Chapter Four: "It is not a date!"

The youngest Uchiha son sat alone in the garden of his home. All around him flowers and plants flourished. Birds fluttered through the trees in the early morning hours, giving him a sense of tranquility. He would always find himself here when something was troubling his mind. He took in a deep breath of the crisp morning air, thankful for the peace it allowed him. The sun was slowly rising behind him. As it did, it's light made its way across the garden. It landed on Sasuke, and he closed his eyes. Soaking in the warmth it provided, he could feel every nerve his body melting. The world around him dissipating as the sun's rays steeped into his soul.

His peace was rudely disturbed by his phone going off. The teen groaned and reached into his pocket. He pulled out his phone to look at the caller ID. The display showed him a name he scowled at, 'Haruno Sakura.' He sighed and tapped the green button on the screen.

"Moshi, moshi?"

"Ohayo, Sasuke-san." Sakura's voice projected clearly into his ear. "I apologize for calling you so early in the morning. Did I wake you?"

Sasuke shook his head despite her not being able to see it. "No. I'm always awake this early."

"Ah, I see.." She went silent for a moment, almost long enough for Sasuke to think the call had been disconnected.  "Anyway, I called to ask if you were available today around six o'clock."

Sasuke's eyebrows narrowed in confusion, "For what?"

Sakura sighed into the phone. "My mother believes we should spend some time together before the wedding. If you are available I can arrange a reservation at any restaurant you desire. Or if you don't wish to go somewhere to eat, we can do something else. It's up to you really, I'm just trying to please my mother."

Sasuke was silent for a moment before he smirked, "So you're asking me on a date?"

"Huh?!" Sakura exclaimed, not expecting him to be so straightforward. "N-no! I'm simply asking if you would like to join me for doing whatever it is you choose this evening."

Sasuke quietly chuckled at her flustered tone. He could practically hear that she was blushing by the way she spoke. "So a date."

"Don't call it that, Uchiha!"

He shook his head at her behavior, "Yes I'm free. I'll tell you what I'd like to do later when I decide."

She sighed, seeming relieved. "I'm glad, thank you. I'll talk to you later then."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Sasuke brought the phone away from his ear and tapped the red button, ending the call. He sat in the garden for a few more minutes before deciding to get up and head inside. Standing, he took one more deep breath of the cool air and made his way inside. He arrived in the dining room to see his father and mother sitting at the dining table. The young Uchiha joined them, sitting across from his mother.

"Ohayo, okaa-san." He mumbled, as a server set a plate of eggs and grilled tomatoes in front of him. Sasuke thanked him and began to eat.

"Ohayo Sasuke-kun." Mokoto replied, turning her gaze to her son. "Any plans for today?"

Sasuke shrugged and took a sip of water. "I'm supposed to meet up with Naruto to go to the gym."

Mokoto smiled at him, "Ah, just the usual then?"

Sasuke shoved a tomato in his mouth, shrugging once more. "I'm supposed to see Sakura as well."

When she didn't respond Sasuke looked up at her, only to frown at the look on her face. Mokoto wore a bright smile, looking excited. This had even caught his father's attention.

"Oh?" Fugaku said, "Sakura-san hm? What are you two going to do?"

Sasuke looked down at his plate and pushed his eggs around the plate. "I haven't decided yet. We've agreed on six o'clock so we could go somewhere to eat. I'm still unsure as to where though."

Mokoto's eyes lit up, "Oh! Go to the Italian restaurant down town, I hear it's very authentic. I also heard that the fettuccine there is incredible. You must try some for me."

Sasuke never really cared for Italian food, however his mother spoke so fondly of it. He decided that's where they would go. He had also heard of the restaurant and figured it was probably high end. He grabbed his phone and opened up messages. He quickly wrote a message to Sakura.

Sakura was on her way to the mall to meet up with her best friend Ino when her phone went off. Anxiety began to gnaw at her stomach, thinking it might be Sasuke.

Did he finally decide where they were going? What if he changed his mind and didn't want to go anymore? What if it's just a prank and she gets stood up?

She shook her head gently, dismissing the thoughts. Sakura had more confidence than to think she would be stood up. When she finally arrived at the mall and parked her car she decided to check it. Sasuke's name on her screen eased her anxiety.

The message read, 'I have decided. We will go out to eat at the new Italian restaurant downtown, dress accordingly. Also, I have something else planned after. Bring a sweater and socks.'

Sakura's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, 'A sweater and socks?'  She couldn't begin to imagine what that man had planned. She shrugged it off and proceeded to exit her car. Walking into the mall she found Ino waiting right near the entrance. The blonde smiled widely and waved at her, Sakura returned the gesture as she approached.

"Sakura! You took so long to get here!" Ino complained. "I aged five years just standing here waiting for you."

Sakura rolled her eyes at her friend, "Don't be ridiculous, let's go."

As the two walked around the mall, Sakura subconsciously started looking at different sweaters to wear later when she was gonna see Sasuke. Eventually the pinkette found one she really liked and decided to buy it. However seeing how Sakura usually never wore sweaters, and not to mention it was spring and was rather warm, this piqued Ino's interest and she started interrogating Sakura.

"So what's the sweater for?" Ino said casually, as they exited the store.

Sakura avoided making eye contact with her, "Oh, I just thought it looked nice. No special reason."

Ino scoffed and stopped walking. "Don't lie to me, Billboard Brow!"

Sakura stopped walking as well and feigned hurt. "Ouch, what's with the name calling?"

"Answer the question."

Sakura sighed, "I'm going somewhere tonight and I was told that I should bring a sweater, that's all."

"Oh?" Ino raised her eyebrows at Sakura, "So a date?"

Sakura flushed, "It is not a date!"

"Ha!" Ino exclaimed, pointing a finger at the pinkette. "So it is a date!" Sakura sighed, realizing she had fell for Ino's trap.

Sakura fiddled with the handle of one of the bags she was holding, and tried to play it off. "I wouldn't call it a date," she started walking again, this time towards the parking lot. "We're just going to have dinner. That's all."

Ino let out a high pitched squeal that almost broke Sakura's ear. Sakura covered her ears with her hands and looked at the blonde like she was insane. "Ino never do that again!"

Ino jumped around with a goofy smile on her face. She stopped jumping and got in Sakura's face, goofy smile still in place. "A date with the one and only Sasuke Uchiha." The blonde brought the back of her hand to her forehead and swooned. "How dreamy!"

Sakura let out a fake laugh. "Ha ha ha- no."

Ino groaned, "Come on~! You can't tell me you're not excited."

"Not even a little bit." Sakura scoffed, attempting to feign disinterest as they got to the parking lot.

"You really are a terrible liar. You should be more honest with your best friend." Ino pouted, as Sakura shook her head.

The pinkette rolled her eyes, reaching into her purse for her car keys. "Don't be so dramatic Ino-pig."

The blonde whined and stomped her feet as they reached Sakura's car. "Okay whatever Sakura. But promise you'll tell me all the details."

Sakura smiled, "It's a promise."

They hugged, and said their goodbyes. As Sakura drove back home a nervous feeling settled in her stomach.

'Why did I agree to this?'

Who's back? I'm back! Hell yeeaahhh!

Let me first apologize for the lateness of this chapter. Recently I've had no inspiration or motivation to continue with this story. I'm not in a good state of mind as of recently and it's been hard to write a story with characters that are goofy and happy. When I try to get past my writers block the only ideas I'm met with are those of a much darker nature. Either way I forced myself to get this out. The main reason being that my other story, now has over 13 thousand reads! I saw the stats and I was so shocked. I also felt guilty for not updating for so long. Especially when I used to update so often.

There is a significant difference in reads on this story than my other one. And I know that this story hasn't been out for nearly as long. And I'm not as active on Wattpad as I was when I was updating that story regularly. But I know that those of you who read this story are the ones who were here in the beginning. And I couldn't express how grateful I am for that.

That's just about it for this chapter. As always, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. If you did don't forget to...
