**CHAPTER EIGHTEEN**
**Blake**
"Stop, daddy stop", Hazel giggles as I playfully toss her in the air.
"I play on the swing now ?", Hazel whines and I chuckle at how adorable she is.
"Yes you can play on the swing", I say with a smile.
Hazel runs to the swing, hanging one leg on the swing pushing herself up on her tippy toes.
"Hazel is adorable", Delilah says watching her with a smile as Hazel finally manages to get on the swing.
"Yeah", I mumble under my breathe.
"Is she your daughter?", Delilah asks carefully staring at me.
I chuckle as turn my head to face her. "No, but I love her like she's mine", I say truthfully watching Hazel dangle her legs above the ground.
I feel Delilah's gaze on me as I look into her eyes. An emotion waves through her eyes, but disappears twice as fast as it comes.
"I just assumed because she calls you dad", she states and I frown.
"Come daddy", Hazel calls and I walk up to her.
"Care to join us?", I offer and she nobs smiling.
"Sure why not", Delilah replies. I secretly smile to myself when she agrees.
"Can Dilla push me", Hazel asks. I giggle at the way she pronounces her name.
"You can call me 'Dee' sweety", Delilah replies and Hazel giggles shly.
"I'm sure Delilah has other things to do-", I start.
"No it's okay, I don't mind", she cuts me with a smile.
"You don't have to", I say quickly.
"No I'd love to ", she says walking to the other side as she pushes the swing lightly, making Hazel giggle as the wing moves back and forth.
Bathany never used to spend time with children, she always said they were 'annoying little brats'.
But there's something special about Delilah, the seems calm and I'm pretty sure she's adores Hazel by the way she looks at her like she's the most adorable thing on this planet. And she is.
"Higher", Hazel giggles happily.
"Okay supergirl", Delilah says pushing her slightly higher as I watch them have fun with each each other.
"Daddy I want ice-cream", Hazel says as Delilah stops the swing.
"I'm not so sure about that princess", I say sadly as Hazel frowns.
"Why not?", Delilah asks curiously and I sigh.
"How about you play alittle longer and then we all can have ice-cream together?", I suggest looking at Delilah. I smile as I see a littl blush creep on her face, turning her cheeks Scarlett as she shly tucks piece of hair behind her ear.
"Yay", Hazel cheers chasing her ball as she tosses it in the air.
"Let have a seat on the bench, so we can keep an eye on Hazel", I say sitting down next to Delilah.
"Hazel is going to be four in a few months", I start looking at Delilah, but careful to glance a few times at Hazel.
"When Hazel was born, she was diagnosed with lung cancer" I explain sadly. A soft gasp escapes Delilah's lips as she stares at me with tears in her eyes.
"Her mother couldn't deal with the news when the doctors told her about Hazel's condition, so she left. Hazel grew up in a orphanage but got rushed into hospital when she had trouble breathing on her own and now she practically lives in the hospital. With no-one to care for her", I say watching the smile on Hazels face with a heavy heart.
"Why does she call you dad?", Delilah asks softly.
I chuckle at her question. "We watch Dora the explorer almost every single day in the hospital, since they don't have many children's cartoons", I say staring into the blank.
"One day an episode came on when Dora threw a surprised party for her father. My heart felt heavy when she asked me where her father was. I panicked when she asked me so I told her I was her father. And ever since that day, she calls me dad", I explain. Suddenly Delilah places her hand over mine. The small soft gesture was enough to send butterflies through my stomach and she smiled at me sadly.
"That's the sweetest story I've ever heard. You did a great thing", she answers gently squeezing my hand. Just by that little contact with each other, I felt like I did something right. I felt sercure.
"Will she get better?", Delilah asks staring at Hazel.
"As long as there's hope", I answer truthfully.
"She's an amazing little girl, with a happy soul", she says and I smile. My smile soon fades as she takes her hand off mine.
"I want ice-cream now", Hazel runs towards us handing me hair Dora the explorer printed ball.
"Sure princess, let's go", I pick her up as we walk to the ice-cream parlor.
We soon enter the doors, glad to see there's no one inside.
"Hi how can help you?", a blonde lady asks with a smile as we roam through the different flavours.
"I think she'll have one hazelnut ice-cream scoop in a cup please", I order for Hazel. "You can go next", I offer Delilah.
"Okay I'll have a scoop of choc-chip fudge please", she says as I smile. "Make that two, it's my flavourite", I say and she giggles. "Mine too".
We soon get our ice- cream after I insist to pay for the ice cream and we sit in comfortable silence. Or I sit in silence and Delilah entertains Hazel by pulling funny faces causing us both to laugh.
"Daddy your turn", Hazel squels and I smile, sticking my tongue out as I pull my ears making my eyes look opposite directions.
Delilah and Hazel burst into a fit of giggles as I pull my face.
Hazel gasps pointing her finger to an insect as she stares in amazement.
"What's that?", she gasps, her little squeaky voice making her sound even more adorable.
"It's a butterfly", I answer and she repeats my words under her breathe.
"It's purple", she says excitedly hopping slightly.
"Yes it is, you are a little genius aren't you", Delilah playfully says and Hazel smiles shyly at her.
"It's so pretty", she says as it flys away.
"It's beautiful ", Delilah whispers softly under her breathe, but loud enough for me to hear.
"Just like you ", I say as I look at Delilah, seeing the breathe taking smile on her face, tickling Hazel causing her to giggle all over the place.
Part of me couldn't resist the feeling of being...
Complete.
