"So what was up with Banner?" I asked, flicking broken bottle shards across the floor, "he totally wrecked the quinjet, and made us take this leisure ship."

We had been out of Sakaar for a little less than an hour, and we already found all four of us sitting on the ground in celebration. Celebration, that included all three adults drinking, and me watching in thirst.

Even though I tried to explain to them my real age, they shot me down with the response: my body is still 17. They weren't wrong, and I hated it.

"Poor lad saw a video of his girlfriend back on Earth," Thor joked, taking a huge gulp of flame-whisky, "got embarrassed, like a human teenager."

"I'm right here, guys," Banner said in offense, "I can hear everything you're saying!"

"Wait, wait wait," I smirked, "girlfriend?"

"Well, it was complicated."

Valkyrie shrugged, "but was it love?"

"I don't want to talk about it," Bruce sighed, "I haven't seen her in forever, and she's probably moved on."

"To who?"

"Literally anyone else on the planet?" He said flusteredly, "she and Steve are always talking, and being Avenger-buddies, so probably him?"

It took me a moment to process what he was saying, and then it clicked in my brain. He was talking about Natasha, wasn't he? I never knew her very well, but I didn't expect him to have ever dated her. But Steve?

A laugh escaped from my throat, and I shook my head, "are you talking about Steve Rogers?"

Banner nodded his head, "why? Is there something I don't know?"

"She's not with Steve, I can guarantee that."

"How would you know?"

"Steve's my dad," I grinned, "and he has an not legal, yet still evident, husband."

Thor widened his eyes, as if he heard the best news of his life. Apparently we all knew (with the exception of Val) who I was talking about. Slamming his bottle down on the ground, the God stuck his pointer-finger out in excitement.

"I always knew something was going on between those two," he emphasized, "why isn't it legal?"

"Because they're old fashioned like that," I explained, "they like the idea of having a secret affair, even though they don't realize everyone knows about it."

"Sounds about right."

"But what about you?" Valkyrie said, sitting up, "are you having a secret affair?"

"Val, I'm 17!"

"And?" She teased, pushing a strand of hair out of her face, "I saw you making eyes at Loki back at the compound."

Once Thor heard that, his jaw dropped open, and he let out a confused gasp. So did Banner. I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms in front of my chest in disbelief.

Yeah, Loki definitely brainwashed me into stealing the tesseract for him, but that didn't change the fact that he was incredibly good-looking. But besides his chiseled facial features, he was a hard pass.

"Yeah, he's hot," I admitted, "but I would rather rot in a Sakaarian cell then actually like him."

"Well, there has to be someone," Thor pressed, "enlighten us."

"Why are you guys asking me this?" I snorted.

"Because you never tell us about your past! You're like some lone ranger that appeared out of thin air."

"I'm a soldier, not a ranger," I corrected, hanging my head, "and yeah, I did have someone, once."

"Once?"

"Yeah, once," I nodded, "I haven't seen him in a year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he hated me for leaving him behind."

Val sighed, leaning onto her elbows, "I'd doubt that."

"Why?"

"You're talking about that Spider-ling, right?" Thor cut in.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "yeah, how did you know?"

"I spoke to him at the Tower once," the God explained, "we were supposed to be arranging transports, but he kept staring at some screen instead."

"What screen?"

"I'm not sure. It was some kind of video of you in a box."

The security camera.

I bit my lip, my mind suddenly flooding with the memories I had pushed aside for so long. My initial plan was to forget about it all, but now it was all I could think about.

Peter.

I missed him.

I tried to distract myself by looking at other people (Unfortunately, Loki was one of them) but I never cared much for them. I just tried to stare at them long enough till I could pretend I moved on. Of course, it never worked, and I ended up always thinking about those hazel eyes.

"Okay, I don't know who the hell this Spider-Being you're talking about is," Valkyrie rambled, "but there's only one question that actually matters."

I nodded, "what is it?"

"Simple," she shrugged, "was it love?"

Instantly my face flushed red, "I'm sorry, why does that matter?"

"Life sucks, and you shouldn't waste your time on someone you don't want to kill people with," she said, taking another swig, "if you can't kill with them, just kill them instead."

Uhh.... remind me not to seek life advice from Val ever again. Or Thor. Or Banner, probably, he didn't strike me as the type.

But she still had a point.

"It wasn't the romantic kind of love," I explained, "that wasn't like us at all."

"Did he kill someone for you?"

"Val, no," I laughed, "but if we had to, I'd probably kill someone to keep him safe."

Did I just say that?

Oh.

It kind of just slipped out. I had this whole 'never kill again' thing going on for me, but here I was saying I'd break that streak just to protect a boy. What the hell was happening to me?

"Did he love you back?" Thor inquired, leaning into the conversation.

"I never got to find out," I sighed, " I ran away."

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?" Everyone yelled, throwing their bottle shards at me, "HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!"

Jeez, when they all screamed at me in unison, I definitely wasn't expecting that. It was like they were watching some kind of soap opera.

"What?" I said, "I did it to protect him!"

"Thor, turn this ship around," Val commanded, rolling her eyes, "we're going to Earth to find this supposedly not-trashy, mildly decent man."

As the two adults scrambled onto their feet, Banner waved his hands in defense, "wait, what about Ragnarok?"

"Oh, right," Thor mumbled, skidding to a stop, "well, [y/n] can take the emergency pod, then."

"I don't think this is a good idea," I hesitated.

Before I could list all of the reasons for my fears, Banner put his hand on my shoulder to cut me off.

"You have the chance to go back," he said softly, "you have the chance to see someone who you love. I don't have that chance, so I'm telling you to take yours, because you deserve it."

"Do I?"

"If you won't do it for yourself, do it for Peter."

He was right. I was lucky enough to be able to go back, and here I was freaking out over it. I just didn't want to be disappointed... and for what, I don't know.

"Are you sure you guys don't need my help?" I stammered, searching for even the slightest bit of hesitation from them, "I can stay to help!"

"Suck it up, soldier," Val yelled, already in the pilot seat, "and go find that Spider!"

Well, there was no denying it now. I had to go back. Even if I couldn't bring myself to get into the pod, I'd probably be shoved inside anyways by Thor and Val. I was just so...nervous. What if Peter really did move on? How the hell would I know, and what the hell would I do?

He's the only reason why I'm going back.

"I'll call you," I said, popping open the pod doors, "somehow."

As I strapped myself in, I watched as the three waved their goodbyes at me. So this was really happening. Okay, I should just listen to Val and suck it up.

Nodding my head at them, I said my farewells, as I was shot out into space, "bye Revengers."
