. Keep Me Awake .

---Randy's POV---

"C'mon," I motion for (Y/n) to hurry, "Just one more stair case."

Teresa turned just earlier when she stress eats a packet of Mcfizzles. I could've stopped her but it was too late. I found the two arguing about where to go and I was looking forward to hear what (Y/n)'s answer was but, she didn't answer.

I look behind, expecting her to be right behind me but she isn't. I panic and quickly went down the stairs. A few stairs down I freeze at the sight that made my breathing stop for a second. I see (Y/n) sitting on the floor, her legs spread out with her her back against the wall, desperate for oxygen to get in her lungs while her eyes close shut.

Shoot. Why didn't I bother to look back?!

But that isn't the only thing that horrified me. The fact that the sea of zombies are surrounding her made my instincts kick in to leap and save her.

One already got to her but before he could shove down a handful of Mcfizzles into her mouth,

"Ninja chop!" I said as my hand chops the zombie's hand away from, making it drop it's candy on the floor. While the zombie tries to pick up the candy, I pull up (Y/n), got her arm over my shoulder as I slid my arm around her waist. As soon as I know she could hold on and see the zombies nearing,

"Ninja jump!" I jump from the floor and then landed a few steps ahead of the sea of zombies then announce to use my ninja scarf to hoist us to the very top.

I quickly glance at (Y/n) who clearly looks drained, like she just ran on a marathon. I gently landed at the top of the stairs where a door stands in front of us, probably leading to the top balcony. I could feel her weight resting against mine, not able to even stand for herself.

I guess running from a town of zombies is very tiring, and I guess she did run a marathon. I've always thought that aliens couldn't get tired and here I am, standing corrected. She was so close to me, I could feel her heart beat thumping out of her chest. She still has her eyes tightly shut, her grip on me suddenly tightens.

The sudden grip concerns me. I need to check on her even though she clearly isn't doing alright."(Y/n)?"

She didn't reply. Well, she couldn't and she probably knows this as well since she still breathes irregularly. So, she a made thumbs up from her hand, reassuring me that she's alright, but the sight of that made me feel the opposite.

"Just breathe, (Y/n)," I gently said, enough care to be visible from my voice.

As I bust the door open, I overlook the stairs from below and see the zombies slowly coming up and towards us. I have to close the door quickly.

"(Y/n), I need you to stand for a second alright?"

She nodded, her eyes open up and I feel quite relief to see her (e/c) eyes looking up to mine.

"Ninja Door Jam!" I jam the door with a door stopper after I closed it and within seconds, the zombies from the other starts to knock down the door.

I took a step back, thinking that this should buy us time. Also, enough to think of how can I turn these mindless candy eating zombies.

Think, Randy!

My train of thought stops when suddenly I hear a thud behind me. Out of reflex, I quickly turn around with my hand ready to bring out my ninja nun-chunks and ready to knock out some zombies but to my surprise, it was only (Y/n), now collapsed to the ground.

I quickly go to her side, lifting her head from the cement, and rest it against my knees. "(Y/n)!"

Her loud breathing is only the response she could give. Her eyes, opening and closing from time to time. This isn't good. She needs to be in a hospital, if aliens are even compatible with our medicines.

I need to act fast. I look around as I hear the zombies climbing using the exterior of the house.

How can I make them un-zombified?!

I can't make a cure, there's not much time left. I can't even pass my science so that's definitely out of the question.

Wait a minute, if (Y/n) knows this going to happen, could she possibly know how to stop it? She has to know, right?

"Ninja," (Y/n) said in between breaths, making my gaze drop down to hers, she mumbles something I couldn't understand.

I just decide to ignore what she said, focusing at the matter in hand, "(Y/n), do you know how to stop all of this?"

Wasn't expecting it, but she nodded. I feel my insides fill with hope, "How?"

She's trying to normalize her breathing but it looks like she isn't even trying. When she's done trying, she pokes her stomach in different places then, opens her mouth as she pokes the insides. She chokes then coughs hard suddenly, and before I could even react or think what she did, her hand drops to the cement lifeless.

My vision flicks to her head, her (h/c) hair covering her face then, her head drops to the side. Her body not moving an inch but her breathing is still the same, desperate for air.

"(Y-Y/n)?" I adjust her face to let me see, eyes close, "No, no, no, no,"

I shake her shoulders, trying to wake her up.

No response.

I hear the zombies' feet, landing against the pavement. I look up and I could see them slowly walking towards. Suddenly, the door bursts open, the door jammer being completely useless now.

I gently set her down on the pavement close to me, then stand with my back straight up, ready to defend (Y/n) with every fiber of my being. It's a strange feeling that possesses me because she's an alien, she could just be faking it to make me defend her, to make me care about her.

Or even worse, she could just be lying about what I'm about to do to these zombies.

Make them un-eat (vomit) the Mcfizzles.

Let's just hope what she said is completely true.

I've already lost my best friend and the entire Norrisville to this virus.

I can't loose her too.

Just hold on, (Y/n).

•~~{Y/n's P∅V}~~•

I open my eyes and inhale air as if I hadn't been breathing this whole time.

Fluorescent lights fills my vision making me squint my eyes. I raise my hand to cover my eyes when I find my arm forced back. I feel cold metal restraints tightly secure around both of my wrists. I move my legs too and felt the cold metal around it as well.

I try not to panic as I move my head to see where I am exactly, but my neck also has a restraint preventing me from looking and recognizing the place, forced to look at the irritating buzzing light attached to the metal gray ceiling.

Panic time? Panic time.

I instantly panic, realizing I'm once again cuffed down to a metal examination table, made to hold down animals or monsters. In this case, aliens which means, me.

I arch my back as an attempt to break the metal restraints but that only made my skin bruise up. The familiar cold of the metal creeps to my back, and through all out my body sending shivers.

What's happening? How did I get here? Why am I here?!

In a blink of an eye, recent events came flooding back to my mind.

The zombies. Mcfizzles. Randy.

My breathing starts to become irregular, my hands turn into fists then open again as if to calm myself down. My heart starts to race as I once again try to lift one of my legs or arms, just one. I give up seeing that these are real metal but the thought of not being able to break out only makes everything worse.

My mind races with questions,

Did Randy bring me to a hospital?

How long have I been here?

Am I going through a live autopsy?

Am I being tested on?

My chest starts to feel heavy, as if my lungs aren't getting enough oxygen already. My heart beats against my chest, wanting to break out of my rib cage. I could already hear them on my eardrums when suddenly....

I freeze upon hearing a door open with a loud creak then closes with a sharp click, sounding that its lock from the outside. So, breaking the door would be the only way to escape the room, If I could break it and if I could break out of these metal restraints.

Every inch of my body wants to see who came in but fear suddenly paralyzes me, not daring to look at the one who would do this to me.

Echoes of footsteps came closer and closer, making my insides fill with nervousness, my stomach twisting in knots.

Then, it stops; as whoever came in halts exactly at a position above my head.

A face came in, blocking the light for a moment, with eyes filled with excitement looking straight at mine, "Welcome back, (Y/n)."

Viceroy.

My eyes widen with absolute fear upon seeing him smirk but before I could even react further, I felt an abnormal sharp pain on my arm, something so sharp that could pierce through my skin, I feel something inside of my skin, and then felt a piece of myself leave my body as I scream my head off. My eyes shut tight, wishing for the pain to go away, wishing that I was home, not my home with Randy but my real home, on my bed awake realizing that this is all in my head.

I arch my back and clench my fists trying to fight off the pain but the more I fight it, the more painful it got. I try to move away, desperate to get it out of me, but that only causes my whole arm to sting, sending electric like pain overtake my body.

Hot tears escape from my eyes, flowing fast as soon as they were formed. My desperate scream is the only sound that echoes in the room and it's all I could hear until it all turns into a ringing sound, drilling into my eardrums and finally, drowning my own frantic and painful screams.

The ringing sound made its way to my brain completely pounding like a hammer.

Suddenly, the pain quickly goes away as I feel numbness take over my body. That terrible feeling made me scared and paranoid, just the thought of losing control of my body is freaking me out. The last few seconds of my consciousness is occupied by a question, and the answer scares me either way.

Is this my reality?

If it isn't, then what is?
