chapter 19

Skipper's POV                                                                                                                          I took orders from people on the beach and wrote them on a notepad. Back and fourth in and out. Cold and heat. I was getting tired taking orders then bringing orders and to think after all this I would have to clean the beach and the Inn. This was a lot of work but being here for a month has gotten me kinda use to things. I was walking to a customer's table carrying a glass of Dr. Pepper and that's when it happened. A lazy person he couldn't sit straight in a seat had his leg all put out. It was blocking my way and I tried to walk around it but of course their was pretty much no way around it. I cleared my throat and the man looked up at me before looking back out to the ocean. I groaned and tried to step over his leg but of course he had to move his leg then. I went crashing down, face first into the burning sand and spilled the soda all over on the customer. The guy's light brown eyes was wide with shock. I got up on my knees as everyone stared.

"I-I'm so sorry sir." I said getting napkins out of my pockets trying to clean up the guy but the sun was beating down on us all out here. The soda would only dry and make him sticky.

"I'm fine, it's cool." the guy said laughing as I pouted.

"No it's not sir. We can get you cleaned up inside." I said taking his arm and brought him inside.

Diego shook his head laughing at me before his eyes landed on the guy. His face lit up and he grinned walking over.

"Denis!" Diego said giving the guy a huge hug. The guy laughed hugging back before Diego pulled away turning up his noise and looked down at his own shirt. "Your a bit sticky pal." he said.

"Oh yeah I know." he said laughing.

"It was my fault um I'm guessing he's a friend of yours." I said wetting up a towel and handed it to Denis.

Diego nodded grinning. "Friends since pre-k." he said slapping Denis on the back which made Denis send him a playful glare.

I smiled then frowned. Ugh, friends. Where's Trin and Janet anyway? They probably found guys and been too busy with them to be a friend and hang out with me. I huffed to myself and asked Diego if I could be excused to go on my break which he said I could.

I checked my phone for any text messages or missed calls from Traci. None, none at all. I pouted grumbling to myself. I really needed to know soon what we were. I'm not gonna wait forever. I can easily find another man. I nodded to myself before getting my lunch out the fridge. We had two separate kitchens. One for the people that come eat at the Inn or on the beach then the other is for us who live here. I hummed looking for my pudding and glared slamming the door shut. Someone ate my pudding. I walked out to look for Diego to ask who ate my pudding when I saw Traci come in. I smiled brightly about to run over to him but then I saw Diego and Denis chatting, with pudding. MY cup of pudding in Denis's hands. As he ate it happily. I stomped over there with my hands on my hips. I loved pudding and no one was gonna take my last cup of pudding. Wasn't he a customer? He can order something fancy why did he crave pudding all of a sudden.

"Um..Skip?" Diego said raising an eyebrow.

"My pudding." I said slanting my eyes at Denis and his eyes widen before he glanced down at the pudding in his hands then back up at me.

"You snooze you lose." he said and I lost it.

"Get off him!" Diego said trying to pull me away.

"Skip calm down now." Traci said pulling my back and I growled then grumbled about my pudding.

"I can buy you more I'm sorry." Denis said putting his hands up in surrender.

"It's too late to apologize now that you ate it dipshit." I huffed pouting and crossed my arms as Traci shook his head.

****

"And somehow that was Denis and I's fate in meeting."

"Your so dramatic." Denis said rolling his eyes smiling and glanced at the video camera.

"Shut up I was telling them a story." I said laughing.

Denis wasn't Ivan. He would never be Ivan. But it was nice to have someone to laugh with. And now it's been a month since we've been friends and two months since it's been summer. And summer is almost over, coming to an end.

"I'm gonna miss you Denis." I fake cried and hugged him making him laugh while Traci just huffed rolling his eyes.

"I'll miss you too Skippy." he said hugging back tight fake crying also.

"And scene!" I said pushing Denis off me and Traci stopped recording.

Denis huffed and stood up from the ground pouting. Traci rolled his eyes again giving me my video camera.

"Tell me why I did this again?" Traci asked and I pouted.

I wanted to say because you love me but, did he really feel the same way I felt for him so instead I said

"Because I asked you to." I said and kissed his cheek making him huff blushing.

"Well I gotta go, see you at the beach tomorrow." he said and I nodded smiling before Traci left my room.

"You know you could totally find a better guy then him." Denis said making me roll my eyes as he flopped down on my bed opening a sports car magazine.

"And you could go find yourself a chic instead of looking at cars." I said and he looked up at me smirking.

"Touche', but I like someone." he said smirking more meeting my gaze and I shrugged.

"Good for you." I said flopping down on Ivan's bed and ignoring Denis's groan.

I know he likes me but I love Traci, and I don't like him like that. I stared at the ceiling sighing. Things still felt missing.

I'm sorry about all these time skips and if this book seems so rushed and makes no sense if it don't. I know I know but it has to be finished soooon so I decided to try to finish most of it up today. Well peace out my potatoes.
