This was going to be our best prank yet. 

I had a smirk on my face as I walked to Naruto's apartment with the grocery bag in my hand. I couldn't wait to get back at the grocery store manager for the comment he made about my dad.

I knocked on Naruto's door and he answered it quickly, just as excited as I was.

"I got the supplies," I said, holding the bag up to his face.

He smirked and invited me inside. We went to his room and I emptied the bag onto the floor, then sat down criss-cross on the floor.

"I can't believe I didn't think of this one," Naruto said, opening the box.

We dumped the glitter into the box and Naruto carefully put the spring underneath, then set it up nicely. I wrapped the box up making it look like some takeout lunch, and even added some chopsticks on top of it to add to the look.

"Now, you remember the plan, right?" I asked Naruto.

He smirked. "I do,"

I used the transformation jutsu to hide my appearance and Naruto put on a fake mustache, sunglasses, and a hat. I sweat drop looking at his "disguise" but I knew he was struggling to use the transformation jutsu.

I picked the box up from the floor and we left his apartment, heading over to the store. Naruto took the box from me and I walked inside, getting the manager's attention.

"Excuse me, sir?" I ask. "I'm looking for this specific brand of milk tea. I believe it's called Kocha Kaden,"

The guy walked over to help me look for the tea. I knew that brand wasn't in this store, it was just a diversion. As he helped me look, Naruto quickly rushed over to the counter and switched his take-out lunch with our glitter bomb.

I can assure you that this guy deserves this. I overheard him talking about how my Dad is "incompetent as a ninja" and how he has a hard time believing he's the son of my grandfather. All of that because he demanded my dad help him while he was off duty and told him "it's your job, go do it."

Naruto quickly ducked down behind the aisles after, giving me a thumbs-up as a signal.

"Sorry, I don't think we carry that brand. You could try the other store near Ichiraku," The guy said.

"Oh, okay. That's fine, thanks anyway," I said and started walking around to pretend that I was just browsing around.

The man walked to the counter and took the chopsticks off the box. I had to hide my smirk as he started opening it. Naruto snorted and slapped his hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter.

The box opened and glitter exploded all over his face and all over the counter. The man stood there without a word and a blank expression. The spring bounced off the counter and onto the floor. Naruto snorted and burst out laughing. I face palmed at how he just blew our cover.

"NARUTOOO!"

Naruto immediately ran over to me.

"KAORIIII!"

"Run!" Naruto exclaimed, grabbing my wrist.

We sprinted out of the store as fast as we could. Naruto let go of my wrist when we finally ducked down behind some barrel.

We panted and then looked at each other, then burst out laughing. We laughed so hard that we had tears streaming down our faces.

"Man," Naruto wiped tears away. "Did you see the look on that guy's face after it exploded?"

"Yeah," I replied in between laughter. "I think that's our best prank so far,"

"Next time, we need to-"

"There you are!"

We saw the man in the distance with glitter all over his face. I widened my eyes and grabbed Naruto's hand, running off even further. I knew the perfect hiding spot, so I dashed as fast I could to the Yamanaka Flower Shop. I knew my other best friend, Ino, would cover for me.

I pushed the doors open and we both ran inside, hopping over the counters and ducked down.

Ino sighed, knowing what was going on.

"Do I even need to ask?"

I smirked at her, but then she motioned for us to stay quiet.

"Have you seen a purple-haired girl wearing a grey hoodie and a blonde-haired boy wearing an orange jumpsuit?" I heard the guy ask.

Ino shook her head. "Nope, haven't seen them, but if I do I'll let you know,"

The man sighed and I heard him muttering about how he could've sworn he saw us run in here. The doors shut and Ino gave me a signal to let me know that it was okay to stand up from behind the counters.

"You better be careful," Ino shook her head at me. "Your mom is going to be mad if she finds out you're still pranking people,"

"I have cat-like reflexes, no one will catch me," I replied.

She's been my best friend since we were in diapers. Our mothers were best friends back in the day, so naturally, we became just as close as they were. Sakura used to be a part of our group, but then they started fighting over Sasuke. I got dragged into it of course.

Sakura assumed that I had a crush on him too. I thought that was stupid because I've never liked him in that way and because Ino likes him, I wouldn't even think of going after him. Besides, I had eyes for someone else.

I'll never admit out loud who he is though.

Naruto looked up at the clock and walked around the front counter. "I've gotta go now, but I'll see you later Kaori. And thank you for covering for us, Ino,"

"Yeah, yeah," Ino replied. "Just try to think of a different hiding spot next time. Someone's bound to catch on,"

He left after that and when the doors shut, she flipped open a magazine with a dreamy look in her eyes.

"I can't wait to see the look on Billboard Brow's face when I get picked to be on Sasuke's team tomorrow," She said. "That'll show her! I even have a plan on how to get close to him,"

I sighed as she explained her entire plan on how she was going to get close to Sasuke and start dating him.

Yeah, sure he was good-looking. I won't deny that, but his fangirls are so rabid. Sometimes I felt bad for the guy because he couldn't even breathe without him swooning over him. I love Ino and I'll support her no matter what, but I wish she wouldn't obsess over him. He doesn't even give her the time of day.

Well, I guess I had no room to talk about the last part.

"Well I wouldn't get your hopes up too much," I said to her. "If it doesn't happen, you'll be disappointed and upset,"

She just shrugged. "What about you, Kaori?"

"What about me?"

"Who's the guy you want to be teamed up with?" She flipped the page inside her magazine and then looked up at me.

I felt some heat on my face when a certain someone crossed my mind. "I don't have a specific guy I want to be teamed up with. I mean, it would be nice to be on Kiba's team at least,"

No, it's not Kiba. We're just friends. He's been one of my best friends since we were kids because we used to play on the same playground, then we grew inseparable after that.

Ino held her smirk. "Are you sure? Don't think I missed that blush,"

I poorly played it off as it was hot in here and pushed my sleeves up on my hoodie. "Yes, I'm sure. I don't have time for guys,"

"Just you watch, I'll figure it out," She grinned.

A customer walked inside the shop and started looking around. I mentally sighed with relief knowing that would change the subject.

"Oh, before you go," Ino said. "Would you want to walk to the academy with me tomorrow?"

"I can do that," I nod. "Kiba will be with us too if you don't mind."

She smiled. "That's fine. See you tomorrow!"

My first Kiba fic. This one is going to be more lighthearted than angsty but will still have that teenage angst in it lmao. Also, that's Kaori above, but just imagine her with an olive complexion.
