**Delilah**

"Cole", I whisper his name and run wrapping my arms around him.

He laughs spiralling his arms tightly around my waist and rests his chin on my head.

"I missed you so much Dee", his voice sounds so strained and I shut my eyes tight.

"Why did you leave me?", I ask as I loosen my grip and stare at him.

"I'm here now", he returns softly avoiding my question. I push it aside since my body's too numb to argue right now.

"I heard what happened", he says and I suck in a breath, seeing the anger fill his eyes as he trails his thumb on my cheek.

"He made you cry", he states through gritted teeth and I take his hand in mine.

"Let's not talk about him. I'm just glad you're here with me", I say honestly avoiding the conversation of Blake with Cole. Trying to hide the pain from him....but most importantly myself.

He has a hard expression on his face as he stares into my eyes. "Just drop it, please", I plead and his gaze softens.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around much. I needed some time to think", he says and I listen carefully.

"Delilah I now it's too soon, but I have been keeping things to myself way too long and it's slowly killing me inside", he confesses and my heart literally beats out my chest.

He takes both my hands placing it on either side and he moves closer.

"I can't stop thinking about you Dee. I thought distance would maybe allow me to let go of you, but I was wrong", he says and bite my lip. No no no.

"Cole-",

"Meeting you was like listening to a song for the first time, and knowing it would be my favourite", he cuts me off with sweet words and tears fill my eyes once again.

"If there's a slight chance of getting something that will make you happy, risk it. Life's too short, and happiness is too rare", he says softly in nearly a whisper and the next thing I know....his lips are on mine.

My body freezes as my brain registers what is happening. The kiss breaks and he stares deep into my eyes and I appear stunned before him.

Immediately I feel bad that I felt nothing. No butterflies, no fireworks nothing.

"Delilah I'm inlove with you, and I know you don't feel the same and it's okay, you don't have to but I just need you to know that", he says quickly and my throat hitches in my throat.

"Cole I love you, but I'm not inlove with you. I'm sorry", I apologise with tears straining my cheeks and he nods with a small smile wiping my tears with his thumb.

"It's okay, I know you're inlove with Blake even though he doesn't deserve you ", he says squeezing my hand and I stare at the ground on the verge of breaking down.

"I don't know what to do Cole", I admit as my voice croaks.

" Don't look at me I'm a mess", I choke on a sob and he pulls me tightly into his chest, feeling the familiar warmth inside his arms fills my heart.

"It's okay to break down Dee.  Just know that I am here to mix you up whenever you need me to", he soothes into my hair and I shut my eyes tightly.

"D-don't ever leave m-me again", I choke on tears and he squeezes me tighter.

"Never again, I promise, he says softly as I let out another sob.

Eventually my tears began to subside and we sit down on the dry sand as I rest my head on his shoulder.

"I feel like such a fool", I say softly staring at the ocean. The waves so calm and suttle.

"You should never feel like a fool. In fact his the fool for leaving behind such a precious girl. Which any guy would be luckly to have", he says softly looking at me and I smile weakly.

"You know what Delilah. People will forget what you said, people will forgot what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. And that is love", he says and I think about his words as he spoke.

"I knew the moment I saw you together, that he was the one for you. People make mistakes Dee, it's part of life", he says looking into my eyes and I raise my eyebrows.

"What are you saying?", I ask and he lets out a sigh.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is. I really don't like him and I'm sure I never will", he says clenching his jaw and I let a laugh.

"But what I'm saying is. No man will leave behind someone as pure as you. I really think something is up and he will come back for you", he takes my hand in his, placing a kiss to my skin causing me to smile.

"I really love you Cole", I exclaim and his features light up. "I love you too Delilah", he returns and we both stand up wiping the sand off our clothes.

"I'm sorry I can't love you in the way you want me to", I say sincerely and he smiles weakly.

"As long as you still in my life. That's all the love I need", he replies and I smile placing a kiss to his cheek.

"One-day you will find your princess. You just have to look in the right place", I say and he smiles.

"Goodnight Delilah", he greets, his voice soft and gentle.

"Goodnight Cole", I return the greeting embracing him in a hug before parting out ways.

I'm so glad I got to see Cole again.

"Dee", Cole calls out from behind and I turn around.

"I don't regret the kiss", he says and my features soften. "I'll see you soon Cole", I smile and shows me a boyish grin as I walk back home.

The house looks dark and I sigh, grabbing another brownie making my way to my room.

All of a sudden my knees become weak and I fall to the ground. I see a tall, dark silhouette walking towards me.

And before I know it.....

I black out as I feel my body being lifted.
