that man for as long as you live. You're lucky I'm great at keeping a secret but I am not afraid to let it loose." Artemis sucked in a deep breath.
"It was a one-night thing. I was drunk, he wasn't in the right state of mind."
"And it'll stay a one-night thing, you hear me? Dick deserves much better but I refuse to crush his heart by telling him." She began to walk out of the kitchen, not sparing Artemis a glance. "A secret stays a secret until the truth is needed. Watch your back."
Dick and Wally decided to skip the party and walked to their room. They smiled at one another, kicking off their shoes. As soon as the door was closed, Wally for the kiss he asked for before. "Ready for tonight?" Wally asked, taking off his shirt. He pressed Dick against the wall, kissing his neck and smirking against his skin. "More than ever," Dick said. He removed his shirt and blazer. He threw the clothes across the room and took off their pants so they were left in boxer shorts. Wally picked him up by the thighs as Dick wrapped his arms around his lover's neck. He placed him on the bed, straddling him. "You look so cute underneath me," Wally teased seductively. A light hue of pink shaded Dick's cheeks and shoulders.
They were locked in a deep kiss when there was a knock on the door. "Grayson, Harper is trying to fight Kent's clone on the dancefloor and- OH GOD!" Damian exclaimed once he walked through the door. Dick shoved Wally off of him and, accidentally, shoved him off the bed as well. He swiftly covered himself with the blanket. "WHY DIDN'T YOU WAIT FOR ME TO ANSWER?"
"I KNOCKED! ISN'T THAT ENOUGH?"
"CLEARLY NOT!"
Wally rubbed his head and got up from the floor. He pushed Damian out the door whilst Dick tried to recover from the embarrassment. "Nice of you to pop in and everything but I've been waiting for this all day. I'm sure Clark can handle the problem, have a nice night," he said. Damian attempted to argue against him but the door was already slammed in his face.
Returning to the bed, Wally moved so he was now straddling Dick like before. "I think we scarred him for life," Dick said, almost laughing. Wally rolled his eyes and kissed his neck.
"He'll be fine. How about we pick up where we left off hmm?" Dick smirked and locked moved his hands to the brin of Wally's boxers. "Somebody's needy," he taunted. Wally fake pouted, pulling off the remainder of Dick's clothes. "You're adorable when you pout."
"I can and will make it near to impossible to walk tomorrow so watch yourself," Wally warned playfully.
*Cracks knuckles* can't wait to get to some angst about what happened with Artemis.
