Chapter Two
The floor under me felt cold, sending a freezing shock to my bone. I didn't know how long I had been here. I didn't even know where I was. It was that dark and lonely, I didn't even hear anyone breathing. Let alone myself.
I woke with one eye open and studied around me. Then it hit me.
I was in a small cave. Seemed to be underground and had large, long poles, the thickness of a snake guarding my exit. It was something else than a cave.
It was jail.
I sighed and turned face to the wall. I took off my mask and placed beside me. I wondered why they hadn't taken my mask. They had taken my weapons. But that wasn't much of a surprise, seeing that it would be against the rules to let the prisoners keep dangerous tools.
I heard someone approach and I hastily put my mask back on.
The approacher -a totally weird looking monkey, and the same one I remember from when I blacked out- took a key and unlocked the gate.
I stared at him. He stared back.
"Commander James would like to see you," he said. He sounded like he was accusing me just like the other jammers were.
"Why? I didn't do anything. In fact, I shouldn't be here," I mumbled.
"Too bad. You should know that scamming is againt Jamaa's rules."
"But I didn't scam!" I protested.
"Nice try," he scoffed, grabbing my paws and handcuffing them. "But save your speech for the commander himself."
This was going to be a long day.

I was hurried past the lines of prisioners, each staring at me.
Even though I didn't dare to stare back, the monkey guard -which I had named him- was pushing my shoulders like I was making him slow down. It was rough too.
We finally made it to the "so called commander's" office.
I looked around as the guard finally let me go. My eyes surveyed to the commander.
Our eyes met and he didn't smile.
At all.
"So, you know why you're here?"
"Because I've been wrongly accused?"
He smirked.
"Actually, the reports I've had is that you are the thief. And what I've heard are pretty good reports other than actual accusations."
"Well maybe they had the same mask as I. But I didn't steal anything. If you were smart enough, you would have checked my satchel."
The commander looked like he was thinking it through. Then he looked at me again and turned to his guard.
He motioned to take my mask off.
Even though I would have fought back and deffended myself, which was no use because I was in handcuffs, I let him take it off.
The commander's, also monkey guard's, brows shot up.
That was the usual response I got every time someone saw it. Which was rare.
The commander stayed silent for a few moments and so did his guard.
It made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
The commander cleared his throat.
"You sure look like a thief to me."
I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't steal!"
"Hm, well you're staying here until we hear back from someone you know. We won't let you go unless there's someone to pay for your freedom."
I growled under my breath. How much will it take for them to notice I was not a thief!
He gestured to take me away.
As the monkey out me back in the cell, he threw the mask at me.
"You better put that back on."
And he walked away.
The same response as usual.
I was always called ugly in some sort of way. Anything they said, was the truth. And the truth, was always something related to ugly.
